It came to my attention the next day that, when we started training, I had to make sure I egged on Oozma Kappa the right way, because they weren't really fans of physical labor, given they were the nerdy types and Don was also pushing 40. So, I simply said the only physical training we'd do from then on would be a single lap around the campus, which they were much more okay with, since it'd help them train how to run, which would definitely come in useful when it came to the first scare game, which I also trained them for the first contest.

"When we go to the first scare game, from what I've seen from this pamphlet, they'll have these toxic orbs that will make your body puff up like a balloon if hit. So we'll need to try our hardest to avoid them. So we'll also need to test reflexes. So, when it comes to the next runs, we'll proceed to do the lap while also sidestepping every few seconds," I said, which Narleen gawked at.

"Wowzers, this contest sounds intense," she said.

"We won't be the only ones competing, of course, as we'll have at least 6 other sors and frats competing with us. And in these contests, it's a team effort. If even one of us doesn't make it across the finish line, all of us are disqualified. So we'll need to train how fast we are with reflexes, speed, and reaction time. LOOK!" I shouted, which made all of them look at the direction I pointed. "That was a test and it wasn't good. Next time, we'll need to duck and cover or sidestep out of the way. If you hear even a single sound in that bedroom other than snoring, you need to get out of dodge quickly, or the parents will see you," I said, which the group nodded at.

"Got it, we'll be careful from here on-" Don was going to say before I then shouted.

"OH MY GOD!" I shouted, them then immediately ducking out of cover... aside from Art. "Improvement, but we all gotta do it in the next training session, 'kay, Art?" I smiled, him nodding.

"Sorry, I'll work on it," he smiled as best he could.

Afterwards, we then proceeded to train and do our different classes the rest of the schoolyear, but I did note that my one classmate, Undine (SCP Hairfin was her sorority title), was not happy with how I ended up embarrassing Shapeshifter and Catra. But I then spoke to her and told her my side.

"Your sorority leader went up to Oozma Kappa and saw they were offering cake for presents, and she destroyed it rather than accept a slice. I told her off for being a rude bully and she then got angry at me. She tried to sneak-attack me when I got some evidence against her, and she tried to attack, so I counter-struck. You don't mess with a member of the Bandifoot family who's a master of Kung-fu," I said, knowing enough to know it was still a thing in this world.

"Really now? Kung-Fu, huh? What belt do you have?" Carrie smiled at me.

"Third-degree brown belt. I decided to hold off from further training after, just so I wouldn't upstage the other students," I smiled.

"Wow, you really do stick up for the little ones, don't ya?" Marge said with happy eyes, since I couldn't see her smile.

"I try to," I smirked as Undine then frowned.

"Fine, I'll be cordial and tell her that she messed with a brown belt, but I'm still not happy with you for making SCP look like a joke last night."

"Just know this. If anyone messes with Oozma Kappa, they mess with their new protector. And she's just as bulky as Bill Sullivan and has a roar that can shake the ground and make the leader of ROR faint upon hearing it," I said, which made those in the class that heard me look at me in shock.

"Whoa, what?! You made Johnny Worthington III faint?! You're joking, you gotta be!" said one of the other students, me seeing it was the one who was part of a team for the dangerous door at the end of the semester. The one that led to the summer camp.

"Believe it or not, I saw it for myself! It was so cool!" said the voice of the Claire Wheeler, the co-host of the year's scare games and her being actually excited about me being a part of the scare games, considering from what she was like when I signed up Oozma Kappa.

"Isn't she part of Oozma Kappa, though? How could someone from that frat be so good to make Johnny faint?" asked the professor, which I smiled at him.

"Never underestimate the little guys, that's all I'm going to say. By the time the scare games come, we'll have a full team for the event, and we'll also have a deal to make with Hardscrabble," I smirked.

"Should I make a note of that?"

"Please do not. It's going to be a surprise for the coming future, just in case I can get any other members before that happens," I said, which they nodded at.

During the next few weeks before the scare exams happened, we ended up training good and hard, I managed to convince Mike to join our Frat, and I also learned that Sully hated me JUST as much as he didn't like Mike. Mainly because I was the one responsible for his dad getting fired, which I then told him a simplified reason as to what happened.

"He was doing illegal activity at the place. It involved using doors after hours to scare kids in secret. He's a no-good cheater," I frowned at him, which Sully gawked at before getting mad at me.

"My father would never cheat! Not ever!"

"Want to know the full story? Ask him for the truth. I'm sure that you'd know more than anyone if your father, famed scarer Bill Sullivan, was lying or not, right, James? You should know all the signs of truth versus lies, like any good father and son do," I frowned.

"Ah! What do you know?" he asked me in annoyance.

"I was raised by my mother, and even when I was 7, I was able to tell from her looks when she was truthful and when she lied. It's how I knew that some things didn't exist and how my great grandmother was banished to the human world," I said, which made Sully surprised. "Yep. Figure that one out... on second thought, how about you figure out how to get an A instead of a C?" I frowned, him then looking at his paper and then frowning at me. He wasn't going to be easy to convert to Oozma Kappa as he was now, so I needed to do other tactics.

But of all the classes at the place, I learned that I hated the class that involved scream canisters the most. It was just as boring as it was in the actual movie, and it was torturous having to sit down in a long lecture from a guy who was half asleep half the time.

Regardless, it finally came the day of the first true test of the Scaring Program, which I'd practiced all the different skills of the Scaring Program with Mike whenever I wasn't training Oozma Kappa, but he did also join after a week had passed, since I said that they were getting good at their skills of both training for the games, as well as for the scaring simulator at the very end. So that meant we needed one more member, but even after my accolades, it seemed none of the others wanted to join Oozma Kappa at all. So that meant that Sully was the only one, but I had to work on his tough exterior before getting to the fluffy kitty within him.

"Today, Dean Hardscrabble will watch over the proceedings to see who is fit to be a scarer, and who is going to be eliminated," the professor said as he then went to the simulator and turned up the dial to 5.5. "For this test, we'll be going up from Bedwetter to Heavy Sleeper. Give it all you've got. Highest scores stay in the class. The 10 lowest scores will be eliminated."

We then proceeded to do the tests, with me actually doing mine first, me needing to do a scare for an 8-year-old boy who was afraid of mice and swimming pools. So I had to do a swimming motion towards the bed before then doing a loud squeaking noise, which was actually enough for me to fill up the scream meter to near-full!

"Huh, impressive showing, Miss Bandifoot! I do believe that's the highest score we've gotten for awhile with this test," Dean Hardscrabble smiled, which I felt proud of. But then... it came time for Sully and Mike to try and scare each other, not helped by ROR egging Sully on with the promise of the Frat. I simply watched from the sidelines... that is, until the scream canister was about to fall. I then rushed in as fast as I could and grabbed the canister right before it would've collided with the ground, me then sighing in relief.

"Hah... hahaha... man, that was close," I said... but then, I regretted what I just did. I forgot the one thing about me that would make me dangerous. I just laughed. And even those few short seconds were enough to fill the canister to the point it was ready to burst! "Uh-oh..." I gulped before the scream canister then did something that made me shocked by. I screamed in terror as my feet left the ground and I was sent flying through the air on the flume of the canister!

"AAAAHHHH! SAVE ME! I'M NOT GOOD WITH HEIGHTS!" I shouted, my screaming doing something else as I saw the power in the lightbulbs fluctuate before I then felt my body slam into the wall, followed by the scream canister, before I then fell the rest of the way down and onto my butt. "Oogh... ow..." I groaned... and then I heard the loud thump of Dean Hardscrabble from behind me, which I saw she also had Mike and Sully with her via holding them with her giant centipede tail.

"What. Was that?" she asked me, which I gulped at as I then looked at the scream canister and knew that I messed up. It was broken into five pieces.

"I... I don't know... I didn't mean to... I-I'm so sorry, miss... I tried to save it... but I screwed it all up," I sighed in defeat.

"It's quite alright. It's just a simple heirloom of my accomplishments. Easily replaced," she said, me knowing it by her voice and her tone. She was holding back a lot of rage. "You will meet with me after class. As for you two, I'll start with the green one. I'm a 4-year-old that's afraid of clowns and loud music. What scare do you use?" she asked.

"S-Shouldn't I go up to the-" Mike was about to say before she spoke.

"Which scare. Do you use?"

"Um.. that'd be Jazz Clown," he said.

"Demonstrate." Mike then tried to do so, but Hardscrabble stopped him. "Stop, stop. I've seen enough," she said before she went to Sully. "I'm a 7-year-old girl who's-" she was about to finish before Sully roared in her face. "I wasn't finished."

"I don't need to know all that stuff to scare. I just do it," Sully smiled.

"That STUFF would've made you know that this girl is afraid of snakes, so a roar would not make her scream, it would make her cry, which would cause the parents to check on her and risk the exposure of monsters to the world of humans and put our entire way of life in jeoporady. So, unfortunately, you will not be continuing the scaring program," Hardscrabble frowned.

"What? B-But I'm Bill Sullivan's son!"

"Well, then. I'm sure your father will be very disappointed in you." And it was then that Sully got even more mad and he then left in anger. "And you, mister Wazowski. You lack something that simply cannot be taught. You're. Not. Scary. So you won't be continuing the scare program either," Hardscrabble said, me then frowning at that.

"Now hold on just a frigging minute!" I shouted, which made the entire class gasp and for Hardscrabble to raise her wings and look at me in anger. But I was not so easily intimidated. "This is a clear case of judging a book by its cover and prejudice! You can't do that!" I frowned at her with some sass.

"Are you trying to talk back to ME?!" Hardscrabble asked in anger.

"You bet your scaly ass I am!" I shouted, which made the class all gasp in shock and Randal looked like he was about ready to flee the scene. "They may have been acting up, but just because your heirloom was destroyed by me, specifically, it doesn't mean that they have to pay the price for it! Let Mike and Sully go to the simulator. If they don't make it past halfway on the meter, then I'll be kicked out of the program alongside them!" I frowned, Hardscrabble frowning at me as I saw that Sully was actually listening in from above the balcony and was still in the building, hearing me shout all that.

"You really think that you'll win that bet?" she frowned at me.

"I'm willing to throw down the gauntlet. And even if I lose this bet, I'll have another one for later on involving the scare games regardless," I frowned, which the others looked at in intrigue.

"Hmph. Very well, your theory will be tested. If they do not make it to halfway on the meter, 10 points of 20, then all three of you are out of the scaring program," she said, me nodding at her as I put out my hand.

"Deal," I frowned, her then shaking it. Mike then proceeded to go do his demonstration with Hardscrabble watching intently. And while I was doing this, Sully looked scared.

"I don't know any of the scaring tactics... you know you're going to lose this bet, so why make it in the first place?" Sully asked me.

"I know, and that's why I'm going to follow up with another bet. But only if you want my help to get back in the program and learn how to be a true scarer. Just try your best. Be honest if you don't know the technique, and then I'll follow up with the next bet," I said, him then nodding. But I could tell that Hardscrabble was listening in the whole time as Mike managed to do his scare and managed to get a 14 out of 20, which proved that Hardscrabble was wrong. And she then looked at me specifically.

"Regardless of the bet that you make next, you are still out of the scaring program, since Sullivan says he doesn't know any of the scaring procedures. So what is your follow up bet?" she frowned.

"Me, Sully, and Mike will join Oozma Kappa and become a part of the Scare Games. If our team makes it the whole way to the end, you have to let ALL of us back into the scaring program, since I've learned that you were prejudiced to all of the members of Oozma Kappa based on appearance," I frowned.

"And what would that prove?" she frowned.

"That you were wrong, prejudiced, judgmental, and a BAD teacher," I said, which the crowd gawked at.

"Oooh, she's a dead woman," George Sanderson said.

"Hmph. Very well, your bet is made. But if you lose, you will all leave Monsters University. And never come back," she said, me nodding at her and taking her hand.

"Deal," I said as I shook her hand again. And Mike and Sully looked at me in surprise after. "Now, if you all will excuse us, I need to consult with my new teammates. We've got a lot of work before the games begin." I then led my current trio out of the scare program's doors and Mike and Sully looked to be amazed, but also scared and upset.

"Your plan is either pure genius, or the worst plan in years. And why include the jock?" Mike asked, me frowning at him.

"And why would you stick up for me when I've been such a big jerk?" Sully asked.

"Each of us are a member of the downtrodden. It doesn't matter if you look small or cute, Mike, it all depends on your skill, your tenacity, the execution of the scares. You managed to get up to 14 on the score, but the final test in the Scare Games will have the simulator at its highest level. And James, you may be a Sullivan, but you're the one holding yourself back. Stop living in your father's shadow and start being yourself. We're going to train hard and long in order to get through the games, as each will be more dangerous than the last," I said as I then proceeded the two of them with our free time we had, which I first trained them on the side stepping run for the first test, and then I trained them on the quiet step challenge, as we had to prevent from making noise in the library. I showed them how to do it in a floor that was equally as creaky. The lunchroom.

I showed them the best way to get across a creaky floor was simple, but tough.

"Watch," I said as I then proceeded to move across the floor on the palms of my feet, moving them across the ground as if I were going across a carpet, them looking on as I didn't make a single sound and made it to the other side of the 40-yard-long cafeteria floor, which they looked at in surprise.

"How did you do that?" Sully asked.

"The trick is to keep your weight all in your rear foot and move across the floor like you're scraping dirt off your shoes. It's hard to master, but easy to learn. I've managed to train Oozma Kappa, but know that, if you make a small creak noise, you'll need to divert your path differently, since the second challenge will have us up against the librarian... and she is GIANT!" I said, which Sully nodded at as he and Mike then tried to do the deed, and found it was harder than they thought it'd be, but whenever they heard a tiny creak, they then diverted their movements elsewhere before making it to the other side in 20 seconds for Sully and 30 seconds for Mike.

"Impressive first try. Believe it or not, it's tougher for shorter monsters to do this, as they have their weight in their center rather than all over," I said, which Mike nodded at.

"I didn't know that scaring was so intense like that," he admitted.

"We gotta keep training up, because the library is almost 3 times larger than this for the main hall, which we'll need to go from the entry to the other end of it in order to grab a flag hung from the balcony. That's when Sully will use his strength to get a chain going to lower the rest of the smaller monsters down to grab the flag," I explained. We then started to train Sully in the different scaring techniques, needing to take it slow and steady at first, due to the stress, so I had him memorize five of the 150+ scares, which he was good at the roar, of course, but he would need help with it for sure, as he needed to learn bit by bit. But with dedication, we'd get there.

"Alright, then I'd say it's time for us to go to the Frat house, right?" Mike asked.

"Until the scare games are announced, we'll be going to our other classes instead, meaning that us three are going to be training even harder in the meantime. I'll be gentle, I promise," I smiled.

"You weren't gentle with Johnny, that was for sure... and I never expected you to cuss out Hardscrabble in front of the whole class! I didn't think anyone could be that brave," Sully admitted.

"I've dealt with people like her before. Teachers who treat you like a minority and think you aren't good at something just because of looks. I never expected that from such a highly-regarded school rather than me growing up in the middle of nowhere, but that shows that nobody can be judged on a first go around. As for Hardscrabble, don't worry about what she says. Once we win the scare games, we'll be way better. But until then, we'll need to work together, got it?" I said, them frowning and nodding, still being a bit upset about the team-up. But we then got some dinner before going back to Oozma Kappa. Once the Scare Games came up, we'd need to use our training to beat all the other teams! And better yet, each of the events would take place over the course of a week apart for each, so I'd still have time to work on my door and the secret project I'd do during the weekends. A project that I'd be hiding away from everyone else, because I know they wouldn't be okay with it.

I was going to make the door to see my sister again, no matter what.
