Chapter 52
Lucas wrapped the towel around himself. He looked to Brooke.
"I don't get it. I thought we were ready and working towards reuniting and getting back on track."
"Was i wrong?" Brooke asked. Pulling on her robe.
"No you weren't. This is about me. I need to be honest with you."
"You're too important to me to just lose myself in what i want."
"I'm sure you don't remember her. Nikki. From high school." Lucas started to say.
"The name rings a bell but what does she have to do with you?" Brooke asked.
"We met up when i was out in town. During my down time."
"I invited her to my room and we raided the mini bar. Talked."
"I just needed you to know nothing else happened there." Lucas explained.
Brooke's eyes went wide. The expression on her face softened.
"I should go change." Brooke replied.
"You don't have too." Lucas insisted.
"Yes i do. I should let you get dressed." Brooke replied.
"Brooke. Baby. Look at me." Lucas said. Reaching out to her.
"I'm going to change then check on Tegan. I'm going to head back to the store tommorow." Brooke said.
Lucas sighed deeply. The energy in the room shifted.
He knew his wife. Deep down she wasn't okay with this.
He had experiences with others in his past.
But he was all she had ever known. She had given herself to him. Fully long ago. He was her first and only.
It was all so sensitive and delicate. Her trust and belief in him.
He didn't want that to change.
