Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 26: Protecting Danielle Part 2
Danny and Vlad charged at each other, engaging in yet another one of their battles.
"Always so stubborn..."Vlad said as he elbowed Danny in the chest.
"Seriously, Fruitloop... can't you find another hobby besides the supervillain schtick. Because at this rate, you're gonna get yourself into a cycle of getting your butt kicked..."Danny sassed.
"On the contrary, Daniel. I seem to be doing quite well..."Vlad said arrogantly before vanishing.
Before Danny could blink, he was blasted from behind and sent crashing against the floor of Frostbites dining hall. The ghost boy rolled onto his back as Vlad floated above him with a smirk.
"Well, it looks like they'll be eating out for a while..."Vlad said as he aimed and fired at him.
Danny flipped back and out of the way as Vlad's ecto-ray hit the spot where he had been. The young halfa's eyes then glowed blue as he fired a blast of ice towards his foe, who had to fly upward to avoid the attack.
"My, my someone's gotten the hang of his new powers..." Vlad sarcastically complimented "No wonder that alien princess has her eyes on you..."He taunted, knowing it got under his skin.
"Don't bring her up..."Danny shouted angrily.
"If you are in need of flowers for her for prom, I think I can convince Undergrowth for help..." Vlad joked, irritating the boy even more.
"I am serious, Plasmius. Beat it before someone gets seriously hurt..."Danny warned.
"That someone will most certainly be you, Daniel..."Vlad said in a smug way, then he pointed at Danny and glared. "Now step aside, I have a certain daughter in need of permanent grounding..."He said with his usual arrogance.
Danny frowned and charged his fists.
"You are a terrible father, y'know. My mom was lucky not to marry you..."Danny said as he fired an ecto-blast at his enemy.
Vlad dodged and fired back, which the young half ghost barely dodged.
"I'll be happy to prove you wrong, Daniel. Once I am rid of you and Danielle, I'll scoop up the remains to get the perfect son..."Vlad said arrogantly, blocking a blast.
"You're not going anywhere near her ever again!..."Danny shouted as flew in and punched his opponent in the face.
As the battle continued, Vlad only smirked, knowing his plan was in action.
"Little fool, he has no idea that this is a distraction and he's falling into my trap..."He thought, backhanding Danny.
While he fought his little teenage foe and these yetis, his minions were currently obtaining the items he wanted from this frozen waste of space.
The infi-map...and Danielle.
"I just have to keep the little badger and the rest of these snowy imbeciles busy and make sure my minions have time..."He thought as he kept this up, his enemies none the wiser.
All the while, Danny had only one thing on mind, protecting Danielle.
"I gotta stop this and keep him away from Dani..."The ghost boy thought as he carried on.
The ghost boy flew up into the sky, firing blasts down at Vlad, who reflected them with a barrier while Danny barely was able to put up a shield in time.
Danny lowered the shield and fired while Vlad remained undaunted, deflecting the blast with the swat of his hand.
"Just a little longer now..."Vlad thought arrogantly, still thinking he had an ace up his sleeve.
"I just gotta get him away from here..."Danny thought in determination as the battle continued.
Unaware that certain events were happening away from here, even as they fought.
Meanwhile
Dani was currently in the hovercraft with Chill and Glacier, who were speeding as fast as they could., not letting her out of their sights.
They were determined to get her beyond their borders and to safe haven with one of their allies, to make sure that Vlad doesn't find her and take her away, or the map either.
"Hurry, we have to get the young one to safety before Plasmius catches on to us! Can't this hovercraft go faster?!..."Chill said impatiently.
"I'm doing the best I can! This isn't the latest model, ya know. Besides I'm already flooring it..."Glacier said, forcing the hovercraft to move at top speed.
He noticed their guest wasn't looking calm.
"Do not worry, young one. Once we get you to a secret cavern, we'll use an escape pod there to get you to safety. There is no chance we will let that scoundrel near you..."Glacier said, trying to cheer her up.
It didn't make Dani feel any less nervous, since she felt like she was home for the first time in her life. She knew how strong Vlad is and how ruthless he can be when he doesn't get his way.
"He always has to mess up everything for me..."Dani thought, hating that Vlad ruined this for her but chose to keep quiet for now.
She had to trust these guys and have faith that it would work.
"I'll be fine... I'll be fine..." She thought in a mantra.
That's when she saw three figures flying, who happen to be arguing among themselves.
"Are we there yet?..."One of them complained, groaning loudly.
"Quiet you idiot, they'll hear us..."Another one shouted, shaking a wing like a fist.
Dani saw them and pointed.
"Are those... birds?..." She asks.
The two warriors looked back and snarled.
"Plasmius sent them, no doubt. Quickly... hide in here..." Chill said, pointing into a blanket.
Dani hid under it as the vultures caught up.
The hovercraft stopped and the two warriors glared at them.
"Halt trespassers, you are not welcome here..."Chill said.
"Relax, fella. We have come to find and capture the little Phantom brat to turn her over to our boss..."The lead vulture said, using a wing like a hand and giving a thumb's up.
"And get home because I'm freezin' my tailfeathers here..."The vulture with sunglasses said.
Chill and Glacier growled at them.
"We have no child here, so leave..."Chill said.
"You are trespassing in Far Frozen territory, be gone or feel the might of our power..."Glacier warned, his fangs barred.
"Oy, they always wanna go straight to a fight..."The lead vulture complained before they flew at the two.
The two yetis fired their ice blasts, the vultures barely avoiding as their feet were lightly covered in ice.
"Come on, hurry up! I'm freezin' out here and we get half off on pizza orders tonight!..." The Vulture in glasses went.
"You actually pay for them?..." The Vulture with the hooked beak asks.
"Of course... the delivery guy's gotta eat too, y'know..." He said.
"You action of respecting the service industry is admirable, but not enough to let us spare you!..." Glacier said as he pointed his weapon at them, trying to keep their attention on him and not Dani.
Chill, meanwhile, looked to the girl hiding.
"Go, young one. We shall distract them..."Chill whispered to Dani, who was still hiding.
The little ghost girl nodded. While Chill and Glacier were ready to fight, Dani quickly snuck out from behind, being careful that the vultures couldn't see or hear her as she quickly floated away until it was safe.
"Come on, we got a kid to capture ASAP..."The vultures said, still arguing among themselves.
"Enough of this nonsense, stand and fight or leave before you become our dinner!..."Glacier said impatiently as he raised his weapon.
Chill did the same while the vultures had other ideas. The lead vulture smirked as he used a wing to whistle.
"Alright boys! Time to fight!…"He ordered.
Soon, a group of Vlad's mutated ghost animals appeared, snarling at them.
Dani cringed at the sight of them.
"Not them, I thought he got rid of them...as if I didn't have enough troubles already..."Dani said, recognizing those creatures.
Before she broke free from Vlad's control, her so-called dad had been experimenting in making new minions that would be more aggressive and who, in his own words, "would attack anything that moved but would also remember who is in charge". A lesson the older halfa found out the hard way.
There were about 5 of them here, a three headed, six armed green grizzly bear...a eight-legged, four-eyed ghost tiger, a deer on its hind legs and with claws for hands, a four-winged hawk with a jagged beak and a dog with three long tails, six legs, and massive over bite. There wre about 5 of them but they look even nastier than ever and that's a bad sigh but Chill and Glacier stood firm.
"In the name of the Far Frozen, prepare to be horribly beaten by our superior strength!..."Chill and Glarcier both shouted as they raised their weapons.
They charged at them and the two knew one way to handle this.
With hands together, the two unleashed a wave of cold energy that slowly encased the beasts. Two of them were frozen solid, the rest, though slow, were still approaching.
"Give it all you got!..." Chill shouted.
"Got it!..." Glacier responded.
The two warriors resumed as the energy from their combined attack intensified.
Dani smiled.
"Wow... can't wait to do that..." She said under her breath as she looked at her hands.
It was a power she already wanted to use, and seeing in action made her want it more.
The beasts were frozen solid as the two yetis were out of breath.
"Best leave before you're frozen, because we'll only thaw you for dinner..."Chill warned.
The vultures were getting impatient and decided not to let this drag on.
"This is taking too long, let's get this over with..."He said as he decided to use their secret weapon.
He pulled out a device that Vlad gave them and told them to use when the beasts were incapacitated. That was now.
It was shaped like an egg, but had green lights on it that were blinking on and off.
He tossed it and it exploded, unleashing a wave of green energy that weakened the two even further than being worn out made them.
"What is this?!..." Chill asks.
"A sort of minor version of the new Plasmius Maximus, it'll only last three minutes, which is 2 more we need..." The leader said.
The Vultures spun around the two before swooping in, hitting both in the back of the head and knocking them out.
With Chill and Glacier out cold, the Vultures rose to the air as they searched the area for Danielle.
"Come on out girlie, we know you're here. Come back to Papa and then we can get that map too..."The lead vulture said as he and the lab animals ghosts waited for her.
Dani frowned and glared at them but did not move from her hiding spot.
"Come on...think...Maybe I can phase out of here..."She thought as she tried to think of something.
All the while, the vultures and mutant lab animals, which were slowly breaking free from the ice, were looking around.
The bear, however, saw her footsteps in the snow as she tried to sneak away and growled.
"I think she went this way. Let's get her!..." The one in sunglasses went.
"Boss wants her in one piece, he didn't say no scratches!..."The leader said, eager to get this over with.
"Oh no..."Dani thought as they got closer.
It was then something shot them down.
First it was the birds, then it was the mutated animals, all of them falling just before they could get to her hiding spot.
"Huh?!..." Dani went as she saw that her salvation came in the most unexpected way.
Just before these creeps could find her hiding spot, someone appeared to them as she raised her weapon.
"Prepare to eat hot plasma!..."Was shouted.
The ghost vultures, the mutated ghost animals and even the ghost girl (who was still hiding), were stunned by who showed up.
"Who the heck is this?..." Dani thought in confusion as the new warrior stood menacingly.
Mandie frowned as she glared at these strange ghostly beings that vaguely reminded her of the slain poultry dinners she used to have as a child.
"Whatever it is you servants of Plasmius are after, you shall not have it!..." Mandie shouted.
The vultures, on the ground, shook their heads before taking in just what hit them. Mandie frowned in annoyance as she glared at these strange ghostly beings, all of them giving her a once over.
"Hubba hubba..." They went.
"Wow! Hey boys, get a look at the feisty young thing..."One of the vultures said as he whistled, liking what he saw.
"I'm lookin'... I feel 1000 years younger!..." The lead vulture said.
"Hey good-looking, watcha doin' here? Please tell me you're here for me..."The vulture with sunglasses said, making bedroom eyes.
Mandie sent them a disgusted scowl.
"Don't even bother! I have higher standards than some old birds..." She said with her arms crossed.
"We're not that old! Most vultures live up to 10 years! Or is it 30?..." One of them asks.
"We're over 2000 years old! For all we know, we were 8 when we bit the big one, or it bit us... whichever way it happened."
Mandie frowned in annoyance and raised her blade.
"Let's see how poltergeist poultry tastes when I'm done with you!..." She shouted.
"Hey Gorgeous, ya mind waitin'? We'se just got to get that little ankle biter there to the boss, as soon as we find her, that is..."The lead vulture said.
Mandie spotted Dani who was peaking from her hiding spot, but the vultures couldn't see her due to looking...or ogling the alien female. She noticed that she shook her head quickly to indicate she doesn't want to go before looking back at the birds.
Mandie sent a frown at the vultures and stood firm.
"I don't what you are after or why whoever it is you are talking about is of importance but it doesn't matter to me...any friend of Plasmius...is an enemy of mine!..."Mandie said as she raised her fiery sword and got in a fighting stance.
While most would find the display of strength as discouraging, it had an opposite affect on the birds, at least with one of them.
"Violence...suddenly she's even more attractive than before. I'm impressed..."The vulture with sun glasses said with a grin while his comrades glared at him.
"Not impressed enough to take chances with the boss, get 'er boys!..."The lead vulture said as they all readied themselves to attack the alien girl.
Mandie, however, wasn't going to be taken by surprised by ghosts against and decided to use a certain secret weapon she has been working on.
"I was saving this for that pointy haired mongrel...but I suppose a practice test will do..."Mandie said as she pulled out an updated version of her sword.
One that she had been experimenting with and wasn't ready...it was a proto-type but if her hunch is right, it would be more than enough for these feather-headed morons.
"Prepare to be taken alive...or dead or however it work for you creatures..."Mandie said as she aimed her untested sword at them.
"Please work..."She thought as she hoped this wouldn't backfire.
She then fired her sword and thankfully, it didn't backfire at all. The vultures gasped as soon they and the ghostly animals were it and frozen in carbonate, much like how those Earth fairies from her old universe were during their first encounter.
Mandie looked over her fallen foes as she sent them a disgusted look.
"Too bad these effects are temporary but I'm just glad that they're taken care of..."Mandie said as she looked and saw that small girl had already left.
"I guess she fled when those dirty birds were distracted..."She thought, looking around.
"Thanks!..." Dani's voice called out as Mandie looked up.
Mandie soon saw the white haired girl flee.
She raised a brow.
"I have no idea why that Blue Freak was after her, but at least his plot is thwarted for now..."Mandie thought, satisfied that she managed to ruin that much for her enemy.
She then sported a more determined look.
"Now to get to their master and deal with him personally..."She said as she fired up her rocket boots and took off, eager to get her payback.
Unknown to her, Dani looked back in the direction of her unexpected savior, sighing in relief.
"I don't know who that was, or what that was, but I owe her..."Dani thought as she wanted to go back but knew it was best to keep running and wait until Vlad was gone.

Back with Danny
The ghost boy was still facing off against his older foe, wanting to just get this over with.
"Give up Daniel, you have no chance at winning against a more experi-..."Vlad was cut off when one of Danny's ecto-blasts managed to graze his right cheek.
"Oh, shut up, you're making my ears hurt! It's the most damage you've caused!..."Danny shouted as he kicked him in the stomach.
"You interrupted me!...Now you're just being rude..."Vlad said in annoyance as he fired.
Danny was about to get out of the way, but the blast came too quickly, knocking him down.
Vlad landed on Danny, stomping a foot on his back. But before he could attack, someone flew in.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!..." This person said before kicking Vlad off Danny.
"What the-..."Vlad shouted in outrage.
"Huh?..."Danny asked, confused.
"PLASMIUS! Face me like a warrior or be slain like the cowered you truly are!..."Mandie said as she made herself known, looking furious and blood thirsty as she glared at Plasmius.
The two halfa's were surprised to see her.
"What are you doing here?..."Danny asked, angry to see her again so soon.
"You?! I thought you had left already..."Vlad said before smirking. "No matter, looks like I can get a bargaining chip to use as leverage once I start my plans against Boudacia..."He said, eager to get his prizes AND an alien hostage.
Mandie growled.
"Don't even think that you can get away with humiliating me!..."Mandie said as her claws extracted, ready to slice her new enemy to bits.
"Oooh, I'm so threatened by your dangerous looking manicure..."Vlad said mockingly as he seemed confident in his chances of victory.
Mandie snarled as her hair turned into fire, stomping the snow as it melted beneath her.
"SHUT UP!..."Mandie shouted as she jumped up, lunging at the man.
But in her anger, had forgotten that Plasmius had the same skill set as Danny. The man turned intangible as the girl went though him. However, unlike the ghost boy, the man Oder halfa turned solid and grabbed Mandie by the ankle, twirling her around before throwing her into a still stunned Danny.
"Oh, please. Do you really think a child like yourself has any hope in defeating me?…"Vlad taunted as he remained unharmed.
"In retrospect, I might have come in without a proper plan of combat..."Mandie said, somewhat in a daze.
"Get off me!..."Danny said in annoyance as pushed Mandie off him, standing up as he glared at the girl.
"I'm only gonna ask this once: what the heck are you doing here!? We had an agreement!…"Danny yelled while the alien girl snapped out of it.
"Indeed..." Mandie said, getting up.
"And while I did agree to leave, there was never a statement of when..." The girl said as she grabbed her sword and pointed it at Vlad, who was still taking his time, watching with a smug smirk.
"So I am here, taking my revenge against this new enemy…"She said, being serious.
Danny groaned, wishing he made finer print in the deal. It was always the one thing he overlooked out of teenage apathy.
"Okay, maybe we didn't say anything, but that doesn't mean I need your help! I can handle this cheesehead on my own, just fine!…"Danny retorted.
"Why would his head be made of cheese? Your world's insults are confusing..."She said.
"Inside joke..."Danny said, facepalming.
The two teens kept talking as Vlad watched and smiled.
"Well, I can wipe them both out at once..." He said to himself.
Mandie redirected her attention towards Vlad despite still speaking with Danny.
"Come on, we have a mutual enemy here and we'll have a much better chance at defeating him if we work together..."Mandie said.
"I still don't trust you..."Danny said with hesitation.
"Right now, you don't have to trust me...just fight with me and we can deal with our mutual issues later..."Mandie said.
Danny thought about it and nodded.
While maybe he could handle Vlad, the boy was here to protect. So any victory would be meaningless if he couldn't make sure Dani was alright. He had to let this evil girl hang around a while longer.
"Alright, fine, but follow my lead…"Danny commanded.
Mandie nodded and the two took stances by each other.
Vlad saw them and scoffed.
"Oh how sweet, a couple of disgusting lovebirds teaming up with one another to fight against a common enemy. How adorable..."He said sarcastically.
"We're not lovebirds and you are so going down!..."Danny said as he fired blasts at him.
Vlad made an energy wall to block the attack.
Mandie readied her flame sword and got into her battle stance.
"Prepare to taste my hot plasma blade!..."Mandie screeched as she stood with her beloved behind her.
Both teens charged at the evil half ghost, determined to end this fight one way or the other.
