Avengers x Kingdom Hearts: The Infinity War.

(Disclaimer: This is a re-write, re-editing and re-mastered story of an original fan fiction I completed on my old Fan Fiction account - HRFPublications. The events occur during Avengers: Infinity War and just after Kingdom Hearts III, with Sora leaving to find Kairi (an alternative timeline to Re:MiND, where Kairi hasn't returned yet). After the defeat of Master Xehanort, Thanos the Mad Titan - has begun his search for the Infinity Stones across the universe. The events follow the same as Infinity War (2018) - The Avengers are fractured after the fall out from the Sokovia Accords, with Tony and Steve not on speaking terms. With the Guardians of Light, Sora is missing after the 'death' of Kairi, thanks to Master Xehanort summoning Kingdom Hearts to grant him the x-Blade, which occurred at the battle of the Keyblade Graveyard. However, Riku, Donald and Goofy have been tasked by Master Yen Sid to attend Earth and seek guidance from Tony Stark. However, things take a turn when Bruce Banner crash lands in the Sanctum Sanctorum. Riku teams with Iron-Man, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man to protect the time stone, with Donald and Goofy left on Earth. This story follows mostly the Kingdom Hearts characters in this crossover, to show how they would impact the story.

Writers Note: I would like also to credit Fan Fiction author J.Tom for this crossover story I'm writing. It's a tribute to J.Tom's excellent Kingdom Hearts: Infinity War story, which was a huge inspiration for me to get back into writing and try my hand at this crossover idea.

J.Tom's Infinity War and Endgame stories are one of my favourite reads on this website and without it, I wouldn't have had the confidence to unleash my imagination and put my ideas to paper. J.Tom, thanks for the influence and inspiration, this story is credited to you and your fine work. Thank you.

Chapter 1: It Begins

THE SANCTUARY II - ONE WEEK BEFORE THE PRESENT TIMELINE

Thanos, The Mad Titan, sat upon his imposing obsidian throne, the epicentre of his dominion. The room echoed with an air of ruthless determination as he meticulously planned his next move. The Planet of Xandar lay before him, its untapped Power Stone, guarded by the Nova Corp was all he could think about. This would be his first step towards ultimate power, his destiny to save the universe from the shackles of imbalance.

With a clenched fist, Thanos brooded upon the delicate nature of his task. He understood that his mission was to bring equilibrium by eliminating half of all life, allowing the remaining half to thrive. To achieve this noble but genocidal goal, he required the unimaginable might of the six Infinity Stones, each representing a fundamental aspect of existence. The Power Stone of Xandar was but one piece of the puzzle, and it called to him like a siren's song.

As he delved deeper into his thoughts, Ebony Maw, his loyal and sadistic follower, materialised before him. The ethereal figure exuded an aura of arcane knowledge and sinister intelligence. His eyes glimmered with the excitement of sharing captivating news, an alluring intrigue that piqued Thanos's curiosity.

"My lord," Ebony Maw intoned, his voice reverberating with a touch of reverence. "I bring news of great interest from across the universe".

Thanos looked to his follower, intrigued with Maw's news.

"Speak, Maw," Thanos demanded.

"Xehanort, the seeker of Darkness, has been defeated," Maw replied.

Thanos leaned forward, his interest sparked. Master Xehanort, being consumed by the pursuit of power, had endeavoured to forge the χ-blade, an artefact capable of summoning Kingdom Hearts, the ultimate power source. The plan was to plunge all worlds into darkness, perpetuating an eternal reign of despair. But now, Xehanort's grand design has crumbled, leaving the universe in a state of fragile balance.

A dark smirk tugged at the corner of Thanos' lips, his satisfaction evident.

"Xehanort," he mused, "a fool consumed by his own ambition, blinded by his small-mindedness. He failed where I shall succeed."

Thanos sank back into his throne and closed his eyes, his mind drifting back to a fateful encounter he had had with Xehanort years ago—a meeting that had revealed the seeker of Darkness's flawed ideologies and blinded ego. He remembered the conversation vividly, the clash of ideals that left him both bemused and disappointed.

FLASHBACK - KEYBLADE GRAVEYARD - YEARS IN THE PAST

In the vast expanse of the Keyblade Graveyard, a place steeped in ancient power and forgotten battles, two formidable figures crossed paths. Thanos, a towering figure with a gaze that held both determination and ruthlessness, stood face to face with Master Xehanort, a cunning mastermind adorned in dark robes, his eyes filled with ambition and a hunger for ultimate power.

As the swirling darkness surrounded them, the air crackled with tension. Thanos, having heard of Xehanort's own grand design, sought to understand the depths of his ideology. The two beings, drawn together by their shared thirst for power and their respective plans to reshape the universe, engaged in a conversation that would leave an indelible mark on their minds.

Thanos began, his voice carrying a weight that matched the gravity of his purpose.

"Xehanort, I have heard whispers of your plans, of your intent to bring forward a Keyblade War, in means to forge the χ-blade and summon forth Kingdom Hearts, correct?" Thanos questioned, his eyes piercing at the master manipulator.

Xehanort regarded Thanos with a mixture of curiosity and caution.

"Indeed, Thanos," Xehanort remarked with a smirk. "My ambitions go beyond the mere existence of this universe. I seek to reshape the very fabric of reality, to transcend the boundaries of light and darkness. The Keyblade War is but a means to an end, a catalyst for unlocking untold power."

The Mad Titan's gaze hardened, a glimmer of concern flashing in his eyes.

"While our goals may differ in their methodology, Xehanort, I cannot help but see you as a potential threat to my own plans," Thanos replied, his voice deep and low. "Your actions could disrupt the balance I aim to achieve."

Xehanort, undeterred by Thanos' warning, smiled knowingly.

"Threats, Thanos, are but challenges to be overcome," Xehanort remarked. "We each have our paths, our visions for the future. But tread carefully, for the choices we make can have consequences beyond our reckoning."

The air grew thick with a silent understanding, a clash of ideologies that transcended their individual ambitions. Thanos, a proponent of balance through destruction, and Xehanort, an advocate for the mastery of light and darkness, knew that their paths may cross again in a future where their plans collided.

From their vantage point high above, Gamora and Nebula kept a watchful eye on their father as he engaged in a conversation with Xehanort. They knew the importance of safeguarding Thanos, ensuring his safety from any potential threats that lurked in the shadows. The sisters understood the danger that Xehanort's followers posed, and their duty to protect their father at all costs.

As the two sisters focused their attention on the conversation below, a dark presence began to slither towards them. Vanitas, the embodiment of darkness and a loyal servant of Xehanort, sought to sow discord and provoke a reaction from the guardians of Thanos.

With a stealthy approach, Vanitas shadowed his way closer to the teenage Gamora and Nebula, a sinister grin etched upon his face. His intent was clear - to antagonise and unsettle them, to test their resolve and loyalty.

"Ah, the daughters of Thanos," Vanitas sneered, his voice dripping with malevolence. "Always lurking in the shadows, just like your dear old dad. But tell me, little assassins, do you truly believe you can protect him from the darkness that surrounds him?"

Gamora's emerald eyes narrowed, her grip on her weapon tightening. She refused to let Vanitas's words rattle her composure.

"We are not mere assassins," she retorted, her voice steady and defiant. "We are his daughters, and we will do whatever it takes to ensure his safety."

Nebula, her cybernetic enhancements glinting in the dim light, stepped forward, her gaze unyielding.

"You underestimate us, Vanitas,2 Nebula added. "We are not to be trifled with. Our loyalty lies with our father, and we will defend him with everything we have."

"Ah, loyalty, such a fragile thing,2 Vanitas taunted with a deep chuckle. "But when the time comes, when the darkness consumes your father, will you still stand by him? Or will you falter like the weak creatures you truly are?"

The sisters exchanged a knowing glance, their bond forged through shared experiences and a determination to prove themselves. They remained steadfast, unswayed by Vanitas's attempts to sow doubt within their hearts.

"We are not weak," Gamora declared, her voice laced with resolve. "We have seen the darkness, and we have overcome it. We will protect our father, even if it means facing the very depths of the shadows."

Nebula's eyes gleamed with determination as she stepped forward, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

"So, Vanitas, if you value your existence, I suggest you retreat,2 Nebula threatened. "For we are the daughters of Thanos, and we will not be broken."

Vanitas's shadowy form recoiled slightly, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features. He knew better than to underestimate the strength and resilience of these two fierce warriors. With a final smirk, he melted back into the darkness, disappearing from sight.

"Whatever," Vanitas scoffed coldly.

As Vanitas slinked back into the shadows, he couldn't resist delivering a parting comment that lingered in the air like a chilling breeze. His voice carried a sinister edge as he spoke his final words to the sisters:

"Remember this, daughters of Thanos," Vanitas said, leaving the two warriors with a cautious warning. "Xehanort and your father are but two faces of the same coin. Bound by their ideologies, they both seek to reshape the universe in their own image. Be wary of the path you tread, for darkness knows no boundaries."

The words hung in the air, echoing through Gamora and Nebula's minds. They pondered the implications of Vanitas's statement, realising that their father, Thanos, and Xehanort shared more similarities than they initially believed.

Gamora and Nebula exchanged a brief nod, their sisterly bond stronger than ever. Together, they would continue to watch over their Father, protect him from any threats that dared to challenge his reign. And as they returned their gaze to the ongoing conversation below, their resolve burned brighter, fuelling their determination to shield Thanos from the encroaching darkness.

"Xehanort failed to understand the true scale of the issues facing our universe," Thanos murmured, his voice laced with a mixture of disappointment and conviction. "He saw only his own desires, his own thirst for dominance. He was but a small-minded fool, unaware of the larger picture."

With Xehanort's defeat, Thanos knew that the time to act had finally come. The absence of other powerful beings in the universe—The Ancient One, Ego the Living Planet, Odin—had left a void waiting to be filled. Thanos would step into that void, his mission to collect the Infinity Stones standing on the precipice of fruition.

"And now, Xehanort, like the rest, has fallen," Thanos whispered deeply, his voice carrying a cold satisfaction. "His misguided quest has crumbled into dust, just as the cosmos shall crumble without my intervention."

Opening his eyes, Thanos stared into the depths of the holographic projection before him. The time for idle contemplation had passed. The universe awaited his touch, his guiding hand that would restore balance and order. The Mad Titan's destiny beckoned, and he would answer the call.

"Assemble our forces," Thanos commanded, his voice echoing with authority. "The time has come to gather the Infinity Stones. The universe shall witness its true salvation, borne of balance and unyielding purpose."

Ebony Maw nodded and left the throne room, his expression a mask of unwavering loyalty. Thanos rose from his throne, his towering presence commanding the attention of all who stood before him.

"The universe shall be saved," Thanos declared, his voice carrying the weight of certainty. "And those who dare to oppose my vision shall crumble beneath the might of the Infinity Stones and my will to correct this universe."

The Mad Titan strode toward the chamber that housed his most coveted possessions—the vault that safeguarded the mystic and mysterious golden Infinity Gauntlet. The air crackled with anticipation as he approached, the weight of destiny settling upon his broad shoulders.

The vault doors, adorned with intricate engravings depicting the conquests of ancient civilizations, swung open at his approach. Within and waiting was the beacon to hold the mighty power of the stones - The Infinity Gauntlet.

Thanos extended his hand, his fingers curling around the golden gauntlet, the pinnacle of his might. With a measured motion, Thanos slid the gauntlet onto his hand, the metal clinked against his tough, cold, purple Titan flesh, melding with his essence. The Mad Titan clenched his fist, his eyes gleaming with an unwavering conviction.

"The time has come," Thanos murmured, his voice resonating with a blend of determination and grim satisfaction. "To wield the might of the Infinity Stones is to embrace the true purpose of power—to bring balance, order, and salvation."

With a smirk and confidence driving through him, Thanos muttered to himself with a smirk.

"I am, Inevitable".

YEN SID'S TOWER

Yen Sid's tower stood tall and imposing, its ancient stones infused with the wisdom of centuries. Within the mystical study, the air crackled with an undercurrent of unease. Yen Sid, felt a disturbance in his soul. The former Keyblade Master felt a power surge like nothing he's felt. Stronger than his Guardians of the Light, The Real Organisation XIII and even Master Xehanort.

Yen Sid, with his long beard flowing, stood at the centre of the chamber, his gaze fixed upon a swirling portal of arcane energy. As Yen Sid's aged hand swept through the air, the portal expanded and his consciousness transcended from his physical realm, delving into the depths of space and time. He called upon his mystical abilities to project his astral form, allowing him to witness the events unfolding on Xandar, a once-thriving planet now consumed by the flames of destruction.

The air crackled with the acrid scent of smoke and burning debris. Charred remnants of buildings lay strewn across the devastated landscape, their ruins a testament to the chaos that had unfolded. The Nova Corps, valiant defenders of Xandar, fought desperately against the Children of Thanos, but their efforts were in vain.

Hovering above the battleground, Yen Sid watched in horror as the vile Ebony Maw, a cunning and sadistic follower, approached a large, powerful, frightening and intimidating figure. In his outstretched hand, Ebony Maw held the Orb, a relic of immense power, housing the coveted Power Stone. Yen Sid floating watching this evil act unfold - he suddenly knew who the purple behemoth standing in front of him was - it was Thanos, The Mad Titan. His name was echoed around the cosmos for many years, but not even Yen Sid knew much about this war lord. However, rumours and speculation spread that he was after the six Infinity Stones to bring order, balance and correction to the Universe.

Yen Sid's heart sank as he witnessed the moment when Thanos, with an air of grim determination, accepted the Orb from Ebony Maw. The sorcerer's ethereal form trembled with trepidation as he beheld the raw, unchecked power contained within that small, innocuous-looking 's giant purple hands crushed the Orb and inside laid the purple Power Stone. Effortlessly, Thanos inserted the pulsating Power Stone into the intricate design of the Infinity Gauntlet. The stone pulsed with a malevolent energy, its power resonating through the cosmos. Yen Sid's spectral senses quivered under the weight of the ancient magic being harnessed before him.

Ebony Maw's voice, dripping with a chilling mix of reverence and sadistic pleasure, rang out across the devastated battlefield.

"Behold, my lord!" Ebony called out, darkness dripping in his tone. "The Power Stone, a mere fragment of the might that you shall wield! With its power, our saviour shall shape the universe to his whims, bringing forth a new era of balance."

Thanos looking to his golden, uru gauntlet smirked, knowing his plans were in full motion.

Yen Sid's brows furrowed, his mind grappling with the enormity of the situation. The Mad Titan's quest to collect the Infinity Stones had taken a grave turn. Thanos had acquired the Power Stone, an artefact capable of unleashing cataclysmic destruction and untold chaos in the wrong hands. The power of this stone already made the formidable Titan even more stronger and deadlier.

The sorcerer's ethereal form hovered closer, drawn by a morbid fascination and the dire need to understand his enemy's true intent. He observed Thanos, his hulking figure radiating an aura of malevolence and twisted purpose. The Mad Titan's eyes gleamed with a fanatical determination as he surveyed the ravaged planet, his gaze already set upon new conquests.

Yen Sid had seen enough and returned to his physical form, back at his tower. Yen Sid's astral form flew through the portal and connected back with this body, which was laying on the ground. With his astral form returned to his physical body, Yen Sid staggered back to his feet. His pulse raised and he was trying to understand what he witnessed on that planet. Yet, despite the gravity of the situation, Yen Sid knew he could not meddle with the affairs of other worlds at this time. It was not his place to interfere, but to observe from a distance. He made a difficult decision to hold off on this information, knowing that the tides of destiny were in motion and his intervention could have unforeseen consequences.

Days turned into a week, and Yen Sid's heart weighed heavy with the knowledge he had kept hidden. He pondered over the possible ramifications of his choice, grappling with his role as a guardian of the multiverse. But deep down, he knew that the path he had chosen was the one that upheld the greater balance.

And then, the day arrived—a day that shattered any remaining doubts within Yen Sid's mind. Thanos, driven by his insatiable hunger for power, descended upon Thor - God of Thunder's ship, filled with Asgardian refugees seeking sanctuary. Chaos erupted as the Mad Titan and his forces unleashed their wrath, leaving death and destruction in their wake. Thanos completed his mission - obtaining the Space Stone.

ONE WEEK LATER - YEN SID'S CHAMBER

Yen Sid watched in despair from his crystal ball, as the sanctuary that Thor, The God of Thunder, and his people had sought was transformed into a battleground of horror. The Mad Titan's forces overpowered the valiant Asgardians, their cries for mercy lost amidst the cacophony of destruction.

The sorcerer watched in horror as The Children of Thanos killed innocent Asgardian refugees, travelling across the stars to find a new home, after Asgard fell to Ragnarok. He watched on in hope that the mighty Thor, the cunning Loki and the Incredible Hulk could take down this genocidal maniac and his sadistic followers. Alas, this was not to be - Thor was beaten and punished by the power of the Power Stone Thanos' already possessed. The Hulk (The alter ego of scientist, Doctor Bruce Banner) - a giant, raging, green creature was humbled by Thanos, without even using the power of the stone in his gauntlet. The final act of Thanos' attack was snapping The God of Mischief's neck, in front of Thor. With his final act, Thanos retrieved the Space Stone, which was hiding in the powerful blue cube, better known as The Tesseract. Thanos, as he did with the orb back on Xandar, crushed it with his powerful hands to add the Space Stone to his collection. Adding the second stone meant the Mad Titan only need four more stones to complete his mission - Reality, Time, Soul and Mind were all that remained to complete the whole set.

Finally with Thanos and his children's work completed, The Mad titan used the power of the purple pulsating Power Stone, causing the refugee ship to break apart and explode in deep space. The remnants of the ship, forever marked by tragedy, faded away into the abyss of space. Yen Sid, burdened by grief on what he watched unfold, knew the weight of the universe was teetering on the edge of darkness. The elderly sorcerer vowed to avenge this and stop Thanos at any cost.

At that moment, Yen Sid knew that his earlier decision had been misguided. He stopped his glance into his crystal ball and a huge revelation weighed on him. The time for observation had passed; now, action was imperative. He understood the gravity of the threat posed by Thanos and his quest for the remaining four Infinity Stones. The universe itself hung in the balance, and it was his duty to rally the forces of light against this new encroaching darkness.

Sitting behind his desk and stroking his long, flowing grey beard - the sorcerer pondered what course of action needs to be taken. Yen Sid suddenly realised where Thanos and his followers may travel to next - a small planet across the universe called Earth. Yen Sid knew of stones being on that world and their safety were in jeopardy. He also knew that there were guardians protecting Earth - a group of remarkable people, who could fight the battles no one else could. The sorcerer's expression was etched with determination, his eyes filled with a newfound sense of urgency.

"We can no longer stand idly by," Yen Sid spoke, his voice firm and resolute. "The time has come to face this threat head-on. Thanos must be stopped, and the Infinity Stones reclaimed before he unleashes untold destruction upon the cosmos."

He rose from his chair and walked to the centre of his chamber - summoning a large portal. He bellowed out into the void.

"Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Riku - you are urgently needed. Quickly, to my chamber, immediately!"

Yen Sid knew that he needed to plan for the upcoming conflict with the Mad Titan and his followers. However, he knew that the Guardians of the Light would help the universe in its darkest hour.

ANSEM THE WISE'S REPORT

Date: Jan 69

Location: Morag, Outer Rim Territories

Subject: The Power Stone

The Power Stone, an artefact of immeasurable might and destructive potential, has been the focus of my recent research and investigation. My journey led me to the desolate planet of Morag, where the stone was said to be hidden.

Upon reaching Morag, I discovered the remnants of an ancient civilization, long gone and forgotten. The ruins bore witness to the immense power wielded by the stone, as they had been reduced to mere fragments under its influence.

While delving deeper into the ruins, I stumbled upon a holographic projection left behind by an ancient alien race. It revealed that the Power Stone is capable of harnessing and amplifying cosmic energies, granting its wielder an unprecedented level of strength and dominance.

To my astonishment, the projection also conveyed a warning about the grave consequences of mishandling such raw power. It became evident that the Power Stone could be a double-edged sword, capable of both immense creation and catastrophic destruction.

In my research, I encountered the testimony of an individual who had briefly possessed the Power Stone. The experience left them overwhelmed by its sheer intensity, causing irreversible damage to their physical form. This further emphasized the necessity of caution when approaching this formidable artifact.

Considering the implications of the Power Stone falling into the wrong hands, I am compelled to emphasize the utmost importance of safeguarding it from those who seek to exploit its immense power for personal gain or malicious intent.

Furthermore, the knowledge gained from this research expedition has shed light on the interconnectedness of the six Infinity Stones. Their combined might, if harnessed by a single individual, could reshape the fabric of the universe itself, heralding a catastrophic imbalance that must be prevented at all costs.

In conclusion, I must stress the significance of securing the Power Stone and ensuring its protection. The consequences of its misuse are dire and can have far-reaching implications for the stability of our reality. It is our duty to prevent such a catastrophic eventuality and ensure the Power Stone remains in responsible hands.

May this report serve as a testament to the immeasurable power and potential dangers associated with the Power Stone, as well as a call to action for those committed to maintaining the balance and harmony of the universe.
