Chapter 44: Running For Love.
When Remal was called to the Arbiters office of the Saviours HQ he was nervous as hell, he could actually feel his feathers quivering with the stored energy of his nerves as he walked in through the main door and across the lobby to the reception desk.
The duty officer looked up at him and greeted him with a warm smile, Remal knew him by sight as Ellis Jackson a very warm-hearted and friendly human Saviour Sargent who was very well-liked by his peers, he could often be found patrolling the city helping out any citizen who crossed his path with anything they needed.
He was also the first human to be caught by a Serpentinus during a mate hunt when their distant cousins had decided that if they were to live on the Clan Mason homeworld that they must respect and honour its traditions, apparently this particular pack had had their eye on Ellis since arriving and being greeted by him at the shuttle station as was one of the many jobs of Saviours such as himself, their participation in his mate hunt was also the point where new rules had to be introduced for both Serpentinus and now Raptorian participation.
"Greetings young Seeker from the word I'm getting bouncing around the office you'll most likely have an appointment in the Arbiters office right?" Ellis asked flashing Remal a warm and knowing smile.
Remal nodded, "Yes they contacted me earlier and asked me to come in to go over some paperwork" he replied and Ellis's smile got even wider and warmer, there was something very knowing in the young human's eyes.
"No problems let me just check, ahh there you are, Seeker first-class Remal Rainbowscale to see the lead Arbiter," he said checking his logs on the holographic screen in front of him before turning back to the nervous young Raptorian.
"It's the second-floor third door on the left, you can't miss it," Ellis said happily.
"Thank you, Sargent," Remal said turning to head towards the stairs but before he did Ellis called out to him.
"Seeker?" he said and Remal turned to him.
"Don't be afraid, trust me when I say this part here is the worst bit, you got all these thoughts swirling through your head right now like what if no-one shows up? Or what if I don't like the one who catches me? But trust me in the entire lifetime of the Mate Hunt not a single one has gone wrong, the Grand Patriach says each and everyone of them is watched over by the Eternal Huntress herself and she only guides the one who is worthy to their prey, now I don't know about that as I'm not a Seeker, that's more your expertise than mine, but what I do know is he was right, out of all the girls that chased after me Lisa was the one to find and catch me and the moment i saw her slithering out of the bushes I just knew who my heart belonged to, it just confirmed what I had originally thought on the day I greeted her and her pack to this paradise of ours, that beauty really does come in infinite forms and look at me now, I'm a proud pack male with four beautiful Serpentinus wives whom I worship the very ground they slither upon and whom adore the air I breathe, so trust me Seeker if the one who is worthy of your love stands with the queue signing up for you hunt right now, she and she alone will be the one to find you, if not you will escape and be free" Ellis said happily.
His words were surprisingly soothing to Remal and he nodded his thanks to the joy-filled young human, he was right of course, he just had to have faith in the Great Tree and the Eternal Huntress that they would guide him and the one who could love him together, but it still didn't stop his feathers trembling.
As Remal found the door to the head Arbiters office he knocked gently and a gruff voice called out from behind it, "Come in" it yelled sounding rather Yautja in nature, he opened the huge heavy wooden door and there sat behind a large hand-carved and polished dark wood desk was an absolutely huge Yautja female with red and yellow striped skin, she looked like she was wearing autumn camo the colours were so vivid.
She turned her bright neon green eyes to Remal and her face cracked into a surprisingly warm smile, "Ahhh you must be Seeker first-class Remal Rainbowscale correct?" she asked her voice sounding deep and very gravelly.
"Yes, Arbiter that's me," Remal said nervously and the huge woman stood and came around her desk offering him a hand to be shaken in the human gesture of greeting and friendship.
Remal took it and very nearly got his knuckles squashed by the power in the woman's utterly massive shovel-like hand that utterly enveloped his own, infact she very nearly lifted him off the ground with the momentum of the shake, a point she noticed a moment later and gave a somewhat embarrassed laugh.
"My apologies Seeker Rainbowscale, I always forget how light you Raptorian boys are, the girls are bad enough but I swear to the Eternal Huntress that I get the serious urge to have my Saviours run around setting up catcher nets every time we get a stiff breeze in case it starts blowing you little ones into the trees," she said with a warm smile.
Remal chuckled softly, he knew that she'd meant no insult with her humour, she was just a very direct person, a trait shared a lot among her people, "We may be small Arbiter but we can hit a lot harder than people think" he said flashing her a knowing smile and making her roar with laughter.
"Don't I know it, we got our first Raptorian applicants for the Saviours last week and I watched a pride of those girls tear one of my fucking training dummies to shreds with those claws of yours, had to chew them out and explain that you aren't meant to actually destroy the pauking thing just knock it over, guess when you're small you have to go a long way to prove yourself and get on people's radar huh?" she said with an amused smile.
"You could say that or well you know just to be a Dream Warrior who sings in a club," Remal said making her roar with laughter again.
"Yeah I did see that in your file, gotta say kinda makes me jealous and somewhat hopeful in a way, I hope my future husband can sing, there is something just so romantic about your husband singing for you or dancing nice and slow," she said with a dreamy look in her bright eyes.
Remal coughed and that seemed to snap her back to reality, "Oh! My apologies Seeker, please take a seat and we'll get right into it" she said gesturing to the huge comfy looking leather armchair opposite her desk.
The thing was so big that Remal knew his feet were going o have no chance of touching the floor when he sat upon it, hell he was going to have to empty some of his climbing skills just to actually get up to the thing, but then with races like the Yautja and Xenos wandering around he shouldn't be too surprised at the size of the furniture around here, the Clan tended to have a one size fits all kind of mentality about things, I that they made pretty much everything big enough to accommodate their largest members then adapted it so that it could be used by the smallest as well, though he did have to wonder what a Xeno queen-sized chair would look like?
Remal leapt up into the chair and immediately sank into the soft leather as he tried to settle himself in it, the Arbiter took her seat opposite him and brought up her holoscreen which she looked at him through, "Ok now first and foremost since you are the first Raptorian to ever take part in the Mate Hunt I'm going to have to go over not only the rules of the thing but the basis as well to make sure you understand exactly what it is that's happening here ok?" she said and Remal nodded.
"Ok good, right well first off the mate hunt itself was established right back when the Clan was founded, back then when we took on our first new members from other Clans who came here seeking their own chains to be broken by our Grand Matriach it was swiftly discovered that we had a rather large gender inequality brewing, for you see the vast majority of those who came here were Yautja females seeking the chance to find an ooman male, but back then there not enough oomans to go around which as you can imagine did not sit paticulaly well with the very hopeful and high spirited not to mention competitive Yautja girls, so in order to solve this problem our Grand Matriarch and Patriach formed the mate hunt, a fair contest and proof of hunting prowess that appealed greatly to the Yautja affinity for the way of the hunt, but it was more than that, our Grand Patriach had approached the Eternal Huntress herself and asked for her blessing to not only guide the huntress whose heart was pure, but also to watch over and protect the prey from those whose love was not strong enough to carry them for a life time, given that our Grand Patriach is her left hand she agreed and the Mate Hunt was born but it has endured as one of our most sacred traditions, now it is tradition that when anyone comes of age in the Clan they can be hunted or fought over as the other option is what we call the Battle Royale, bascialy a test of the suitors combat prowess, a knock down and submission event where all the suitors enter the ring and only one stands victorious, though this usually invoked by the females of the Clan" the Arbiter explained.
Remal nodded his understanding and the Arbiter smiled at his understanding, "Good, so with the history lesson out of the way now on to the main event, Seeker First Class Remal Rainbowscale of the proud Raptorian peoples and now a full member of Clan Mason you have been challenged to a mate hunt by the members of the Clan Mason, there has been significant interest in you to the point where it is necessary to invoke the scared Mate Hunt before the Eternal Huntress, do you acknowledge this?" the Arbiter asked and Remal nodded.
"Yes," he said softly and that earned him a glance from the Arbiter that carried a heavy note of concern in her eyes.
"Seeker look at me," she said and he did so lifting his head to meet her eyes.
"There is no dishonour or shame in not being ready for this, it is a big step and as one who has personally signed off on hundreds of these I know doubts when I see them, if you are not ready for this simply say the word and I will halt this right here, right now, no one will dare argue with your decision or they would face the wrath of the Clan as a whole for disrespecting the honour of the mate hunt let alone your honour," she said firmly but also softly.
Remal took a deep breath and shook his head, "No I am ready to find myself, someone, I-I'm just nervous is all, this is so very different from what I'm used to and its all so strange to me, but I am Clan Mason now and I will uphold our sacred traditions just as I would fight for them" he said proudly earning him a knowing and proud smile from the Arbiter.
"Well trust me there are a lot of ladies who will be very happy to hear that, the reason we called you in so late is that it's taken all day to process the applications, the damn queue stretched right the way across the bloody city, you are a lot more popular than you seem to believe Seeker, hell there was even one of your fellow Seekers right at the front of it too, a Yautja and she was very proud to be first in line to put her name to the petition to hunt you," she said making Remal's small mouth fall open.
"R-Really? There were that many?" he exclaimed and she nodded.
"Yeah we even had both Serpentinus and Raptorians signing up, this caused a delay due to the rules that we had to put into place to counter group hunting that makes sure each pack or pride that sign up can only nominate one of their number to hunt to make it fair on all other participants" the Arbiter explained and Remal was so utterly overwhelmed and flattered he simply didn't have the words to express it.
"Well then on with questions, number one, Remal Rainbowscale are you here today of your own free will? Have you been placed under any form of pressure or what you would consider to be coercion by any member of the Clan in order to allow yourself to be hunted? And if so please name this person as Clan Mason and indeed the Eternal Huntress does not allow for such things, if this hunt is not of free will or choice by both parties involved it will not take place" she asked and Remal shook his head making his feathers swish.
"No, I'm here because I chose to be," he said and the Arbiter nodded then proceeded to ask him a series of questions designed obviously to route out any form of pressure or coercion being applied to him by someone all of which he answered to her satisfaction, she then asked him a great many other questions ascertaining to things like his gender preference and sexuality in order to ensure that those of only the correct gender would be allowed to hunt, Remal answered that he was heterosexual and the Arbiter explained that quite a few hopeful males of all races had signed up in the hope that his answer there would be different but it was part of the clan's rules that someone's choices or simple makeup in this area be utterly respected because both fully homosexual and even bisexual hunts were taken just as seriously and guarded with equal fervour by all members of the Clan, Remal was seriously beginning just how seriously the Clan took love and equality.
After a barrage of other questions, the Arbiter went on to explain the rules, "Ok from the moment you place your signature to that paper to the point where you stand upon the start line you have the right to reverse your decision, the only time you cannot is when the hunt begins do you understand this?" she asked and Remal nodded.
"Good, ok next up are the rules of the hunt itself and they are very very simple, first off no Dream Warrior abilities, I know some of them are woven into your mind and cannot be shut off like your senses and that is fine, but no super speed, no calling spirits or animals to help you or hide you, nothing like that at all, you will run as a normal everyday male Raptorian understand?" she asked and he nodded.
"Good, alright next up no violence of any kind and if any is used upon you you are to immediately report it to either one of the Saviour marshals or the prevailing Seeker, same goes for if you witness violence being used by the huntresses on one another, to use violence in this hunt is to spit upon the sacred foundations of Clan Mason and to spit upon the Eternal Huntress and now the Great Tree also, it is not tolerated at all, ever, the only place violence is permitted is in the arena of honour during a battle royale and that is strictly regulated, hell you ought to see just how many Seekers, Saviours and Battle Angels we have on hand when one of those is called," she said and Remal nodded breathing a slight sigh of relief.
"You will have twenty-four hours from the moment that whistle of release is blown and you will be issued with a countdown stopwatch that cannot be altered or reset by anyone other than Matriach Sela eleth herself, it is the sacred duty of the Saviours to guard the hunted and to watch over the hunters and we take this very seriously, the watch also has three other features other than counting down the remaining time left on your hunt, it is a GPS that tells the marshals where you are at all times, it is also a distress beacon so if anything happens or you get into trouble you hit it and its like kicking off a mini Dark Star, goddess above if you've ever wondered what it would be like if it suddenly started raining Saviours and Battle Angels press that bloody button and you'll find out," the Arbiter said with a proud grin on her mandibles that made Remal laugh at the mental image.
"Don't need to wonder I took part in a real one" Remal said and the Arbiter smiled at him proudly and nodded.
"I know and you did both your Clan, the Seekers and your people proud on that day Remal, from what I hear you were instrumental in bringing home our beloved sister to us in one piece and placing her back in the loving arms of her queen and hive as well as right-back behind the shield of the Clan where she belongs," the Arbiter said making Remal puff out his chest with pride at her words.
"Thank you Arbiter your words are very kind but it was not just I but the Clan as a whole acting as one, a more beautiful sight as I saw that day on that world I have never seen, the weight of the whole Clan crashing down on those who would harm one of us like a giant hammer was magnificent," he said earning him another proud smile.
"Small body but a fierce heart little one," she said with a nod then she quickly went back to the rules.
"Ok, so where was I? Oh yes, so you have twenty four hours to run and you may run and hide anywhere you wish, there is no part of the world that is off limits to you though bear in mind the use of vehicles or any form of transport other than your own two feet is utterly prohibited, walk, run, climb or swim thats it, if your body can do it its allowed with the exception of aforementioned Dream Warrior abilities, if you evade for the full twenty four hours the hunt ends and you are free, but if a huntress catches you she simply has to catch you and pin you down for the capture to be complete, this will be done with the use of trips, throws or holds, there will be no striking of any kind towards you or by you towards her, once you are pinned you must submit and then you must offer her your watch, she will touch her watch to it and it will instantly transmit a signal back to the Saviours that the hunt has been concluded and you have been captured and who by, now it is tradition that the huntress who catches you to carry you back to the start point where you will both be met by the Seeker who is overseeing things, they will then take you both directly to be presented to the Grand Matriach and Patriach as the product of a sucssesful mate hunt so that they can bless your union and bind you in marriage before the gods and the Clan and thats it little one, thats all there is to it, from that point a happy life filled with love awaits you" she said proudly.
It did amaze Remal, it was such a smile yet such a complex thing, they had taken the traditions of the Yautja and their love of the honourable hunt and turned it into a way for the potential suitor to show off not only her hunting skills but the strength of her convictions and her heart before the Eternal Huntress and now before the Great Tree as well, it was a weirdly beautiful thing indeed.
"Just make sure you give those girls a good run Remal, don't you go down easy, make them work for you, make those girls fight to earn every step that they manage to get closer to you, you are a very worthy male and an incredibly worthy prey, prove it, make them hunt you hard, make yourself the prize that they are all fighting for, so when finally the one lucky enough and skilled enough to put you down finally hoist you into the prize carry she will smile through every step home with her pride radiating off her as she shows off the trophy that she has won for herself before the whole clan," the Arbiter said proudly.
"I will Arbiter I promise," he said and she nodded her approval.
"Good boy, right then all you need to do is sign here and the count down will begin, when we are ready we will call you," she said pushing the pad towards Remal, he picked it up and scanned it before signing it, so this was it, his single life was about to be over and he was about to take his first step into the heart of someone else.
It only took a single day for them to call him up, he was scheduled for 8 am the next morning which gave him a single day to prepare himself, the whole day Remal had to fight with his nerves, hell he'd sung and danced in front of thousands of people and he'd taken that all completely in his stride, but this, this was tearing him apart from the inside out.
He utterly lost count of how many times he very nearly lost his nerve and marched his scaley rear down to the Arbiters office and rescind his consent to hunt, but it was the odd images of all those disappointed faces that drove him to stay strong, he found it so incredibly shocking and deeply flattering that there was just so much interest for him, he didn't even realise that he was that well known in the Clan.
He spent the whole day trying to distract himself with things like training, but nothing worked, if anything it just worked him up more until an Angel in the form of Jack Mason himself appeared in the Seeker training hall.
Jack spotted Remal and made a beeline for him, "Ahhh there's our little prey Raptorian, how are you doing Remal?" he asked.
Remal looked up at him and instantly Jack's face changed when he saw his eyes, "What's wrong little one?" he asked placing his hand on her shoulder and guiding him over to the meditation mats and sat him down.
"I-I-I just don't know if I'm ready for all this Grand Patriarch? I mean what if the girl goes to all that trouble to catch me and then discovers that I wasn't worth it?" Remal stammered and the elder human's face cracked into a warm fatherly smile.
"Oh, little one is that what worries you? Here come with me I want to show you something" he said standing up and then helping Remal to his feet with a hand that showed off his incredible hidden strength.
"Where are we going?" Remal asked and jack smiled and touched his snout in an oddly human gesture.
"You'll see," he said and with that, the pair set off across the city.
It turned out where they were going was the Hunter training grounds and barracks, out the front of the place the Hunters were being drilled in their respective squads, they were doing everything from running laps around the tracks to milling and there right in the middle of everything was their Grand Matriarch Tik eleth Mason.
"You see that woman right there?" Jack said pointing to her and Remal turned to look at her, she was like a goddess made flesh, not tall by Yautja standards but she towered over him and all the other new Raptorian recruits that she was in the process of drilling in P.T.
Remal nodded as he watched her doing burpees and watching all the Raptorians and the others gathered struggling to keep up with the mighty huntress leading them, "I have been at her side for over a hundred years hell it won't be long before it gets close to two hundred and you want to know something?" Jack said turning to glance at Remal who was utterly absorbed in watching Tik who had switched to doing squats which in her skin-tight bodysuit really showed off the utterly solid muscle her body was made out of.
"Yes?" Remal said questioningly.
"Not a day goes by where I do not give thanks to the goddess for brining her into my life, whether it was fate or by the goddesses hand I was kidnapped and dropped onto the world where she had been a prisoner for years fighting to survive alone, when we met we didn't know whether to trust each other or kill one another but i swiftly learned the depths that woman was willing to go to protect those she cared about, she taught me everything I needed to know about strength and about love, we are not the same but we are the same heart, we argue and disagree like any couple but through it all our love keeps us strong, we have two beautiful cubs together and through them we forged this entire place, that is what the mate hunt represents little one, it gives someone the chance to prove to the one they want the true depths they are willing to go through to be the one who walks at your side, so trust me when I say the person who carries you through that archway will never be disappointed in you because they will already know the prize they carry and earned, so trust me and trust the Great Tree little one, if it was not the right time you would not be stood right here right now with me" he said smiling.
Jack's words warmed the young emotional little Raptorian's heart and he smiled and bowed, "Thank you Grand Patriarch, I swear I won't let you or the one who claims me down" he said and Jack smiled before his eyes lit up with an odd playful sparkle.
"Want another free tip little one?" he asked and Remal cocked his head.
"Of course Grand Patriarch," he said and Jack's smile turned wry.
"I suspect the one who catches you will look a lot like my beloved wife right there, a towering pillar of prime Yautja beef with a heart of gold and an arse that can crack steel and there is one thing you need to know when dealing with the Yautja, especially the girls," he said and Remal cocked his head again.
"Oh? And what's that Grand Patriarch?" he asked and just like that Jack vanished leaving crackling air where had once been stood.
Instantly Remal's Dream Warrior abilities kicked in by reflex and time slowed so he was able to see Jack run right up to Tik and smack her bum in slow motion before as he mandibles began to flare open in a roar of surprise leaning in and snatching a kiss before belting back towards him at full speed.
"And that's how to fucking run," Jack said and time sped back up just in time for Tik's surprise roar to rip across the training grounds.
Remal turned to look just in time to see Tik's head snapping around so fast her predlocks were whipping around her head, her eyes instantly locked onto her husband and his little Raptorian companion, "You! Just you wait till I get my claws on you sneak Seeker!" Tik roared but surprisingly her voice didn't sound angry.
She began to charge right at the pair at full tilt and fucking hell could Yautja girls cover distance when they wanted, Remal felt his eyes widen as Tik began to bear down on the pair, "Run!" Jack exclaimed and the pair took off with Tik in hot pursuit and the sounds of Yautja growling and human laughter in ringing in his ears, was this what love was?
Years of being together at each other's side every day but not having the love and passion dulling even for a moment, this what Remal had always dreamed of and what love would really be like, the pair ran back to the Seeker temple where they just stood laughing together in the training room.
Remal panted heavily, "A-A-Are Yautja always so intense and persistent?" he asked looking at Jack who simply grinned at him knowingly.
"Oh you have no idea little one and trust me you love every single second of it, angry horny wife in three...two...one..." Jack said looking at the door just before it flew open to reveal Tik eleth who had chased the pair clean across the city.
"Now I've got you sneaky ooman! There will be no more running! You sneak attack a huntress and now you will pay the price!" Tik yelled and she charged right at him but this time Jack didn't run he just turned and grinned at Remal.
"Get used to this little one, trust me you're going to love it," he said about a second before Tik ploughed into Jack like a pile driver knocking him off his feet and flipping him off his feet and onto the shoulder.
"Sorry Seeker I am taking your Grand Patriarch home for a much-needed lesson in manners towards his huntress," she said giving his rear end a squeeze and walking off proudly carrying her husband over her shoulder who also looked proud and suddenly Remal fully understood what Jack was saying, once true love took hold it simply didn't let go no matter how long you held it but you had to earn it and that's exactly what the ones who were hunting him were hoping to do, prove to him that their heart was the strongest and they were worthy of him just as they already believed that he was worthy of them, so that's exactly what he would do, prove that he truly was.
That night he barely got any sleep but now it wasn't because he was nervous or scared but because he was excited, he was now truly hopeful he could find himself a love just like the one that the Grand Patriarch and Matriarch had, that was exactly what he needed for himself.
The next day at 07:50 sharp Remal Rainbow scale was stood under the Great Arch which was the symbolic entrance to the capital city of Clan Mason, it was made up of a human and a Yautja holding hands with a Xeno tail winding over them like a rope and binding all three together forever.
Stood with him were the Arbiter and the Jack Mason who had decided to precede over this mate hunt himself which was always his right as Grand Patriarch, stood next to him was the Grand Matriarch who was still looking rather pleased with herself after yesterday's snatching of her husband away, she would be acting as master of the ceremony, gathered around them were a literal army of Saviours who were as always the marshals of the hunt and protectors of the prey, this was not just a gesture thing symbolizing that everyone in Clan Mason was protected always, it was actual and real.
Before them stood over three thousand females of all species, there humans, Yautja, Xenos, Raptorians and even Serpentinus, even hybrids of all the big three races were there, hell Remal even swore that he from his little platform spotted one of the rehabilitated Scalathor Dream Warriors in the crowd before him, but there was one face that really stood out fright in the very front row, Xtam stood grinning at him with a very predatory look in her eyes.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road shall we?" Jack said giving a nod to his wife and Tik let out a bellowing roar so loud that it silenced every single mouth present and Jack nodded.
"Alright ladies we all know why you are here, you have signed the right to hunt form to petition your right to hunt your prey this pretty little Raptorian boy stood right next to me, Remal Rainbowscale of the proud Raptorian people, he will be the very first Raptorian male to be the prey of a great mate hunt, this will be the true joining of our two great worlds and cultures, it makes me incredibly proud to precede over this monumentus event, Remal is one of my beloved Seekers and watching him turn from nervous little male who is unsure of himself or his place in the world to standing tall as a proud warrior and Seeker of Truth fills my heart with a joy I cannot even remotely put into words, this proud little male stood next to me was utterly instrumental in the recent Dark Star call from our beloved sister Xipa Longclaw he and his team not only rescued our beloved sister and returned her to the loving arms of her queen and her hive but helped us not only rescue a new queen and her hive as well as using his amazing gifts to prevent further loss of life and allow us to both capture the guilty and free the oppressed, so ladies I do truly hope you fully understand the character of the prize you are hunting here and let only the Goddess or the Great Tree find the one who measures up to that for him" Jack said before giving his wife a subtle nod.
Tik stepped forwards and looked over the crowd of gathered hopeful women, "Alright ladies brace yourself the hunt is about to begin, I will be acting as the master of ceremonies for today and I want a good clean hunt, if I even hear a whisper of anyone acting with dishonour towards their fellow huntresses or goddess forbid towards this little hopeful male right here they will answer to me personally and trust me it will not be a friendly chat" Tik growled and Remal could see all of the girls in front of him puffing out their chests in pride and agreement with her.
Tik turned to the Arbiter and nodded and she stepped forwards, "Alright ladies the rules you all know but to just to be clear, to complete the hunt and claim this beautiful and wonderful prey this is a pin and submit claim, throws holds and grips ONLY, no violence and no use of Dream Warrior abilities, this hunt will be clean and it will be equal, but I swear this before you all if I see a single scuff on those pretty scales or one of those beautiful feathers out of place the one who did it will answer for it, let the Great Tree or the Eternal Huntress guide your hunt if your heart and your love is strong and true, so with that out of the way let this hunt begin!" she yelled and there was a huge cheer from the crowd before him.
She turned to Remal whose heart was utterly pounding in his chest, "You will have the customary one hour head start, so are you ready Remal Rainbowscale?" she asked and he nodded.
"Then run Remal run towards your destiny and let only the one who truly holds your heart catch you, now run!' she said and with that Remal turned and began to run as fast as his little Raptorian legs would carry him towards the great forest, well without using his Dream Warrior abilities anyway, now all he had to do was stay ahead of the huntresses until the one who was for him appeared, so darting between the trees all he had to do now was choose a direction in which to run.
