Billy and Mandy's Digital Chronicles Chapter 6

There was only an hour left from the six-hour train journey until they reach Boardoth, their first destination in their journey to find Billy. As Mandy watched the front window of the train, she tried to keep focus of anything of interest and of important, but her mind was pretty clouded.

From what she's been figuring out, Billy must somehow be in two different places. Back at the abandoned factory, Andromon recalled seeing Billy and hearing a train before he was taken over by that strange Digimon Chrysalimon, but Sperg said that when he saw Billy go into the factory, there was no train. Then when they arrived at Autumn Village, the rocks that blocked the track were there a few days ago, which meant that if Billy did go on a train, he must've left before the rocks blocked the tracks which would imply that Billy somehow arrived in the Digital World way before the others despite entering at the same time.

Mandy easily chalked up to Billy arriving much earlier, since the possibility of timelines being different between worlds, and Billy arriving half a second sooner might have given him a several day head-start. But the idea that he seems to be in two places at once seems likely, even if it hardly makes sense.

Mandy just sighs for what feels like the hundredth time since she got here, all she knows that's for certain is that the mummy that stole Pandora's Box must work for this company called Columbus Incorporated, their only hint is that only Columbus Employees have trains and the mummy used one to get them to the Digital World, it's a stretch but it's their only lead for now, and hunting down any Columbus buildings is one of their two goals, the other of course, is finding Billy, Irwin and Junior. Though she could go without Irwin, Junior perhaps but his powers alongside his potential Digimon partner would be very beneficial. But Billy is her highest priority.

Meanwhile, in the first carriage, the rest of the gang were in the first carriage. Mindy and Aruraumon were looking over at the food boxes they got from the factory, including the eggs and bread they got from Autumn Village. All of it was on one of the tables.

"It's great that the food doesn't spoil but keeping them here just feels inconvenient." Said Mindy.

"Agreed." Said Aruraumon crossing her arms. "We could actually use a storage carriage, something to keep them safe."

"Yeah, if we can get a third carriage with a kitchen in it, we can store the food and even cook our own food."

"Um, can't we eat them as they are?"

"Well, we can. But eating raw eggs isn't good for us, plus food that's cooked taste so much better."

Gazimon did the same as he did yesterday, sitting on a table watching the scenery, again, his tail occasionally wagged slightly when seeing something that got his attention, As he did, Pud'n was practising with the shield he got from the blacksmith in Autumn Village, keeping his stance, pretending to react to oncoming projectiles and swinging the shield to where it would be, and even try to bash with the shield, like in one or two of those videogames he played in the past.

At the far back, we see Sperg and Agumon (Black) look at each other. Agumon had mostly recovered from the medicine testing, his eyes still darted in different directions from each other as a rainbow-coloured snot bubble was being formed in his right nostril.

"So… you're really ok now?" Sperg asked as he crossed his arms.

Agumon quickly shook his head violently, his eyes adjusted back to normal, and the snot bubble popped into a collection of tiny butterflies that soon disappeared into smoke. "Yeah… Yeah… I think so."

Sperg soon pointed to Pud'n as he held his shield in front of him. "Ok, try your Pepper Breath attack on that shield."

Agumon nods, he then took a deep breath and tried to shoot a fireball, but confetti flew out instead with the sound of a party tweeter coming out of his mouth instead. Everyone else looked over to Agumon as he coughed slightly, seeing the confetti float harmlessly to the ground.

"Guess the effect of whatever diabolical monstrosity you consumed is still in slight effect." Said Gazimon as he jumped down onto the floor and walked forward on his hind legs.

"Well at least if we come across a wedding or celebration, you're more than prepared." Said Mindy with an amused smug look to her. Aruraumon chuckled slightly.

"I just hope we don't have to get into any fights." Said Sperg.

Gazimon nods. "Agreed, we can't exactly deal with any threats with those party noises."

Agumon simply growls as he crosses his arms. "It was that stupid cat's fault! If she hadn't broken those vases and got us to work to pay that lady back, I wouldn't have gone through that torture! It's her fault I can't fire right now!"

Meanwhile, back at the front of the train, as Mandy watched intently, she took notice of a large blimp coming into view, it was high in the sky and rooves of houses were coming into view too.

"Finally, we're here."

BlackGatomon jumped onto the console to look, she had her usual smug look until she noticed the blimp and looked shocked. "Wait! Stop the train!"

"What? Why?" Mandy asked as she turned to BlackGatomon.

"I'll explain AFTER we stop! That thing's too dangerous!"

Mandy sighed in annoyance as she messed with the console's monitor to stop the train, and it came to a slow halt. Once it did, she noticed the town with the blimp above it, it was estimated to be fifteen miles away.

"Alright, talk cat!"

Before BlackGatomon could speak up, the door opened, and the others came in. "What's going on?" asked Pud'n.

"Good question." Mandy turned back to BlackGatomon. "Why did you make us stop!?"

BlackGatomon points to the blimp for the others to see. "See that blimp up there? That's not a real blimp, it's Blimpmon."

"Wait! That giant blimp is a Digimon too?" asked Sperg.

"Yeah, and most if not all Blimpmon are property of Columbus Incorporated."

Mandy tilted her head slightly. "That company that Mummy might be with?"

BlackGatomon nods. "Yeah. Listen, despite what the public might say and what I said. That company is pure evil."

"A gigantic evil company. Sounds just like home." Mandy said in a deadpan tone.

"If a Blimpmon is in Boardoth, then that can only mean a personal army from the company has come in, and to my guess, convert it into a gigantic metropolis just like all the other cities they've done."

Aruraumon looks concerned. "That's just awful! They don't have the right to destroy land and turn it into one of those concrete jungles!"

Mandy just shrugs. "And this affects us, because? Why can't we just drive past?"

BlackGatomon speaks up. "Because the second they see our train, they're gonna take it from us, and arrest us for 'stealing' it."

Sperg punches his fists together. "Not if we just charge through as fast as we can."

"That's what Blimpmon is for, aside from carrying their soldiers, it's armed with cannons, they see us, they're gonna fire at us."

Mindy looks at the town from the distance, then back to BlackGatomon. "Alright, so what the hell do we even do?"

BlackGatomon walks up to the edge of the window and stares intently, then turns back to them. "It's not gonna be fun, but we'll have to sneak into that town on foot, clear out the soldiers, and destroy Blimpmon, that way we can bring the train through without risk of being taken."

Mandy sighs angrily as she turned to look at the town from the window. She didn't have a reason to not believe BlackGatomon, and while it was possible that this Blimpmon was not part of Columbus Incorporated, it didn't feel like a risk worth taking, especially since if they lose their train, they've lost their only form of transportation in this gigantic unknown world, and they'll be at risk of exposure, and getting arrested did mean they'd be in a Columbus building, but most likely not the one they want and in a situation they'll likely not win in either, and finally, there wasn't a single branching track they passed so they can't simply go around either, and obviously, waiting for them to leave was out of the question, as they don't know how long they'll be there for, and time wasted is time Billy could be getting further away from them, and risk Pandora's Box being opened.

Mandy finally let out yet another sigh, this one more irritated sounding. "Guess we don't have a choice, we're gonna have to get rid of that Columbus Army before we can get past."

Mindy huffs. "And just HOW do we expect to do so!?"

"We'll just have to get there and find out. Let's go." Mandy made her way to the train door and opened it, she stepped out and began to walk towards the town, BlackGatomon jumped down and quickly followed. The others soon followed suit, naturally hesitant, especially Agumon, who glared at BlackGatomon.

Walking to Boardoth naturally took ages, they were fifteen miles away after all and had to walk the rest of the way, they took the occasional break, while Gazimon kept surveillance on everything, he was the most survival savvy, so it made sense for him to do so. Pud'n kept his shield on his arm and tried to keep surveillance too but wasn't as good as it. Agumon kept trying to use his Pepper Breath attack, but confetti and tweeter noises kept erupting instead of fire, though he was shushed a few times due to the noise it made, though Sperg kept telling Agumon to do so, to hopefully drain out all the confetti. Mindy and Aruraumon relaxed at every break opportunity, using Aruraumon's relaxation pollen, though sometimes the others got caught in the mist, or the wind blew the pollen away before they could really relax.

Mandy was the most tense and least patient, every time they took a break, she was the only one keeping an internal track of the time, and being the first one to bark the orders to start moving again, even if they were five or ten minutes early, it was unsurprising, she didn't want to have any more delays, given the current situations, but they also didn't have a choice but to have these delays.

As they got much closer, the tension began to increase, as they would likely be spotted by anyone, especially anyone on surveillance. But luckily, there was a large forest that was right next to the town, and following Gazimon, they made it into the inside of the forest without detection, and began to walk while crouching, to keep themselves low to the ground and harder to spot, again, following Gazimon to lower their chances of being detected.

Finally. They reached the town of Boardoth, specifically behind a massive metal fence that's between them and a local garden, the gang were behind a bush looking in. And there they saw several small black dinosaur-like creatures in military outfits and holding rifles, and they appeared to be forcing both humans and other Digimon to be escorted somewhere against their will, all in one direction, towards the right, past a few buildings.

Mandy takes her Digivice out and does a long-distance scan over one of the military Digimon.

- Commandramon, Rookie Level, Cyborg Type, Virus Attribute. -

- The surface of Commandramon's skin has been modified with a special texture that detects its surrounding colours in real-time and is capable of displaying a variety of camouflage patterns. As a result, it is said that most of Commandramon's 'targets' do not even notice Commandramon's presence before being silenced. Commandramon may undergo the "Selection-D", a special selection test that screens through 100 Commandramon, and it is said that the finalist can Digivolve to Sealsdramon while many of the rest Digivolve to Hi-Commandramon. It's Special Attack is M16 Assassin which fires from its assault rifle. And DCD Bomb, which throws a small bomb at its foe. -

"Commandramon are the foot soldiers of the D-Brigade, Columbus Incorporated owns the entire Brigade." Said BlackGatomon.

"There looks to be a hundred of them, possibly more." Said Aruraumon. "So, what do we do?"

"We need to get in and get a better view of the situation." Said Mandy. She then turns to BlackGatomon. "Cat. Sneak in and scout ahead."

"Is BlackGatomon really a hard name to say?" she asked tilting her head with her usual smug look.

"Just shut up and scout ahead!"

"Whatever, human." BlackGatomon squeezed in between the bars of the metal fence and entered the garden, she then began to strut ahead and disappeared into more bushes.

After a few seconds, Gazimon turned to them. "I better scout ahead too."

Pud'n nods. "Alright. But be careful." Gazimon nods as he squeezes between the bars too and disappeared into the bushes on the other side.

Mandy then speaks up. "Alright, let's move back into hiding and wait for them." The others nod as they snuck further back to go into hiding again.

Twenty minutes had passed, and the gang sat quietly in a circle behind two larger trees with a massive floral bush in between them, everyone tried to keep as quiet as they could, only whispering if needed to speak, while keeping a very high alert on any noise. Mandy was the one who kept the quietest, with her arms and legs crossed, though she was getting more and more frustrated with the waiting.

She suddenly felt something soft and furry brush itself against her crossed arm, causing her to jump and dart her whole body to her right, only to see BlackGatomon rubbing her head on her arm like an affectionate cat.

"Don't do that!" Mandy scolded, trying to be as quiet as she could while trying to yell.

Everyone noticed this and Gazimon approaching shortly after. "Good job keeping hidden. We got a report."

"So, what's up?" asked Sperg.

"There's at least a hundred and fifty Commandramon." Said BlackGatomon scratching her ear with her hind leg. "And they're being led by a human adult, and a Sealsdramon."

"We heard that name in Mandy's Digivice." Said Pud'n. "I'm guessing he's a Champion level?"

Gazimon nods. "Yeah, they've got the whole town in lockdown. Everyone's been evicted from their houses and shoved in cages, humans in one, Digimon in another. And the humans had their Digivices taken away to prevent them from Digivolving their partners."

"Makes sense. That Digivolution thing is a real game changer." Said Mindy, she then looked over to Aruraumon who both smirked.

"There's an elevator that leads straight to Blimpmon, it's guarded but not as heavily guarded as the cages and streets." Said BlackGatomon. "Blimpmon's a Champion Level but destroying it's controls will cause it to crash and be destroyed. Even a Rookie can do that."

"I like that idea!" said Sperg.

"Me too! And we should raid that Blimpmon for all of its food too." Said Agumon.

"And finally." Gazimon then looks back towards the village. "I overheard them interrogating the village elder, they've got him locked up in their own house. Apparently that elder is an Ultimate Level too, capable of wiping them all out or something."

Mandy nods, she then crossed her arms for a moment to think, she then turned to everyone. "Alright, here's the plan. We're gonna split up-"

"And search for clues?" asked Sperg. Mandy glared at him who immediately tucked his neck into his shoulders. "Sorry, force of habit."

Mandy continues. "We have three targets. The Elder, the Prisoners and the Blimpmon. And there's eight of us in teams of two." She turns to Pud'n and Gazimon. "You're one of the bests at stealth, so you're gonna sneak onto that Blimpmon and crash it."

Gazimon nods. "I know the way, and my claws should be sharp enough to break metal."

"And I can use my shield to cover Gazimon." Said Pud'n as he held it up."

Gazimon turns to Pud'n. "Prioritise your own safety, however. I can at least dodge attacks."

Mandy turns to Sperg and Agumon. "Sperg, your partner still can't breathe fire, right?"

Agumon shakes his head. "Nope." Then glares at BlackGatomon. "Because of a certain someone!"

"Then you two are gonna go find where the Digivices are being kept, grab 'em and bring them to the captive humans. But do it quietly." Mandy then turns to Mindy and Aruraumon. "And that's where you two come in."

"What?" asked Mindy.

"Sperg and Agumon can't fight properly, so you're gonna cause a distraction to keep those soldiers away from the hostages and Digivices. Use your vines, pollen, or your annoying voice, anything that can cause a disturbance."

Aruraumon nods. "I suppose it's all we can do."

Mindy huffs. "You seriously think Aruraumon has an annoying voice!? You must be really stupid!"

"That was directed at you." Mandy then ignored Mindy's aggravated glare as she turned to BlackGatomon. "And we're gonna go find where the Elder is. If he is capable of wiping out this entire army, then we're gonna let him out."

BlackGatomon nods. "I think I know where he is."

Mandy looks at the others. "Not that I care, but any objections?" Everyone says no. "Alright, let's get rid of these soldiers."

The gang soon make their way to the metal fence again, they look to see no one is in sight, so Aruraumon shoots her vines to the top of the metal fence and makes a makeshift ladder, one by one the gang climbed up the vines and made it over the fence, then Aruraumon pulled herself up and over which Mindy caught her before landing. The gang then split up into their teams of two and split up.

The town itself looked like it came from the 80s, with the style of housing and paths, there were no roads, just large stone paths, nearly every house had a small tree in a stone square pot on each corner, and there were several gardens, ponds, benches, streetlamps, and large trees. There were also several playparks for children, and all the stone and wood had a light colour to them that was easy on the eyes and complimented the morning sky. Everything about this would be very peaceful, if it wasn't for the army of Commandramon patrolling the streets, all of them with their rifles out, seemingly looking for anyone that they could arrest.

Pud'n and Gazimon kept as low as possible, Gazimon kept on all fours while Pud'n crouch walked, both of them kept to the alleyways, Pud'n followed Gazimon in everything, moving, stopping, and looking where he looks. They watched any shadows that crept into the alleyways, and only moved when they knew they were in the clear.

Soon however, they noticed a Commandramon turning a corner and was about to look directly at them in the alleyway, the two looked and noticed a doorway that was slightly ajar that was at the top of a set of wooden stairs, the two immediately ran up the stairs and went through the door.

But the Commandramon noticed them go inside and jumped a bit. "HEY!" He immediately ran towards the house and shoved the door open with the butt of his rifle and scoured around. "I know you're in here!"

The house itself was mostly wooden, had a table and chairs, a grandfather clock and a series of drawers and a glass cabinet, there was also a sink and an oven, implying this was a kitchen of sorts. The Commandramon looked around with his rifle ready, on high alert as he stepped closer into the middle of the room.

Little did he realise, was that Pud'n and Gazimon were behind the door that was opened up, the two slipped around carefully and went back outside and closed the door. But the sound of it closing alerted the Commandramon as he shot around to the door, he quickly ran to it and opened it, and ran down the stairs, he looked around the three alleyways looking for them, but found no one, so he immediately ran to the right-side alleyway and out of sight.

All without realising that Pud'n and Gazimon were under the stairs, the two watched Commandramon run off, and once he was gone, the two nod to each other, climb out and continue their way to the Blimpmon.

Meanwhile, Mindy and Aruraumon were on the rooftop of a house, they kept their bodies low, so they'd have less chance to be seen, the two looked over the rooftop to see the Commandramon flooding the streets, all of them seemingly in high alert.

"Right. Distraction…" Mindy mumbled. She looked around. "How do we?"

Aruraumon points forward. "Look." She's pointing to a ladder that's leaning against another building, it was next to a half-painted sign for a pub, and there was a paint bucket hanging on the top of the ladder rung.

Mindy nods and winks at her. "Go for it!"

Aruraumon extends her claws into vines, and they slowly stretched to both the ladder and the paint bucket, one set grabs the ladder and the other the paint bucket. Aruraumon drags the paint bucket towards them, while dragging the ladder a few feet away from the pub wall and let's go of it.

The ladder soon dropped by itself and made a loud clack on the ground, because of the silence, it sounded much louder than normal, and a large number of Commandramon were alerted to the loud sound and immediately ran towards the source. Mindy and Aruraumon then quickly made their way from one roof to another using Aruraumon's vines as a grappling hook while Mindy clung onto her. They managed to keep out of sight since the Commandramon were focused on the ladder, upon seeing it, they immediately darted around with their rifles.

Mindy and Aruraumon made it to five rooves away from where the Commandramon were, and Mindy took the paint bucket from Aruraumon and threw it as hard as she could, making the paint fly everywhere and the bucket landing hard with a metal clang on another roof and landing on some trash cans making them topple over. The same Commandramon were alerted again alongside more Commandramon who immediately ran to the source. Mindy and Aruraumon peered over seeing them look around frantically, then they got ready to jump to a few more building rooves to cause more distractions.

Little did either of them realise, one of the Commandramon was looking at the paint splatter that reached the top of the building and how it was sprayed on the wall. "Wait… that's not from being thrown upwards." The one Commandramon looked over to where the paint bucket must've been thrown, and he notices Mindy and Aruraumon shooting to another building using Aruraumon's vines.

"THERE! ON THE ROOVES!"

"CRAP!" Mindy screamed as she and Aruraumon heard the Commandramon, and they continued to jump rooves as the army of Commandramon suddenly gave chase and began firing their rifles.

"We've found another human and Digimon jumping the rooves, everyone not guarding a place of interest, immediately made way to the centre of town and search the rooftops. Apprehend them before they can Digivolve!" said a Commandramon's voice in an intercom. There were five Commandramon who listened in on this, all nodded and ran towards the centre of town.

Once they were out of sight, Mandy crept out of a corner in an alleyway seeing them disappear. She let out a quiet sigh, feeling relieved she wasn't caught. BlackGatomon crept out as well with her smug look, she then walked around the corner to the opposite side of where the Commandramon left, Mandy soon followed but kept high alert.

As they walked, Mandy turned to look behind her, knowing the Commandramon are chasing Mindy. She was glad Mindy was doing her job as intended, but she also hoped that they would capture or kill her right before they can clear them out, then she would get the mission done and lose that massive headache.

They turned a corner and noticed an opening in the alleyway that leads to a large round white house, and this house had a garden with a gigantic tree on the roof. The house looked far different from every other house, so it was a guess it was the Elder's house. She continued to walk to it as she kept alert, as she looked ahead again, she noticed that BlackGatomon was gone.

"Where'd you go?" she whispered.

The sound of a loud crack and the grunting of an unfamiliar voice quickly followed Mandy's question, as around the corner, a Commandramon was knocked to the ground and fell unconscious, his rifle fell next to him, and a bag fell just after. BlackGatomon was seen walking back to her from the corner, licking her front paw as she walked back smugly.

Mandy said nothing as she walked past her and approached the unconscious Commandramon and picked up his rifle, Mandy wasn't an expert on guns, but she felt it could come in handy, she held it how she felt was accurate, to see how it felt, and nodded.

"Don't bother." Said BlackGatomon as she walked back to her. "The rifles are programmed to only work for Commandramon."

Mandy just huffs as she threw the gun over her shoulder, then she inspected the Commandramon to see if there was anything to loot, she noticed a walkie talkie and immediately placed it in her hip bag, not only as a means of listening in, but to prevent the unconscious Commandramon from reporting should he wake up in time. She searched around but found nothing of note, but she noticed the bag the Commandramon had next to him and picked it up to rummage through. But all there was, were seven pieces of yellowish paper. Mandy took the papers out and looked at them, her eyes widened, and her blood went cold upon seeing the first paper on the front.

It was a sketch of herself, this sketch was incredibly detailed to the point of being like a photograph, above it was a word in huge letters saying 'WANTED.'

Mandy read the whole thing out loud but quiet enough to not be overheard. "Wanted… Mandy… leader of the organised criminal gang known as Death Parade… ten million bits reward for turning into Columbus alive… what?"

BlackGatomon even looked surprised as she looked at the poster. "But… you've only been here for three days… and we haven't even interacted with them until now, and even then…"

"Criminal gang? Death Parade? Why the hell would Columbus put a price on my head? Even making up a gang name?"

Mandy moved the paper to the back to see another wanted poster, showing Mindy's face, she then began to read each one.

"Mindy… navigator of the organised criminal gang known as Death Parade… seven million bits."

"Irwin… intelligence of the organised crime… eight million bits."

"Pud'n… scout… nine million bits."

Junior… assassin… fifteen million bits."

Sperg… muscle… eight million bits."

Mandy moved to the last one, revealing Billy's face, and her face turned pale upon reading it.

"Billy… second-in command of the organised criminal gang known as Death Parade… and? … guilty of extreme levels terrorism for the past two years!? Two hundred million bits!? What the hell!?"

"What kind of lies are they even spouting!?" asked BlackGatomon, looking more shocked. "We didn't even do a thing to them, and you were only here for three days!"

Mandy felt very disturbed by this, BlackGatomon was right, they arrived in the Digital World three days ago, all they did was climb Login Mountain to save Mindy and reason with Aquilamon, enter an abandoned factory and freed an Andromon from being possessed and got a train as a reward, then did some community service in Autumn Village. And none of them had any affiliation with Columbus besides the train, and even then, that wouldn't be enough for a wanted poster so soon with such a high price. The only thing she could think of was the Mummy man they met on the train that could be a part of Columbus, but even then, a wanted poster like this felt extreme.

She took the posters, placed them back into the bag and hung it over her shoulder. "This is way more serious than I expected. Come on."

Mandy made her way to what she presumed is the Elder's house, she looked around to see no Commandramon about, but she knew better than to go through the front door, just in case there were guards inside the building, so she went around to the side where she saw a set of stairs leading to the second floor and towards a large garden in the back, she climbed those stairs and noticed a slightly open round window, this window was large enough for her to crawl through, but instead of climbing through, she peered through to see what's inside.

Inside the room was a wooden floorboards and walls, a long bench and several small flowerpots on the walls, there were almost no doors at all, just open parts of the walls for anyone to walk in. To her surprise, there were three individuals, two of them facing one.

The one was a ten-foot tree-shaped Digimon, having a grimace face, a wooden moustache, dark looking eyes, and multiple wooden crooked hands, one of his right hands held a cane, but every hand was shackled together and the roots that served as feet were all shackled too, tied to iron balls. This tree-Digimon also looked tired, with the way he gently swayed forward and back, as if he was trying to keep his balance.

One of the two facing the tree was a human man, perhaps in his early to mid-forties, standing at approximately six-foot tall, had the physique of an American football player, he had a handlebar moustache, a square jaw and a pair of black sunglasses, he had little to no hair, just a bit of fuzz on the top like it was shaved but either slowly growing back, or wasn't shaved down to the skin. He wore a black trench coat with a blood red undershirt, he had two belts going over his shoulders inside the trench coat and those belts had several bullets strapped to them. He had denim trousers, and black shoes with buckles on them. He also had a green Digivice strapped to his right arm, he stood there with a very straight posture and his arms crossed.

The other facing the tree was a cyborg-reptile-like Digimon, he wore full black body armour, had a blue and red visor for eyes, two red blades on his shoulders and a long metal tail. He too stood there with the posture of a soldier, being very straight and upright, with his arms stiffly to the side.

Mandy took out her Digivice and began to scan the tree Digimon.

- Cherrymon, Ultimate Level, Vegetation Type, Virus Attribute. -

- The fog it generates from its body displays illusions, tempting the opponent into the forest depths, where it uses its branches like tentacles and ivy to capture the opponent for its own nutrition. It is a terrifying Digimon who tempts Digimon who have gone astray in the dark deep forest to go further and deeper into the woods, so that they will never break out of that forest. It's Special Attack is Cherry Blast which launches cherry bombs at the opponent. -

She then moved it to the cyborg Digimon.

- Sealsdramon, Champion Level, Cyborg Type, Virus Attribute. -

- It is said that only the one that passes the "Selection-D", a special selection test that screens through 100 Commandramon, can Digivolve to Sealsdramon. It is able to move over short distances at speeds that are impossible to perceive with the eyes, and without equipping things like camouflage features or a rifle, it has the ability to bring down its "Target" with just its taijutsu. Its primary function is assassination. It's Special Attack is Death Behind which attacks with a single blow from a knife sharpened to its limit. -

Mandy placed her Digivice back onto her belt and turned to BlackGatomon. "Who's the human?" she whispered.

"His name is Vendel Roman." Whispered BlackGatomon. "Head of Columbus Military organisation, and one of the ten Columbus Masterminds."

Mandy kept quiet and listened in.

Vendel spoke up in a somewhat thick Hungarian accent. "So Elder, are you willing to finally confess your city's crimes?"

Cherrymon huffed. "I… nor has anyone in my city have done anything wrong that would upset Columbus." He spoke in a raspy elderly voice. "I've told you this many times now."

Vendel merely chuckled. "Deny all you want, but we have evidence that you've been associating yourself with the Death Parade. They pose a threat to not only Columbus, but to the entire Digital World. You've been keeping them safe and delivering information to them to make their next attacks!"

Cherrymon glared back. "And where is your evidence that we are guilty of such crimes?"

"You are not qualified to have access to such vital information."

"So, your evidence is false then?"

Vendel lost his smirk as he uncrossed his arms.

Cherrymon spoke up strongly. "If you do not wish to provide proof of the allegations, then it means that you have no proof, you're merely using your authority as a shield to defend yourself from bullying the townspeople. So why have you come to my town!?"

Vendel merely huffed as he turned around, showing his back. "Say what you will, but you are declared guilty by Columbus, the punishment is the convergence of your city into ours, and associates with Death Parade… will be executed!"

Cherrymon leaned back in shock. "You're a monster! They're innocent civilians! They've done nothing wrong!"

"Not according to our sources!" Vendel turned to Sealsdramon. "Now then, I must return to Neo File City. Sealsdramon, ensure the prisoners are kept where they are until the converters arrive. Return to Blimpmon and begin the communications."

Sealsdramon salutes. "Yes sir!" And immediately makes his way to the door and opens it, leaves it open for Vendel to walk through first, then he left shortly after.

Mandy watched and heard the whole thing, she then turned to Cherrymon who looked down, sighing heavily. Mandy let out a quiet sigh herself and gently pushed the window open more, making a quiet squeak startling Cherrymon who looked over, seeing Mandy open it all the way and climbed into the room with BlackGatomon following.

"Who are you?" asked Cherrymon in a surprised tone.

"Mandy… the… well, according to Columbus, the leader of Death Parade."

Cherrymon leaned back in shock. "Y-You're actually here!?"

"Yeah but get this. We JUST arrived; those Commandramon Cronies were here before we arrived. And we never even did one crime, we literally entered this world three days ago, we didn't even call ourselves that."

"What!?" Cherrymon leaned forward. "If what you're saying is true… why would they even put you on a wanted list like that?"

Mandy shrugs. "Beats me, we just found out their bogus stories five minutes ago. We just wanted to pass by with our train, but my partner here said they'll stop us before we can get past and steal our only form of transportation."

BlackGatomon walked up to Cherrymon and examined the shackles. "Brace yourself." She then proceeded to slash at the shackles on Cherrymon's hands and feet.

Cherrymon gently rubbed his wrists before looking back at them. "Thank you… but… did you come here just to pass by?"

Mandy nods. "Yeah, we had no interest in dealing with anything Columbus related, in fact, we just found out they were crooked recently. When we got sent to the Digital World, we got scattered and we're trying to find everyone. Before finding a way out of this world."

Cherrymon nods. "I see… I wish there was a way I could help."

Mandy looks back with a scowl. "But you're an Ultimate Level, right? You can lay waste to the army, right?"

Cherrymon shakes his head. "It's possible, but not directly… I've grown far too old to make any real impact, but I can create a fog that envelops the entire city, that fog creates hallucinations that could bring panic to the soldiers… but…"

"What?"

"I'm far too weak to generate such a powerful fog. I'll need some of my Vigor Mushrooms to regain my strength."

"Where are they?"

"I don't know… the D-Brigade took them. It should be in town somewhere… but I'm afraid I don't know."

Mandy felt annoyed, but she shouldn't be surprised, if Cherrymon was capable of taking out an entire army with hallucinogenic fog, then it would make sense they would steal what gives him the strength to do so, it was a smart move. She sighed a bit before responding.

"Fine, I'll go look for them. I probably shouldn't need to tell you to stay put."

"Of course, and should they return, I removed the shackles myself, and I was alone the entire time."

Mandy nods. And she immediately makes her way back to the window, she climbed up and back through the window, BlackGatomon followed, the two closed the window enough to leave it as it was, and they began to leave the area, with Mandy taking her Digivice out to send a message to everyone.

Mandy – 'The Elder can use a hallucinogenic fog to panic every last soldier, but he needs something called Vigor Mushrooms. If you find anything mushroom related, lemme know.'

Sperg and Agumon were in the alleyway behind a series of houses, he had just gotten Mandy's message and reading it. He read it and put his Digivice away, he and Agumon looked at each other and began to walk out of the alleyway carefully.

"First Digivices, now mushrooms?" mumbled Sperg.

"At least one of them sounds tasty." Said Agumon.

As they crept out of the alleyway, they noticed Mindy and Aruraumon far away from them, jumping from roof to roof, as an army of Commandramon give chase, screaming their heads off as they opened fire at her, but thankfully seem to be missing every shot.

Sperg and Agumon looked to the other side to see more Commandramon guarding two cages. One cage had all of the humans in it, the other had all the Digimon partners in, but that cage looked far more reinforced and even had wires around the bar, tied to a box with electrical sparks emitting from it. Sperg wasn't smart, but he remembered the time he peed on an electric fence, and that wire was making the cage electrical to the touch. With that in mind, he crept back into the alleyway with Agumon as the two began to think.

"So, we know where they're keeping the citizens, but where are they keeping the Digivices?" asked Sperg.

Agumon pondered too. "If I had to guess, either in one of the houses, or maybe in that Blimpmon.

Sperg raised an eyebrow. "Pud'n's on his way to Blimpmon." He took out his Digivice and opened the messenger app for Pud'n.

Sperg – Yo Pud'n, the Digivices might be stored in that Blimpmon, see if they're on there too while I keep searching the town.

Pud'n – No problem. We're nearly there.

Sperg put his Digivice away and looked back out the alleyway. But he accidentally kicked a rock as he stepped out and it rolled out into the street. This got one of the Commandramon's attention. "Hm?" He walked up to the rock and looked at it, as he did, Sperg and Agumon panicked as they ran back down the alleyway, the sudden sound of fast footsteps got Commandramon's attention more as he looked down the alleyway to see two silhouettes run down. "HEY!" He began to run after them. Another Commandramon near the cages noticed this and quickly followed, the others looked but stayed behind to guard the cages.

As Sperg and Agumon ran around a corner, Agumon turned back around and prepared a Pepper Breath attack, as the first Commandramon turned the corner, Agumon launched it, but forgot that his fire was replaced with confetti and tweeter noises, the Commandramon was startled and stepped back at the confetti, he looked at his armour covered in the stuff, but he was distracted long enough for Agumon to throw a punch sending him on the ground dropping his rifle, Agumon then jumped onto the Commandramon trying to punch him again but the Commandramon punched him back, and the two began punching each other aggressively.

Sperg immediately ran back holding a large trash can and threw it, landing directly on the Commandramon's head sending him to the ground knocking him out. The two sighed with relief until they heard gunfire and seeing the wall near them get struck by a few bullets, a second Commandramon gave chase and began open firing, the two quickly ran away dodging the bullets in a panic.

"BlackGatomon owes me big time for what she did to me!"

Pud'n and Gazimon were in a small forest area in a local park, they were perfectly hidden, Pud'n had his Digivice out, just finishing the message Sperg gave him.

"So, the Digivices might be in Blimpmon?" whispered Pud'n.

"It's worth investigating before we take it down." whispered Gazimon.

The two looked over a bush to see where Blimpmon was. It was hovering high in the sky above the park, it had a platform attached to metal beams going right up to it. And surrounding the platform were several Commandramon alongside a few small tents with massive cases with ammo, guns, grenades, and body armour, similar to what Commandramon already wear.

"So how are we gonna get into Blimpmon?" whispered Pud'n.

"We need a distraction… I know Mindy and Aruraumon are already doing one, but it's not driving off all of them." Whispered Gazimon.

Soon the two stop talking as they notice Sealsdramon and Vender Roman making their way to Blimpmon, the Commandramon immediately saluted to them.

"Who are they?" Pud'n whispered.

"Don't know." Gazimon whispered.

Vender took the Digivice from his arm strap and pressed some buttons making a holographic screen appear, he pressed some buttons on the screen and soon, his entire body began to glow. He looked back over to Sealsdramon.

"Ensure the convergence is complete. We cannot allow to lose access to this area. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes Sir!" Sealsdramon saluted.

Vender nodded, and soon the glowing became more intense as in a flash of light, he disappeared completely.

"Digivices can teleport us?" whispered Pud'n.

Sealsdramon looked over to the Commandramon, then he walked towards the platform. But just before he took a step forward, his walkie talkie blared to life. "SIR! COME IN SIR!"

Sealsdramon took his foot off the platform and grabbed his walkie talkie. "What's wrong? Report!"

"We've identified a member of Death Parade! We've been giving them the chase, but we can't catch up!"

Sealsdramon leaned back in shock. "WHAT!? They're here!? But Soulmon said they were heading south into the forest!" He soon growled in frustration. "Keep an eye on them! I'm making my way now!" He then turned to the rest of the Commandramon. "Half of you! With me! Now!"

"YES SIR!"

Sealsdramon ran off at a surprisingly high speed, while half of the Commandramon immediately ran after him but trailed behind.

Gazimon smirks seeing only half of the Commandramon guarding the platform. "Perfect. Wait here." Gazimon immediately jumped and began to dig as fast as he could underground. Pud'n watched as Gazimon disappeared underground, he then looked over to where the Commandramon were patrolling, a long two minutes had passed, then Pud'n jumped upon seeing Gazimon re-emerge from the ground next to him, then looked back over to the Commandramon. "Three… two… one."

Suddenly, the entire ground around them shook for a second or two and it all collapsed into a massive hole sending the Commandramon several feet down.

"Great job, Gazimon!" exclaimed Pud'n, which Gazimon immediately shushed, and he covered his mouth. "S-Sorry." He whispered.

"Come on. Hurry."

Pud'n and Gazimon jumped over the bush and ran towards the platform. Given there was a massive hole in the park, they had to jump over to reach the platform, Gazimon made it just fine, but Pud'n, lacking athletic skills and being weighed down by his shield, he barely made it and had to climb on with Gazimon's help.

There was a small console on the platform, with two big buttons shaped like arrows going up and down. Pud'n immediately pressed the up-arrow button, and the platform began to rise. As Pud'n looked down, he could see all the Commandramon in the massive hole Gazimon made, all of them looked unconscious, and it looked as if they dropped about six feet down into broken stone rubble and soil.

Soon he looked up to see them getting closer to Blimpmon, he let out a quiet sigh, getting ready for the worst.

Mindy and Aruraumon have continued to jump from roof to roof, thankfully dodging the gunfire was pretty easy since the angle of the rooves to the ground made it difficult for them to aim. Every time they jumped to a new roof, they used Aruraumon's tendrils like a grappling hook, and they usually managed to dodge the bullets but barely every time, in fact, Mindy has had a few marks on her clothes and hair where bullets barely managed to scratch her, Aruraumon thankfully has had zero damage whatsoever.

As Aruraumon launched her tendrils and latched onto another roof, Mindy grabbed onto Aruraumon again so they can launch over, but halfway during their launch, a few bullets were fired and struck Aruraumon's tendrils ripping them apart and the two fell to the ground hard.

Mindy pushed herself up feeling hurt from the fall, taking notice that her knees were marked badly, and some blood was seeping out, she tried her best to ignore the seething pain as she grabbed Aruraumon and helped her up, the two quickly noticed the Commandramon coming round the corner and the two immediately run.

"CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!" Mindy screamed.

As they were running, Aruraumon took a deep breath and unleashed a cloud of purple pollen which they left behind immediately, but the Commandramon who walked through it began to choke violently, with the others behind them stopping and trying to waft away the pollen.

"What was that!?" asked Mindy.

"Poison Pollen! I can do way more than relaxing pollen!"

Both felt smug until they heard gunfire and footsteps again implying they resumed their chase. Then they ran faster and more panicked, with Aruraumon unleashing another poison pollen, but this time the Commandramon ran through it no problem, as they had masks covered over their snouts and mouths.

As Mindy and Aruraumon turned a corner, the two stopped in a panic discovering a dead end with a wall that's twelve feet up. Aruraumon tried to use her tendrils to stretch again but discovered that they haven't fully grown back and can't stretch. The two looked behind them to see the Commandramon turning to them with their rifles pointing directly at them.

"HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE THEM, DEATH PARADE!"

Mindy and Aruraumon looked at each other and back to them confused. "Death Parade? What-"

"I SAID HANDS UP!"

Mindy and Aruraumon suddenly held their arms up in panic. One of the Commandramon walked slowly with his rifle still aimed at them, he got up to five feet from them and looked over to Mindy, seeing the Digivice on her belt, and immediately grabs it from her belt and yanks it off, and walks a few steps back.

"Now where are the rest of your terrorist buddies!?"

"What are you talking about!?" asked Mindy in a panic.

"Don't play dumb with us! We know it's you! The dam flooding! The destruction of Aururamail's power station! The ten billion bits worth of jewellery stolen! Your villainy ends here!"

Aruraumon speaks up. "We literally never heard of any of those! These humans only arrived in the Digital World three days ago!"

"We never did anything like that! We were kidnapped by a giant bird, we saved an Andromon from being controlled by this spider thing, and we camped outside Autumn Village!" Mindy shouted.

The Commandramon looked at both of them dead in the eye, he could see genuine panic and confusion. He lowered his gun slightly. "What…?"

Suddenly there was a massive blast of golden light coming from Mindy's Digivice, the Commandramon was launched back into the other Commandramon sending them to the ground, the Digivice floated in the air for a brief moment, letting Mindy grab it before it falls, and Aruraumon began to glow golden too, both her and the Digivice then began to emit red sparks.

ARURAUMON DIGIVOLVE TO… KIWIMON!

In a blast of light, Kiwimon emerged and stepped forward. Mindy jumped in excitement. "Hell yeah! You did it!"

"I think… we can only do it when we're in danger…" Kiwimon responded.

Mindy soon climbed onto Kiwimon's back with a smug look. "Well, whatever the case is, let's make some bigger noise!"

Kiwimon nodded. "Got it! Hold tight!"

Kiwimon launched herself at super high speeds and leapt over the Commandramon, who were just getting up from the impact, all of them quickly gave chase, all except for the one who interrogated them, he sat up, leaving the others to leave him behind, he had developed severe burn marks on his face and claw that held the Digivice. He slowly stood up and looked in the direction the others left. Giving off a low growl, then he picked up his rifle, placed his helmet back on and ran off to catch up.

End of Chapter

I didn't intend to do any more two-parters, but this chapter was already reaching close to 9k words and Chapter 4 made it to 11k. So as to not make it too bloated of a chapter, I think it's for the best it gets split in two.

The good news is that it means the next one may not take as long to develop, though I'm not betting on it.

Either way, hopefully you're enjoying how this story is unfolding. And hopefully you're looking forward to Chapter 7.
