"My lord," said Trexold Peretray. "We have an incoming distress call from Ryboth."
"Patch it through." Said Commander Sirae Karagon of the Red Scorpions Space Marines chapter.
"Mayday, mayday." The message began. The Commander listened intently at the human voice asking for aid, remaining paused after its completion.
"Sons of Perturabo." He finally said after a pregnant silence with all eyes in the room diverted to him. The Commander had been unofficially and newly appointed to his position after the revered Lord High Commander Culn was interred into the sarcophagus of a Relic Leviathan Dreadnought. Commander Karagon had quite the reputation to live up to. He stood aboard the bridge of the Arx Fidelis frozen in stoicism as his battle brothers watched in silence for a response; in part, judging the Commanders wisdom against that of the relic dreadnaught recently interned.
He tapped the tip of the relic blade, passed on to him after he was voted into his new appointment as his red robe flowed around his grey Terminator armour. Air pumped into the space from the ships' systems blew the robe slightly as if caught slightly by a natural breeze. Those systems were the only noises on the bridge and a pregnant eeriness overtook the moment.
"Prepare for planet fall," said the Commander as Cassan Sabius raised an eyebrow. The Commander picked up on the gesture.
"Do you 'disagree' with my course of action Commander Sabius?" Asked Commander Karagon.
"No brother. I admire it!" Replied the second, unofficially appointed yet equally recognised commander of the Red Scorpions chapter.
"Good!" Said Karagon. "Then make haste." He began.
"Prepare the Lor-'' he stopped himself mid sentence and once again all eyes were on him. His eyes turned Commander Sabius' who pinned them there with his gaze.
"Perhaps Brother Geltus would be better placed for a mission in this particular theatre of war?" Asked Sabius.
"Perhaps you're right." Said Karagon.
"Allow the Lord High Commander his slumber. He will see war soon enough. Awaken brother Geltus." And with that command, the menials on the bridge nodded a bowl to Karagon, Sabius and the other Astarte's present and went upon their tasks to prepare for war. Commander Sabius finally unpinned his eyes from Commander Karagon.
"A good call brother." He said, placing his gauntlet on Karagon's pauldron. Commander Karagon nodded and set about his tasks.
