6 Week's Later

Hermione's POV
"Mum, the last of my things are ready to go to the car." I called down the stairs to my parents, today was the day. First day back at Hogwarts since the final battle, Professor McGonagall had taken the role as Headmistress and things were looking up now. Well, most things. My mum and dad came to collect the rest of my things and I hurried into the bathroom to take one final look. "Relax, it can't be true." I opened the drawer where I had hidden the pregnancy test and pulled it out. 'Pregnant' was clear across the screen, there was no doubting it. I was pregnant with Harry Potter's child. While still dating Ron, he was trying, more like overcompensating for his past discretions. Harry was not speaking to me much, or anyone really, he had shut both Ron and I out, blaming a fight he had with Ginny and not speaking much else. We had to talk; we could not avoid it now.

Once on platform 9 ¾ and goodbyes had been made, I found Harry on the train. "Where is Ron?" I asked carefully, shutting the door.

"He went a day earlier, said he needed to make sure everything was right for the new couples' dorms, I assume you two will be sharing one." Harry spoke without ever looking up at me.

"I highly doubt it." I scoffed. "What do you mean? Isn't that what you want to be with him? You used me and now you are with him, Hermione. You choose him." Harry was angry that much was obvious.

"Harry, please listen to me. I must tell you something." I pleaded with him sitting in front of him "Please be my best friend for just a moment."

That got him. He looked up at me, tears in his bright green eyes. I could only hope our child inherits those eyes. "I am listening." He was defeated, you could tell.

"Harry, remember 6 weeks ago before Ron came home and we…" My voice trailed off; it was hard to speak about the best moment in my life when I was still with Ron. "Yes, I remember. I think about it all the time." Harry sighed.

"Harry, I am pregnant." I told him and watched the color drain from Harry's face, as much as the first time we were attacked by dementors on this very train. "Is it Ron's?" he asked bitterly.

"No, stupid. Ron and I have never slept together. It is yours." I was almost offended by his question but quickly realized he would not have known, and it was a fair question to ask. I allowed the silence to take hold in the room. The rest of the train ride was silent. It was moments from arriving when I finally spoke. "I will be expelled you know. It is not allowed at Hogwarts, I will be seen as unfit, so once people know I will be going back home. Just a filthy mudblood, like Draco always said." The train came to a stop, and I stood to gather my belongings. "Hermione, don't ever call yourself that." Harry grabbed my arm "I won't tell anyone, but you need to tell Ron."

I knew I did but I was afraid. Ron, while seemingly harmless he could get very aggressive. I was afraid this would tip him over the edge. Immediately off the train an overanxious Ron greeted me. "Baby!" He hugged me tight, it felt so forced. Harry got off behind me and hurried to Gryffindor common room away from us. "Hermione are you okay? You seem a bit ill?" Ron nudged me "Should I take you to the hospital wing?"

"No, Ronald. I am fine, just for a bit motion sick on the train is all." I hurried to catch up with the group. We went through the evening as normal, the sorting ceremony and welcomed all our new Gryffindor, Ron took Percy's place as the head student of Gryffindor's house and oversaw showing around all the first years. While he was occupied, I took that time to find Harry, however I ended up finding only Headmistress McGonagall.

"Miss. Granger, just the witch I wanted to see." I froze in my tracks. "Yes Headmistress, how may I help you?" I stuttered out "Come to my office please." She had taken Dumbledore's old office and it felt very similar to when he was alive, she had done everything to keep his memory alive within the school. Including making Aberforth Dumbledore the Hogwarts Caretaker after Mr. Filch chose to retire. "Sherbert Lemon." The door to the office opened and we headed up the staircase together.

"Headmistress, might I ask what it is you need from me?" I asked once inside the safety of her office. "Miss. Granger, as you may be aware the Headmistress of Hogwarts is gifted with certain abilities. One of which show's prophecies." She paused, thinking through her next words carefully. "That child you are carrying is going to be one of the most powerful wizards that ever lived. With the knowledge from their mother and the greatness of their father, you should be warned that great power can be extremely dangerous. Especially if the wrong person were to find out." McGonagall looked at me "If anyone from Slytherin were to find out the power your child will possess they will kill them, and possibly you."

"Headmistress…I know that this type of behavior is banned at Hogwarts, I was planning to leave I just…I needed to tell…" she interrupted me "You must not tell a soul other than Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley, even so do it carefully." She warned me.

"Harry knows, but he does not understand why I have not told Ronald. I do care for him professor, but I love Harry and Ron can become quite aggressive when he is angry."

The Headmistress hugged me and told me all would be well and sent me on my way. She sent me to tell Ron.

Ron's POV

There was a knock on mine and Harry's door, I tried to get Hermione and I a shared dorm, but the headmistress halted it for some reason. "Ugh. Not more first years." I grumbled to Harry who sat on his bed reading something. "You wanted to be Head student, keep that in mind." Harry grunted.

I flung the door open quite annoyed, only to see Hermione looking increasingly ill but the hour. "That's it we are going to the hospital wing." I rolled my eyes irritated that she had lied to me.

"Ron, I need to speak with you, now." She pushed me back into the dorm room and shut the door. "Well then maybe Harry should leave." I winked at him thinking this could be the first time for Hermione and I. "No, Harry may stay." She said as Harry went to leave. "Hermione it is better if I go." Harry said quietly "I do not wish for you to leave. Please stay." she demanded.

I sat down on my bed quite confused by this whole thing. "Muffliato" Hermione flicked her wand casting a spell to keep unwanted ears from hearing our words. "Ronald, listen to me, this is going to be near impossible for me to say. I slept with someone, and I am pregnant by them. However, no one must know, it is prophesied that Slytherin would kill the child. However, Ronald, ever since you walked out on me…on us," she gestured toward Harry "before the final battle things have not been the same. You have not been the same. I know that you know that deep down." She stopped talking for just a moment, enough for me to stand and begin pacing. I glanced at Harry who had his eyes glued to the floor, seeming less taken back by Hermione's words. "Harry…" I growled "Did you know?"

"Ronald, this isn't about him, it is about us." Hermione pleaded.

"Who did you sleep with?" I asked through gritted teeth. My anger was welling up and I slammed my fist on the wall near Hermione's head. She shrieked out in fear just like the first time we had a fight. I pulled my wand out ready to cast at her. "Leave her alone! Expelliarmus!" Harry cast at me disarming me.

"You, both of you…you betrayed me." I flung myself at Hermione ready to break something. Harry hurled himself in front of her and landed smack where my fist was, right in the nose. After that I hurried and left the room heading straight for the Headmistress's office. She had to know.
