The Avengers were surprised to say the least when one day in mid-autumn it had started to snow. Heavily. They didn't understand what had happened to cause it to snow before winter had even started. People on the news were in agreement, it seems.
"We do not know what has changed from the original forecast for today, but it seems we are now having a snow day." One reporter said.
Their partner continues, a smile on their face. "Of course, George. It would seem that because of the snow, no school has their parking lots cleared. So, all schools in New York have been closed for the day."
While they were watching the news, Thor went to his room to grab the winter clothes that Tony had bought for him as it would be his first winter on Earth. Once he came back he announced his departure for Central Park. Tony and Steve had talked about some of the best things to do and places to go in New York during winter time. One of those was the ice rink in Central Park.
Everyone eyed each other for a moment after Thor had left, as if realizing what the God had just said. That was before all scrambling to get up and get their coats on to follow him. They didn't know if he'd be fine going on his own, but they also didn't want to take the chance that he wasn't. Due to the schools being closed, there were most likely going to be many children there today and none of them wanted Thor to accidentally hurt one.
It didn't take them long to find Thor once they arrived at the rink, but what they were surprised by was who was sitting next to him on a bench. Loki. Loki was right there, in New York. From the looks of things he was helping Thor put the skates that the God definitely didn't have with him before leaving.
Steve decided that they should stay back for now, let them do what they're doing. Gather intel, that's how Steve put it. However, the blonde also looked like he didn't want to break up a possible brotherly activity. Clint didn't agree, he was grumbling about Loki being dangerous and how he wouldn't be doing anything good. Natasha and Bruce agreed with Steve. Though, Tony thinks Natasha only agreed because it genuinely would give her intel. Bruce simply didn't like the idea of engaging with so many breakable civilians in the area. Tony agreed with all of those things.
Most would think he wouldn't care, but he does. Even if he doesn't know the feeling himself, he knows. That is why he agreed.
So, they stood back and watched as Loki helped Thor to stand up. It took the blonde God a moment before he got his balance, but he finally got the hang of things. They watched as the green-clad God taught Thor how to do the basics of ice-skating. Even Clint couldn't hold back a small smile at how happy the brothers were.
That was until Thor made a turn, and saw all of them there. Watching the two. He looked uncomfortable then turned back to Loki. None of them could hear what was being said, but Thor started skating over to the edge of the rink where the group was.
"Hello, friends. What brings you all here?" he asked, a bright grin on his face.
Steve spoke up before anyone else could, luckily as Clint had opened his mouth and Tony didn't know if that would go down good or not. "We wanted to come with you since this would be your first time here." Thor nods in understanding.
None of them could say another word because Bruce gasped, pointing behind Thor towards Loki who was skating around the rink. They watched as he spun in the air and glided with grace and elegance. Thor was continuing to grin with love filling his eyes. It was an amazing sight, no one could deny that.
And none of them did. They stood back and watched as the once mad God had the absolute time of his life.
