Nestled in his bed, Y/N is startled awake by sirens and gunshots outside the dormitory. He arose quickly and peered out the window to see the campus of the university engulfed in flames. He witnessed cops in riot gear shoot civilians—at least, he thought they were civilians. However, no matter how many bullets pierced their hearts and lungs, they kept walking. Finally, one of the officers put it down by splattering its brain matter over the green college campus.

Y/N was frozen in shock. How could this be happening? He looked over to his roommate's bed only to find it completely empty. As sirens blare as a warning of the hell that awaited them outside, Y/N discovered a trail of blood leading to the bathroom. He slowly approached the bathroom door, but decided against opening it. Then again, what if his roommate was injured?

Y/N was at war with himself. Part of him wanted to open the door and see if his friend needed help, but the other half of him wanted to run. Finally, he cracked the door open and heard a growl. Before he could shut the door, the husk that was once his roommate came bursting through it.

Y/N was repulsed at the sight. His eyes were milky white as if he were possessed, and blood streamed from his mouth. His intestines dragged across the floor as he walked toward Y/N as if in a daze, not even looking at him.

The monster lunged at him, but Y/N dodged him and bolted out the door. At that moment, he had one person on his mind: Maggie. She was visiting her family that weekend, so he knew that he would find her at the farm. He'd never been there, but he knew where it was through stories she would tell about it.

When he got outside, the National Guard stopped him at gunpoint. Instinctively, he raised his hands.

"I'm unarmed!" he shouted. "Please! Let me go!"

He saw them talking to someone over their radio. When they were done, they approached Y/N and demanded him to put his hands behind his back. He was being arrested for crimes that they would not relay. Tears threatened his eyes as he looked up into the night sky, hoping and praying that Maggie was safe.
