Chapter 6 Shadows and Respect.
Hey readers, here is the next chapter of the story. I hope you enjoy it. I also have a quick question regarding one of my other stories, A RWBY Intervention. I am currently trying to think of an epilogue for it, and I was wondering if it's better to show or tell the story. With that said, I hope you enjoy reading this chapter.
A green fire ignited southwest of Hogwarts, turning red and shooting up to form a gateway. Several individuals stumbled out of the gateway and Mercury asked, "Can someone tell me why we were sent through?"
Tyrion replied with an insane chuckle, "Because our goddess told us to, Mr. Black." Mercury snarked, "Really? I don't see our missing train anywhere," as Hazel broke them up.
"Enough, children. The sooner we find the lamp, the faster we can leave," he said deeply.
Arthur noticed another comrade looking over a hill where he saw a small village below and asked Ms. Sustrai, "Do you recognize anyone down there?" He passed her a pair of binoculars, and she noticed that the residents in the village were dressed in clothes that would have fit in the Victorian age before she saw Team RWBY walking amongst them. Emerald was about to report when she saw someone she wasn't expecting to see. "That's impossible," Emerald murmured as Hazel took the binoculars and looked through them.
As soon as he saw the person Emerald was looking at, he said, "Ozpin?!" in surprise before snarling in anger. His colleagues tackled him down to keep him quiet.
"Are you trying to expose us?" Arthur hissed. "Can you at least keep your feud with the Headmaster quiet until we have all the answers? We are currently in enemy territory and there is a high possibility of being swarmed by numerous hunters at any moment." Arthur was chewing out Hazel when Emerald peaked over to see who she believed was Ozpin's former host and another black-haired boy tossed Ruby into the pond causing her to snicker.
" What?" Mercury asked only to notice what she found amusing causing him to snort which got louder as Ruby pulled Oscar in when he tried to help her up.
" That is why I suggest we send someone to scout," Arthur said, not paying attention to what was happening around him.
"And I take it the Scout will be you?" Tyrion asked after he skewered a toad sitting on top of the cliff.
" Well, of course, I'm the logical choice here as I never had direct contact with them. The only ones who might recognize me are Ozpin and possibly the Schnee girl. And apart from Miss Sustrai, the rest of you lack any form of stealth," Arthur said, getting up from his hiding spot.
" Now, I suggest you gentlemen wait here and don't cause any trouble," Arthur called as he made his way down to the village with Emerald following behind. They soon arrived at the village and saw a waitress waving a stick, causing chairs to stack on the tables.
The Duo looked back at each other in surprise before they saw a newspaper stand. They made their way over to it and noticed a few of their pictures were moving.
{The Goblet of Fire Summoned Lost Heir,} Watts read the headline before he continued and discovered a tournament going on.
" Ms, Sustrai If you don't mind go into that bookstore and take any information about this Tri-wizard tournament and The Potters,"
Emerald nodded and went inside the store to pickpocket some customers. Then, she paid for the books that Arthur had asked for. After that, they rendezvoused and left the store to meet their colleagues. Suddenly, someone called out to them. They turned around to see a man with long fiery red hair, He was out of breath and pointing a stick at them. The man threatened them, claiming he had powerful friends in the Ministry of Magic who would ensure they paid for their actions. However, he was abruptly interrupted by a metallic stinger piercing his throat, causing him to spew purple foam from his mouth before collapsing to the ground.
" Impeccable timing bug, but I had everything under control," Arthur said.
" Didn't look like it to me," Tyrion said with an insane chuckle kicking the dead wizard, Arthur pulled out a red and black talisman before crushing it and tossing it to the floor as another portal opened.
" Come now let's not keep her waiting and can someone grab the dead weight might as well not leave any evidence," Arthur called out as Hazel grabbed the wizard and dragged him through the portal.

Evernight Castle Remnant.
As Team ATHEM made their way towards the confession hall, they ignored the bright red eyes that followed them. Salem, the mistress of the Grimm, sat in the main chair, which was turned away from them. "I see you all have returned to me empty-handed," she said.
Tyrion replied, "Well, not exactly empty-handed, my goddess. We brought information." Salem stepped out of her chair and noticed the corpse they brought with them.
"Who was this?" she asked.
Arthur replied, "A resident of another world." Salem ordered Tyrion to search the wizard's possessions. Arthur explained that Ozpin's former host was a native of a world with a secret society of magic users. Salem asked,
"Former?" Emerald handed her a scroll with a picture of Ozpin and Oscar. "How?" she asked. Arthur explained that there was a dangerous tournament where three top schools in their kingdom participated and used a goblet to pick their champions, who chose Ozpin's host, separating them. The tournament was canceled a hundred years ago after all three champions violently passed.
Hazel asked, "So if it's so dangerous, why are they staying?" Arthur explained that it had something to do with a contract where if any of the contestants refused to participate, they would lose their powers, which, in their world, is a fate worse than death.
"Did any of you find the lamp?" Salem asked.
"Maybe we can use this tournament to get rid of them since it doesn't seem like they have it on them," suggested Mercury.
"No! I want something from both of them," replied Salem. Tyrion dumped the Wizard's belongings on the table, causing a gold coin to roll around until Mercury picked up the coin and bit it.
"This is pure," He remarked, He then noticed a bag that was filled with gold coins, a stick, and a letter. Mercury picked up the letter and read it out loud. "Avery, since Bagman has been charged with harassment by those Mudbloods, we'll need a new judge. Fortunately, I convinced Fudge that you would be a suitable replacement. Your friend, Lucius."
" Well isn't that just great," Arthur groaned as he glared at Tyrion.
" What are you looking at, you should blame the illusionist over here for getting caught." Tyrion pointed over to Emerald which started the whole group to argue before Salem slammed her hand against the table.
"Enough!" Salem exclaimed, frustrated with the bickering between her minions. "If you were as ruthless towards our enemies as you are with each other, we would have already conquered the kingdoms by now." She then whistled sharply, summoning two Beowolves, and proceeded to issue commands to them in a series of growls and snarls. The Grimm understood and promptly carried the wizard out of the room by his arms and legs.
"Now, unless you are actively searching for the maidens or Beacon's vault, I suggest you focus on researching this world," Salem continued, addressing the remaining minions. "We need someone to infiltrate, and I don't want them to blow their cover." With that, she left the room and headed towards her workshop.

Hogwarts,
As soon as they got back from Hogsmeade Oscar and the gang bumped into a student whom Jacob recognized as Colin Creevey who told them they were expected in a meeting Ozpin ordered the other students to return to Camp as he took Oscar and Jacob to the meeting, sending a quick text with his scroll.
" Ah, Potter, finally you showed up," Percy Weasley said, noticing the group.
" Percy!? What are you doing here?" Jacob was surprised to see the third oldest Weasley.
" Sense Crouch is settling some legal issues, and I'm taking his place as one of the judges, Also just because you are friends with my family doesn't mean I'm going to be showing any favoritism and Headmaster Ozpin made us take an honor oath," Percy said as Dumbledore and a man in a green bolder cap came in.
" Minister Fudge, a pleasure to meet you," Ozpin greeted.
" Why yes pleasure," Fudge muttered before clearing his throat. " Champions, I welcome you to the Tri-Wizards weighing of the wands ceremony. with me from the Daily Prophet is Rita Skeeter."
"Thank you, Minister Fudge," Rita said. "If anyone doesn't mind, I would like to do individual interviews." She did not wait for a reply before reaching for one of the Potter brothers, but a hand grabbed her wrist. She turned to see Emily holding her wrist.
"I don't believe I gave you permission to interview my kid," Emily said, giving Rita a disapproving look as she squeezed her wrist tightly. Rita pulled her arm back, taken aback by the sudden pressure.
"I believe the wizarding world is dying to know how Mr. Potter ended up under your care," Rita said snidely.
"I'm also curious about that. I would like to know how a young boy who was malnourished and had his back ripped to shreds ended up on my front porch," Emily replied coldly, glancing over at where James was standing.
" What are you talking about? Are you suggesting that Lord Potter has something to do with his son's disappearance," Fudge said.
" So far the evidence I gathered doesn't point in his direction but someone placed these Omega suppressors on my kid, luckily Headmaster Ozpin here snapped them off," Emily said as a man with long fire-red hair came in.
" Stupid stairs, who in their bloody minds designed those death traps," The wizard muttered.
" Avery, Thank you for joining us," Fudge felt relieved as Avery turned to him to confirm he was being addressed.
" Forgive my tardiness it seems like those stairs have a mind of their own," Avery said.
" Quite right, damn things took me to the other side of the school getting here," Fudge commented before he noticed Ollivander by the door. " Here's the man of the hour, champions I would like to welcome Great Britain's very own wand smith Garrick Ollivander,"
" Why yes greetings, now if you excuse me, I have a long day and I believe everyone wants to get this done as fast as possible so if anyone is in mind when we start with ladies first," Ollivander said as Fieur stepped forward passing her wand over to him.
" Ah, yes, yes, 9 " Rosewood and Veela hair?" Ollivander asked.
" From my grandmère," Fieur said proudly as Ollivander smiled before waving the wand around, producing a bouquet of red roses before passing it back to her before he started to examine Krum's wand.
" Ah, one of Gregorovitch's Impressive 10 " Hornbeam, with Dragon heartstring," Ollivander said waving it as a stream of water shot out of it then he turned to Cedric's. " I remember this one, 12 " Ash and Hair from one foul-tempered unicorn,"
Ollivander explains with a mild shiver of the unicorn that tried to gore him as he turned to the brothers. " I don't believe I have to expect either of yours,"
"I'm sorry, what do you mean by that?" Avery asked, now paying attention.
"It's quite simple, both of these lads just got their wands," Ollivander explained.
"What do you mean by that, Garrick? What happened to Jacob's wand?" Dumbledore inquired.
"Well, I'm not sure about that Headmaster, it seems like the core rejected him like it didn't even choose him in the first place," Ollivander replied.
"That's strange," Dumbledore commented, before turning to Jacob. "Why wasn't I notified about this, Jacob?"
Before Jacob could answer, Emily interjected. "Why should he? He told Sirius, who most likely told his father, as he tagged along with my nephew. So, as far as you're concerned, the matter has already been handled," Emily asked, as Dumbledore glared over at her.
" What wands did you sell to them?" Avery asked, noting the interactions between this world's headmaster and the Revenants.
" For the youngest, a Yew and Reed, with dragon heartstring wand, seem to bond with him very well, Mr. Pine on the other hand is a special case the first wand that I tried to fit him with had exploded, luckily he brought a piece of material with him from a Whomping Widow," Ollivander said.
Dumbledore was thinking about how Jacob's new wand would fit within his plans only to freeze when he heard what Oscar's wand was made from. " Whomping Widow? Like the one on Hogwarts grounds!"
" According to one of my students, the tree handed a piece to him, and before you accuse Oscar of stealing, tell me something, is the tree sentient? " Ozpin asks.
" Well yes, but," Dumbledore answered.
" So you agree, the tree has a mind and will of its own so technically as the tree gave him the branch it's not stealing," Ozpin said as Dumbledore ground his teeth realizing Ozpin was right.
' Who does that man think he is, well it wouldn't matter after this is over,' Dumbledore thought only to notice everyone else had left.

At Beacon's camp, Oscar was practicing with his new wand by sending flares towards a mannequin. However, he kept missing his target, which made him increasingly frustrated. Just as he was about to try again, he noticed Weiss walking behind him.
"Hey Weiss, what brings you down here?" Oscar asked, trying to keep his frustration at bay.
"Just passing by. Are you practicing your spells?" Weiss asked as Oscar flicked his wand again and missed the target by a foot. He let out a frustrated sigh in embarrassment.
"Loosen your wrist," Weiss advised Oscar as she walked over to him, fixing his stance and resettling the wand in his hand. Oscar lightly flicked his wrist and sent a bolt straight into the center of the target.
"Thanks, Weiss," Oscar said gratefully.
"It's not a big deal, you know Oscar. I don't think we've talked that much. I want to change that," Weiss said, patting the young wizard's shoulder before they both heard a roar from the forest. Against their better judgment, they decided to investigate.
#
Soon they came across a large clearing popping their heads from a bush to see five large animals they recognize as dragons.
Weiss asked Oscar if he recognized the two distinguished-looking individuals walking around the site. Oscar glanced over and noticed that it was the Headmaster of Durmstrang and the mistress of Beauxbatons, both of whom were alone with the groundskeeper at Hogwarts. Suddenly, they heard a loud shout and turned to see a large black dragon breathing a stream of fire. They quickly ducked into the bushes, hoping to avoid the dragon's wrath.
Realizing they needed to leave the area, Oscar called to Weiss, "Weiss, I believe it's time to leave." She nodded in agreement, and the two started backing away from the site. While walking, they bumped into an invisible object. Jacob groaned and sat up, catching Oscar and Weiss' attention.
After a few moments of awkward silence, they heard footsteps drawing near. Jacob quickly threw his cloak around them, just in time for a few dragon handlers to walk by. The handlers seemed in a hurry and quickly returned to their base. "Let's head back to your camp, then you can ask your questions," Jacob said.
They nodded in agreement and made their way back to camp. Once inside the train car, Jacob threw his cloak off, folding it under his arm. "Okay, let's get inside and you can ask your questions," Jacob said, seeing Ruby sticking her head out of the room. "Hey, is everything alright?" she asked, only to notice Oscar's pale face. "We're going to face dragons," Oscar whispered, as Ruby had him sit down and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
" Tell me Mr. Potter where did you get the cloak?" Wiess asked.
" Well, it's been with my family for a few generations where an ancestor of mine married to a daughter of the Peverell line I believe," Jacob said remembering his history. " Jacob explained as he placed the cloak on a nearby coffee table and saw Ruby successfully calming Oscar down.
" Look, we're not going to let you do this alone. So come on Wiess you must have a few ideas of how to get past a dragon?" Ruby said, placing a hand on his back.
" Well they appear to be reptiles so they should be cold-blooded right," Wiess said as Jacob looked thoughtful.
" I don't think we're supposed to hurt them, I think we're supposed to steal something from them and with them being nesting mothers the object might be an egg," Jacob said as Wiess gave a dumbfounded look.
" Okay is everyone in this world out of their mind!" Weiss shouted.

" All right, who's the dumbass that thought of this tournament," Winter said during a meeting with Ozpin and the ace ops.
" Can you at least tell me they have some precautions in case this event goes wrong," Ironwood asked over the transmission that Ozpin set up.
" Outside of the Dragons being restrained by a few chains," Ozpin said.
" Can I say something, what is their plan in case one of them gets loose and barbecues the audience?" Glenda asked.
" I believe there they were in a hurry planning this tournament, fortunately, I managed to convince them to place a barrier around the arena so the audience won't be harmed," Ozpin said sounding as tired as everyone else from the idiocracy of the wizarding world when the meeting ended, Glenda turn back to her boss.
" Are you sure there isn't anything you can do to make them change the task?" Glenda asked.
" No, They are particularly set in their ways," Ozpin said before his thoughts turned to Oscar and his friends brainstorming ways to get through the task, everything from learning the freezing charm to summoning then turned to the present he felt in the village.
" You're thinking about Oscar aren't you," Glenda said.
" Partially, but I believe we have been followed," Ozpin said.
" Salem?" Glenda asked.
"Most likely an associate of hers," Ozpin replied.
" And you didn't bring it up at the meeting, why?" Glenda asks
" You know how James is, if I brought up the thought of Salem being here he'll send the entire Armada which I don't think this world government would like, And it's another reason why I suggested doubling the security," Ozpin said before making his way to check on his students.
Sticking his head inside Oscar's quarters to see the person leaning back in a seat fast asleep with a spell book, Ozpin quietly stepped inside and placed the book on a nearby desk, tossing a blanket around his former host. Despite being separated from Oscar, Ozpin still felt a connection to the boy, Sensing his fears of meeting his biological parents, and a willingness to get to know Jacob. But his friend's protectiveness is slowing that down.
Then Ozpin made his way into the training yard taking note of the target dummies before tossing his jacket onto a railing and placing his hands on top of each other before sliding them outward as a stream of electricity surged between them before Ozpin shot one arm out sending a pulse of energy to one of the dummies punched a hole through its chest then shot the other arm out hit another dummy in the head. Then Ozpin waved his arms in a circle creating a red sigil that shot a beam of energy disintegrating another target from the torso up. Seeing his targets were done, he rested his arms on the side before he sent someone behind him turning to see Oscar staring at him aw.
" Oscar, should you be resting," Ozpin said in a parent-like tone.
" I know, it's just I noticed you were out here," Oscar said only to mumble something.
" You know Oscar, I don't have enhanced hearing," Ozpin said.
"I want to learn how to do what you do," Oscar said as he sat on a nearby stump. "I feel like I'm letting everyone down. The only spells I can cast don't seem as powerful as yours."
Ozpin knelt in front of Oscar. "The spells that you will learn have the potential to give you an advantage over me. Although I can defeat most of these wizards, some spells could still be a threat if used properly." Ozpin then assisted Oscar in getting back up on his feet."Now tell me, Oscar. What spells have you learned?"
"Well, I can do the wand lighting charm, the seize and pull charm, and I'm still working on the freezing charm," Oscar said.
"Well, the wand lighting charm can be a good distraction. If an opponent closes the distance, you can merely shine it in their face, or use the seize and pull charm to unbalance your opponent," Ozpin explained as Oscar listened with interest.
"You said you were working on the freezing charm?"
Oscar nodded and pulled out his wand, waving it in a curvy M pattern with a squiggly line beneath it. "Glacius," Oscar cast, as a short-range mist shot out of the wand. Looking over at his Headmaster, Oscar gave an embarrassed look as Ozpin gave him an interested hum.
"Try putting more power into it," Ozpin said, moving Oscar over the targets. "Now cast the spell again, visualize what you want."
Oscar did as he flicked his wand toward the targets, an icy blue flare shot out, hitting one of the mannequins and encasing its lower half in ice.
"All you need to do is believe in yourself. I think there are a few spells we can add to your arsenal," Ozpin said, resetting the mannequins. The session ended with Oscar practicing the summoning, disarming, shielding, and stunning charms.
"Good work, Oscar. Keep this up and you'll master those spells in no time," Ozpin said, noticing Oscar's fatigue. "That's enough for today. Go get some rest, Oscar."
Oscar nodded as he headed back into the train bumping into Ruby. " Oh, hey Ruby,"
" Oscar, are you all right?" Ruby asked only to notice his tired look.
" I'm fine Ruby," Oscar said heading back to his quarters he saw Ruby taking his hand and sitting him on the bed.
"Oscar, you're not letting everyone down, Why would you even think that?" Ruby asks.
" You heard that didn't you," Oscar said, finding his feet more interesting as Ruby grabbed his arm, getting his attention as he looked over to see a pair of concerned silver eyes in a light glare.
" Oscar, Just because you're just starting to learn magic doesn't make you weak, I bet you 20 Lent that if any of us were in your position none of us would have gotten as far as you," Ruby pointed out causing Oscar to look back down. " You know I believe I said something at the train station before we got here if I hear any more of those delusions," Oscar only had time to look up before Ruby pulled him into her lap and in a tight hug.
" Ruby! What are you doing? Oscar asked fluttery.
" Squeezing those doubts out of you," Ruby said, tightening her hold.
Oscar was not minding the hug but like any other teenage boy whose head was now pressed against his attractive friend's bust and the thought of her uncle or sister walking in.
" Um, Ruby? I'm feeling better now," Oscar said urgently as Ruby loosened her hold only to grab his hands.
" Really no more bad thoughts?" Ruby asked.
" Well, outside of either your uncle or sister walking in here, and in less than a week I'm getting fried," Oscar said, only for Ruby to cup his cheek.
" Don't say that Oscar! Just don't," Ruby said as her eyes started to water.
"I'm sorry, It's just compared to the other champions I'm behind in experience and knowledge and the contract says I can't just quit, even if I could," Oscar said only for Ruby to interrupt him.
"Could you please confirm whether the contract mandates you to win, Oscar? As far as my understanding goes, it only requires you to make an effort. Therefore, as long as you give your best and make a few attempts, and if you fail to complete the challenge, nobody will mind if you withdraw." Ruby said.
" But what if the wizards think I'm a coward," Oscar mumbled.
" Then screw them!" Ruby said surprising Oscar with her tone, " Even if the Wizards we got to know believe that well that's their opinion,"
Oscar believed her explanation only for his thoughts to turn to Jacob whom Ruby seemingly read mind. " Oscar, If Jay is serious about getting to know you and thinks that. All I can say is he had his chance, and besides I know of eight others who are more worried about your well-being than some stupid tournament,"
Ruby embraced Oscar once again and then kissed his forehead. "Get some rest we have a big day tomorrow,"
Ruby got up from the bed and Oscar reluctantly let her go. " Good night Ruby," Oscar called as Ruby turned back and flashed a smile at him before making her way to bed herself the only way to stop for a moment.
" Oscar, You're going to be the best wizard, so great even Ozpin will look up to you," Ruby said before making her leave Oscar's lips twitched at the thought of being as powerful as Ozpin.
Unknown to them Jacob in his Jaglion form was taking a nightly stroll and heard their conversation.
' Would I think that? Properly the Gryffindors, but since I got to know Oscar he has shown qualities of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff,' Jacob thought, fighting the urge to return to the Common room and smack that idea out of them.
Turning back to look inside the train car to see Oscar getting ready for bed before walking back to school deciding if he wasn't having classes he was hanging out with his brother.
#
The following day.
After his morning routine, Jacob made his way down to the Common room noticing it was mostly empty outside of some first years and some older students studying, looking over at the schedule, luckily he didn't have any classes until the afternoon.
Smiling to himself Jacob made his way to the Great Hall making himself a breakfast sandwich before making his way over to Beacon's camp catching sight of Yang training against some dummies with Yang punching one across the field.
" Potter?" Yang asked, tossing her hair back. " What are you doing here?"
" I don't have any classes until the afternoon so I came down to see if Oscar wanted to hang out," Jacob answered, getting a look from Yang.
" Still catching on lost time aren't you," Yang said with a slight malice tone, which Jacob caught onto.
" Like you would be any different if you found out your sibling was in a different universe for 13 years," Jacob scoffed.
" I Would Have Torn The Whole Multiverse Apart Looking For Ruby!" Yang snarled.
" So would I," Jacob said, only to notice an audience.
" Is there a reason why you are here and not in class Mr. Potter?" Goodwitch asked, sending a glance at Jacob who got fidgety.
" Well, Professor I had a free period and came to see if Oscar would mind any company," Jacob said.
"I believe Mr. Pine is busy at the moment," Oobleck replied, remembering the Headmaster took him practicing somewhere.
" Oh well, I just came back later," Jacob said, starting to make his leave.
" Hold it, You said you didn't have any classes," Port asked.
" Yes, I have a free period until the afternoon," Jacob said as Oobleck hummed in Interest before waving his hand at Jacob to follow him onto the train.
"Tell us about your classes, Mr. Potter. What are you good at?", Oobleck asked as Jacob settled into the lounge area.
" Having parents that are priorities in transfiguration and charms helps. I'm pretty good in defense, 'when we have someone that knows when they're doing,' as for history and Potions. Long story short, the potion's professor was neighbors with my mother and my father had a crush on her." Jacob said.
" Oh, the old school jock against the nerdy story, Instead of the kind-hearted nerd it was the athlete that got the girl," Port summarized.
" Well according to my parents, Snape wasn't a kind-hearted nerd during the time as he was hanging out with people who had the same opinion as the new dark wizard that popped up at the time," Jacob said, getting an understanding hum from the teachers.
" What about your history?" Oobleck asked.
" Outside of the class I'm fine in history, the teacher Binns however is a ghost that can bore the most energetic person drunk on caffeine and sugar to sleep In less than a minute," Jacob said as Oobleck made a mental note to toss Nora into that class.
" You know I heard this tournament is supposed to support the cooperation between schools," Oobleck said before zooming out of the room Jacob tried to follow him only to end up nearly snapping his neck.
" Right semblances are a thing," Jacob said to himself rubbing his neck and getting synthetic looks from the remnant professors as Oobleck walked back into the room later carrying a large book.
" Here we are, it says, ' Any student from the competing schools may participate or sit in a class of their choice from the visiting schools for extra credit, as long as they have a written form from their professor or Guardian. " Oobleck said, pulling out a few forms.
Jacob was surprised by this. " Is that so? What class is for being taught here?" he asked.
" At this moment, History, Grimm studies, and Combat," Goodwitch answered.
" And I just need a professor's or my guardian's signature correct," Jacob asked to clarify.
" Correct. preferably from a professor of a similar subject," Oobleck said as Jacob grabbed a few forms.
" Thank you, professor, I'll be getting those signatures for history and combat soon," Jacob said, taking leave.
" Why do I get the feeling we are going to get a lot more students than him," Goodwitch said to her colleagues.
" I wouldn't worry too much Glenda, who knows we might be able to teach kids something," Port said before the other professors got ready for their classes.
#
It was times like this that Jacob hated the rumor mill. Somehow his plan had reached Hermione's ears who instead of criticizing him for getting out of class insisted on being given a copy of the form as well before he knew it the whole school became aware they could take the other school's classes, and forms were distributed in all four houses now he was standing in a group containing half of his year group.
" So Jay, as you have been down there the longest, any ideas about what their teachers are like?" Daphne asked being the few Slytherins taking the beacon classes, the others from her house went over to Durmstrang.
" The only thing I know is one of them is a speedster and likes to go by Doctor," Jacob said overlooking his new schedule to see the first new class he had was History with said professor.
" For those taking History with Dr. Oobleck come this way," Em called as Jacob's group followed he noticed Hogwarts wasn't the only school that became aware of his idea as he noticed the other champions were among the group.
Soon the group entered A large classroom with a deck and a whiteboard in the center before Jacob spotted Oscar, and Ruby who were now dressed in their school uniforms, the latter waving over at him as he and Hermione walked down to them.
" Hi, I thought I heard a rumor you might be joining us," Ruby said.
" Well, I heard from a certain Panther, As long as this tournament is going on the other schools will be open to their neighbors," Hermione said as the panther fidgeted in his seat trying to look like he was not paying attention to them as Oobleck walked in.
"Welcome to history class. I'm Dr. Oobleck," he said, writing his name on the whiteboard and underlining "Doctor."
" Now with all that all the way, who here can tell me what starts a war?" Oobleck asked the non-remnants. " How about you in aisle B, row C, seat 12," he called. This caused the class to look around before noticing the room had some letters and numbers on the seats which led to the seat where Daphne was sitting before she answered. "Resources?" she answered.
" Good answer, greed can be a powerful motivation it may be for land, variables, Or other natural resources, but It's not the answer I'm looking for," Oobleck said as he looked around the classroom to see anyone else figure out his question before noticing a few hands were raised pointing to Dean Thomas.
" Um, is it hate?" He answered timidly.
Oobleck smiled at the answer. " That's what I was looking for, yes hate, bigotry, and Ignorance, In history, those three reasons always lead to messy conflicts, take the most recent example the Death Eaters," Oobleck said, getting the room's attention.
" From what I heard these Death Eaters believed those raised outside of the magical world should have never been brought in, why?"
" It's obvious we don't want their filthy blood mixing in our community," Malfoy said.
" Well then Mr. Malfoy, do you mind explaining your reasoning in a little more detail," Oobleck said, not fazed by the young boy's words.
"It was obvious, they've been stealing our magic for centuries, how else can you explain the rise in squibs," Malfoy said as his crowd nodded with him.
" Is that so, can you tell us how magic can be drained? It's obvious that the non-magical didn't do it," Oobleck asked, catching the boy off guard not expecting to be questioned about what his father told him.
"According to my research, the cause of the rise of squibs is inbreeding because of the closed-mindedness of the magical world. By not allowing fresh blood to enter they are breeding the magic out of themselves," Oobleck explained.
Malfoy shouted in denial, "That's a lie! It's because of the dirty blood they've been draining our magic!" He did not expect the professor to challenge him by saying, "Prove that your blood is cleaner than that of Ms. Granger or Mr. Thomas." The rest of the students watched with anticipation.
Malfoy responded confidently, "You can't, my father will hear."
However, Oobleck had a different plan. "I never said we would be testing your blood, Mr. Malfoy," he said. Dr. Oobleck then asked for three volunteers from the class. Dean, Hermione, and surprisingly, Neville walked up to the teacher's desk. Dr. Oobleck took out a few lancet pens and began an experiment to test Malfoy's theory.
" I take it, you know how to use these?" Oobleck asked Dean and Hermione, nodding before instructing Neville on how to use them, placing their samples into a large microscope projector.
" Now tell me Mr. Malfoy do you see any difference in these blood samples?" Oobleck asked as the class looked up at the projection and noticed no difference between the samples, which kept Malfoy quiet.
" Thought as much, as you three already up here can you pass these books around to the class," Oobleck said to his volunteers before Malfoy got up from his seat to leave the class.
" You cheated! you must have swapped them out, there's no way those blood samples were real when my father hears about this he will ruin you!" Malfoy shouted as his colleagues walked out of the class.
" Pity, I suggest to all of you who turn to page 300, we will be learning about The Faunus Rights Revolution," Oobleck said, continuing as if nothing happened.
#
Moments later the class exited from history was let out. " Okay, I confess we learned a lot more in this history in the last three years than the one we have," Hermione said.
" Do you think we can get the good doctor to take over history for us," Jacob said thinking back on how Oobleck shut down Malfoy's claims.
" So, we end up with your boring one the same one that can put the most energetic student to sleep, I don't think so," Oscar said cracking a smile that caused his group of friends to laugh as Jacob snapped his fingers, they made their way over to a small coliseum that was about a quarter of the quidditch pitch size with wooden bleachers surrounding a sand-filled pit where The rest of team RWBY was placing some speakers around.
" Hey, Ice Queen how's the sound down there," Yang said over on the speakers startling Weiss who happened to be standing next to one of them only for her to glare up at Yang who had a troll-like smirk before Weiss could chew her companion out she noticed their guests have arrived.
" Well, well, it looks like we have some fresh meat," Yang said as Goodwitch and Moody walked in.
" Is that all of them Mr. Moody?" Goodwitch asked if she noticed the new students walking in.
" Should be, I told my first three periods of my class to be down here," Moody said, noticing that Ron Weasley was dragged into the class by his twin brothers.
" Afternoon, I don't doubt you all are wondering why you are here. The answer is from what Professor Moody told me your combat class is severely lacking, outside a few exceptions your teachers range from subpar to barely qualified. Your professor believes perhaps a third party might be able to shape you up." Goodwitch addressed the foreign students as the ones from Hogwarts in a tone that reminded them of their Transformation Professor. If it wasn't for the fact she was from a different universe they might have confused Goodwitch and McGonagall for sisters or at least cousins.
" Now listen here, I have zero tolerance for slackers in this class and I expect every one of you to do all you can because out there, there are going to be those that wouldn't hesitate to hurt you or your loved ones. That's why you are here to learn how to defend yourself and those you care about from them, are we clear?" Goodwitch said, looking around the room before tapping the headset she had on, and turning on the speakers. " I said, are we clear!?"
" Ma'am Yes Ma'am!" The majority of the students replied.
" Good now let's start with a basic scenario, who here can tell me an available strategy when you back into a corner with the only exit blocked by an armed assailant?" Goodwitch asked before pointing to Hermione who had her hand raised and gestured to her to come down. " Show me Ms. Grainger how you would escape,"
" Well, Professor I would start," Hermione explained before Goodwitch without her weapon Disciplinarian and flicked it, lifting the girl off the ground.
" I suggest Ms. Granger that you act faster if you ever find yourself in this situation because the next opponent that has you at their mercy may not be as forgiving," Goodwitch said letting Hermione down to the ground before she walked back to her seat as Glynda looked around for a new volunteer meeting eyes with Oscar who had his hand raised.
" Mr. Pine, do you have a strategy to show us? Goodwitch said as Oscar walked down to the arena attracting many glances and causing Oscar to slow his stride only for Ruby's encouraging words to echo, causing him to keep going.
" Show me what you got kid," Moody said as he walked into the ring placing his cane in front of him as Oscar made his move casting a strong wand-lighting spell illuminating the field and following up with a disarming and the Seize and Pull charm which wrapped around Moody's leg only for Oscar pulled hard attempting to pull Moody off his feet only for Moody to counter with a sharp stomp snap the line.
"Not bad, if I were your average mugger I would have been on the floor neutralized giving you time to escape or finish me off," Moody observed.
" Well, I was just planning on blinding my attacker but remembered they are also armed leaving the chance of them fighting back," Oscar explained consciously only to notice Moody's smirk.
" Can we get a round of applause for Mr. Pine's outstanding strategy," Goodwitch called flashing Oscar an approved smile.
" Oh please, I can do better than that," Someone called, which Moody heard as he turned to see Malfoy glaring down.
" Mr. Malfoy I heard you cut Dr. Oobleck's history I'll be having some words with Professor Snape about that, but if you believe you can do better, then come down here and prove it," Goodwitch said which Malfoy made way down there ignoring the glances he got from the remnants as Malfoy step down to the platform he then turned to face Moody who held up his hand.
" Oh no you don't, boy, you're not facing me, you 're facing Mr. Pine here," Moody said, gesturing over to Oscar who had a surprised look along with an entire class including Goodwitch who looked like she wasn't in the know.
" I accept," Malfoy said.
" Mr, Malfoy I suggest getting your aura unlocked, it is a viable ability that schools like Beacon," Goodwitch explains only to be cut off by Malfoy
" I don't need your Muddy magic, my own is already superior to anything this runt can come up with," Malfoy said which made the Remnants shrink into their seats as they saw Goodwitch's glare.
" As you wish, but I insist on signing this way ever for your safety and everyone else's," Goodwitch said coldly, holding out for her scroll pad as Malfoy looked down at it and discussed.
" I suggest you do it, boy, as you said you have nothing to worry about," Moody said, playing on Malfoy's ego and smirking to himself as he saw Malfoy's sign.
" This would be a standard one-on-one match the rules are simple nothing lethal and it ends when either the opponent yields or if they are unable to continue the fight, do you both understand," Goodwitch said getting a nod from Oscar and a board looks for Malfoy as they took a few steps away from each other.
" Kick his butt, Oscar!" Ruby cheered along with the rest of team JNR.
" Show this dragon of bad faith whose boss!" Yang yelled, getting the attention of the rest of her team. " What, that's what his name translates into," she explained.
" I'm surprised you knew that," Weiss said.
" Hey just because I'm a jock, doesn't mean I don't read," Yang explained before turning back to the arena as Oscar and Malfoy took their stance Oscar took more of a fencing stance while Malfoy took a pose similar to a scorpion's tail with his wand behind his head.
" Mr. Pine, are you ready?" Moody called as Oscar nodded Mad-Eye glared over at Malfoy who responded with a sharp tilt before Moody raised his hand to start the duel, right as Draco cast a spell which Oscar countered with a shield charm sending Malfoy's spell back and knocking him down.
Jacob shot out of his seat enraged at Malfoy's trick only to laugh when he realized it blew up in his face as Moody revived the unfortunate wizard.
" Mr. Malfoy, I don't know who taught you how to duel but they did a poor job of teaching you manners and honor which going by your cowardly tactics I doubt they'll be able to spell," Goodwitch said.
" Do you have any idea who I am?" Malfoy said.
"To me Mr. Malfoy, you're just a student," Goodwitch said sternly. " Now go back to your seat,"
Malfoy glared at the professor as he set up from where he was picking up his wand and waving it in a Z-like pattern shooting a fireball at Goodwitch which collided with a purple barrier causing the spell to fizz out. Goodwitch looked over at him with an unimpressed look before whipping out Disciplinarian ripping the wand out of Malfoy's hand then he was paralyzed by Moody. " Boy, you have done it now and your father will not be able to get you out of this one. Goodwitch, I trust you to take over the class, but please ensure the safety of my students." Moody said, dragging Malfoy out of the class.
Glenda was about to do that only for her to notice Krum's hand raised, "Professor, I can't help but notice you were glowing a moment ago," he voiced the current thought of the non-Remnants.
" That was an aura, A useful skill where we are from, that by the power of the user's soul grants them a few abilities like increased speed, strength, durability, and a body shield for example," Goodwitch said, causing the class to mumble questions around themselves.
Goodwitch raised her hand to quiet down the class. 'I know you have many questions, but unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to address them all right now,' she said. 'That's why I'm going to host a demonstration.'"
" I'm going to be needing a volunteer. A volunteer that originally went to Beacon," Goodwitch clarified when she noticed the hands from the others. " How about you ms, Xiao Long?"
" No problem, teach," Yang said, getting out of her seat to stretch before looking around for an opponent and meeting the eyes of Jacob.
" Ms. Xiao Long I suggest, you choose someone else," Goodwitch said, sensing the sparks flying between the siblings.
"It's okay, professor. I accept," said Jacob, attracting the attention of the crowd. Ruby tried to dissuade him, but he was determined. Oscar had also made his way over to Yang to do the same thing as she made her way down to the pit. "There has been some hostility between us. We might as well get it out of our systems," Jacob explained to Ruby.
"If you're serious about getting to know Oscar, you have to get past the Yanger," Yang taunted as she engaged Ember Celica.
" I don't want to hurt you Yang, but something's telling me this is the only way I will earn your respect," Jacob said, unclipping his cloak to reveal he had a sleeveless dark blue gi, getting a wolf whistle from his classmates who noticed his muscular arms.
" Hold this for a moment," Jacob called, tossing his cloak and wand toward Daphne and Hermione; the latter was surprised at what she was given.
" Did you just give up the only thing that may give you a chance with this fight?" Yang said surprisingly.
" Well, that's the only thing I can use during this tournament," Jacob explains, stretching his arms before cracking his neck and causing his aura to shimmer. " And I won't be needing it,"
Yang, not saying anything, took the stance of a boxer as Jacob positioned himself so both of his knees were bent with one foot standing behind the other as the foot in the front had its heel up before he moved his arms in front of himself similar to Yang. but his hands are opened and his fingers bent into claws.
" For those that don't know the fight ends when either opponent is either pushed out of the ring or reduces their aura level to 15%," Goodwitch said pointing out a large ring that was three yards behind them and then to a large monitor where the contestants mugshots were hanging along with a large health bar which both contestants nodded to as Goodwitch brought her hand up to signal the start of the match. With a quick flick downward, she signaled to the fighters that they could begin. Yang, made the first move, propelling herself forward with a powerful jump punch. However, Jacob quickly evaded the attack by rolling backward and twirling around with his sharp, blue-glowing fingertips. he slashed against Yang's midriff, ripping chunks of her aura off. He then delivered a double punch, sending Yang backward by a few feet and dropping her aura levels to 52%.
The audience leaned forward in anticipation, surprised that someone who had no experience was matching one of Beacon's strongest fighters in strength. "Guess those muscles part of gained while sleeping or the real deal," Nora voiced the same thoughts that were present among the audience members. On the other hand, the Wizards were looking at each other in surprise, with a face that said, "Did you know about this?"
Undeterred by the attack, Yang attacked again. However, Jacob ducked under her arm, and Yang turned around to grab him by the scruff of his neck, throwing him over her shoulder. Jacob shifted into Mlinzi, flipping onto his feet and skidding across the floor to stop an inch from the line. Mlinzi looked up at Yang before sprinting towards her, dodging any dust shots coming his way. He leaped up to shift back to perform an axe kick, which Yang blocked with both her arms and cracked the ground when it connected.
Yang pushed him off to notice that her aura levels were at 47%, and Jacob's was not even touched. She saw Jacob make another attack and attempted to punch him, but he grabbed her prosthetic before jumping and wrapping his legs around her torso and dropping them both to the ground. The crowd leaned almost into the pit to see the two wrestling as Jacob got Yang into an arm bar.
"I suggest you yield, Yang," Jacob said, bringing her prosthetic back, causing a metallic crack and sparks to fly. However, Yang responded by disconnecting her arm and igniting her hair. This caused Jacob to let go, eliciting a painful whine from the crowd. Jacob patted himself down, but suddenly noticed a red-eyed Yang charging towards him.
Yang attempted to slam onto Jacob, but he rolled back using his legs to catapult her outside the ring with a skid. "That's the match," Goodwitch called, as the audience realized what had happened before they exploded in cheer.
It took Yang a few minutes to realize what had happened as Jacob handed her the prosthetic back. "Need a hand?" he asked, and Yang grabbed the hand of the prosthetic, pulling herself up and taking the prosthetic from him, noticing the damage.
" Look at least let me pay for the repairs," Jacob said, feeling guilty about the damage.
" Who taught you how to fight like that?" Yang asked.
" Well, I taught myself most of it," Jacob answered, which gained even more respect from the hot-headed blonde before they noticed Goodwitch was talking to the class.
" Who here can tell me what Ms. Xiao Long did wrong?" Goodwitch asked as a few hands were raised including Yang herself.
" I underestimated Jacob here," Yang answered.
" It's good to realize your mistakes, Ms. Xiao Long," Goodwitch said before directing both contestants back to their seats as their friends and classmates swarmed them.
" Oh, for Pete's sake at least let him sit down first," Hermione said, making sure Jacob got back into his seat before being swarmed by his classmates as he turned to see she had questions.
" Yes, I started before our third year, A mix of tiger and leopard, I mostly taught myself and didn't think you would be interested," Jacob said, guessing her questions which by the look on her face was correct as he noticed Oscar sitting next to him.
" Jay, I'm sorry about Yang, she's been protective. Well, she's always been protective of her sister. but after she found out what my former home life was like she expanded the protection," Oscar said, apologizing on Yang's behalf only for Jacob to place his hand on his head and mess with his hair.
" It's a fine squirt. I'm not mad about that, though you should look on the positive side. Your girlfriend's sister seems like you," Jacob teased.
" Am I supposed to be the older one here?" Oscar said, deciding not to comment on his glowing relationship with Ruby.
" Gain a few more Stones and we'll talk, speaking of which I notice you've been pretty close to Rose. Do we have to have a little talk?" Jacob asked, making the farm boy fluster even more.
" What! No! Ruby and I are not that close, and I already had that talk with my aunt and Ozpin." Oscar said his face was redder than a strawberry.
" Jay, knock it off, you're embarrassing the poor kid," Hermione said, feeling sorry for the smaller sibling.
" Oh come on Hermione it's what siblings do to each other right Daphne?" Jacob asked only to notice she was looking at the few burn marks on his shoulder starting to heal.
" Is that your aura doing that?" Daphne asked as she looked at the fading burn marks in interest.
" Yeah, from what I had learned, it also gives you a mild healing factor which would heal mild cuts and bruises as long as I don't lose anything that I like keeping, and as long as I get a good night's rest I'll be good as new tomorrow," Jacob said.
" How good is this healing factor? like can it stop what is that muggle disease called? can something," Daphne said only to notice someone was behind her, turning to see Ozpin.
" Headmaster Ozpin, Nice for you to join us," Goodwitch said when she noticed his arrival.
" Evening Glynda, I came here to see how our new students are enjoying themselves," Ozpin said as he went downstairs to see the foreign students who were observing him in interest.
" Do you mind if I take over for a bit Glynda? " Ozpin asked.
" They are all yours, Headmaster," Goodwitch said, handing the Headmaster a headset which he quickly put on.
"Testing, testing, can all of you hear me?" Ozpin asked, causing some of the students to snicker. "I'll take your amusement as a yes. Now, I believe many of you are interested in learning about aura. Some may think it's an ultimate power that makes you invincible, but that's not entirely true. There are limits to its power."
Ozpin had the full attention of every single student as he continued his lecture. "For example, a person's health, skill, age, and even personality can affect the strength of their aura. And while it's true that aura can help you survive a building collapsing on you, it won't protect you from poisons or illnesses. At best, an aura can heal the damage caused by a foreign body, but it can't cure it without proper medical help."
He spoke with the tone of someone who had experienced such situations himself. "So remember, while the aura is a powerful tool, it's not a guarantee of invincibility. Always be mindful of your limits and weaknesses, and seek proper medical attention when needed."
" I think that's all we have for today, class dismissed," Goodwitch dismissed the rest of the class who slowly made their way out leaving only the remnants and the champions inside the room.
" Are you all right sir?" Goodwitch asked, concerned about her colleague who nodded noticing his students looking over in concern.
" Is everything all right Ozpin," Oscar asked.
" I'm fine Oscar just remembered a few things from one of my former lives," Ozpin said, noticing the other champions in the classroom as well.
" Headmaster Ozpin about this aura," Cedric asked.
" If you're asking if this Aura is considered cheating, according to the rule book the champions are supposed to use anything they learned from the competing schools so as my school teaches its students how to use it, it's technically not cheating," Ozpin said.
" It's not that sir, you said this Aura comes from your souls? So is it possible to replicate it?" Cedric asked.
" Tell me, do you three believe you have souls?" Ozpin asked the other Champions to give him a confused look. " Have any of you become an Animagus?"
" Why are you asking these questions?" Cedric asked.
" I'm just making sure you are all aware there's a side effect with aura if you are an Animagus and having your aura activated may turn you into a Faunus," Ozpin warned as the champions looked back at each other. Jacob noticed his hair had spots in it.
" J'en ai rien à faire, I already have enough trouble being part Veela, I doubt some feathers will improve that," Fieur said.
" If you're offering to teach us, I have no problem with it," Cedric said as Krum nodded.
"Excellent!" Ozpin exclaimed, pulling out a scroll. "I just need you to sign this document, so if anything goes wrong, you won't be able to sue us." He then expanded the scroll to reveal a page with several dotted lines.
After the three champions signed the document, Headmaster Ozpin, Professor Goodwitch, and Marrow placed their hands on Cedric, Krum, and Fleur's shoulders while murmuring to themselves, soon, the champions began to glow in orange, crimson, and sapphire blue, respectively.
" Use this new power wisely and responsibly and don't be afraid to come back here as everyone in my school will be willing to help train you to use your new auras," Ozpin said as everyone else left, leaving Ozpin and Goodwitch in the classroom.
" Are you sure that is wise?" Goodwitch asked.
"It's better if we reveal our abilities on our terms before they inevitably discover them. Some may argue that having an aura gives an unfair advantage. But does the ability to produce something hold any significance if everyone is capable?" Ozpin shared his thoughts with his trusted associate.
"And there's another reason, in case Salem finds us we have a few surprises for her," Ozpin said believing his former ex-wife wouldn't leave him alone and even if this world didn't know it they needed his school's help.
