"Hey there, Joey Jr., what are you up to?" Joey asked, his antennas twitching with curiosity as he approached his son.
"Just doodling, Dad," replied Joey Jr., his tiny cockroach hands carefully sketching something on a piece of scrap paper.
"Doodling, huh? Let me see what you've got there," Joey said, leaning in closer to inspect his son's artwork.
"It's a surprise for Mom," Joey Jr. said with a mischievous grin, holding the paper close to his chest.
"A surprise, eh? You've got your mother's knack for keeping secrets," Joey chuckled, ruffling his son's tuft of hair affectionately. "I'm sure she'll love it."
"I hope so," Joey Jr. replied, his eyes shining with excitement. "I want to make her smile."
"You always know how to brighten her day, kiddo," Joey said proudly, placing a gentle claw on his son's shoulder. "Just like your old man."
Joey Jr. beamed at the compliment, his heart swelling with pride. "Thanks, Dad. I learned from the best."
With a shared smile between father and son, they returned to their respective activities, the bond between them stronger than ever.
