Matters Of The Heart
Chapter 58
A wise man once told me.
Family doesn't end in blood.
Brooke stood there wide eyed. She thought she would be flooding with questions. Anger. Frustration.
But really she was just confused.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Brooke asked.
Glenda swallowed hard. "How could I? After everything that happened involving him."
"I never wanted to bring this up."
"But Mackenzie is older now and she's been asking about her father. I can't keep this from her anymore."
"This is why i've kept my life so private. Why i told Marvin her father can never know she exist."
"Why i stopped dating years ago. You can't let someone into you're life in a real way. Keeping a secret like this." Glenda explained.
"You've wanted Mouth since he showed up on you're door. When you moved back." Brooke replied.
"None of that matters." "Are we going to be okay?" Glenda asked.
"We will be. How did this happen?" Brooke asked.
Glenda looked at her. "He drugged my drink. I think he got rejected alot that night and decided it wasn't going to happen again." She confessed.
The expression on Brooke's face softened. She engulfed Glenda into a hug.
Glenda hugged her back. Sobbing softly.
...

The two had been dating a year now.
She had her dad's complexion and mom's brown/blond hair. Dark eyes.
Axel leaned over to kiss her.
