After docking the ship at Misty Island, I proceeded to explore for Orbs and Scout Flies, but also saw the Muse was exploring the island and she looked like she was messing with some Lurkers. I then approached the Muse and she looked at me in surprise. Why? Because I actually helped look after the Muse whenever the sculptor had to take breaks or if the Muse needed to get some bathroom time.
"Hey there, Muse... you wanna go back home?" I asked, her then frowning at me and running to the top of a cliff, me smirking at that. "Oh well, I guess I'll have to eat this nice... tasty... watery fish all for myself~." And once I spoke that, Muse immediately came down to my side and smiled while her tail wagged, especially since I was honest and showed her the fish in question. I had 4 of them on my person, actually, all cooked the way she liked them: in a frying pan.
"Pwease food?" she asked, which yeah, the Muse could talk. But only to those she truly trusted. I was one of them. Daxter was not, so he looked at the Muse iin confusion, as he couldn't understand her.
"You can get the fish if you hop into my backpack and stay in there. This place is deadly, you know that, right?" I asked, her then frowning at that.
"I know... it where I know old life, though," she said, me tilting my head.
"Uh... explain," I frowned.
"When here, I remember I was genie Musette, powers of weather. Been cursed by evil people on island to be Muse. Only cure is true love's kiss," she said, me smiling at her as I then proceeded to do something to her, mainly because I did love her, in the sense that I felt that she was such a great friend. I then kissed her on the lips... and afterwards? Daxter looked on in shock at how the Muse then turned from her original look to that of a genie! One that had the tail on her, but no lamp to work with at all. Her lower form was almost like a bunch of clouds and her upper half was that of a stereotypical genie attire. But she also had hair that was done up to look like it were filled with wind, constantly flowing in a breeze that surrounded her!
"WHOA! What the hell happened to the Muse?!" Daxter asked in shock.
"This is my true form, Daxter... and I must apologize to you... it appears this island claimed another victim, and I didn't notice until I was given my form back by miss Dora," Musette smiled as she looked at me and picked me up... because Musette, when floating, was about 8 foot tall. "I know it wasn't love as in romance, but isn't it great how loopholes work? Even familial love or the love of a pet and their trusted owner would be enough... I will proceed to Sandover from here to give mister Sculptor the news... he might not believe me at first, but that's to be expected," she smiled. "Until we meet again, miss Dora," she said, her then literally flying in the sky like she were a kite and all the way over the ocean!
"Um... not what I expected, to be honest," Daxter said, me then simply giving him a kiss as well.
"It wasn't romance, and I certainly didn't expect it'd work, but at least her curse has been lifted. She was cursed by a bad person on this very island to be the Muse. She's a genie in reality, apparently... I wonder how the Sculptor will react to seeing her new form? Love at first sight? Or disbelief?" I smiled.
"He's definitely going to be in for a shock, that's for sure," Daxter chuckled as we then explored further around the place, me going towards the east first, where we found a Power Cell only able to be obtained by a Blue Eco platform, which I proceeded to grab some from the air and put it into the device as I stood on it. Daxter didn't notice anything weird until we were on the platform over the water that held the Power Cell.
"Hey! How did you get that thing moving?" Daxter asked.
"The Oracle that I talked to? He taught me how to use blue eco from a further distance away, by luring it to me. I simply magnetized some from another area on the island to come to me, and thus, instant blue juice," I smirked.
"That's neat! So that's the interesting stuff he was telling you, huh? Cool!" Daxter smiled.
"And to get that power, I had to solve a tough riddle," I smirked as I pocketed the Power Cell and did a corny dance with Daxter popping out of my shirt to do the dance as well. As for my newest dance? I grabbed the Power Cell, rolled it across my arms and then flicked it into my bag. Yeah, my dexterity was unfathomable, since training with Grandpa Samos.
"Nice skills! Welp, back to protection!" Dax smirked as he hopped back in, but this time, it was face-first, which he then started to struggle when he saw my belly button. I simply picked him out and fixed his verticality so he was heads-up.
"Thanks. Your belly button smells rancid," he frowned, me then grabbing his ear and pulling on it. "Ack! Hey, cut it out!"
"Nevah. Tell a woman that she smells rancid," I frowned at him. "But credit where it's due, it does. So do all innies, since they're the ones that collect lint and germs," I frowned. "I honestly prefer innie bellybuttons, though, since outies look like they're mini dicks," I smirked, which Daxter snickered at. "Yep, you know who I'm talking about, don't you?" I smiled.
"You've seen Jak's proboscus, then?" he smirked.
"That's one way to describe his massive outie, sure," I laughed, us then getting to the area with the big silo of Dark Eco, which we then beat up an ambush of Lurkers with some Red Eco that was in a bunch of crates, which, when inside my body, I was able to use them to increase my strength to the point I could crush skulls, as well as use the elements of fire and also increase my gravity so that I could use stronger hits and shake the ground when I moved! I did the last bit so I could smash my feet through the steel containers, gaining the orbs within as well as a singular Power Cell. And after this, we then got to the giant tower and got the Power Cell from that, but we also used the cannon at the top to send blasts of Dark Eco Bombs to different parts of the island we'd explored so far, which I blasted those bits to crumble the walkway even further! And after doing this, I felt the island begin to quiver at how... water was coming through the place? I immediately proceeded to use the powers of Blue Eco to jump off the top of the structure and send all the Orbs to my location from a 30 feet radius of me. It did NOT work for Scout Fly boxes or Power Cells, however, so I had to get a move on and grab all of them in the process!
And I had to be quick, as I only had 1 minute to do this! I slammed my feet into the water and ran across it, slamming my body into the Lurker balloon operators as they were trying to save the cargo, nabbing a Power Cell from the last one of them. I found the final Scout Fly and its Power Cell by the edge of the island I had yet to access, the one floating in the air by the Lurker balloons, and I found one final Power Cell that floated from the water after a majority of the island was completely sunk into the water! And once I grabbed this final one, I booked it for the Speed Boat, me jumping into it and revving the engine back home, which the Lurker Sharks were following me the whole time. And I couldn't use Blue Eco anymore, because I used up a total of 59.5 seconds total! If I used anymore before the recharge of 2 minutes had passed, I didn't know if I'd get the side effects.
"That... was... AMAZING!" Daxter smiled from my shirt as he hopped onto dry land when we finally got back to shore. "We just SANK Misty Island! TAKE THAT, YOU STUPID LURKERS! HAHAHAHA!" he laughed out loud, us then getting the attention of Samos and Keira afterwards, where we saw that Jak was just coming back from Sentinel Beach alongside the Bird Lady and the baby Flutflut.
"You did WHAT?!" Samos asked in shock as he looked into the distance and gawked. "You really did! This village may be safe yet!" Samos smirked.
"We still need to find Gol so he can fix Daxter, though. How many Power Cells do we have now?" Keira asked, me and Jak tallying our list of collected Power Cells and orbs, where we found that we had enough orbs to trade with the Oracle as well as more than enough Power Cells to power the Zoomer's heat shield, a grand total of 31.
"We have more than enough! I'll take 20 of them ahead to power the Zoomer's Heat Shield. Just need to put the finishing touches on it," Keira smirked as we then proceeded to go to the Sculptor's place and we saw that he was in there and he was looking at the Muse with a smile.
"Hey there, guys... how's things going?" I asked them.
"I'm... I'm almost speechless... my Muse was a genie this whole time? It's a bit of a culture shock," he admitted.
"We agreed we'd just be friends, since, now that I'm back to my old self, I can't die from old age and the only thing that could kill me is Dark Eco," she smiled.
"My question is... how did you get cursed to be a Muse in the first place?" Jak asked her via sign, me about to translate before she spoke.
"Ah, Jak, I can answer that by saying I was born as a genie around the same time the Precursors vanished, almost 10 thousand years ago... And not even I know what they look like. All I know is that my magic is tied to the power of nature itself, much like Samos. The difference is that mine is tied to the wind, while his is tied to plants," she said, me looking at Jak and him gawking at that.
"Huh, someone else who can understand Jak? It's a pleasure meeting you, miss... what's your name now?" Keira asked her.
"I am now Musette. I'll stay behind in Sandover to protect it, just in case the Lurkers wish to counter-attack the town for what we did to their island," Muse smiled as the Sculptor gave me the Power Cell.
"A deal's a deal, and you did that and then some. I'm feeling very inspired after learning this," the Sculptor smirked as he then got to work on another slab of rock. I then disbanded from the main group and, while Keira went ahead to Fire Canyon to finish work on the Zoomer, I led myself, Jak, and Daxter to the Oracle, where we proceeded to feed it 240 Precursor Orbs, which he then produced both of the Power Cells from his eyes. And with all of us together, we proceeded to do a corny triple dance, where we grabbed the Power Cells, we fist bumped with them, and then slammed the Power Cells into each others' bags, all while Daxter did the macarena!
"THAT DANCE WAS EXTREMELY BIZARRE FOR THESE OLD EYES TO HAVE WITNESSED," the Oracle spoke.
"Oi! Don't spy on our awesome dancing!" I pouted at him as we then rushed off. It was time to go for a ride in the Fire Canyon.
Meanwhile, looking over the demise of Misty Island, two beings touched and corrupted by Dark Eco were at a loss for words.
"This is more than just a setback. All of that wonderful Precursor Technology, sunk beneath the endless waves!" the male of the duo shouted in anger before taking a gasp for breath.
"Easy, brother, you're getting worked up again. I'm upset, too. I certainly didn't expect that short bitch to sink all of Misty Island! And with our own cannon, too! We just need to act smarter, that's all," the female of the duo smiled.
"Indeed... we'll need to make their trip harder and focus all of our strengths on going after the short woman... what's her name? Dora, right?" the male asked.
"Indeed. Such a wimpy name for such a strong warrior. We need to up our efforts into rising that Precursor Robot in the Boggy Swamp. Such a pristine work of ancient architecture, just waiting for us to control it! We just need to think of a way to increase the power of the Lurker Balloons."
"Well... why not fight fire with fire?" We can make a device that can react to Eco usage from a far distance. If we place it near the robot, it'll make the muck move further and further away!"
"Ingenious! I believe we have something that could work with that! By the time she reaches the last of the fetters, the robot will be completely unearthed and we can use it to rule this world!" And with a hearty cackle from both of them, they proceeded to set the plans in place. They would succeed, no matter what trickery that stupid short-ear would try out.
