Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!

Chapter 45: Changes

While Danny and Mandie had been on their date, Sam was brooding at the Skulk and Lurk book store for most of the day.

She was listening to yet another one of her fellow goths recite poetry about despair and decay but even that can cheer her up. Her mind is still on her predicament with a certain ghost boy.

"I can't believe that Danny can be so stupid like this..."She thought in frustration as she walked out of the book store, too bitter to even enjoy the gloomy poetry.

The fuming goth was by herself, miserable. Tucker was doing something with his parents and she hasn't even heard a single word from Danny since yesterday. They hadn't even talked much since school, as he was still being too stubborn to admit that he made an error in judgement regarding a certain space case that never should have entered his life.

"The only reason he's even giving her a chance is because of her looks. I really hate how much his hormones cloud his judgement..."She muttered under her breath, still fuming.

As she turned the corner, she passed by a store that had several televisions on display...which also happen to have a news report.

"And while the fire seemed to have come out of nowhere, thankfully, with the help of Danny Phantom and his new partner that just appeared, the fire was kept under control and didn't spread until more fire trucks came, and the people inside were saved thanks to our ghostly hero and his new partner..."Lancer Thunder said on the news.

Sam, who had been passing by, stopped in her tracks upon hearing this.

"What...did...he...say?..."She let out.

Sam rushed to the television and saw the footage of some building on fire, with Danny trying to put it out but he's not alone...no, there's some masked woman...with purple hair.

"No way!..."She thought, getting furious.

Later

After the fire, Danny and Mandie enjoyed the rest of their date, which includes a lively walk through the park, watching some street performers, browsing through some stores, sight-seeing during flights, listening to the local bands and finally dinner and dessert. Now they were sitting at a bench, even admiring the sun set.

They both had so much fun with each other and enjoyed their time together that they nearly lost track of time. It took looking Danny's phone for them, they laughed it off until they recalled that they were expected home soon. So, reluctantly, Mandie and him went back to where her space ship was parked, but Mandie still had her hand in his, not that he minded and almost didn't even notice at first.

Danny and Mandie had bonded beyond expectations, holding each other's hands till they arrived at the ship.

No words were exchanged till Danny made the first move. He wrapped an arm around her.

"All honesty, this has been fun..."Danny said.

"Indeed, but it's getting late..."Mandie said, a little bummed about that.

The ghost boy shrugged.

"I guess this is where we say goodbye, for now…"Danny said with a small blush.

Mandie said nothing, smiling as she grabbed hold of the ghost boy.

"You…need something? Cause I can't ride with you, it's still…"Danny stopped as Mandie turned off the fake-I-fier.

"I believe this works. I landed not far..."She said, pointing ahead.

Soon, the alien princess arrived to her ship. However, before she went inside, she sent a special look at her beloved.

"Uh, Darling..."Mandie said, blushing deeply as she look into glowing green eyes.

Danny gulped, wondering what the girl wanted. He figured she wanted something before she goes. The alien princess fidgeted for a moment, as she tried to build up the nerve to ask the ghost boy something.

"Since...this is the end of the date and it will be a while till the next one...well..."Mandie paused.

"Yeah?..."Danny asked, raising a brow with a smile.

"I know that we agreed to take things slow but...perhaps we could ends with a good night kiss?..."She asked, squeeing her hand.

Right now, she seemed more like a freshman in high school than an alien warrior.

Danny gave a coy look and stared. Part of him found someone with such ferocity acting like this amusing. As he thought this over for a moment, he figured another wouldn't hurt.

"Then again, we've already kissed earlier today, so what's the harm in one more?..."He considered before nodding.

"Alright, I guess since the date was awesome and a lot more fun than I expected, so why not?..."He said, deciding to oblige her.

Due to Mandie's height, Danny floated a few inches higher and soon met her lips. Once again, the teens melted into the moment as Mandie wrapped her arms around the boy.

The seconds felt like an eternity to her, making things all the more boring when they separated.

MUAH!~

The two had parted and Mandie could not stop grinning, the feeling on her lips left a tingle.

Although she could definitely still remember the feeling of his lips pressed against hers and she smiled. She took the feeling in with a breath, looking lovesick right now.

"Is it always gonna be like this? I do not mind it at all…"Mandie said with a breathy voice. "Plus, is it possible you're teasing me and leaving me wanting more?..."She said, with one eyebrow raised.

Danny's face turned red before answering.

"Hard to say, I guess only time will tell. Maybe I'm doing it without knowing it or you're the one doing ig…"He panted for a moment as he returned to the ground.

His face is still red.

As both teens tried straighten themselves out after that display of affection towards each other, they remembered what they had to do.

They have to get home before they get in trouble with their respective parents, which would be a downer, especially such a fun day today.

"Bye Danny...I look forward to our next date..."Mandie said, as she winked at him.

He gave a thumb's up.

"Yeah... I'll let you know when we can go out, next time..."Danny said, blushing and rubbing the back of his head.

Mandie giggled and quickly blew him a kiss before the doors of her space ship closed. The vessel lit up as it hovered over the ground before taking off like a rocket, only quieter in comparison.

Soon, the ship was out of earths atmosphere and satellite range but Danny still seemed to have a longing look on his face.

The ghost boy hadn't stared this hard into space since he got a new telescope from his birthday. He sighed happily, actually liking the kiss he shared with her, much more than he thought he would.

"Okay, this was awesome! I can't lie about it!..."He thought in a daze, chuckling.

So much has changed between him and Mandie and he knew that this is just the beginning, provided nothing else happens that could cause this to end.

It seemed like a long shot but the ghost boy remain optimistic about things, like genuinely redeeming her and potentially starting a real relationship.

Yeah, some might think he's crazy for doing this but he has a good feeling that he made the right call.

Anyway, the ghost boy realized that it was getting late and he is still expected home soon.

"I better head home before Mom and Dad wonder why I was almost late for curfew again..."He said as he decided to fly home before curfew.

He soared like a comet as he hurried home. Otherwise, he wouldn't be allowed out of the house for a while.

In Mandie's ship

The alien princess was in her room in the ship, while her droids had the ship on autopilot since she was too giddy to even pilot properly right now.

Mandie had her head flying beyond the clouds. Fueled by her joy, the girl would have probably discovered a new planet with how far it was.

She couldn't believe her luck. Not only was her first date a success, but now Danny is willing to kiss her on his own volitions.

More than ONCE to boot!

Mandie giggled to herself, before sighing dreamily. Playing with her purple hair as she recalled everything that had happened on her first date with Danny, especially the kissing

She had her fingers at her lips, looking truly happy and lovesick right now as she sighed dreamily, recalling that wonderful kiss.

"For the first time in a long time, things seem to be finally going my way!..."She thought, overjoyed as she daydreamed about the ghost boy, while the ship continued it's course to home.

Back on Earth

Danny had arrived home and was relieved.

Apparently, his parents were off chasing some z-list ghost, a small bird according to Jazz that was causing mischief downtown, and weren't here yet, so there was time to relax and soak in tonight's events.

"Looks like I can rest easy for tonight..."He thought, relaxing a bit

He took a breath, recalling his entire day and how it ended.

He couldn't stop himself from grinning here.

"The perfect way to end a date, sneaking back into the house without your parents knowing..."He thought, glad that he didn't have to risk getting a scolding for being late.

Or being threatened to be torn apart molecule by molecule if they caught him in his OTHER form.

However, his mind is not on that.

No, it was on Mandie and the fact that their relationship just made a huge change...one that can't be ignored.

"I willingly kissed her, more than once...wow..."He thought.

He put his hands over his eyes. Blushing red as he started to think back at what had happened during his date with Mandie today, especially the kissing.

Unlike the first times she kissed him, this was mutual and it wasn't out of some twisted posessiveness she had towards him. No, he agreed to kiss her willingly because she geniuenly wanted to be affectionate and he gave into her request...and it was pretty nice to be honest.

"A couple of weeks ago, I was pretty sure I hated her...and now, I kissed her willingly. Ironic..."He thought, chuckling to hinself as he went up the stairs.

As the ghost boy went to his room, he was surprised to see someone there, wearing an angry look on her face.

"Sam!..."Danny let out. "What are you doing here?..."He asked.

"Jazz let me in, we need to talk..."Sam said, glaring at him.

"Particularly as to your whereabouts…"She said as she scowled him

"I…was out…like every other night…"Danny said.

"With your WOULD-BE WIFE, right?..."Sam said in accusation, glaring at him more.

"Uh...huh?..."Danny said, sweating a bit.

Sam held up her phone, showing news footage of his new "partner." Angry was mildly describing her face right now.

"Mind explaining why it looks like Mandie is helping you put out a fire!?…"Sam said as she butted her face into Danny's.

"I'm…just as surprised as you are…"Danny lied on his feet and kept marching. "She appeared and wanted to help me…"

"Or she came and visited and you didn't tell me!..."Sam yelled, jabbing at the photo where Mandie introduced herself..

Danny slapped himself, knowing he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Still, he remained strong.

"Okay, me and Mandie spent the day together. So, what?..."He asked, not yet revealing that it was a date.

"So what?! Is that all you have to say for yourself?!..."She snapped.

"What else is there to say?..."Danny said, not liking this

"Plenty! You're gonna start from the beginning of your little meeting…"Sam demanded.

"Uh…no…"Danny buzzed his words, clearly not interested. "You're not my mom, so I get to keep my secrets. I don't see why I have to check in with you when I hang out with someone..."He said, arms crossed.

"Even if that person is a war hungry maniac that just wants you to be her alien baby daddy?! I still can't believe you didn't tell me she was here today!..."Sam snapped.

"What?! So, you can SPY on us again?! Mandie's not trying to cause trouble anymore and if I recall, you didn't tell me where you were going each time you hung out with that Gregor creep!..."Danny reminded, hitting a sore spot in her.

"His name was Elliot and that's beside the point!..."The goth snapped.

"The point is, nothing bad happened and I am allowed to have some secrets to myself..."He said, being stubborn.

"Like the ones you keep from your friends!? When you don't listen to their advice!?…"Sam pressed her face into Danny's with each sentence.

Danny glared, not liking this.

"Well, its not like you had been in the mood to talk to be unless it was to critisize me all week!..."He reminded.

"Don't act like this is my fault! You should have told me that SHE was here today. I can't believe you didn't tell me!..."She snapped.

"Oh! Like you are one to talk!…"Danny snapped and glared back. "In case you've conveniently forgotten, all I've gotten from you is a cold shoulder this entire time! So, forgive me if I didn't feel like talking with someone who kept ignoring me just because she didn't approve of the choices I made…"He yelled.

"Well maybe if you actually thought with he head on your shoulders, you'd realize the danger your in!…"She yelled.

"If I was in danger, you don't think I wouldn't have called?…"Danny yelled, having enough of what he'd call ancient history.

He needed his friend to calm down, but that wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

"When are you going to wake up and accept that Mandie is nothing but trouble?!..."Sam yelled at him.

"She's not like that anymore. When are you going to accept that she is capable of changing for the better?!..."Danny argued.

"You're impossible! This whole Mandie thing is a mistake and soon enough, you're gonna see that I'm right!..."She snapped, still being stubborn.

As the goth girl marched out in anger, the ghost boy sat back down on his bed, crossing his arms with a scrunched up face.

"I can't believe her. What the heck is her problem?!..."He grumbled, almost summoning his powers in frustration.

The ghost boy had half a mind to fly into the sky and scream. He knew Sam to be stubborn, but this was getting ridiculous.

"What's her problem?! Why can't she give Mandie a chance?! It's not like Mandie did something to her personally…"He muttered.

Clueless as usual, the ghost boy could not figure out his friend's true reason for her rage and anger.

Either way, he didn't really care about the real reason for her rage. He just wished that she'd stop acting like this.

"I can't believe this..."He muttered, feeling stressed out right now.

Danny's eyes landed on the model Mandie had gifted him during her last visit and he sighed, rewarding his anger as he went over to pick it up.

The sight of the ship made him calm down a bit. Especially a special message that the princess had writtwn on it, one that he didn't see until after he had brought it home.

He looked down to the bottom label that said "To the only person in two universes that was brave enough to not only challenge me in might, but also kind enough to offer me the hand of friendship when no one else ever did -Love, Mandie".

Seeing that convinced the ghost boy that he didn't make a mistake on his judgment.

He knew that, but one of the only 2 friends he has refuses to see things his way.

"Sam's wrong. I know that Mandie has changed. I just need to show her..."He thought, tapping the model like he was doing an inspection.

"The only question is…how?…"He wondered.

Danny sighed as he decided just to go to bed, too tired to even think right and deciding to deal with his issues with his goth friend some other time.

However, Sam wasn't the only problem. He just didn't know it yet.

Meanwhile

On Boudacia

Mandie strolled down the hallways, her head held high as she couldn't let her smile leave her.

"He actually kissed me... willingly..." She said under her breath, happy and still unable to get over that fact.

However, her smile dropped as someone leaning on the wall down a cross section and overheard her saying something to herself.

"Princess Mandie!…"Brutis's voice came with the inevitable downfall of emotion in the girl.

She stopped, slouching for a moment before lifting herself with a groan. Of course he had to show up and ruin her mood. Slowly, she turned around with death in her eyes, glaring at the fool.

"Unless you have something important, such as progress on the Boudacian plans, that does not include any showing off or attempts at courting me, I suggest you leave before I reintroduce you to pain and suffering!…"Mandie yelled as she could fee sparks in her hair.

"What?! What was that? You dare think my words are meaningless?!..." He demanded.

Mandie was scowling and was already bored of the conversation. She knew where this was ending again.

"Do not ignore me! On another note, where in the Galaxy have you been!?..."Brutis demanded.

"None of your business!..." Mandie snapped at him, annoyed by his nosiness.

"You went to see that earth freak again, didn't you?!..."Brutis demanded.

"One, do NOT call my darling a freak and two, that is NONE of your business..."Mandie said, her hair igniting at the insult to her beloved.

"Everything you do IS my business since I'm to be your future husband!..."Brutis yelled.

"You are NOT going to be my future husband!..." She shouted.

"Stop playing these games, we should've wedded by now!..."He yelled.

"I don't have time to waste on you, Brutis. I was in a good mood until you spoke. As usual!.."Mandie said, irritated.

"Considering you're wasting your time on Earth and away from your people, I can whatever I want!..."Brutis yelled. He pointed to her dress. "Especially since you went looking like that for some other rodent! The only being who you should dress like that for, is me!…"He shouted, pounding his chest in savage pride.

A stomp from Mandie shook the floors by a yard radius. As the shoe left the ground, it's imprint was seen, not that Brutis would notice as the girl took a few steps toward him.

"I don't have time to waste on you Brutis, so either you leave willingly or I can throw you again..."Mandie said, cracking her knuckles.

This time, Brutis backed down, fully aware of the pain that would await him.

Mandie calmed down, her hair still flaming as she turned and walked away. But before exiting, she glanced over her shoulder and smirked at the man child.

"And just to let you know, I have not wasted my time. Especially with the "progress" I've made…"She said, smirking.

"What progress?! What kind of progress could that scrawny mutation offer you?!..."Brutis demanded, hating the sound of that.

"I'd tell you of a delicious taste I had of Earth food and from what he offered me, but like I said, it's none of your business..."Mandie said beford turning and walking away.

As she left, Brutus was left fuming. His face turning red, raging face as veins appeared. All he could was clenched his fists as he watched Mandie walk away. He slammed a fist into the wall, leaving cracks despite still being a little sore from his last defeat.

"I know she said something about kissing... I cannot let this go on any further! No one steals from me... She, the throne and the future of Boudacia will be mine, one way... or the other..."He vowed.
