Chapter 100 – Fun In The Snow
When Ines and Leia were reaching downstairs, Reed and Luma were entering inside the house, wearing really warm coats and gloves.
"Hey look who decided to pay a visit?" Ines claimed, putting Lukey on the floor, who ran towards Luma and Reed right away.
"Hey sweetie, look how big you are!" Luma said smiling at 19 months old toddler.
Luke grabbed their hand and started to "drag" them towards the big Life Day tree near the fireplace.
"Loo, Tee!" he said pointing at it, making Reed smiling.
"I see. It is a very beautiful tree, right?" he asked laughing when Lukey nod all happy.
"He really love the trees," Luma smiled at Ines and hugged her and Leia.
"Jeez, you are cold!" Leia exclaimed when they kissed each other on the cheeks.
"Oh it cold and guess what kids, it is start to snowing!"
The moment they heard that, the kids gasped.
"Really?" Alli said right away and looked at her parents.
"Can we go play outside?" Padmé asked exactly what her twin sister was thinking.
"I thought you want to help me to take breakfast to Pappy Ruwee?" Amidala asked them.
"How about after we give the breakfast?" Alli asked looking at Luke and Ines.
Luke glare at his wife with a smile on his face.
"Of course we can. But you need to put warm clothes first."
"Can we too?" Ani and Bail asked at the same time.
"Of course you can, kiddos," Han replied smiling at his sons.
Luma looked at them with a questions look on her face.
"Are your grandparents here already?"
"Yes, grandfather was sick with the beginning of a pneumonia, so Luke and Ines thought it was better if they come with them right now." Leia explained to her friend.
"At least he will be watched and take care of it by all of us," Ines nod agreeing.
Luma gasped when she heard he was sick.
"He is okay now?"
"He slept better, and I'm about to bring them breakfast with my little helpers!" Amidala said, standing up and grabbing a tray.
"Can I go, I want to see them!" Luma asked.
"Of course!"
And they all went upstairs while Reed stayed with others downstairs talking about the last few weeks.
An Hour Later:
Everyone was at the moment, outside. The snow was starting to fall quiet heavier and the ground was started to get full white.
Being used to snow, the adults were laughing and smiling because the kids were very happy since it was the first time they saw snow and they were having blast, seeing the flocks of snow falling from the sky and surround them everywhere.
"This is sooo cool!" Bail said running, being followed by his twin.
"Kids be careful to not fall," Leia warned them but she had a big smile on her face.
Seeing her kids and nieces laughing, she remembers the good times she had playing in the snow as a kid.
Feeling someone getting closer to her, she looked to her right and saw Ines.
"This brings memories, right?"
"Oh yeah, Very good memories!" Leia smiled at her sister in law.
"Not for me," Han said right away. "This reminds that awful planet where the fact that I didn't freeze my butt was a miracle!"
"Me neither, all I can think was that big Wampa!" Luke nod.
Leia and Ines glare at each other and even Gracy and Dan knew exactly what they were about to do.
"Oh boy!" Dan said right away stepping away with his wife who started to laughed. She knew them very well.
"What?" Han frowned.
Luke was also wondering what his brother and sister in law were stepping away, when all of the sudden, he felt something cold hitting the back on his head.
Looking back to the source, he saw Ines with another snow ball on her hands and she was laughing.
"Nice shot kid," Han said laughing but was not for long, when a snow ball hit right in the face.
The kids, who were running, stop doing it and started to laugh.
Cleaning his face, Han glare at Leia and Ines.
"Oh is that how it is going?" he said bending down and grabbed an amount of snow and making a snow ball, he throw at them, who duck right away.
"Miss!" Leia said and looking Ines, they both said at the same time.
"Snow fight!" and they all started to throw snow balls at each other, and not even Dan and Gracy escape, when Ines hit her brother right in the face.
"You are dead meat young lady!" Dan said and he join Han and Luke.
"Come on kids, get them!" Gracy said helping them.
Hitting her husband on the head, Luke glare at her.
"You think you are winning, my dear wife?" he asked. "You will see!"
Raising his arms, many snow balls started to form and raise from the ground and with a gesture, the balls flew towards them fast.
"Hey that is cheating mister!" Leia screamed.
"Yeah you can use the force!" Ines nod and look at her kids. "Let's get Papa!" she said, making Luke laughed when the kids ran towards him, and they all fell on the ground with the two set of twins and Lukey all got on top of him, making Luke laugh all happy.
After a while, they decided to get inside with Lukey, while the kids wanted to stay a little longer, being watch by Dan.
They were all sitting by the fireplace talking with Luma and Reed who decided to stay for lunch, when Ben entered inside the house and start to take off his jacket.
"Tired of playing kid?" Han asked his nephew who glare at him
"Yeah!" he replied heading upstairs, making Luke and Ines looked at each other right away. They knew right there something happened.
"If you all excuse us," Luke said and standing up, he grabbed Ines hand and they head upstairs, to Ben and Lukey's bedroom, finding their older son, sitting on the bed, looking at a book, but they knew he was not really paying attention to it.
Sitting on the bed, Ines made Ben look at her.
"What is going?"
"Nothing!" the 6 years old replied, looking back at the book.
"Ben, your mother and I know you way to well, buddy. What happened?" Luke asked him.
"You know you can talk to your father and I, anytime you want. You can trust us!"
The almost 7 years old boy, sighed and looked at his parents.
"Am I a freak?"
Ines glare are her husband with wide eyes and in shocked that her boy said that.
"Who told you that?" she asked right away.
"Nobody."
"Then why do you think that, son?" Luke asked sitting next to him and wrapped his left arm around his son.
"Because I don't play like the others kids of my age. I prefer to be inside, reading my books and do other stuff," he said looking at him. "Am I normal?"
Ines sat next to him too, and kissed the top of his head.
"Of course you are. Don't ever think any other way!" she said smiling. "You just are not the type of kid that like what other kids love to do, and playing like hide and seek or with snow balls are not your kind of thing."
"That's why I don't have friends. They think I'm boring!"
"You have friends. I see you in the Temple with your class mates!" Luke told him.
"But when we are doing cool things, like seeing books or find things that happened in history. They never asked me to play games with them." Ben sighed.
"Because they know you are not a play type of kid and they respect you." Luke tried to explain to him.
"But why can't I like what other kids my age like?" he asked.
Pulling him closer to her, Ines sighed.
"Well because your brain thinks differently than theirs!"
"So I am a freak!"
"No, you are not," she said right away.
"What mom is trying to explain is that you are what people call gifted. And trust me sweetie, there are a lot of other kids like you."
"Your brain thinks differently, because your IQ is higher than normal kids. And that is not a bad thing. That is why you learned how to read on your own at the age of 4."
"And you are so good with the force too. Cause you brain is faster and you can process things quicker than others," Luke told.
"What we mean is, you are what many people call genius and prodigy child," Ines said smiling when Ben smiled.
"I like that!" he said.
"And it is normal that you are like that, after all don't forget that your own grandfather built 3PO when he was 9. He was a genius child too." Luke informed.
"Yeah! And you also built your own T-16 at a young age. That is not what a normal child does, right?"
"Yes you can say that. But there are two diferences between us and you?"
"What?"
"We had friends because we had fun with them. Your grandfather played with his friends and so did I. You can play too, son!"
"Yeah, your father is right. You have all the time of the world to be and act like an adult when you become one," Ines said smiling. "You are 6, just enjoy while you can, cause trust me, you will miss when you grow up."
Ben laughed at that.
"But they don't want to play snow ball with me. They said I was boring."
"Oh, by they you mean your sisters and cousins. That's what was all about!" Luke replied, smiling when Ben nod.
"Well then show them how cool you can be. You are very good with the force, show them how to make a snow ball with it. I'm sure they will find so cool, and want you to teach them." Ines said.
"Remember how Padmé was so happy that you taught her how to throw the rock on the water?" Luke asked, making Ben nod.
"Come on, you are on vacations. It is time to have fun, cause we don't see snow in Coruscant and Tatooine!" Ines said standing up.
Putting the book aside and after make sure their kid was warm again, they went outside when the kids were still playing with Uncle Dan.
"Hey buddy, glad you came back!" Dan said to his nephew.
"Yeah, we need to have a little talk to these 4," Luke said looking at the twins. "Can someone tell me who call your brother and cousin, boring?"
The kids look at each other and all raised their hands.
"Well that is not very nice," Dan said. "I'm sorry I didn't listen that!" he said to Luke and Ines, who nod assuring it was okay.
"You know that is wrong." Ines said putting the hands on her hips. "You apologize to your brother and cousin right now."
The approached Ben and hugged him.
"I'm sorry." Padmé said.
"We didn't mean it," Ani replied too.
"It is okay. You guys are right, sometimes I am boring, but I can teach you to do this," and with force he made a snow ball and through at his uncle, who frown.
"Hey!"
The twins all laughed.
"Cool!" Bail said.
"Brother can we teach us, please?" Alli said wrapping her arms around her older brother's waist.
"Sure."
"Hey that is not fair, I don't have the force. That is cheating. 5 against 1," Dan said but he was laughing at the kids.
Luke and Ines looked at each and also laughed at the scene.
"10 more minutes and then you get inside for lunch and you need to change some clothes. Until then, you can torture your uncle."
"Hey," Dan said making Luke laughed when all the kids all jump onto Dan laughing.
