Earth-S
John Constantine was out drinking as he is usually, but tonight was something different. His dreams which are usually filled with nightmares of demons and his past failures are replaced.
He sees nothing but old relics from his past in a weed field when he notices something approaching as the bushes are being pushed aside.
But instead of something hitting him, John watches as the field is being crushed by something as it becomes a shape of a triangle, followed by a top hat, with arms and legs.
Then there was a laugh that started quietly, and it began to grow louder.
"I know that bloody laugh anywhere," John whispers to himself. "Show yourself, you demon!" He shouts to thin air when a blinding light comes in behind him and he turns to come face to face with Bill Cipher.
"Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well," Bill says as he multiplies himself into copies that all surround John before beginning to spin. "Aren't you a sight for a sore eye? John Constantine, my old pal."
"Bill bloomy Cipher." John sighs in annoyance. "What the hell do you want from me?"
"Oh, quit playing dumb, Master of the Dark Arts." One of the Bill says as they put an arm around his shoulder.
"You knew I'd be back." Another one of them says as they mess with his hair and John gets even more annoyed as Bill begins fixing his tie. "You think sending me to Hell would stop me?" He asks before turning into one big Bill.
"I've been making deals, chatting with old friends, preparing for the big day. You can't keep your reality safe forever, and now there's a hundred of them to choose from with the collision of realities."
"You have no power in this reality! You will not be able to bring any harm to anyone in this domain." John promises as he then begins to use the same spell that he concocted the first time to get rid of Bill.
"I may not have a foothold right now, but things change, Constantine," Bill promises him as a portal begins to pull Bill in. "Things change..." He then gets sucked into the portal and John sees various flashes of different heroes, Peter-616, Harrison Wells, Chris, Eli, Ava, Peter-2, Barry-S, and on and on, all of them in different forms of danger in the craziest of forms.
John then gasps awake and looks to see that everything was as he left it.
But this is only the beginning.
He's coming.
Secret Wars II
The Rise of Cypher
Earth-616
Peter Parker-Coulson was sweating with fear, and his entire body shook. This was the biggest challenge of his career. He trembled as he tried to accomplish this difficult task at hand.
"Agent S, Director of the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division. Humanity's shield. The man who faced off with the Mad Titan Thanos, defeated the Green Goblin several times, stopped the Anti-Monitor from destroying the multiverse, defeated the Batman Who Laughs, has finally...met his match. A dirty diaper." MJ mocked her husband from the rocking chair.
Peter rolled his eyes at his wife's comment as he finally managed to get the diaper off and was seriously cursing his enhanced sense of smell due to the stench.
"What do you think? Should I call the Daily Bugle?" asked MJ.
"Eh, I don't think we need the government thinking I can't handle universal threats right now, considering they're all still a little trigger-happy for my job due to the whole Battleworld and Secret Warriors thing I pulled," Peter reminded her as he finished placing the diaper on their two-week-old daughter, Anna-May "Annie" Parker.
MJ mocks, "If only the Avengers could see their fearless leader struggling with spit-up."
"Need I remind you, Miss Jones, I have super senses that make dogs jealous?" Peter reminded her as he finished placing the new diaper on the child.
"Oh, don't you go blaming genetics," MJ dared him as Peter finished wrapping Annie up in a blanket and picked her up. "Yay, Daddy did it."
"Yeah, kind of," Peter shrugs and walks over to MJ, who gets off the chair and they both look down at their little girl. "She really does have your eyes and hair."
"Yeah, but I can definitely see a lot of her daddy in her," MJ stated as the little girl cooed at them both.
"We should have just called her Mary because she's practically perfect in every way," Peter joked, causing MJ to smack her husband for the lame pun. However, Annie seemed to enjoy it as she giggled at their interaction. "And she has your sense of humor," he added.
"I'll take it," MJ joked, causing Peter to laugh.
That was when they heard someone crying from the other crib in the room.
"I'll take this one," she promised and went to go take care of their younger twin, May "Maybelle" Parker.
After they were able to get her down, Peter sat back in a chair in their living room. MJ took the girls out shortly after and left Peter alone for the first time since the kids were born.
The recent events surrounding Battleworld had taken a toll on him, both from the government and then the babies, it's been a lot after a lot. He had his limits tested and had exhausted himself trying to figure out a way to prevent another "Secret War" as some of the New Avengers called it.
When Peter reopened his eyes, he found himself floating in a starry void where books and relics floated all around him. He stood up and saw he wasn't affected by whatever was going on and was trying to put together what was going on.
Well, well, well," a voice said from behind him. "If it isn't the young Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Peter Parker-Coulson."
Peter turned and saw a golden triangle with black arms and legs and a bow tie and top hat sitting on a chair with a small cup of tea. If he hadn't dealt with odder things in his life, he would have been inclined to say that this was a strange moment.
"I've gotta say I've been dying to meet you! Come take a seat and have a cup of what is probably tea," Cipher says as Peter just stares at the odd creature floating around in front of him with amazement. It seems to be 2D yet exists in the 3D space. "It's the one-eye thing, isn't it?" The creature says before laughing, "I'm kidding. I'm kidding. The name's Bill Cypher, but you can call me the answer to your prayers."
"What?" Peter finally found his voice again, not following what this thing is saying.
Listen, kid, I've been watching you for quite a while now, and I have to say I'm impressed. So, I figured I'd give you a helping hand. Maybe you would feel a bit more comfortable on your own turf; I understand.
Bill snapped his fingers, and the two appeared in Peter's office in the Triskellion. Everything seemed normal, except for the fact that everything was in black and white.
Peter inquired, "What is this place?"
Bill answered cryptically, "We're in your office." A cup of tea manifested in both of their hands, followed by a pot of tea. "Unfortunately, I can't yet gain physical form, so we're in the realm of the mind kid."
"What do you want?" Peter asked as the pot was pouring itself into the cups.
"I want to help you out kid," Bill said as he summoned a cane and spun it around in his hand, "I want to help you make sure that your world is allowed to maintain the freedom it loves and continue to survive. All I ask for is that you help me regain my physical form. I lost after some bozo attacked me and banished me to the darkest pits of Hell because I wouldn't obey his 'rules'." Bill outstretched his hand and it ignited with a blue flame. "So do we have a deal?"
Peter looked at his hand and was unsure whether or not he should proceed. However, Bill continued to urge him on.
"Come on kid, is your caution really worth the risk of your whole reality?" Bill asks.
Peter questioned, "Why should I believe anything that you say?"
"Oh, I get it. You're awfully inquisitive. Yet again, with the life you've had, I wouldn't blame you. But how about this? I'll give you a gift of good faith. How about a sneak peek into what's coming?" Bill suggests.
Peter looked intrigued by this and supposed it wouldn't hurt. He just needed to keep an eye on this freak. The environment suddenly changed as the office began to crack, shattering until there was nothing left, and it was all swept away in the dust.
Peter closed his eyes for a second, trying to block out the sudden light. When he opened them, he was met with a deserted wasteland, and then he took notice of the dozens of bodies and skulls that looked as if they had been pulled straight out of a Terminator movie.
Peter quickly ran around the area and was met with the corpses of all of his friends and loved ones. Not to mention the dozens of bodies from the other-dimensional heroes.
Quickly, Peter raced over to the nearest body, which in this case was Laura's. As he knelt and tried to feel for a heartbeat through her Adamantium-covered skeleton, it was met with her fleshless hand yanking up and grabbing his wrist.
"You could have saved us," Laura said, causing Peter to look afraid as her eyes melted through her head. "Why didn't you do more?"
Peter looks completely confused when he looked up and sees a gigantic creature coming out from a portal and recognized him from that brief moment on Battleworld. The monster towered over Peter as it revealed its gigantic bat-like wings and claw-like fingers.
"Dread it... run from it... I am... inevitable," the monster says, and a flash of light consumes Peter, watching as his entire world begins to decay and die.
Peter then suddenly found himself back in his office, facing Bill again.
"So, what do you say? Are you ready to make a deal?" Bill asked Peter, his palm outstretched and ready to shake.
Peter knew that it was best not to trust someone who promised him everything. But what he saw...he saw nothing but death. Was that what was going to happen?
"Tick-tock, kid," Bill says in an attempt to win him over.
Peter looked sternly toward the triangle and said, "No."
"Really?" Bill asked in surprise. "Hmm...guess I'll have to do this the old-fashioned way." He guessed, and suddenly the ground consumed Peter, sending him falling.
Once Peter stopped falling, he looked around and realized he was back in his own home. He had been dreaming about it. Quickly getting up, Peter poured himself some water and felt relieved as his headache subsided.
"MJ, are you still here?" Peter called out and received no answer. "She must have gone out," he thought to himself.
"Parker." A familiar voice echoed in Peter's mind as he turns around and met with Constantine.
"Constantine? What are you doing here?" Peter asked in shock.
"I was visited by an old demonic enemy of mine...A demon from Hell who escaped. I used a spell to follow him wherever he went and I ended up here," Constantine explained to him.
"Why? Who is he?" Peter wondered aloud.
"He's a dimensional being from Dimension-S," Constantine explains. "More than that, he comes from the Dark Multiverse. Even a hell like that can create beings like him."
"Wait, are you really here?" Peter asked.
"No, I'm with you here in the Dream Realm," Constantine says to him. "A small splinter of your mind that we can travel into with the right technique to enter."
"So that's how Bill knows about who I am." Peter realizes. "So, if this is all in my head, where am I really?"
"After you put your daughter down for a nap, your wife left you to rest as she took care of the other one, believing you'd been stressing yourself too thin lately. Bill took advantage of your weakened mental state and entered your mind. Normally, we would need the consent of the person to enter their mind, but your mind was already weakened from the gap left there years ago." Constantine explains.
"Agent H.," Peter recalled when HYDRA had brainwashed him. "But Wakanda removed all remnants of Agent H."
"But it ends up leaving a whole piece of your mind open to telepathic beings," Constantine explained it as best as he could. "Parker, whatever he does, whatever you do, do not make a deal with him. He will use it against you."
Peter asks in fear, "Is he trying to kill me?"
"Worse," Constantine says, his voice shaking with fear. "He wants to take control of all reality and pave the way for his master."
"Then he'll lose," said Peter sternly.
MJ came home just as she heard Maybelle crying and wondered if Peter was having trouble. Placing Annie's stroller in the living room, she started making her way towards the kitchen.
"Honey, did you need help putting her down?" MJ asked as she put the keys down on the shoe rack, getting a little concerned when she didn't get a response from Peter. "Loser," she tried using her infamous nickname which always gained a groan from him. But yet again, there was nothing. "Peter, you're starting to scare me."
Walking through their home, she came across Peter lying in the middle of the living room floor. Shrieking, she dropped to her knees and turned Peter over so that he was now facing her.
MJ called out as she smacked his cheek. "Peter? Wake up!"
Getting out her phone, she quickly contacted her friends back at S.H.I.E.L.D. "Hey, MJ. What's up?"
"I need a team here, now! Peter's unconscious and not responding," MJ cried into the phone as she tried to desperately wake him up.
Peter suddenly reawakened again, this time on the couch in the living room, and heard laughter coming from the dining area. He turned around to see the Avengers all together, eating.
Well, look who's awake," Sam Alexander, the current Nova officer of the team (they switch between him and Richard a lot), says and Peter notices he's still in his Nova outfit and his helmet was on the coat rack.
"Have a good nap, dude?" Kate Bishop asks with her leg crossed.
"Bishop, keep your feet off the table," MJ warned as she walked in carrying a sleepy-eyed Annie. "Peter, I've got you a plate right here." She gestured to a plate on the table and placed her daughter in a highchair next to Maybelle.
"These mashed potatoes are amazing," Morgan comments.
"Yes, I am definitely going to need a second helping of these beans," Anjelica added.
"Should you even be eating those?" Ned wondered. "I mean, your powers involve fire."
"I'm not Johnny Test," Anjelica promises, causing the table to laugh while Peter senses something is seriously off.
"Hey-hoo!" Bill Cipher cried as he suddenly appeared. "I'm going to order some pizza if anyone wants any. Sorry, too late!"
Peter jumps from his seat and notices everyone's food is made out of zombie-like rotten blood. His heart races as he starts panting and tries to get his mind under control.
"This isn't real, Peter. This isn't real. This isn't real." Peter repeatedly told himself. "I'm not going to give in."
"Peter, you misunderstand," Bill told him. "I'm just here to offer you a gift."
"What could you possibly have to offer?" Peter asks, just as all the Avengers drop their food and turn to face him.
"Everything."
Peter backed away and tripped, only to find himself in the labs of the Triskelion. Everything was destroyed. The world was in ruins. A gigantic crack in the sky could be seen in the distance, and people were screaming.
Peter's senses were constantly going off, and eventually, he dropped to his knees in agony from the screaming.
"Peter, you can't run away from your own mind," Bill says as he reappears and floats around Peter. "What do you say, kid? Are you ready to finally make a deal?"
"Go away!" Peter demanded, then tried to tackle Bill, only to end up colliding with him and disappearing.
Peter was rushed into the Medical Wing with the help of an entire S.H.I.E.L.D. SWAT Team at his side, reading his vitals. They all had no idea what was wrong with him, as his readings showed he was perfectly fine.
"We can't help him," Morgan said, feeling sorrowful as she tried her best to save her brother/father-like figure. "There's nothing here we can work on. This is...multi-dimensional stuff at work."
MJ then had an idea and quickly picked up the breaching device from off the table and ran to an opening in the room. Determined to save her husband, she opened the breach. She wasn't going to let her husband go just like that.
"Where are you going?" Ned asked his friend.
"To get him some help," MJ promised as she leapt through the breach.
Kamala wonders, "Where?" not knowing anyone who can help her in the entire universe.
Universe.
That's it.
EARTH PRIME:
Caitlin was humming as she was with Peter and looking down at their new little baby girl. Seems Peter was right, and he knew the gender before anyone else did. So, in honor of knowing the gender, Caitlin obliged and let him name her Mayday.
She had to admit the name was growing on her a little over time and kept going.
Peter walked up to her and saw she was in the nursery. "Is she still asleep?"
"She falls asleep faster than the twins." Caitlin had to admit it was a bit of a miracle.
"Ten months of peace." Peter had to admit that it was a miracle that they weren't dealing with any sort of emergency at this time. "This was perfect."
Then they got an alert going off on their watches, asking them to go to P.A.R.K.E.R. Industry.
"My fault," Peter confessed.
When they returned to the tower, they looked and saw Cisco was holding a gun to a breach that was opened. Barry was there and suited up with Ralph by his side, both of them ready to go at it.
"What is it?" Peter asked when he saw the portal. "Oh, boy."
"Yeah, figured you'd wanna be here for this," Cisco admitted. "Sorry to call you on leave."
"Don't worry about that, worry about the planet's safety," Peter stated as he got ready to fight.
"What is going on?" Ronnie wonders as Caitlin was keeping her baby girl close.
"Someone's coming through," Ralph warns them.
Then the figure reached the other side of the portal, landing on their hand and knees. That's when they got a good look at who came through the portal, and it was someone they all (almost) recognized.
"Michelle?" Barry asked in shock.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't know who else to turn to," Michelle said with tears as she walked over to them, talking a mile a minute. "But with everything happening, there wasn't anyone I could turn to, it-"
"Whoa, whoa, MJ, slow down," Peter said as he walked over and held her hand. "What's wrong?"
"It's Peter!" Michelle tells them in tears. "He's in trouble."
The team all looked to one another and knew that they were going to need to help their friend in need.
"Wait, there's another Peter?" Ronnie asks.
That got their attention when they looked back over at Ronnie. Cisco seemed the most confused as he looked between everyone. "Did nobody explain the multiverse to him? He's been back from the dead for a year, and nobody informed him of the multiverse?"
"Look, that doesn't matter right now, we gotta go help him. Summon the kids, tell them we need them." Peter Snow-Parker stated in worry as he looked at MJ. "Take us to him."
EARTH-616
Peter woke up, finding himself inside the Helicarrier with dozens of tombstones surrounding him. A faint fog and an eerie glow emanated from somewhere nearby, but he couldn't pinpoint its source.
Peter told himself, "This isn't real, Peter." He tried to remind himself as he saw some of the names. "None of this is real."
Gwen Stacy
Mary Fitzpatrick
Richard Parker
Antoine Tripplett
Tony Stark
Steve Rodgers
Victoria Hand
Oliver Queen

"These deaths are real," Bill stated, pointing at the tombstones. "All of your powers and you couldn't save any of them."
Peter kept walking around and came across a grave he never thought he'd see.
Ned Leeds
Michelle Jones-Parker

Eugene Thompson
Anjelica Jones
Deke Shaw
Daisy Johnson
Natasha Romanoff
Clint Barton
Samuel Alexander

There was even a sad and upset Lockheed curled up on the tombstone.

"Make a deal with me, and none of them will die," Bill promises just as he vanishes and Peter looks around for him.
Only for the room to suddenly go dark, and the only thing left was a door. Peter walked through the door and found himself back in the nursery room with Annie and Maybelle. Walking over to the crib, he noticed that May was there, looking a few months older than when he had last seen her.
"May," Peter whispers.
He then began to notice how her hair had grown out; her hazel or dark brown eye color inherited from her parents was still not fully settled in. He reached down to pick up the child and his hands went right through. And the second he touched her, her body began to rapidly decay, the room began to shatter, and her body began to transform into a baby's skeleton before finally being reduced to ash and blown away by the wind.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Peter cried in terror as he looked around to see the world in ruins once more.
"I'm not doing this," stated Bill as the world went dark. "All of this is coming from you. All of your roads lead back to the main event. You versus the biggest bad. You keep taunting me, shattering me. Your mind, your visions, your hatred."
Peter suddenly opened his eyes and found himself face-to-face with a zombie Symbiote Flash Thompson. "We all die because of you," the creature said.
Peter quickly turned around only to find MJ staring at him with half of her face missing; from her right eye to her left cheek, and even her neck was open and showing her spine. "You left us to die."
Peter tried to shake it off and spun around to face an elderly Annie, beaten and bruised with a twisted arm and a skeletal leg. "Your world will burn," she said.
"It doesn't have to end like this, Peter." Bill comes back floating in from a distance. "You can all live." He stated just as the world began to change again; a newspaper article appears that came from the Daily Bugle.
Secret Warriors Save Multiverse!
Dark Multiverse Defeated!
Accept my deal and you can do so much more," Bill says, and then snaps his fingers.
Peter found himself suddenly back at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, standing on a stage, surrounded by the Secret Warriors as the President gave a speech.
"Many responsibilities have fallen to me since I became President. This is one responsibility I am proud and honored to bestow upon you all as a small acknowledgement of the great debt this world owes to you all. Although most of your brave efforts will remain secret, know that whether you are mutant, metahumans or humans, masked or unmasked, each one of you has rightfully earned the name of Warrior. You are the multiverse's mightiest Warriors. It's Secret Warriors." The President said as the entire room of government officials erupted into applause, standing up and presenting the Warriors with medals.
Peter looked around, blinked, and somehow found himself back in his apartment. He heard the sounds of childish sound effects explosions and looked ahead of him to see that they were coming from a five-year-old Annie and Maybelle, who were acting out action scenes with their Next Avengers action figures.
Annie played with a Spider-Man action figure, acting as if he were swinging on webs, while Maybelle played with a Firestar action figure, pretending she flew through the air. Peter glanced at his side and saw MJ sitting beside him with a radiant smile on her face.
"This can all be yours, Peter," Bill interrupted his fantasy. "You just have to choose to make a deal." He held out his hand towards Peter, and Peter was beginning to feel tempted to take it...just as he vanished. "Oh, come on!"
That's when MJ returned and the rest of Team Spider-Man, the main Young Justice members, the SuperSpider duo, and the rest of the Avengers followed her, having seen Peter running ahead of them. Running over to check on him, they were all shocked at what they were seeing being done to him. Caitlin quickly handed over her daughter to Doreen, who accepted the kid in confusion.
"You guys popped out another one?" Doreen asked in shock as she looked over the baby. But then Mayday reached her hands out and cooed at the Squirrel Girl. "Aw! She's so cute!"
"Yikes, how many does that make it?" Kamala wonders.
"We're losing track between five and six," Tina admitted as she looked around. "Wow, this is new."
"Hi." Aster greeted everyone.
"Whoa, this is amazing," Ronnie said, waving at them. "Um, hi, I'm Ronnie Raymond. I'm a friend of Peter and Caitlin's, and I recently came back to life."
"Ignore him, it's his first crossover," Frost tells the girls.
"What's happened to him?" Barry asked as he ran over to Peter Parker-Coulson's side.
"We're not entirely sure," Flash Thompson said as he stood out of the way. "He came in this way."
"I just found him this way," MJ explained to them. "It's like someone is messing with his head."
Caitlin raced over and quickly tried to find out what was going on in Peter's mind. "His pupils aren't responding. I'm getting no sign of activity. Who's doing this to you, Peter?"
A dark portal then opened, and John Constantine stepped out of it with the answers. "His name is Bill Cypher."
Ava looked at the portal just as it closed, then back at John. "How did you know what we were talking about?"
"I've had a few visions recently, and last night Cipher came to me, talking about how he was coming here and I've been trying to help from my world," John said as he looked down at Peter-616. "But I needed to get a stronger connection, and I can maybe get him out."
"You want to enter his head?" Laura asks. "That doesn't sound like a good idea."
"No, no," said Ned. "If we hook you up to the FRAMEWORK, we might be able to put you both into a simulation where you can control the situation." Ned gave them a plausible solution.
Tommy asks, "What happens if we do this?"
"There's only a slight chance that if we do this wrong, he'll be stuck in his own mind," John said. "That would be the worst-case scenario. But I'm his best hope for getting out of there. Bill is going to mess with his mind. He'll plague his head with the darkest moments of his past, and then offer him a chance to stop them from happening again."
Caitlin looked to MJ for consent and saw that she was willing to do anything to save her husband. "Do what you need to do," said MJ.
Quickly setting it up, she activated the FRAMEWORK simulation and Morgan placed the helmet on top of Peter's head while Caitlin did the same for John. John closed his eyes, only to open them and start chanting in a language that sounded like ancient Latin. His hands began to burst into flames, and Peter's body started to glow, allowing Constantine to enter his mind.
Peter looks around and sees he's suddenly back in his S.H.I.E.L.D. office. Everything looks off, as if everything were slightly tilted, giving the impression everything was tilted over.
Constantine called out, "Parker!" Peter turned to see him standing in the middle of his office. Now that they had a stronger connection, Constantine could help him directly. "You need to be strong," Constantine said.
Peter dropped to his knees and felt his mind and body breaking.
"It's difficult and hard," he says. "I know." Constantine walks over and places a hand on his shoulder. "Cipher knows how to hurt someone in their mind, it took some time after gathering the others."
"Others?" Peter asks.
"The biggest brains of the multiverse brought together to save you," Constantine says, giving him some words of encouragement. "Cipher knows he can't hurt you physically, so he's going for a mental attack. He knows your weaknesses are the ones you love and is using them against you."
"Is it true?" Peter asked. "The future he showed?"
Constantine freezes and has no idea how to answer that. "I don't know." That sounded like a lie.
"Why?" Peter asks in pain. After everything he's suffered, he's now being warned of a dark future of terror. "I've saved the universe, saved the multiverse, saved reality and existence multiple times. I think that gives me some headway to know if Bill is showing me the future."
"Parker, what you saw could have been one of a million possible futures, as the Legends put it," Constantine tells him, trying to help him.
"I don't want that to be the world my children grow up in." Peter sighed and grabbed his head. "I can't keep fighting for something that keeps fighting against me, especially life. Why can't I keep my life? Why must I always be put through these tests? What haven't I done to prove I'm strong enough?"
"I don't have the answers for you," Constantine stated. "But everything that Cipher is offering you is a lie. He is using you."
"I know! That's what everyone's done my whole life!" Peter declared, and Constantine watched as the room grew darker. "Everyone has used me! S.H.I.E.L.D., HYDRA... I've been a pawn in everyone else's game, and I'm always the one who ends up suffering for it."
The doctors were watching over Peter's body and watched as his fever was getting worse. J'onn was starting to look through his mind to try and find who was doing this to him.
"Constantine?" J'onn asked, trying to locate where he is. "You there?"
"His temperatures rising," Ned warned them, looking over at the data. "We could really use some cold powers right now."
"No, if we do that, we could end up freezing his brain, trapping Constantine inside," J'onn warned them just as Barry sped into the room.
"Thank god, did you find Strange?" MJ asked him.
"Nothing. Wong told us he's currently keeping back some Dorbroma-whatever. Another being from the Dark Dimension. He's not going to be able to help until he gets back." Barry replied.
Cassie asked, "What about Madame Web?"
"We can't reach the Web of Reality. Something is blocking our connection." Peter-1 said, looking at his younger self. "Director Parker is on his own."
"After everything, I'm still treated like everyone else's pawn!" Peter-616 cried in anger and punched a mirror, shattering his reflection. "I didn't choose to be born different."
As Constantine watched the walls begin to crumble, he feared the worst.
"This was done to me! I didn't choose to be caught in the middle of a war between S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA. That was chosen for me." Peter cried out in pain and agony.
Constantine said calmly, "Parker, you're leading Bill right to us. You need to calm down. You're the only thing keeping him from shattering the connection to his world."
"Why me?!" Peter questioned. "Out of the thousands of Spider-Men, out of thousands of people, why is it always me?"
"Because you're the strongest," Bill said, causing the two to turn and see him standing there...well, floating there. "You are the center of the Web of Life. Your life is the most important out of all the Spider-Men in all of time and space. And now, you can finally choose your own destiny."
"Don't listen to him," said Constantine. "He wants to possess your knowledge and power, no matter the cost."
"Lies?" Peter asked. "All those headstones… those people are all dead because of my connection to them. How many times do I have to suffer for the universe? When is it someone else's turn?"
Peter's temperature continued to rise and caused everyone to look in fear since they don't know what was happening, but they know it was all up to Constantine.
Yeah, this isn't going to work.
"Parker, you need to step away from him," Constantine said, getting ready to fight Bill if he tried anything.
"Oh, why would he want to do that, Constantine?" Bill asked, spinning a cane in his hands. "I'm offering him the answers to the biggest questions in the universe for the smallest of payments. What have you offered him? When have you ever loved anyone?"
"Bill is twisting your mind. He's consuming your thoughts," Constantine tried to get through to him.
"You just want me to listen…listen like a good soldier," Peter snarls, and Constantine sees that he needs to make his move soon. "I've followed orders, and it got people killed. The woman I loved died because she loved me! My family died as punishment for having me!"
"HYDRA. Nick Fury. Phil Coulson. Tony Stark." Bill starts listing off. "All the people who you thought were helping you, you now see the truth. They've been using you." Then he holds his hand out towards Peter, and it bursts into flames. "Ready for that deal?"
Peter starts to reach for it, causing Constantine to finally make his move and throw a fireball at Bill, scorching his eye.
"Aw! My eye! Do you know how long it will take to regenerate?!" Bill cries.
"Long enough," Constantine stated as he looked at Peter. "Parker, trust me, whatever he offers, it's not worth the price. You will lose everything that you have and everything that you ever loved!"
Suddenly, Bill's eye grew back, and he grabbed onto Peter's hand. "Don't listen to him! It's all lies; I can offer you so much more!"
Constantine then began using his full force of magic to keep Bill back as he started to spread his spell throughout Peter's body. It became a fight between the two of them as they tried to wrestle control over the mind of Peter Parker.
"Only you have the power to stop all of this, Parker," Constantine told him.
"This time, it's all up to you," Bill replied.
Peter's mind began to fight itself, literally fighting back and forth between light and darkness. His mind was flooded with who he chose to be. The hero or the villain. The good or the bad. The light or the dark.
Closing his eyes, Peter finally decided on which one and let out a cry of pain, shooting back at both Bill and Constantine. The two then watched as the rules of the Framework bent to Peter's will and as he built a home around himself. Bill and Constantine were flung from the Framework and into reality.
Both of them.
Constantine let out a cry of pain as he was shot out of his mind. The others quickly removed the helmet from his head before it could burn him. He panted as he sat up and screamed, holding his head from the noise.
"Did it work?" Ned inquired.
They looked toward Peter's body and waited for something to happen. Suddenly, laughter began to fill the room as they watched Bill Cipher leave Peter's body and enter the real world.
"At last! At long, long last! The gate between worlds has been destroyed!" Bill cheered as all the heroes watched in fear. "The day has come! The world is finally mine!"
A beam of energy suddenly flew out of Peter's body and shot into the air, creating a rift in the middle of Washington Bay. Bill laughed maniacally as they watched Peter's body disappear.
"Peter!" MJ cried, wondering what had happened to him.
"What's going on?!" Kitty asked.
"If I had to guess... It's the end of the world..." Tula whispered.
Peter opened his eyes in confusion and saw that he was in bed somewhere. He sat up and wondered where he was, as he gazed out the window at what appeared to be an apartment complex. Just then, an arm reached over and turned him to face someone familiar.
"Did you have another nightmare?" she asked him, causing Peter to become seriously confused.
"What…?" Peter inquired, wondering if everything he had experienced was just a weird dream.
"Was it just another nightmare?" she asked him again.
Peter guessed, "I... I think so." Unsure of what was happening.
"Don't worry, you're back in the real world now, honey," the woman promised, and Peter noticed the wedding ring on her hand. Then he looked around the room and saw photos of him and the woman living their lives together.
Meeting in high school, dating throughout college, graduating together…and so much more. Like the birth of their daughter, and then later on, their son.
Finally seeing a photograph he recognized, Peter realized whom the woman in the picture was.
"Gwen?"
