Chapter 85: Homesick.
Adesus felt her heart starting to bounce in her chest with a distinct sense of anxiety coursing through her which seemed to grow stronger with every step she took.
After the long weeks spent seemingly adrift in the vast ocean of black searching for the answer to saving her people in the vauge directions Mycelia the All Mother had given Feris they had finally tracked down the Godslayer and the breaker of Chains.
Now it seemed they were living up to the faith that Mycelia had placed in them despite having never met either of them as it appeared that they were readying Clan Mason and its allies to take up the cause of the Velon people, so why did it fill her with such anxiety and acute dread?
She should be happy, thrilled in fact, that they were finally going to take the fight to Adem and his vile Clan Ruara ilk but for some reason she just couldn't shake she felt a real dark foreboading in this.
Maybe it was she was dreading seeing exactly what it was that Clan Ruara had turned her beloved hom in to in their absence that was fanning the flames of her fear, or maybe it was the creeping fear of finally reaching her home again only to find that they would be powerless to free it from the dominion currently imposed upon it and its good people.
Whatever the true kernal of these fears they seemed to multiply exponentionaly as they strode towards the Clan Mason shuttle docks to meet Seeker Liam Silver-Diamondscale as instructed.
In a stark contrast to her internal struggle and fears the Clan Mason people around her seemed to have an air of confidence and albeit quiet sense of determination about them.
As she glanced at the oddly exotic and asthetically pleasing face of Seeker Markus his eyes seemed to glimmer with an inner fire, hell even little Lucious seemed to be filled with fire which seemed to shine brightly from both his eyes and his constantly shifting feathers.
The little Raptorian male noticed her glancing at him and he flashed her a very toothy smile but he also seemed to notice and acuratly read her aprehension written on her face and in her purple eyes.
"Don't you worry Adesus Clan Mason and its allies will get your home back just you wait and see and after we've kicked those fuckers off its soil we'll help your people to be whole again, its what we do!" he chripped happily which actually made her feel more at ease.
When she turned back she found Markus now looking at her and he gave her a deep and confident smile before gently placing a hand on her shoulder and squeezing it through her armour which made her quills rattle, but not in an unpleasent manner.
"He's not wrong and if its the numbers thats got you worried don't be, Clan Mason is made to punch far above our weight what we lack in sheer numbers we make up for in fire power and punch, just wait until you see with the Grand Matriarch or Patriarch in action all your fears will evaporate in an instant trust me and this time we ain't alone," he said gesturing to where Seeker Silver-Diamondscale was stood waiting for them.
Stood with him were four Serpentinus females and they all seemed to be fussing over him indicating that they had some kind of intimate relationship, mated possibly?
"Ahh here come's my team now, Celia will you stop fussing please? I'm going to be fine honestly," Liam said first gesturing to the approaching team and then to a rather large Serpentinus female who seemed to be fussing over his armour and checking it was sealed properly.
"Sorry our love I just can't help but worry so when you go out to battle, I wish I could be there at your side ready to slither at our enemies," the large Serpentinus female said and the other three with her all seemed to nod together in agreement.
Liam drew the four of them into a tight group hug, "Don't you worry yourselves my beloved ones, I'm coming back to you and I always will until the day the Eternal Huntress and the Great Tree call us all home," he said softly.
The four emotional Serpentinus females were seemingly not content with simple human style hug and sintantly wrapped themselves around him into a large living knot which pulsed and rippled with shifting scales and colours, all while Liam's muffled voice could be heard from somewhere among the shifting coils.
When they finally relented into releasing him the four of them slithered off stopping only to pay greeting to the team as they passed them by.
"Sorry about that guys part of the joys of loving a Serpantinus pack is four times the emotional termoil," Liam said straightening his armour.
"Never apologise for publicly loving your pack Seeker it does you honour as a male that you are not ashamed to express your love for them, it's an ideal every male Raptorian aspires to, we are never ashamed to love our pride wherever we may be," Lusious said proudly.
"Yes well the Grand Patriarch and Matriarch have summoned us, you have all been assigned to the GMF for this one," Liam said.
"The GMF!? Oh yes! Fucking sweet!!" Lucious exclaimed punching the air excitedly and doing a little hopping jig from foot to foot.
"What's the GMF?" Feris asked curiously looking at him.
"Only the pride of the Clan Mason Navy, it's full name is the Grand Matriarch's Fury because when the science hive constructed it Matriarch Sela eleth Mason joked that it hit like her matriarch when she hit's her hand with the Grand Patriarch's anvil hammer and loses her temper, so Grand Matriarch's Fury, it's a Dreadnaught class battleship one of eight that the Clan now possess," Lucious said proudly.
"Ok so i get the name but what makes the ship so special?" Adesus asked.
"Each one of them is capapble of killing a planet completly and I don't just mean all life on the surface I mean the entire planet itself, it's main gun is capapble of blowing off the planet's crust to the point where it can spilt the whole thing in two with a follow up shot, so if one of them can do that imagine all eight of them firing on the same place," Markus said and Adesus looked at him like he'd gone crazy, surly no being had enough firepower to destroy an entire planet like that?
But then the thought instantly slapped her that Adem of Clan Ruara had already done that very act to the Beledon homeworld.
"Alright guys lets get on board the Grand Patriarch is waiting to brief us when we get to the GMF," Liam said gesturing to the nearby shuttle what was waiting patiantly on the pad nearby.
The flight was a short one from the planet's surface up to the massive space docks that orbited the planet and thats when Adesus first caught sight of the behemoth space ships that Lucious had refered to as a Dreadnaught and they seriously lived up to their name.
The eight truly massive warships looked like giant black arrowheads hanging in space connected to a station by a series of collapsible gantries that kinda made it look like a giant spider with its legs all streched out.
Around them other ships buzzed about going to and from the massive ships as they transfered supplies and personell aboard them, it kinda reminded Adesus of watching the flicker bees going to and from their hives to collect pollen.
Markus seemed to notice her intrest and he moved up close to her to peer out of the porthole as well.
"From the left they are The Queen's Retribution, King's Vengence, Hunter's Mercy, Saviour's Sheild, Pride of the Hive, Spear of Paya, Thorn of the Great Tree and the Grand Matriarch's Fury," he said poitning to each of the mammorth ship's in turn.
"They must have taken a truly collosal ammount of resourses and time to build, I'm gentuinly surprised your planet is not hollow given the sheer amount of metal in those craft," Feris exclaimed her head appearing on Adesus's left and sandwhiching her in the middle between them.
"Actually not a single ounce of material used in their construction came out of the ground, while our planet is mineral rich we take grade strides to ensure it remains that way, no these days Clan Mason mine mineral rich asteroids and dead planets within our territory for minerals, we also trade with the Serpentinus and Raptorians, as for the time in construction its not as long as you'd belive, especially when you have a hive of super smart Xenos in charge of it," Markus said as Levi puffed out her chest proudly.
"Their construction is a testement to what good Xenos can achive when we are give the chance to flourish, a notion my own queen seeks to prove for Clan Mason's intervention on our behalf, now we will strive to make that debt paid in full," Levi said.
As Adesus marveled at the technological miricles floating around the planet the shuttle dipped it's nose and began it's decent into the cavonous hanger bay of the GMF.
To Adesus's amazement the hanger itself was open to the vacum of space with what appeared to be a series of glimmering walls of pure energy that kind of reminded her of trying to look at somthing through a waterfall keeping the air inside.
As they passed through the field they were directed to landing pad where the ship set down with a slight bump before the engines audiably wound down before powering off completly leaving them with only the noises of the hanger bay bleeding through the hull.
"Alright people up and at em lets not keep the Grand Patriarch wating," Liam said getting to his feet and heading towards the hatch which he lowered with a single button press.
The hanger itself kinda reminded Adesus of the Xeno hive they had wandered through eariler, though not because the walls and floor were made of organic polymer resin though there was a fair bit of that present in some of the ship's compornents, though a lot more thouraly molded and shaped here.
No it was because of the sheer ammount of activity that was taking place everywhere she looked, there were Xenos, Humans, Yautja, Raptorians, Serpentinus and Beledon everywhere she looked.
Some were sorking on and fixing things while others were blatently soldiers of one of the major secitions of the Guardian core unlaoding and heading on to their assigned quarters ready for deployment.
There was a real sense of purpose and determination here and to be fair itfelt kinda infectious and also quite humbling.
All these different people all working together with the singular purpose of heading out to free her people felt like a massive weight pressing down on her and Markus seemed to notice as tey followed Liam across the massive bay.
"Don't sweat it Adesus this is what Clan Mason was set up to do, this is exactly what the Grand Patriarch and Matriarch had in mind when they founded it all those years ago, to be a force for good in the universe and to protect those who need it, today that's your people and we do it happily," he said making her heart flutter at his kind and selfless words, it was a truly warming experience to see that not only her and the guardians belived in these principles, there was a whole Clan of very different people who did also.
After what felt like a marathon walk and a few elevator rides they finally reached the bridge of the collosal warship where they found Jack Mason and Tik eleth Mason both now dressed in their armour as they stood before a large holographic glactic map.
Stood with them were both of their children Ryan Mason and Sela eleth Mason though both of them were in holographic form which indicated they were currently elsewhere.
"Ahh here they are right on time, lets take this to the breifing room, captin you have the bridge," Jack mason said to a large Xenomorph female who saluted them both crisply.
"Yes Grand Patriarch," she said as both holograms flickered out and Jack as well as Tik led them through into a large circular room just off the bridge.
"Please take a seat everyone," Jack Mason said gesturing to the seat all around the table before both he and Tik took their places at the head of the table though Adesus did notice that Jack did take the time to pull out Tik's chair for her.
Adesus picked the seat next to Markus and Feris sat next to Lucious, "Ok here's the long and short of it we've gotten both the Raptorian and well as the Serpentinus to agree to support us in this conflict so this is going to be a joint venture between all three of us, both are supplying both ships and troops but we all feel more intel is going to be required before we commit to a plan of action to retake the planet," Jack Mason said.
"We will meet our allies in this star system here which we belive should be safely outside of Velon scanning range ortheir patrol range, this will give us a chance to gather our strength and prepare," Tik eleth Mason said pressing a button which made a large hologram of what appeared to be a binary star system appear in the centre of the table.
Adesus instantly recognised the stars, it was the twins.
"Once our forces are assembled we will launch a series of stealth probes which will infiltrate the system from one of our stealth crusisers which will jump into the system at it's very furthest edge deploy them and jump out before it is detected, these will give us detail scan of what kind of resistance we will face upon entry to the system and what we will have to fight through to reach the planet," Jack Mason explained.
"But it is felt we will need detailed ground based intelligence atop of what these probes can gather, with that in mind we have decided that both of you would be good choices as you are locals and know the terrain and people, so with that in mind we are going to form an infiltration team made up of the team you see around you as well as Seeker Silver-Diamondscale, it will be your task to make planet fall and to get us every shred of usable intel you can, vital targets, troop deployments, movement, strengths, anything really, it will also be your job to find out if there is any kind of local resistance and if so to make contact and help rally them," Tik eleth Mason said bringing up an image that made Adesus's heart ache, it was Velona, her home.
"You can count on us Grand Matriarch and Patriarch we won't let you down right guys!?" Lucious chirped confidently reffling his feathers while he balled his little fist confidently.
Both of them smiled at him warmly, "It is good to see you fired up young one but we need to caution you, this will be a complete stealth mission, it is imperitive that you pass undetected until the time is right as you won't have the support of the Clan down there, that having been said any targets of oppurtunity you come across should be either hit or marked ready for strikes," Jack Mason said.
"We'll get it done Grand Patriarch," Liam said.
"This will also be a test bed for this unconventional team make up, until now we have only used teams comprised of one group or another and simply attached them together but we feel that having you all together like this may very well be incredibly benificial and could become the basis of further special operations, we are also going to assign you a Battle Angel just incase things go awry before the Clan can intervene, Verris will you join us please?" Tik eleth Mason said while tapping her wrist comp.
The door opened and in stepped a male Xenomorph dressed in the easily recognisable pink and white armour of the battle Angels, he swept his domed head from left to right taking in the whole team before him before saluting the Grand Matriarch and Patriarch.
"Please sit and meet your new team Verris I take it your king and queen have breifed you?" Jack Mason asked.
"Yes Grand Patriarch and you can count on mself and my hive we will not let you down," he said taking the seat on the end of the row.
"They never have and I know they never will, ok this is how it's going to work, you will take a specially modified Runner class scout ship into the system once the probe's intel has been analysed and we can see any weaknesses, you will use it's stealth systems to slip past any forces in orbit and find a quiet spot on the planet away from any population hubs or military outposts to make landfall, once down there you will begin to gather intel which you will use the specially modified comms systems aboatrd the Runner to send back to us, the crusier that drops off the probes will also be dropping a cloaked quantum satalite at the edge of the system out of sight so that comms are sped up to near real time," Jack Mason explained using various holograms to explain the plan.
"My beloved husband has already factored what both Adesus and Feris saw on the day of the invasion into our plans and we are operating on the assumption that this Adem and his Clan Ruara have used the time they have had since your escape to not only strengthen their grip on the world but to bolster its defences as well as its fighting forces, he knows us and knows our tactics, he will be expecting us to come though I doubt he will be expecting it quite so soon and we will be using that to our advantage, but we will not be taking any chances only a pauking fool rushes in unprepared and Clan Mason are no pauking fools," Tik eleth said with fire in her voice.
Ryan Mason turned to look at Markus, "You will be in charge of the ground team Seeker and this is the first time a Tamer has led an operation of this importance, I cannot stress enough the importance of the success of this, the fate of billions of people will be riding on your every decision so make them smart and do not be afraid to ask either the opinions or ideas of your team this is what they are there for," he said.
"I won't let you or the Clan down Patriarch Ryan," Markus said balling his fist and slamming it against his chest plates with a thud making Ryan Mason as well as the others nod their heads approvingly.
"The same goes for the rest of you as well, as I have said this is the first time we have fielded a mixed unit of this type especially in such circumstances so any imput or ideas before the kick off would be good this goes doubaly for our new friends," Jack said looking at both Feris and Adesus.
Adesus could feel the piercing gaze of the man boring right into her very soul, though eyes of his were sharper than any blade or quill and she could feel the power that radiated behind them like a barely contained fire that strained against his containement seeking a way to burst free and consume them all.
"If I may Grand patriarch are we taking vehicles or will this be an on foot op?" Levi asked and Jack Mason nodded approvingly at the question.
"The science hive had out fitted some surface skimmers for the task of possible long range travel but you will need to tune them for the magnetic fields of the planet to get them to work properly, the tools and modification equipment will be coming with you," he said.
"The greatest foe you will most likely face down there is a possible abundence of Nightmare Assassins and I'm sure i do not need to remind any of you of why they should not be treated lightly or casually, you are to avoid contact with them at all costs, identify strong holds that may contain them by all means but do not get close enough as to be detected this is why a Tamer was chosen for this as our psychic footprint and signature is far smaller than that of our Soul Knight bretheren allowing you a far better chance of remaining undetected, also i want you to remember your training use and trust in the nature of the planet, call it to you to aid and hide you," Ryan Mason said and markus nodded.
"Alright guys further details will be provided to you in the final briefing before your off, a suite has been set up for the team here on the GMF for you all," Jack Mason said before a large figure that was obviously a Xenomorph queen appeared in holographic form at the end of the table causing them all to look up.
"If you would be so kind as to send the team to see my children down in the mobile hive Grand Matriarch and Patriarch we have finished the new suits for our guests and my children have been itching to trial run our new Infiltrator rigs and i think my beloved king may just go deaf if they do not get the chance here," queen Citrus said making both Jack andd Tik chuckle.
"Of course queen Citrus we'll send them right down to the hive and tell your king his suffering is greatly appreciated," Jack said as the queen nodded her massive crested head and cut the feed.
"Well ladies and gents you heard the good queen head down to the mobile hive before you retire to your new suite for out fitting, dismissed," Jack said and all of the Clan leaders stood and saluted the team as they did the same.
"What is an Infiltrator rig?" Adesus asked as Markus led the team through the seemingly never ending corridors of the truly gigantic ship, infact more oftern than not they were riding in little monorial like train carridges that ran the length of the ship and even with them there still a hell of a lot of walking involved, this ship was more like a floating city.
"Dunno but if I had to hazard a guess I'd say a new type of armour, those genius Xenos are always coming up with some new tech for us to play with," he said with a shrug as they finally reached a large set of metalic blast doors though the second he opened them it was liek being right back in the science hive even down to the organic walls and floor.
Just like on the planet side hive there were Xenos on nearly every surface all screeching and hissing at one another as they argued about a variety or problems everything from math equasions to what type of screws to use it was the litteral definition of organised chaos.
Suddenly four of them wearing lab coats simmply materialised right infront of the team, "Ahh Seeker its good to see you! Please follow us," one of them said in a slightly femine but mechanical voice before they foudn themselves ushered into another room just off the main floor of the hive.
Inside the room were a series of work benches and cases that contained what appeared to be weapons and armour of some kind to Adesus but it all looked so incredibly futuristic that she could make much sense of it.
"I can't tell you how exited we are to be finally have the chance to be able to field test this equipment, we've been running trails on it for months and the results have been truely wonderful but now we finalyl get the chance to see it in action for the good of both the Clan and innocent people, oh this is a momentous day," one of the Xenos this one obviously a male said excitedly.
"Alright please remove your armour Seeker and step in here," another of them said steering Markus towards a large circular plinth at the centre of the room that shone with a blue light though Adesus couldn't see the source.
'Umm ok," Markus said sounding suddly a little unsure as he began to remove his outer armour leaving himself sttood in the skin tight bluck under suit which had the annoying effect of drawing Adesus's eyes like a pair of fleshy magnets as they ran over his musclature like it had been coated in oil.
As he stepped onto the plinth it hummed slightly and Adesus felt a magnetic field crackling between her quills, thanks to the unique properties of their blood Velons were far more sensitive to both electrical currents and magnetic fields than most species and even the most sutble shift was percivable to them.
Suddenly large armse with a multitiude of sensors decended from the celing and begant to circle Markus scanning him with what appeared to be a green laser.
"Please remain still Seeker," one of the Xenos said from her console so Markus did as he was told until the scanners had finished their task and they promptly returned to their housings.
"Alright measurments taken all looks good here we go," one of the Xenos said and suffenly more arms appeared and to Adesus's absolute amazment it began to construc the armour right before her eyes from its base components and as it finished each section it placed it onto a skelenton structure made of what looked like a metal and polymer alloy before clamping the finished parts to Markus's body leaving him encased in a much sleeker suit than before that was completly matte black in its apperence.
Once the assembly was complete markus stepped down off the plinth and he lifted his hands and flexed his now encased fingers while looking at them through a visor which competly hid his handsome face from view.
"Feels good guys so whats so special about this new suit?" he asked instantly seeming to notice that his voice was distorted now.
"Well the Grand Patriarch and Matriarch felt that it would be prudent to have armour and weapons that tailored to deep cover operations, so may we introduce the Infiltrator XS Mark five, this suit contains our very latest stealth technology, dual cloaking systems using both light bending technology taken from our latest varients of the Yautja system for high speed movement as well as active camoflauge systems for low power loitering, go ahead give it a try," one of the Xenos said and markus shrugged before vanishing from sight.
Try as she might Adesus could not see him but she did notice she could feel him, there was an electrical current running through that cloak and it made her blood fizz and when he drew closer to her it amplified causing her to reach out and touch him.
"Well now that's intresting, you saw through it," one of the Xenos said in alarm as Markus decloaked and Adesus found herself stood there with her hand planted squarly on Markus's broad chest.
'I didn't see him i felt him, this technology uses a a powerful electrical and magnetic field and my species are sensitive to these thanks to the elements in our blood," she said.
One of the Xenos instantly appeared next to her and began running a scanner around her which made her quills rattle in alarm.
'Fascinating! Simply fascinating i wonder if the same is true of the active camo, Seeker if you would please?" she said and Markus nodded before activating the system which caused him to fade from sight once more though this time she felt nothing.
"Do you feel him?" the Xeno asked still scanning her with a tool of some kind that kinda remeinded her of an egg whisk.
"No nothing if I were not touching him I'd have no idea he was here," Adesus said alarming herself at the implcation of those words.
"Excellent! Now the difference between these systems is quite distinct, the active camo system is for long term concelment, it uses a low power system and a series of cameras as well as sensors to simply adapt the suits outer skin to mirror its surroundings, if you move it will change but the faster you move it will turn you into a moving shimmer, the same is not true of the light bending system, we have now perfected that to the point that even a Seeker that can move as fast as the Grand Patriarch cannot out pace it," one of the Xenos said proudly.
Markus reappeared and Adesus noticed that her hand was stil planted squarely on his broad chest which when he looked down she pulled back rattling her quills in embaressment.
The Xenos spent the next hour taking the team through a run down of the suit's new system all of which were completly alien to Adesus and Feris but seemed to highly impress their new friends, the whole principle of them seemed to be long term concelment and getting into and out of places while remaining completly undetecred.
It had everything from impact cusioning soles in the boots to silence their footfalls down to soundless servos designed to allow them to make powered movements without a sound, the suit itself was also a completly sealed evviroment whci left no trace on any surface it touched, so no sound, no scent, no trace.
So while Adesus and Feris watched each one of the team stepped into the machine and were out fitted with a suit of their own that appeared to be constructed right there for them and only them, made to measure and locked to their biology as well as their brainwaves making it totally useless to anyone else and in the words of the Xenos comepelty uncrackable.
"Ok and now for our guests, the Grand Patriarch and Matriararch have cleared you to recive and use our weapons and armour and have instructed us to outfit you accordingly, so if you'll please go into the changing room and remove your clothing and apply an under suit each and down't worry your quills have been taken into account," one of the Xenos said and Adesus looked at her in alarm.
'Wait what now?" she exclaimed.
"Ahh looks like I get to see you in a little black dress after all i was getting curious you know," Markus said jokingly which made Adesus flush as he smiled at her.
"Don't worry its quite painless I assure you," one of the others said and before either of them could protest she ushered them into a changing room where they were stripped of their clothing and handed a pair of very tight and form fitting black thermal suits which Adesus felt she was goign to have to paint on to get into.
But as it turned out the suit was remearkably easy to get on and off as well as remarkabley form flattering, though she could feel her quills trying to rattle like crazy as she stepped out infront of the others and more so as she saw Markus look at her.
His eyes went wide and she saw them dance up and down her before a smile broke out on his face though this one was not mirthful, it was warm and genuine.
"Wow," he said and then blushed bright red as if he hadn't actually meant to say it out loud which actually made Adesus feel incredibly happy though before she'd had chance to try and even chace the intrusive thoughts that came with it she was ushered onto the plinth.
"Ok Guardian please remain as still as possible while we scan you," one of the Xeno said before the miltitude of metal arms decended and began to run the green laser all over her which seemed to highlight every single curve of her body, all the while she could see Markus's eyes following them cloesly.
Onc the scan was done the arms vansished only to be replaced by others which began to construct and then apply the armour parts to her body while two of them lifted her lightly off the ground to apply boots to her feet.
In mere moments the process was complete and she was encased in a very claustorphobic case of metal and flexible polymer that felt both heavy and light at the same time.
That was until the thing powered up and then it was like the whole thing simply vanished, where he vision had been nothing more than a little slit before her eyes now her entire field of vision was completly unobstructed, for a moment this alarmed her and she actually reached up to check that she was still wearing her helmet.
"Don't be alarmed guardian that is simply the suit's smart heads up display, its designed to give you a completly unobstructed field of vision, it uses a series of wide angle cameras and sensors to overlay onto your helemt interior which tricks your brain into beliving that you have an unobstucted field of view," one of the Xenos said proudly.
"This is incredible and wait...how do I feel so light suddenly?" she said bouncing on her feet slightly.
"Thats the active power assisted movment, it apmplifies every single movement you make by monitoring the electrical impulses sent from your brain to your muscles and responding apropratly, this will amplify your strength and speed greatly so please be aware of this," one of the other Xenos said with a cautionary tone to her voice.
"Yeah don't go slapping someones ass with that thing on your you miight accidently slap it right off them," Markus said jokingly and making Adesus snort a laugh before flushing under the suit.
"Oh here before I forget given what you can do with a staff felt you might appreciate this," Markus said handing her and odd looking hilt with two small blades at either end which felt surprisngly heavy for its size.
"What's this?' she asked looking at the alien scrips that ran down the ornate hilt.
"Squeeze the hilt in the centre," Markus said with a conspiritonal note to his voice so she did what he asked and suddenly both sides of the hilt shot outwards to form a much larger staff with two very evil looking blades at either end in a claw shape.
"This is a Yautja war staff but after our little bout i decided you might appreciate one of these so I ordered one from the armoury for you, I was going to give it to you to practise with but when we got the call to arms I had it sent up here," he said with a warm almost bashful note to his voice.
Adesus did not know what to say, she wondered if the principle of giving a member of the opposite sex a gift had the same connetations in his culture as it did in hers?
But either way she greatly appreciated it, "Thank you Markus I be sure to put it to good use removing the enemies of my people from my world," she said and he nodded.
"Gald to hear it, here let me show you how to collapse it and stow it," he said reaching up and showing her how to hit the hidden release which collapsed it back into its carry mode before taking it from ehr hands and reaching around her back to clip it to her hips just above her tail root.
As she felt his hands move onto her hips Adesus felt a powerful urge to step into him but also to knock his feet from under him before pouncing on him which made her brain fizz in alarm, where were these feelings coming from all the time, he was an alien!?
"Alright guys lets get your weapins sorted and then we're good to go, so please follow us," one of the Xenos said and with that they were led into another room that was filled from celing to floor with racks upon racks of strange looking weapons, this was going to cook Adesus's brain she could already tell.
It took three solid hours of intense training for both Feris and Adesus to get the hang of using Clan Mason weaponry though thankfully Markus was a fantasic trainer, he was patient and took his time with showing them the best ways to utalise the weapons, he even made a point of studying how each of them performed before adapting their weapons to better suit them, like Feris seemed to struggle with a larger rifle system so he fitted her with a small SMG platform which she took to almost instantly.
Though the two things that scared and impressed Adesus the most were the shoulder mounted plasma casters that could launch leathal bolts of searing hot plasma gas at a target with incredible accurecy with nothing more than a thought, then there were the smart discs.
These things were absolutly incredible and when she saw Markus throw one into the training room only for it to weave in and out of all the training dummies and return to his hand without hitting a single thing she felt her mouth fall open, such a weapon had incredible applications when targeting a hostile in a crowd of innocents.
Once they were done and markus was happy they were proficient the group returned to their suite to rest, all was left now was to wait until they were deployed, Adesus hated waiting but what else could she do?
