I now have a Ko-Fi for Donations. I don't take requests/commissions, but if you can support me through it, then it would be awesome.

Juria is a scary entity. Something that was moments away from embracing Yandereism.
And someone I couldn't exactly 'handle' on my own.
Hence why I had long had someone to aid me in this time of need. Someone that had been with me for a year now and, despite not asking, was responsible of making me bentos and other meals at home.
"I am home."
My greeting was met with general silence, but the reason I didn't get an answer was tied to this individual being busy prepping dinner. It took her months to adapt to modernity, and while she was far from being the ultimate house'wife', the humming kitsune that was currently waltzing left and right by the stoves was somewhat a well-meaning and earnest cook.
White hair kept in a ponytail, yellow mesmerizing slitted eyes, and... well, she was a woman. A busty woman. A busty woman that was a couple centuries my senior. I met Yuki-san by her half-ruined shrine after helping some acquaintance in town with it.
The old guy was the owner of the land as the shrine had been vacated decades ago due to the US Raids on Tokyo back in WW2. The place was mostly desolate, but the elder planned to move away all debris so that he could make a family manor as a last gift for his grandkids.
So, I had been there to move things around and... I found the little fox statue that contained Yuki-san. The idea of 'making a deal' with a fox demon sounded stupid even back then, but after chatting with the 'wrathful' spirit, we kind of realized something as we were talking.
"Oh, I forgot."
"You forgot?!"
It would seem that centuries of inactivity and being ignored had left the 'very cunning' fox-lady unable to remember why she got stuck where she was. It was a punishment but... for what? All that she could recollect was that she deserved the punishment to some extent but she couldn't think of what could have occurred to lead to that point.
"I mean, is there a point in keeping you there?"
And she had nothing to say at that question. So I freed her.
She was surprised, but the old man was equally surprised when he was introduced to a fairly gorgeous woman. He was busy looking at her 'curvaceous' personality rather than the pair of foxy ears and the fluffy fox tails behind her rear.
Still, it was her appearance that truly perplexed me- not the fact she was a kitsune, but the outfit she was wearing as it looked like one of those worn by miko priestesses.

"Are you sure you were sealed away for being bad? I mean, you look like you owned the place."
Yuki had absolutely no rebuttal to that, and I pretty much gave her the most unexpected existential crisis she had ever faced on our way back. Ignoring the awed look she had over the car and its purpose, the woman preferred to sit by the couch, enjoy the warmth of my home and... then we planned what to do next.
We pretty much agreed to be 'housemates', that she could stay around if she could do the basic chores while I was out for work. She didn't need to pay rent, but I expected her to not be a leech for the humble abode I gave her. And, slowly but surely (with numerous horrifying discoveries she made about the modern era and its many devices), Yuki 'understood' how life went in modern Japan.
Perhaps way too much at times.
A case of the kind was right now as I got close to her to speak over the situation with Juria when-
"What are you doing? Didn't I tell you to wait until I am done rather than approach me while I am cooking? Do you want to face a scorned kitsune of old, you cheeky boy?"

"Yuki, I wanted to ask you-"
"Can wait. Too busy. Leave before I hit you with the wooden spoon!"
The woman took to heart the nature of being a house'wife' to the point of pretty much being an Asian Mom without a child to her name. So yes, I retreated upon such a terrifying sight, and waited for the meal to be served.
It was all strictly Japanese, but there were times where Yuki decided to give a look to other countries' dishes. Call it curiosity, or maybe it was genuinely an interest to be more flexible with her cuisine, but Yuki loved being 'brazen' by the stoves.
And I got proof of that that one time when I caught her trying to set them on fire to get the electric system turned on by the power of the flame.
"So, what did you want to nag me about, Shunichi?"
"I had to call Juria. Again."
The kitsune scowled, her foxy ears twitching. "Truly? And I suppose you want me to tell the poor girl that you are not planning to date her anytime soon?"
"Don't turn this into a case of me being a womanizer. I never gave her the attitude to think of this."
"And do you expect a young Kitsune such as her to just stand idle with a lord-like man such as yourself?" Yuki argued back, snorting. "You truly are unprepared to handle womanly attempts, aren't you?"
"I just find the need to settle with someone at this moment unimportant."
"...Why?"
I blinked as I realized what I had just said and the perplexed look Yuki was giving me. It took me just a moment to notice how this was the first time this very topic was broached in the year-long friendship I had with Yuki so... I decided to be a bit honest on the matter.
"My job requires me to be too strict to ever be softened. The moment I let these brats get too much freedom will spell the doom for my school."
"I think you're being too silly about it."
"Remember what happened two months ago?" I didn't even need to be too specific about 'what' occurred as the time frame was enough to get the kitsune shuddering.
"Y-Yeah, I still can't believe that one of the students just traumatized that coach of yours. I always thought women would be disgusted by fat ugly men but..."
"Some girls see freaky shit in the internet and gets into that. And with hypnosis apps being a threat despite being banned-"
"It's ever so difficult to keep an eye out for the unexpected twerp to use them. I know, you told me many times and..." Yuki closed her eyes a moment, then gave me a serious look. "I get it. I know your job is less about pleasure and more about duty, but I don't think it would be wrong for you to give Juria a little bit of 'honesty'. I am not asking you to date her out of pity, but I can't be your mother about it and tell her to try again next time."
...
"I will consider it."
"You better do," Yuki hummed, taking a moment to take another bite from her Hayashi. "So, what caused the issue? I thought that you had the current magical girls under check."
"They weren't behind it. One of my students just learned he is a 'Gamer'."
"Oh yes. That peculiar thing that makes you like... a silly game thing," The Kitsune replied with a sense of disgust. "I can't believe someone would think of it as a good idea. Especially with how regular magic can overrule such a silly trait."
"Dumb people exists," I remarked and Yuki nodded. "What about your day?"
"Oh you know, fighting with the Vacuum Cleaner, cleaning around and telling two scammer calls off."
"Scammers?" I inquired and the woman nodded.
"The first one was about a warrancy you have with an English Company."
Which I don't.
"And the other one was something about an inheritance from your grandfather, but you told me that you don't have any alive."
I nodded and... paused. "Not that I know. Maybe this one could be real, but I will have to ask my parents."
After getting in this new world, I had spent a bit learning about my family. Anything that could make me concerned about any surprises coming from them but... my parents were the only ones that were around of our family and I had no known extended family to be made aware of.
Yuki nodded, and we continued dinner uninterrupted. Once we were done eating, I helped her clean the dishes and got to the couch to watch some TV before going to sleep. Truth be told, it was Yuki that watched some show while I tended to her tails with a brooch.
She liked to be pampered once in a while, and after a lengthy day, we both deserved some 'care': she got to have her tails cared for, and I got to 'pet' something floffy and soft to the touch. It was the last memorable thing of each day.
My home was my shelter, and it was even safer thanks to Yuki being around to put wards to keep magical troublemakers away from its perimeter. So, this was just... peace.
And then it was time for bed. Yuki had her room to retreat to, so I was soon wandering off into mine, getting ready to sleep, and went to catch myself some shut eye.
Tomorrow was going to be a tough one anyway, but perhaps it wasn't going to be as bad as I am so worried about.
AN
Or maybe it's going to be worse. Just saying.
