Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 35: A Princess's Plan
The Next Day
Danny was dealing with a typical day at school, such as dealing with boring lessons from Mr. Lancer and dealing with ghosts after and during class time.
It's just going to be another typical day for him, or so it seems.
"At this rate, I'll need to apply for a permanent hall pass for all the ghost attacks..."The ghost boy thought as he went to his locker to get his book for his next class.
His friends were there but Sam was still in a sour mood, even more than usually and the ghost boy can probably guess why.
It was mainly because of a certain alien girl who Danny is giving a chance for friendship. Still, he just tried to focus on his day and not worry about the negatives in his everyday life.
He tried to focus on his studies for now.
"Anyone study for the history exam?..."Danny asked.
"If you did, you'd know not to repeat it..."Sam said, not even looking at him right now.
"So are you saying that you didn't study for the history exam or you did?..."Danny questioned, annoyed by her attitude.
"Of course I did. Unlike some people, I know what I'm getting myself into..."Sam muttered and he sighed as he knew what she meant.
He knew that she was upset due to still not liking his recent decisions and she was NOT discreet about it. In fact, she was still nagging him whenever she could.
"Sam, we've been over this. Mandie is not as bad as she seems. And as long as she follows our agreement, things will be fine..."Danny said and the goth girl crossed her arms and looked away from him.
He sighed as he knew that she still did not approve and while part of him can't blame her (since even he still had some partial doubts), he still believes he made the right choice in offering Mandie a chance to redeem herself.
"Sam, isn't there like a saying or something about giving people second chances?..."He said.
"You mean people who deserve it and not alien princesses who are looking to put you in a shotgun wedding?!..."Sam scoffed, clearly stubborn in her opinions.
"Me and Mandie already reached an understanding and she's been honoring her side of our agreement until now. And for the record Sam, I'm not changing my mind on this..."He said, angering her more.
"The only reason you're even tolerating her at all is because of her looks and because she's been throwing herself at you..."Sam accused.
"You know that's not true. Mandie saved Dani's life and I owe her one. Besides, underneath all that battle hungry and power obsession, she's kinda fun...in her own way..."Danny said.
"I highly doubt that. Especially since you just mentioned battle hungry and power obsession..."Sam muttered, too angry to even talk to him right now.
"Nice going, Fenton. You managed to peeve off one of the only real friends you've got. But it's not like I can just go back to being enemies with Mandie if she is trying to go straight..."He thought, knowing that she is upset.
Before he could try and talk to her again, the familiar drama of high school called to him. In the worst way possible, like always.
"FENTON! WHERE ARE YOU?! I JUST FAILED AN ESSAY, SO I'M GOING TO TAKE IT OUT ON YOU!..."Dash's voice shouted, looking for his favorite target to give him a wailing.
Danny heard this and groaned.
"Oh great, Dash wants a punching bag..."He said as he fled.
He quickly hid in a closet, turned invisible and phased out. He stayed invisible as he watched Dash march around, looking for him. Tucker already hid due to not wanting to be a target for Dash's misplaced aggression either, while Sam just leaned against the locker walls, ignoring him.
Dash saw her and and scowled. The surly jock marched right up to question her, hunching himself to look more intimidating as he talks.
"Manson, where's Fenton?!..."The jock demanded.
Sam rolled her eyes and scoffed a bit.
"And just what makes you think I'll tell you?..."Sam said in a snarky way, angering the jock.
"Don't give me lip, goth loser. I know he's here somewhere. Now tell me where Fenton is! Your boyfriend is in for a world of hurt!..."He said.
"HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND AND I'M NOT TALKING! SO TAKE A HIKE!..."Sam snapped at him.
She shouted so loud that the jock actually stepped back a little, not that she cared. She has been in a bad mood since this whole "Mandie thing" started and the jock was making it worse.
Dash, however, snapped out of it and continued to pester her.
"Quit your lame back talk already, now where is he?!..."He demanded.
"I dunno, maybe he's hiding in the same place where all your good grades disappeared to!..."Sam shot at him, which made Danny snicker a bit as he watched this.
Dash growled at her attitude but couldn't do much since Lancer appeared and also since bully or not, Dash doesn't hit girls. He grumbled and stormed away to search for his favorite target as the ghost boy watched, shaking his head.
"What a moron..."Danny thought as he made a mental note to watch his back today.
"I'd really like it if he stopped harassing me, but I'll have to wait till Dash actually learns something to keep his grades up..."He mentally cringed, not wanting to deal with Dash's nonsense today.
He then decided to remain invisible for a while as he got ready for his next class, all the while keeping an eye out for flying fists.
Later
School had let out and Danny was lucky enough to avoid Dash thanks to his powers.
He still wasn't happy with the jock's constant use of his bad grades just to justify his reasons to pick on him and the other students. At least, whenever the teachers or school staff weren't around.
"Every time he fails, he always comes after me..."He complained, shaking his head. "You'd think after so many failed test scores that he'd be kicked off the football team by now but it's almost like he's doing it on purpose just to have an excuse to make my life even more miserable..."He muttered, hating this but was at least glad he managed to avoid that jerk today.
He decided to just head home and try and forget what happened today, maybe even relax with some video games or something.
Sam was busy due to some meeting with her regular protestors against another one of Vlad's environmentally-unfriendly projects and Tucker was trying to schmooze his parents into letting him add some new updates to his PDA...again.
The halfa was alone now and decided to take a flight to clear his head.
"This is exactly what I needed, no Dash, no ghosts and no random ghost attacks, no ghost hunters who may or may not be related to me trying to tear me apart molecule by molecule. Just me and my thoughts..."He said as the the cool winds in his hair.
His mind went back to his time with Mandie when they were at the carnival together. He still couldn't believe she was able to look human AND behave herself...in her own way.
He is still not interested in marrying her but at the very least, the alien princess was being a lot LESS crazy and pushy than she was before.
"So far, she's hasn't given me a reason to call off our deal. Maybe she can be redeemed...'He thought, feeling pretty good with himself right now
However, things were short lived when he spotted something entering the atmosphere and heading towards him. It was then that a sci-fi looking pod appeared before him, one that gave him an uneasy feeling.
"Spoke too soon..."Danny complained, as he flew over to the spacecraft that was floating in the air.
However, it didn't attack him, it just did a quick scan of him with a light blue light.
"Hey, what are you-..."He was cut off when the machine began to analyzing him.
"Greetings...This is a message from Princess Mandie of Boudacia to Danny Phantom of Earth..."The pod said.
Danny heard this and was a bit taken aback by this, but then sighed, rubbing his face with his hand.
"Of course..."He said as listen to the rest of this message.
The pod then pulled something out and Danny saw that it was both a present and a video recording.
He also got another "email" from her, but at the very least, this one didn't destroy anyone's lawn.
"Greetings, Danny Phantom. I hope that you are doing well. I have also been doing fine as well. Our last little outing was joyous, more so than I'd care to admit~..."Mandie's recording said, looking kinda bashful... almost like a normal girl... sort of.
"Well...at least she didn't break anything this time by sending me this..."He thought as he was just happy that this message was brought in a not-so destructive manner.
He kept listening to her message.
"Part of the reason I have sent another message to you is to both send you a token of my…gratitude as a gift...and to request something. A question, if you will..."Mandie said, smiling innocently.
"She did all this just to ask me something?..."He thought, but then realized that this IS pretty tamed compared to her past stunts.
The alien princess's recording then began to end, with her striking a pose to catch his attention.
"I shall be patiently awaiting for your response. Please contact me on your phone if you wish to discuss matter further or have any questions…and by all means, give me a call. Toodles..."She said before blowing a kiss to him, ending the message.
Danny rolled his eyes and gave a dry chuckle over his situation.
"She SO wants to go on an actual date still..."He thought but waved it off.
He then noticed the present that she sent him and inspected it, eyeing it carefully.
"Well, it doesn't feel or sound like it's going to explode in my face or anything. So, that's probably a good sign..."He thought with a shrug as he opened it.
He soon saw that it was drone in the shape of a miniature space satellite probe and it was near identical. Even tiny details like lettering were accurate.
The ghost boy could only stare at it in awe, admiring it.
"Wow! How did she know that I love NASA space models and where did she get this?!..."He thought as he began to think about her other request.
He didn't think that it was too unreasonable to begin with, but he figured figure that he should talk her about this first.
He soon landed to a safe, isolated area and pulled out his phone, the one that Mandie had given him. He quickly dialed her number and waited as the dial tone started ringing.
After a few moments, there was an answer.
"Mandie?…"Danny asked soon as he heard the pick up.
"Hello, Darling..."Mandie said, her voice was deep with anticipation.
"Mandie, it's only been a day since we last saw each other. I don't know how time works on your home planet but on Earth, we usually wait a bit longer than that..."Danny said.
"Did I do something wrong?..."She questioned, sounding worried on her end.
Danny sighed.
"No, you didn't do anything wrong but I just wasn't expecting to hear from you so soon. Plus, I'm a teenager who has school and stuff, so you can't just send your sci-fi messages to me like that for obvious reasons..."He said and the alien princess looked a little upset now.
"I'm sorry but...I wanted to see you again and I thought it would not be any trouble if I contacted you first instead of showing up unannounced. I thought it would be better to talk first..."Mandie said, looking embarrassed.
A part of Danny couldn't help but admit that this was kinda flattering...in a weird, unorthodox way but he has to maintain boundaries with her.
"Well, thank you for considering my feelings...in your own way..."He said but tried to stay on topic. "So, what did you want to ask me?..."He asked.
Mandie sounded like she cheered up when she answered him.
"Before I ask, did you enjoy the gift I sent you?..."She asked, sounding eager for some approval.
Danny looked at it and smiled brightly, genuinely liking it.
"Yeah, it's awesome. Where and how did you manage to get something like this?..."Danny asked and he heard her squeal in happiness.
"It was a simple matter of clever research of some of your earth's own space achievements, as well as my empire's talents of manufacturing and innovation..."She said, happy that he likes it. "Now, like I said...I want to see you again and I wanted to request another day of hanging out with you and exploring more of your home..."She said.
"I wanted to see more of your earth. Last night was…thrilling. I've never seen the planet in such a way before…"She said, sounding earnest right now.
Danny wanted to reply, but let the girl continue. If anything, her fascination shown proved a lot about her.
"So...when can we…hang out again?..."Mandie asked in an intrigued tone.
Danny knew that she wasn't going to give up empty handed and he tried to meet her half-way.
"Well, I guess we can see each other tomorrow after school, I don't have any plans then..."He said, having no reason to say no to her right now.
"Goody, I look forward to our next...meet and greet..."Mandie said with some flirtation in her tone.
"Just remember your promise to respect our agreement..."Danny reminded and Mandie pouted.
"Of course, I haven't forgotten. As princess, I'll honor our agreement..."The alien princess said before giggling.
"Until we meet again, Danny Phantom..."Mandie said flirtatiously before ending the call.
Danny sighed and realized that he pretty much just agreed to spending another afternoon with the alien princess, who obviously isn't going to give up until he accepts a date with her.
"Well, anything life has thrown so far I've handled. What's the worst that could happen?..."He thought as he simply shrugged is shoulders, it's not like he had any reason to complain about it.
He decided to go back home and prepare for his next encounter with the princess, just hoping that things wouldn't get out of control.
The Next Day
It was after school and Danny soon went to the same place he agreed to meet Mandie at the same place she arrived last time. The alien girl was already there, with the fake-i-fier on hand and already in use.
"Hello again, Darling..."Mandie said, smiling. "I see that you are earlier than the bird after it hunts the earth worm, as the Earth saying goes..."She said as she turning the dial on her belt.
"It's nice to see you again too, Mandie..."Danny said, as he approached her. "And the saying is "the early bird gets the worm"..."He corrected.
"Duly noted..."The alien princess said, sending him a flirty smile.
"So, are you ready for our outing?..."Mandie asked, still smiling.
"Sure..."Danny said and the alien princess smiled wider.
"Splendid..."She said.
Mandie soon transformed to her human form and gave Danny a sultry look that made him blush a bit.
"I gotta admit, whether she in her real form or in disguise, she is really beautiful..."He thought as the alien princess walked up to him and offered to hold his hand.
Danny politely declined the offer and the princess accept, pouting a bit but not letting this set her back.
"So, shall we go?..."She asked.
"Sure..."Danny answered.
The two teenagers then left together, for their next outing.
Meanwhile
Unknown to Danny and Mandie, a certain goth girl had left the Skulk and Lurk book shop, looking even more bitter than usual.
"That royal pain!..."Sam thought, still upset.
She was still upset by Danny's sudden "friendship" with Mandie, and not even her favorite kind of dark and dreary gothic poetry about darkness and despair couldn't cheer her up.
She just couldn't stop thinking about Danny and that space case together.
"There's no way Danny can't see she's too evil for him. I just know that she's going to trick him into breeding super soldiers the first chance she gets..."She muttered under her breath as she decided to walk away and find something to take her mind off them.
No sooner than she turned the corner, she ran into Tucker.
"Hey, Tuck..."Sam said.
"Hey Sam, just going to go install a new virus detector for my PDA, something to keep it from crashing on this new anime streaming site I found..."He said before noticing her expression.
"Man, you look awful..."He said.
Sam frowned.
"Thanks, girls just love hearing that!..."Sam snapped at him.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to step on any toes. Just showing some sympathy..."Tucker apologized.
"Whatever, nothing a good night's sleep won't fix..."Sam muttered. "Have you seen Danny?..."She asked.
"I thought he was hanging with you..."Tucker said.
"I haven't seen him since school..."Sam said, sounding a bit concerned.
Tucker, however, brushed it off, not seeing any reason to worry yet.
"He's probably just chilling at home or dealing with the Box Ghost again for the ten millionth time..."Tucker guessed.
Before Sam could say anything, they suddenly heard a familiar voice talking...and laughing.
"No way, are you serious?..."A high, feminine voice was heard, along with a giggle.
"Totally, it served him right though..."A voice that they knew very well was heard.
The two teens turned around and Sam's eyes narrowed when she saw who it was. It was Danny, who was with Mandie (who is in her human form), and they were both walking, talking and laughing together about something,
Sam's eyes narrowed at the sight of them.
"You gotta be kidding me!..."She napped as she marched towards them.
Tucker saw this and sighed.
"And there goes my afternoon..."Tucker muttered as he went after her to make sure she doesn't do anything too crazy.
With Danny and Mandie
Danny had been on the way to take Mandie to the mall and show her what an earth mall is like. During that time, they talked and exchanged stories.
He told her about the time he battled Skulker when they had been shrunk down and how it ended with his foe being shrunk and frozen for a while, which Mandie found humorous.
"I must say Danny, you certainly had quite a sense of humor when dealing with your foes. It's almost Boudacian like, only a little more tame..."Mandie said.
"Thanks...I think..."Danny said, unsure of how to react towards that compliment.
However, their "bonding" was cut short when he heard a familiar voice.
"Danny!..."Sam shouted as she approached them.
"Sam..."Danny said while Mandie frowned at the sight of her.
"What is she doing here?!..."Mandie thought, not liking that her time with Danny was being interrupted.
Sam glared at her while Tucker tried to think of something fast.
"Uh, hey man...We were just passing by...who's your hot-looking friend?..."Tucker asked, acting like this is the first time he saw Mandie's disguised form.
Danny bought it and went with the flow as he reintroduced the alien girl, though he tried to keep things on the down low.
"Oh, uh...guys...it's Mandie...she's in disguise..."Danny explained, in a hushed tone as to not blow their cover.
"What is she still doing here?!..."Sam thought in anger.
Sam contorted her face with a closed, deep scowl. She acted on her instinct and reached for her bag with one hand as the other pointed at Mandie.
"Hands where I can see them! You better not be trying to knock Danny out and take to you home world to turn him into your personal plaything because I'll have a Fenton Bazooka at the ready to send you packing all the way to your war capitalist world..."She threatened.
Mandie growled and was tempted to pull out her sword and strike swiftly and without warning, wanting to slash the goth girl's weapon to pieces.
"What was that supposed to be? Some sad attempt to threaten me?!..."Mandie said, baring her fangs, even though she's in disguise.
Danny got in between the two girls, trying to immediate things.
"WHOA, WHOA THERE! TAKE IT EASY..."Danny shouted.
"Sam, Mandie asked for permission to come here. I'm just gonna show her around..."Danny said but the goth girl sent him a glare.
"I can't believe that you're still letting this maniac near you without any protection, especially after what she tried to pull..."Sam said.
"What's that suppose to mean?!..."Mandie said, getting angrier.
"That you're just some dangerous, ruthless, man hunting, spoiled alien princess who's only here because she can't take no for an answer!..."Sam shot at her.
Mandie growled at that but Danny held her back.
"Stand down, Mandie..."Danny ordered and the alien princess reluctantly obeyed.
Sam smirked, but it dropped when Danny glared at her.
"That goes for you too, Sam. That was not cool..."He scolded, much to her disbelief.
Mandie smirked at that, while Sam frowned harder.
"I'm not the one who started all this. Why do you always have to give people second chances when they don't deserve it?..."Sam muttered, as she clenches her fists.
Danny sighed. Before he could say or do anything to keep this from escalating, his ghost sense went off.
"Not again. I gotta go ghost..."He said.
"Do you need assistance to take down your foes?..."Mandie asked, wanting some action.
Before Danny could say anything, the identity of the ghost was made clear by the sound of his voice
"WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND?!..."Was heard.
Danny sighed.
"Don't bother, it's just Klemper. This one usually takes me 5 minutes of most, just wait right here and I'll be right back..."Danny said as he went to a place to change and then deal with Klemper personally.
Leaving Sam alone with Mandie and Tucker. Tucker realized how awkward and potentially dangerous this is and gulped.
"Uh...I'll just go and see if the tech shop is having a sale. Bye..."He excused himself and ran as fast as possible, leaving the two females alone, glaring at each other.
While Danny dealt with the ghost and Tucker hid for his own safety, as the two females continued their own squabble. Sam glared at the female alien, who glared back. The goth girl couldn't believe that Danny has chosen to even associate with this alien invader, much less be friend with her, especially since she clearly wanted to be romantically involved with him.
"I see that you are that your disguise hides more than just your obvious ulterior motives..."Sam said, being hostile.
Mandie noticed this and returned the gesture will trying to remain as non-violent as possible.
I could say the same about your form. After all, you're not coming over to greet me. If you have something to say to me, then just spit it out already!.."Mandie retorted.
Sam glared at that.
"You have some nerve to think you can just walk around here like nothing happened!..."Sam said, mad about that. " I still can't believe you have the gall to even return to this planet after what you tried to do..."She said but the alien princess did not back down.
"Because Danny allowed it..."Mandie said, just as hostile. "I am looking forward to spending a lovely afternoon with my beloved...far away from the likes of you..."She added, teasing the goth girl.
Sam gritted her teeth at that.
"I can't believe that Danny is actually trusting this...this...SPACE CASE!..."She thought in anger.
"I guess it's okay to forgive evil aliens who don't respect others opinions of them or personal space after they wear you down..."Sam said, rolling her eyes.
Mandie growled and felt her hair flicker a bit but tried to control herself.
"Stay in control, this human is a platonic friend of Danny's...and he would not like it if I did her harm...even if she invites it..."She thought as she tried to control herself and stop herself from tearing the other female apart.
The goth girl smirked as she saw how she got under the alien girl's skin. Though the win was small, she decided to see how far it could go in her favor.
"I mean, is there any reason Danny should even think about liking you? I mean, it seems your looks are the only reason he'd talk to you..."Sam said, not losing her nerve and just continued to stare down this alien menace.
Mandie didn't back down either as she had some ammo of her own.
"Perhaps he sees the real beauty within me. I do not think he is able to do the same with you. Same with strength..."Mandie quipped, striking a nerve in the other girl.
"Just who do you think you are?!..."Sam said, her face turning red.
"I am the crown princess and heir to the Boudacian throne...as well as a bride-to-be if all goes well with Danny..."Mandie said and smirked when she saw the look of jealousy across Sam's face.
"Oh, that's just perfect to hear about. You're not just pain to deal with, but you're a royal one at that. If Danny didn't insist on giving you a second chance, I would gladly send you back to your planet..."Sam said, as her anger raised even more now.
"You're more than welcome to try, but be prepared for utter failure when you do make your poor attempt to challenge me..."Mandie said, folding her arms with that gave off an undefeated attitude.
"She almost as stuck up and full of herself as Paulina, no wonder I don't her but I can't just start a fight in public. Not like this..."Sam thought, still hating this alien very much for all the trouble she has caused.
"I must be careful not to harm this girl too much. Only because it would upset Danny...even if he's too good for her, anyway..."Mandie thought, glaring at her in a territorial kind of way.
She could tell that she wanted him. Mandie knew that and usually on Boudacia, when two females wanted the same male, they battle for him and the winner is the one to earn his hand as her prize but she knew that humans don't work the same way on this planet and she didn't want to risk upsetting Danny now that he was finally staring to warm up to her her.
So, she would settle for acting polite, even if it's with another female who might challenge her for his love...for now.
"I sense jealousy more than defensiveness..."Mandie thought, not trusting this female.
"Just know this, so long as I'm here, none of whatever plans that you have in mind for Danny are ever gonna happen..."Sam warned her.
Mandie glared at that but was not threatened but kept her guard up. She might look fragile but Mandie learned a long time ago not to underestimate earthlings, since that lead to her defeat and imprisonment in the first place.
A mistake that she won't repeat in this new universe for sure.
Still, she chose to respond this way.
"My plan is to win his heart and so far, things seem to be working out just fine..."Mandie explained, arms crossed. "And at least I'm more out in the open about what I want, unlike a certain someone who's more willing to stalk and annoy me than acting strong enough to be upfront with him. That's all on you..."She said, infuriating the girl even more but Sam gasped once she registered what she just implied.
"W-What are you talking about?!..."Sam said, denial visible on her face but Mandie cut to the chase.
"Don't think that I'm clueless to your REAL intentions, earth girl! Because I can smell the romantic pheromones you're giving off whenever you're around my beloved..."Mandie said. "As well as a desperate need for deodorant too. Seriously, your human sweat is pretty overwhelming..."Mandie said as she even covered her nose for a moment, angering and insulting Sam even more.
"I'M A GOTH! WE DON'T SWEAT, WE SIMMER!..."Sam yelled at her, angry and insulted by what she just said. "And Danny is just my friend and I'm protecting him from you!..."She insisted and Mandie rolled her eyes.
"I don't care what you call it, just know this... I am NOT going to surrender Danny, especially to the likes of you. So, if you don't back off, then be prepared for a battle for his love..."Mandie said, once again being territorial.
Before Sam could yell at her or deny her accusations, Danny soon returned and didn't even look exhausted or out of breath from battling that ghost, only giving off a literal colder aura as he shrugged it off.
"Alright that's enough of that, let's all just chill out and have fun. We all have made bygones, so let's just relax and leave things as they are..."The ghost boy said, oblivious to the real reason behind their argument.
Both females still glared at each other but Mandie decided to take the first step at the battlefield called love.
"My thoughts exactly, Darling..."She said as she stepped closer to Danny, earning a glare from the goth girl.
"That little royal, bratty, brown-noser! ..."Sam thought as her fists clenched, squeezing the blood still.
Mandie smirked at this and played innocent as she wrapped her arm around the ghost boy's, wanting his attention back on her.
"Come along Danny and and let us continue our special outing together..."Mandie said as she took Danny by the arm.
"Uh, okay..."Danny said as he turned to Sam. "I'll see you later, Sam..."Danny said before they both left.
Sam saw this and scowled with one of her eyes twitching.
With the ghost boy completely oblivious to what's really going on as they kept walking away, the alien girl looked behind them and gave off a bit of a mocking smirk towards the goth girl.
Sam gritted her teeth and almost fumed out her ears. Her anger, hate, distrust and frustration growing more and more as the alien left with the ghost boy that was important to her in more ways than she's willing to admit.
"I'll find a way to get rid of you..."Sam thought, remaining silent as they left but wouldn't leave things as they are.
Tucker soon came back, with his purchases at hand and saw that Mandie and Danny were gone.
"So, did I miss anything?..."He asked, while his female friend ignored him.
She just fumed silently as she just wanted to get Mandie as far away as possible from Danny.
She just had to find the opportunity to do so.
