Chapter 62: A Talk between a father and daughter

The king and princess of Boudacia were both glaring at each other, neither breaking eye contact.

Both Boudacian royals were waiting for the other to speak up first though they kept sending each other furious looks, albeit for different reasons. The silence and tension was very thick until the king decided that he should be the one to break the silence between them.

"Daughter..."The king began, trying very hard not to sound too angry.

"Father..."The princess said in a similar tone.

This was the usual way that these two would start their serious Father-Daughter conversations. But this one is gonna be the mother of them all, the princess just knew it.

The two aliens just remained silent for a brief moment longer.

"Daughter, we must talk..."Maurus said.

"You mean you're going to talk, Father..."Mandie muttered, angering her father even more.

The werewolf-like alien growled and just ended up taking in a deep breath of air to calm himself.

"DO NOT SASS ME! YOU MIGHT HAVE GROWN, BUT YOU MUST STILL OBEY YOUR FATHER! DO YOU HEAR ME, YOUNG LADY?!..."The angry killed yelled, but Mandie was not intimidated.

"How can I not?..."She sassed once more, angering her father once again.

"This is SERIOUS, Mandie! How could you promise that Earth warrior NOT to conquer the Earth anymore?! ARE YOU MAD?!..."The king shouted, trying very hard NOT to let his fur burst into flames.

"Are we seriously going to have this same conversation again?!..."His daughter questioned, angering him even more.

The king of Boudacia was seeing red and couldn't help himself from feeling his fur beginning to spark.

"YES, WE WILL! IT MUST BE HAD..."He snarled.

"No it doesn't!..."The princess said.

Her father refused to listen to any of that.

"For the last time! Drop this nonsense! Become the bride to Brutis! And act like a PROPER princess for once in your life!..."The king yelled, enraging his daughter even more.

"I will NEVER marry that petty, self-absorbed, pathetic so-called elite warrior that you can't seem to grasp is beneath BOTH me and my darling Danny! Even if my adorable Phantom wasn't part of the equation, I'd die before I'd wed that Blockhead! The only thing "super" about Brutis is the size of his fragile ego and his refusal to accept that he was easily bested by a much better warrior twice in a row! He's not even fit to serve as a court jester and entertain mine and Danny's wedding!..."Mandie said, making her father even more agitated right now.

"Mandie!..."Maurus yelled.

"I am serious! Brutis is so stupid that he still hasn't let go of his grudge against Danny for beating him in a laughably easy way, even though the reason he is STILL alive is because of my darling's mercy. Not to mention, he is still too stupid to leave me alone and the only reason I haven't chopped his head off yet is because you and mother won't let me!..."Mandie said, expressing her distaste and hatred for that obnoxious warrior.

"When are you both going to accept that Danny is the only one I want?..."Mandie asked, while her father seemed ready to snap.

There is no way a creature like that has any place in the future of the Boudacian empire!..."Maurus demanded.

His daughter merely scoffed and sarcastically smiled at her father's awful request.

"That's rich... seeing as you're not a Boudacian either!..." Mandie pointed out, not realizing that she struck a big nerve right now.

Maurus snarled at her like a rabid canine, enough to startle her.

He never shows her that face, a face he reserves for those he wishes to do harm to. Recalling this is his daughter, he pulled back and exhaled sharply from his nose.

"I'm going to let that go because you're my daughter... now... make the right choice. Otherwise, I will be forced to have that planet invaded just to be rid of that pest!..."He declared.

"You can't do that!..."Mandie yelled, knowing that the outcome of that will not be what King expects it to be at all.

"I am the king of Boudacia and conqueror of hundreds of planets from our old Universe! This one will be no different, you will see! I will do whatever it takes to continue OUR survival! You may have given your word... but I didn't!..."He said, while his daughter got more upset.

"But father!..."Mandie tried.

The warrior king cut her off, and refused to listen.

"I have spoken! As your king and your father!..."King Maurus yelled, fully intending to do his duty as a warlord.

As her stubborn father left, Mandie glared at him.

"There is no way I am letting this happen! I have to warn Danny!..."She thought, needing to get in touch with him as soon as she can.

However, there was a problem. Now her father knows about their relationship and her passionate feelings for the half ghost hero. The King will no doubt keep her from Earth.

She couldn't risk transmitting a message with her phone, since he'd be watching her actions more intently. It was too risky that her father or their people would tap her signals, now that they know about her connection to Danny.

So, she had to do this in a more discreet way.

"There's one idea I have in mind..."She thought as she made her plans to sneak away and warn her beloved.

A risky idea, but the only one she has.

"I just hope that my stealth skills can bypass the drones..."She thought, determined to warn her love.

Later

The princess of Boudacia was sneaking out of her own royal bed chambers, keeping as quiet as possible.

"So far, so good. I already sent a message to Danny without those droids noticing. Just gotta get a ship..."She said, tip toeing.

She knows that her father will likely have guards surrounding her usual ship, so she can't use that one.

Thankfully, she had a backup plan for times like this.

"Good thing I hid that escape pod hidden in the garden and hot-wire it into taking me to Earth if needed..."Mandie thought as she lurked through the shadows.

She was careful to get across without triggering any alarms or get spotted by any guards on patrol. She arrived to the garden, trying her best to blend into the foliage that surround the gardens near the palace.

However, as she stealthily traversed her way through the palace's garden without even drawing any notice from the soldiers, someone spotted her. They immediately catch her attention before the princess could make another move.

"And just where do you think you're going, young lady?..."Was heard, startling the princess.

Mandie straightened herself before turning her head, seeing her mother behind her.

"M-Mother?! How did you know I was here?!..."She asked, completely certain that nobody noticed her presence.

"I've been watching you..."Queen Milee said simply.

"You have?..."Mandie asked, looking nervous now.

Her father may be a blood-thirsty warlord, but her mother can be pretty terrifying once she got mad. Much more than her father gets, that's for sure.

Her mother nodded, a stern expression on her face.

"Yes. After all, I can't risk having my daughter doing something she shouldn't be doing..."The queen stated.

Mandie flinched, but stood strong as she wasn't going back down to anyone... even if that someone is her own mother.

"Mother, Danny is chosen groom and I just HAVE to see him again. I have proof he is absolutely perfect for me..."The princess insisted.

"How so?..."The queen asked, curious as to what her daughter would say next.

The Princess of Boudacia took in a deep breath, as she was about to tell her mother the two words that provided all the evidence she needs.

"Security camera..."Mandie said as she pulled out a handheld remote that was linked to her ship's super computer.

"You have a security camera in your ship, and you have it linked here?..."Milee asked.

The princess of Boudacia nodded.

"Of course, it's to make sure there's no stowaway on board..." She explained as she went to her ship's super computer.

"Cool. Is that the word? Cool?..." Milee asked, while her daughter sighed.

"It'll be cooler once I show you what your grandchildren will inherit..."Mandie said, as she activated the device and linked to her ships computer functions.

"Computer... show us footage of the first time Danny used the controls of my ship..." Mandie ordered.

"UNDERSTOOD..."A robotic voice said, as the computer showed a realistic holographic projection of the event.

It then cut to footage of them speeding fast as Mandie screamed in horror, tears coming out of her eyes due mostly to the speed, but also because she genuinely feared for her life.

Seeing the look of amusement her mother had, Mandie felt a flush of embarrassment.

"No no... past this part! Past this part! In fact... never play this again!..." She shouted, before putting her hands clasped on her face to hide her embarrassment.

Queen Milee, however, couldn't resist a chance to tease her child a bit.

"Let's hope your little boy toy is as savage a fighter, as he is a pilot.."She teased.

Mandie sent her an embarrassed glare, before she got down to business.

"I already showed you how Danny defeated me and Brutis. But that's not even half of what he's truly capable of..."Mandie said, as she showed videos of Danny's ghostly battles, which she took the liberty to record.

She showed has fierce Danny's battles were with the likes of Skulker and Vlad Plasmius, as well as a few others who were foolish enough to interrupt their glorious dates together.

The queen of Boudacia saw how the halfa thought, and had an impressed smile on her face.

"Well, I see that his fight with you and Brutis weren't just flukes..."Milee admitted, as she watched the video.

Mandie smiled.

"Of course. Danny is as fierce warrior among warriors, my phantom knight in spandex armor..."She said, pleased.

However, the computer heard that and mistook it as a request.

"Showing video of file: Cuddle Time with Danny..."Was heard.

Mandie flinched as she heard that.

"Wait, what?!..."She exclaimed.

She was about to command it to stop but it was too late. The video then showed footage of the time she and Danny made out on her ship, after he nearly flew them to an early grave.

"Oh, Darling!~..."Mandie's recorded voice was heard, along with kissing sounds and heavy breathing.

Mandie gasped and blushed deeply, while her mother raised a brow and saw the two teens make out like the hormone-addled adolescents that they are.

The queen of Boudacia sent her mortified daughter a curious look.

"Hmm...I thought you said that you haven't mated yet..."Milee said, as she saw how close they were getting with each other.

Especially when their faces were close, and Danny was kissing on Mandie's neck in the footage.

A red faced and humiliated Mandie then got in her view as her private moment was exposed in front of her mother.

"COMPUTER DEACTIVATE RECORDING! I command you to deactivate that video Right Now!..."She shouted as she turned off the device to stop showing the rather intimate moment with her and her beloved.

However, the damage was done and Mandie faced her smirking mother. Queen Milee couldn't resist the opportunity to playfully rib her stubborn daughter even more now.

"I do certainly hoped you two were careful. After all, you know that an illegitimate heir is not something we approve of..."Milee said, as she waved her finger in a playful-scolding manner.

Her daughter's face resembled a steamed Earth tomato, and the young princess tried to salvage some of her dignity right now.

"We didn't mate! We didn't go any further than kissing, I swear!..."Mandie insisted, still red faced.

Her mother just giggled.

"No worries, my little monster. I know when you are lying and I can tell that you are telling the truth..."She said, having a very good idea of what kind of relationship her daughter and the young superhero.

She knew her daughter wasn't foolish enough to make such a careless choice, but it was clear that she and her future groom were getting along REALLY well.

She did, however, gave this some extra thought as the Queen was making her final decision on this subject.

"Hmm... you two are quite close. Perhaps he is ideal? At the very least, he is strong and you do seem to enjoy each other's company. I guess it could be worse..."The queen said, while her daughter looked relieved.

"Yes!..." Mandie said.

"WHAT?!..." Maurus shouted as he marched towards them, apparently having eavesdropped on them.

"Dear..."Milee said.

"Father? How are you- wait... why is it so easy for people to just sneak up on me all of the sudden?!..." Mandie questioned angrily.

"Since you lost your edge! This... Phantom thing... has done something to you! He violated who you are!..." Maurus yelled in an accusing manner.

"I-I'm not pregnant! I already told you that we haven't mated!..." Mandie declared, looking humiliated and misunderstanding what he meant.

"I meant your warrior prowess! He's made you soft! Keeping your word to not invade? That's something your great grandparents did before your grandfather took the throne by force and turned Boudacia into the most powerful empire in our old universe!..." Maurus said.

"W-Well... maybe I like this new me! Maybe..."Mandie paused.

"Maybe?..."Her father repeated, with a suspicious glare.

"Maybe I don't WANT to conquer or destroy anymore!..." Mandie declared.

Maurus dropped his royal scepter in shock.

"W-What?!..."He yelled, louder than ever.

Milee merely covered her ears with a flat expression while her husband and daughter kept arguing.

"WHAT IN THE GALAXY HAVE YOU JUST SAY?! WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?!..."The king snarled, but Mandie refused to back down.

"I... I meant what I said... Danny has shown me so many wonderful things, and I've learned so much about the Earth and experienced things I never thought possible..."The princess said in a serious voice, as she recalled everything she had learned since she started courting Danny.

"The earth is actually a nice place, and the humans aren't so bad once you get to know them. I don't want to take over that world anymore...I found that I enjoy peaceful walks and talks...and delicious sugary foods more than just ripping and tearing things apart! And there is still so many other things that I haven't got a chance to try yet. Danny promised to take me to an Earth water park and one of his worlds beached when it's the summer season. And he also planned on taking me to see his favorite band, Dumpty Humpty to listen to their music in person one day. I have heard their music and I do look forward to seeing it live in the future..."Mandie said, recalling one of their plans for later on.

"Water parks?! Beaches?! Earth musicians?! Who cares about such insignificant things?!..."Maurus yelled.

"I do! And they are not insignificant! The Earth has a lot of good things to offer and I really do like their culture. Enough that I really am considering making a vacation home there after me and Danny get married..."Mandie said, crossing her arms while her father looked at her like she was a mad-woman.

"I am serious! What good would conquest and destruction be if there was nothing left?! That can't be it! Danny showed me that there is much more than that!..."She said, while her father looked ready to kill someone right now.

"Are you saying you'd not only take this freak and spawn his offspring, but also rule Boudacia to abandon what we've been for generations?! All because you've developed a sentimental attachment to that freak and his world?!..." Maurus said.

"W-Well... yes! And Danny is NOT a freak! He's the best guy in both universes! EVER!..." Mandie declared.

Maurus stared slack jawed, before darting his eyes to his wife.

"Milee?! Why are you not helping me convince your daughter she's lost her mind?!..."He shouted.

To his dismay, his wife seemed to be considering their daughter's words.

"Well... she IS next in line for the throne... I'm too old for another child at this point... and this boy has already claimed her heart. I'd say... they're practically engaged now, and she does like him more than Brutis. As such... I'm afraid I'll have to oppose your decision to invade the planet..." Milee insisted.

"I rather not get off on the wrong foot with our future son-in-law if we can help it..."She added.

"WHAT?!..."Her husband yelled, while Mandie smiled in relief and hugged her mother.

"Thank you, Mother!..."She said, holding her tight.

"Of course, my little monster..."Milee said, hugging her back.

Her husband, on the other hand, was flabbergasted and felt that his entire world had turned on its head. He did his best not to lose his temper with his wife, but he still tried to convince her.

"B-B-B-B-B-But... Milee?!..."Maurus stammered.

His wife cut him off and stared him down with a look that he was all too well familiar with.

"Don't forget... you might be king, but I am the rightful heir of our past king. You are the head of this world, but I am the neck. The neck moves the head in any direction she wants. Remember that, Dear..."Milee said with a smug look.

Maurus, feeling humiliated, stormed out. He was grumbling rather course words in his native language, but his daughter didn't notice.

She was too busy sending grateful looks to her mother.

"Thank you, Mother...for being on our side..." Mandie said again as she hugged her again.

"Of course..." Milee said.

"Besides... perhaps I can convince Mandie to resume conquest in a different way? Perhaps, I may need to set up for a meeting with the dear boy sooner rather than later. I just hope he lives up to Mandie's praise...but I doubt that he could be any worse than Brutis..." Milee thought, as she bid her daughter to go.

The queen of Boudacian then decided to make a few arrangements of her own.

Unaware that someone else had already made their own arrangements that were going completely against hers.

With Mandie

"At least Mother is being reasonable. It's too bad that I can't say the exact same about my Father. But at least she's on my side..."She said, relieved.

However, Mandie heard the sound of breaking, crashing, snarls and she knew precisely who that could be making such a ruckus.

"He really is a sore loser..."She thought, shaking her head and felt a migraine form.

It reminded her that time when her parents played 12th dimensional chess and her mother had dominated the game with a dozen victories in a row. Which did cause her father to lose his temper and go on a rampage and break their old game room.

It was really obnoxious to deal with, so she chose not to now.

"Still...even if Mother approves, Father is still a problem. I should give Danny a heads up...just in case..."The princess thought, still intending to sneak away as soon as she possibly can.

Mandie was busy preparing her ship to get back to Earth, unaware that right now, someone else was up to their own schemes.

Outside

Brutis was walking through the old catacombs of the Empire's ancient republic ruins in search of someone in particular.

He had finally found the person he'd been looking for. Dieana was waiting for him, as she had been instructed.

"Did you send the message?..."Brutis asked.

Dieana nodded, having just finished her secret task asked of her by her beloved.

"Yes, my love. That Earth freak should be receiving it by now. Best get ready for your meeting with him..."Dieana said, hoping that her beloved is pleased with her act of loyalty to him.

Brutis smiled.

"Well done, Dieana. You've helped me take the first step into truly fixing this broken empire..."He said, as he had many plans right now.

Dieana swooned and wrapped her arms around him, sending him loving eyes.

"Anything for the future king..."She said, sending lovesick looks at him.

Brutis returned her loyalty with what she desired most as the two were now locked in a passionate kiss. One Dieana enjoyed, though the look Brutis has as her eyes were closed indicated he wasn't putting his heart into it.

She didn't notice, as she continued to kiss her beloved. Once done, she sent him adoring looks while Brutis sent her a smirk.

The two Boudacian soon left the ancient ruins, in order to make certain that their plans were ready and set.

They were fully confident that this scheme will succeed without fail. All that was really left for them to do is wait until the stage was ready for them.

Until then, they had a meeting to prepare for.

Meanwhile

On Earth

Danny was in his bedroom, still trying to figure out the mess that he somehow found himself in.

Two girls were in love with him, if you could believe that.

The ghost boy was currently coming to terms with finding out the truth of his gothic best friend's feelings for him. A discovery that he didn't exactly see coming.

Danny groaned and rolled his eyes as his head landed on his pillow.

"Sam... why didn't I see it before? Heck, the whole stupid world saw it, why didn't I?!..." He asked himself.

Danny huffed as he facepalmed, realized why almost everyone on he knew keeps calling him clueless. Sam was one of the first two friends he ever had. They knew each other since before they even reached the age of romantic attraction, but it seems puberty has complicated that friendship more than he thought it did.

He cared about her...but he didn't see her as girlfriend material. Maybe in another life, if he never met Mandie and she told him about how she felt, things must be different.

Speaking of Mandie...well, she was an alien to his planet and universe.

Almost as if fate or something brought her specifically into his world, knowing they would have eventually crossed paths with each other.

She had been more of a villain to him at first. Yet, by saving Danielle, he decided she wasn't truly irredeemable. He gave her a chance, and by doing so, discovered that she was much more than some blood-thirsty wanna-be dictator who was out for universal conquest.

He learned that she was strong, honorable (in her own way), and can be sweet and loving if given the chance. He found himself becoming truly fond of her, and liking her for more than just her good looks.

She also had a lot of stuff she was dealing with, such as trying to regain her honor in her people's eyes and dealing with that space dork Brutis.

"That Dorkus creep better leave her alone, if he knows what's good for him. I swear, he's like an alien combination of Dash and Vlad..."He thought, in an oddly protective manner.

Sure, he knew that Mandie was more than capable of beating that creep up if he got too annoying, but he felt it was the principal of the manner.

Still, the thought of her punching that

However, his new relationship broke Sam's heart and has affected his friendship with her.

The ghost boy grumbled in irritation and dismay over the complicated mess he was somehow in. He took in a deep breath, and collected all of his thoughts as he came to a conclusion.

"If some world endangering threat happened before Mandie crash landed in my life, I'd might have had something with Sam. But... Mandie and I grew close before that could happen...and...I don't wanna lose what we have together now..." He admitted to himself, as he thought about his alien girlfriend.

He smiled at the thought of her, before slapping his forehead in irritation.

"Why couldn't Mandie just be cool cheerleader who does martial arts or another, more bubbly alien who is also a superhero? Those would've been so much less of a hassle, and maybe Sam would have reacted less hostile than she did..." He asked himself.

"Or maybe she would have, and it really doesn't matter who I ended up dating either way..."He grumbled, wishing this wasn't so complicated.

However, the ghost boy's thoughts were interrupted as he heard a crash outside.

"Huh?..."He said as he went to check what it was.

It was a Boudacian messenger drone, and he knew where it must have came from.

"Mandie..."He said as he turned ghost and flew down there.

Once there, the machine scanned him and activated.

"Danny Phantom, Princess Mandie requests to meet you at your secret location from your last date over a very important, confidential bit of information. It's a very important discussion that cannot be delayed or halted any further..."Was heard.

"What the heck is going on now?..."He asked, scratching his head.

He confused by the sudden arrival of a message drone being sent to he a bit earlier than the last time, but the device spoke up again.

"Due to security reasons, this message will self destruct in 5 seconds..."Was heard.

Danny, who saw this coming a mile away, became intangible as the drone blew up. He barely noticed or cared, since he knew that something was amiss.

"There was no flirty message, suggestions about having kids or asking details of when we'll both have free time for another date. Why do I get the feeling that something is very wrong here?..."He thought, knowing it must be important.

He got a bad feeling about this, but he trusted that whatever Mandie wants to talk about, it must be important.

Danny took to the skies, planning to go to the rendezvous point that Mandie's message instructed him to go to. He just hoped that it wasn't for anything too dangerous or life-threatening.

However, he had no way of knowing that he wasn't the only one who received a message from deep space today.

Meanwhile

Vlad Masters A.K.A Vlad Plasmius was in his secret lab, underneath the mayor's mansion.

As always, he pretended to be working on running the town, while in reality, he was plotting against his enemies and taking Maddie for himself.

"Now, let's see what's on the agenda today..."The villain said, maneuvering certain imaginary chess pieces for future plans.

Anything was better than dealing with those blowhards on the city council who always nagged or annoyed him in one way or the other, especially the deputy mayor who always seemed to have some annoying task for him to do.

It was infuriating!

Even his vultures weren't weren't even here to do his bidding, something about taking a week off to fly south for the winter. Also, Skulker wasn't available since he was currently in the process of repairing his suit for the 1,000th time.

It angered the halfa at how useless his minions were being lately, but he decided that they weren't worth the effort of actually going after.

He preferred staying here in Amity Park, just in case an opportunity arises. Even so, it irritated him how unreliable his henchmen could be.

"Good help is hard to find these days. I should try and see if I can get some new chess pieces for my board..."The villain said, as he noticed that most of his pawns lacked what he was looking for.

It was then that his Maddie hologram appeared before him in her artificial appearance, blue jumpsuit and all.

"Vlad Darling? There's something on the rooftop..." Holo-Maddie said.

"I knew that exterminator didn't get rid of the wasps... that's what I get for saving money on something not worth the effort to blast..." Vlad muttered.

"It's not a wasp's nest, lamb chop. It's something... bigger..." She said, emphasizing that last word.

"Bigger?..." Vlad asked, getting curious now.

"Observe..."The villain ordered, wanting to see for himself.

The Maddie hologram turned on the giant screen to show its master what it found. The screen showed something metallic, resembling an eye.

"What is that?..." Vlad asked as he morphed and phased through the roof.

Once there, he saw what looked to be a white and turquoise orb-lie hovering device.

"What in the name of evil?!..."He asked out loud, as he checked over the device.

A projection appeared from the pupil of the eye-like machine. A holographic projection of a figure.

"Hello, Plad Vlasmius..." A robed figure said before taking another look at the screen.

"Wait... Vlad Plasmius... my mistake..."The figure said, irritating the halfa villain.

"And apparently, your last for getting my name wrong..." Vlad warned, his hands glowing red in warning.

"Also, just to make it clear... this is a recording. I'm not speaking to you live..." The figure said.

"Of course..." Vlad muttered, rolling his eyes.

"I have a proposition for you. If you wish to be rid of Danny Phantom forever... I can help you with that. I believe your planet has a saying even in this universe. The enemy of my enemy is my friend..."The figure said, offering a partnership.

Vlad raised an eyebrow.

"What kind of deal do you have in mind?..." He asked himself, intrigued now.

"Remember... I can't hear your responses. However, if you are curious about what I mean...it's simple..."The figure said, before continuing.

"This private message is an offer of two elites from different worlds to join forces. With our shared and respective strengths and intelligence working together, we can manage to force our two world s to do battle with each other and take down of common enemies in the process..."He said, which peaked the villains interest.

"Hmm..."Vlad let out, as the figure continued.

"So, if you wish to agree... meet me in the area you know as Deaf Valley by tomorrow. I- wait... what?..."The figure said, apparently talking to someone off screen.

"It's Death Valley, my love..." A feminine voice, one identical to Dieana said.

Vlad raised a brow while the robed figure just shook his head and sighed a bit in irritation.

"Oh... you'd think I'd have noticed that... Stupid primitive Earth language. Even Yugopotamian is much simpler..."The figure grumbled under it's breath.

"Okay, Death Valley by mid night tonight. I await your response..." The figure said before backing away.

He was clearly trying to remain mysterious and sinister, while trying to find the off switch and missing it. Totally defeating the effect he wanted to have.

Thankfully the female sounding figure did it for him. With that, the transmission ended.
