Couriway Town
After their week off in Cyllage City, the group return to Anistar City to continue on their journey to Snowbelle City where they intend to win their final badges.
"You guys ready to win our last badges?" asked Kevin.
"Yeah!" replied Jonny, Rolf, and Kevin. Kevin gets on his bike and the group began going down south until they reached the gate; they walked through it and found themselves on Route 18. Kevin takes out his Dowsing Machine and begins pointing it around the area when it detected something.
"Hey, my Dowsing Machine found something." said Kevin. He gets off his bike and follows the beams from the Dowsing Machine and walks towards where they're pointing; seconds later, he found an empty pokeball. "Hey, a pokeball." He picks it up off the ground.
"Now who would be careless enough to leave one laying around?" asked Nazz.
"Don't know." replied Kevin. The group suddenly hears rustling coming from tall grass nearby; they look to see a metal, antlike Pokemon walking out of the grass.
"What's that?" asked Nazz as she takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Durant, the Iron Ant Pokemon. They attack in groups, covering themselves in steel armor to protect themselves from Heatmor." said the pokedex. Rolf frowns at the mention of Heatmor due to his rival, Austin having one. Kevin looks at the empty pokeball in his hand, then at the Durant.
"Well, since I have a pokeball, might as well use it now." said Kevin as he takes a pokeball out of his pocket; he tosses it, releasing his Talonflame.
"Go for it, dude!" said Nazz.
"Okay, Talonflame, use Ember!" shouts Kevin. Talonflame flaps his wings, releasing bits of fire from them; they hit the Durant, doing super effective damage. The Durant responds by leaping at Talonflame and chomps on him with its mandibles, which weakens his defense. "Now use Peck!" Talonflame flies at the Durant and jabs it with his beak, knocking it onto its back.
"Catch it, Kevin!" says Jonny. Kevin nods and takes out an empty pokeball; he throws it at the Durant, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks.
"Kevin has done it!" said Rolf.
"Awesome." said Kevin. Durant's pokeball teleports to storage. Nazz looks up the Durant's information on the pokedex.
"Okay, this says that Durant's a girl, she knows Guillotine, Iron Defense, Metal Sound, Vice Grip, Sand Attack, Fury Cutter, Bite, Agility, Metal Claw, Bug Bite, Crunch, Iron Head, and Dig; she also has the Swarm ability which makes her bug moves stronger if she's weakened enough." said Nazz.
As they travelled, the group took their time to train their Pokemon.
Jonny's Chesnaught learned Body Slam, his Linoone learned Slash, his Charizard learned Flamethrower, his Ninjask learned Baton Pass, his Krookodile learned Sandstorm, and his Clawitzer learned Aqua Jet.
Rolf's Delphox learned Will-O-Wisp, his Diggersby learned Bounce and Super Fang, his Pidgeot got stronger, his Beedrill learned Fell Stinger, his Blastoise learned Iron Defense, and his Gogoat learned Horn Leech.
Kevin's Pokemon got stronger, and his Tyrantrum learned Earthquake.
Nazz's Florges got stronger, her Farfetch'd learned False Swipe, her Pyroar got stronger, her Gardevoir learned Imprison, her Dedenne learned Thunder, and her Corsola learned Mirror Coat.
The group continued to travel down Route 18 when they were approached by a teenage boy.
"Hey; would any of you like a one-on-one Pokemon battle with me?" asked the boy. Jonny steps forward.
"You bet I would." replied Jonny. He and the teenager soon stood several feet from each other while Kevin, Rolf, and Nazz watched.
"Go, Linoone!" said Jonny as he throws Linoone's pokeball and releases him.
"Torkoal, come out!" said the teenager, throwing a pokeball and releasing a reddish-brown, tortoise like Pokemon with a black shell. Nazz points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Torkoal, the Coal Pokemon. It burns coal inside its shell for energy. It blows out black soot if it is endangered." said the pokedex. Linoone and Torkoal faced each other.
"Linoone, Tail Whip!" said Jonny. Linoone runs at Torkoal and wags his tail onto it, weakening its defense.
"Flamethrower!" said Torkoal's trainer. Torkoal fires a stream of fire out of its mouth, and it hits Linoone, damaging him.
"Linoone, Headbutt!" said Jonny. Linoone runs at Torkoal and rams his head into Torkoal's, damaging him, and making it flinch. "Now use Slash!" Linoone swings his front paw and claws Torkoal across its face.
"Body Slam!" said Torkoal's trainer. Torkoal jumps up and lands hard on Linoone, damaging him; static surounded Linoone's body. "Ha! Looks like Linoone's paralyzed."
"You can do it, Linoone!" said Jonny. Linoone lets out a cry and the static dispersed from his body.
"What?!" exclaimed Torkoal's trainer.
"Linoone, Headbutt!" said Jonny. Linoone rams Torkoal with his head, making Torkoal flinch again. "Fury Swipes, Linoone!" Linoone repeatedly claws Torkoal; it falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Torkoal!" exclaimed Torkoal's trainer.
"Great job, Linoone." said Jonny. Linoone lets out a relieved sigh.
"Way to go, man." said Kevin.
"Jonny has done well." said Rolf. Torkoal's trainer returns Torkoal to its pokeball; he puts it away and walks over to Jonny.
"Good battle." said Torkoal's trainer.
"Thanks." replied Jonny. Torkoal's trainer gives Jonny pokedollars and walks away. After Jonny returns Linoone to his pokeball, the group continued to travel down Route 18; soon, they arrived at Couriway Town.
"Wow! Look at this place." said Nazz. Everyone looked in awe at the waterfalls surrounding the town, and all the canals that had boats going down them.
"Dudes, we're seeing so much awesome stuff on this journey." said Kevin.
"Rolf is also amazed." said Rolf.
"Kevin, Rolf, Jonny, Nazz." they hear a familiar voice call to them; they turn to see Professor Sycamore walking to them.
"Hey, Professor Sycamore." said Nazz.
"I've heard about how you all stopped Team Flare from wiping out everyone in Kalos." said Professor Sycamore. "And Kevin, I can't believe you actually caught Yveltal."
"Yeah; that Master Ball was awesome." replied Kevin.
"You four have truly come a long way as trainers since you arrived here in Kalos." said Professor Sycamore.
"We each need just one more badge and we can compete in the Kalos League." said Jonny.
"Well, I'll let you four continue on with your journey." said Professor Sycamore. He turns and walks away.
"Come on, guys; we've got a gym to challenge." said Kevin, making the others nod in group begin walking south of Couriway Town on their way to Snowbelle City where their final gym battles awaits them.
