Chapter 8
New school, new challenges

Midoriya house
Izuku stood proudly in front of a mirror as he looked at his school uniform. He wore a white long-sleeved button up shirt under a gray jacket. The jacket has gold buttons on it and green strips on the wrist, on the shoulders, and on the collar. He also wore dark greenish blue pants. And finally, he wore a red tie.
Izuku smiled as looked at himself. To think around six months ago his dream was to go to UA and now here he was. Izuku then reached into his capsule holder and pulled out the Belial capsule.
'Dad, if you were still with the Ultra warriors, I hope you would be proud of me.' Thought Izuku as he put the capsule away.
He then grabbed his bag and made his way to the lift. When he got there, his mother was waiting for him.
"Izuku I'm so proud of you." Said Inko with tears in her eyes.
"Thank you, mom." Said Izuku as he hugged his mother.
"And if your father were here, I'm sure he would be proud of you too." Said Inko as she was sure of that.
"Izuku, it is time to go." Informed Rem breaking the moment.
"Thank you Rem." Said Izuku as he stepped into the lift.
"Bye." Said Izuku as the doors closed and the lift went up.
Inko smiled as tears were still in her eyes. She was so proud of Izuku. Just six months ago he was a quirk less boy with a large dream. And now he's an Ultraman living his dream.

UA
Izuku stepped out of the lift a few blocks away from UA in an alleyway. He didn't want to get caught using the lift. He then walked towards UA as he fell in with the other students. But when he reached the entrance, he stopped for a moment.
He dreamed of this day for so long and now it was coming true. And with that he stepped into the school grounds.
Izuku looked at the information he got about which class he was in. He was in class 1-A. Luckily the school had a map making it easier. He soon found his way and was surprised by how big the door was. It made Izuku wounder how large some of the students could be.
But when he walked closer to the door, he saw a yellow sleeping bag on the ground near the door.
"About time you showed up." Said the sleeping bag as Izuku got into a fighting stance thinking it was an enemy.
"Oh, you think I'm a threat?" Said the bag as it got up and turned around to reveal Eraser head.
"Oh sensei. Sorry it's just that I wasn't expecting you to be in a sleeping bag in the hallway." Said Izuku as he relaxed as Eraser rolled his eyes.
"Whatever." He told Izuku before he got a serious look on his face.
"But let me make one thing very clear. I don't like you. You think just because you can turn into a giant, you're above the law. And if I had my way, you'd be in a cell right now." Said Eraser as Izuku just nodded.
He remembered how the meeting went and how Eraser and Kami woods glared at him. He knew that there were many more who felt the same. But Izuku hoped one day to prove them wrong.
"Come on." Said Eraser as he got out of the sleeping bag. He then led Izuku into the class room.
Izuku followed his teacher into the classroom, and he saw his classmates. They were all at their desks. As Izuku looked at them he recognized three of them. There was Bakugo, Kirishima, and that girl from the construction site. Izuku looked closer at the other students and saw the pink skinned girl from when he meet Kirishima.
"Aizawa sensei who is this?" Asked a student with glasses on.
"This is the student who you had to sign those waivers for." Answered Eraser as that made Izuku wonder if the others knew he was a hero.
"For this nerd!" Yelled Bakugo.
"Aizawa sensei, may we ask why?" Asked a black-haired girl.
"He's Geed." Said Eraser shocking the class even Izuku as he revealed it so casually.
"What!?" Yelled everyone in disbelief.
"There's no way. Geed's a giant." Said one guy with cylinders for elbows making Izuku wonder what his quirk is.
"That's right! There's no way Geed could fit in here." Agreed a short boy with round purple orbs for hair.
"But I can be human size, right Kirishima." Said Izuku looking at the spiky red head.
"How do you know my name?" Asked Kirishima confused.
"You message me about your new quirk, the ability to make a barrier around yourself. You wanted to know it was safe. But it wasn't it was a little star. That was when the Darklops Zero's attacked, and you gave me your little star. In the end I told you, you have a wonderful quirk." Explained Izuku as Kirishima's eyes went wide.
"You are Geed!" Said Kirishima with a wide grin.
"Are you sure?" Asked the pink skinned girl. Mina Izuku though her name was.
"Yeah, he explained the situation as it happened. He really is Geed." Kirishima told her as the class was shocked to hear all this.
But then the girl from the construction site got up and ran up to Izuku and hugged him.
"Thank you!" Said the girl. "If it wasn't for you my parents might be dead right now."
Izuku felt his face get hot as this had never happened to him before as some of the students chuckled at his face.
"It's ok…" trailed off Izuku as he didn't know her name.
"Uraraka Ochaco." Answered Uraraka as she knew why he trailed off.
"It's ok Uraraka. It's what we Ultra's do." Said Izuku proudly.
"Excuse me." Said a boy as Izuku saw his hair was half white and half red and had a scar on the left side of his face.
"Yes." Said Izuku curious as Uraraka let him go.
"You said that Kirishima had a little star. What is that?" Asked the boy curious as the class and even Eraser was curious.
"I don't know how people get them, but little stars carry the power of other Ultramen. When one has a little star, they gain a new power based on based on the Ultra's power. Kirishima had Ultrseven's power, and he's known as a durable Ultra giving Kirishima the ability to make barriers." Explained Izuku as the class was in awe.
"So with a little star you can have two quirks." Said the same black hair girl from before.
"Then why you give it up man?" Asked a blond hair student with a black highlight.
"Because the power attracts monsters and aliens. You'd be putting yourself in danger and those around you." Explained Izuku making the class realized the danger.
"Let them come I'd take them all down." Yelled Bakugo as Izuku sighed.
"Then how do you get rid of this power?" Asked the scar boy.
"By giving it to an Ultraman." Answered Izuku.
Eraser made a mental note to talk to Nezu about this, as it could be dangerous.
"Ok, take your seat near the back." Said Eraser as Izuku saw his seat was in front of Bakugo making him sweet drop.
"Sensei before we begin, I need to ask something." Said the boy with glasses again, as Eraser shrugged.
"Why did you take the law into your own hands? Do you not believe in rules?" He told Asked Izuku sternly.
"I do but let me ask you all this. If you could save a life, but you would break the law, would you? Because I can't. I couldn't live with myself knowing that I had the power to save a life but didn't because of the law. I'm not saying we should break it. But sometimes we need to if it means to save lives." Said Izuku as the others thought about it as he took his seat.
Class then started, but the students couldn't help but think about Izuku's words. Would they let someone die, just to follow the law. Meanwhile Eraser just saw Izuku's words as a kid who didn't know how the real-world works.
Soon came lunch and Izuku learnt the names of his classmates. Then came the class everyone was excited for, the hero course classes.
Everyone was excited, though everyone was more excited then Izuku. Because they had the Ultraman Geed in their class.
"I have…." Everyone heard as they got excited as they knew ho it was.
"Come through the door, like normal!" Said All Might as he entered the class.
This caused the students to get even more excited as they had All might of all people teaching them. Some even commented that he was wearing his silver age costume.
"Hero basic training!" Started All Might. "The class that'll put you though all sorts of special training to mold you into heroes!"
"No time to dally. Today's activity is this!" Said All Might as he brought out card that had 'battle' written on it.
"Battle training!" Announced All Might as everyone had different reactions.
"And for that… you need these!" Said All Might as he pushed a button as from the wall opened up revealing suitcases with numbers on them. One for each student expect Izuku.
"In accordance with the 'quirk registry' and the special request forms you filled out before being admitted…" Trailed off All might as the student knew what they were.
"Costumes!" They cheered out in joy as All Might laughed at their enthusiasm.
"After you change head to ground beta." Said All might as he headed out to meet them there.
As the other students went for their brief cases Izuku started to head out.
"Izuku where are you headed? Do you not have a case?" Asked Ida confused.
"This is how I change." Said Izuku as he held his raiser.
"So that's how you change." Said a voice as everyone saw principal Nezu there.
"Principal Nezu!?" Said everyone surprised.
"Mr. Midoriya I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute?" Asked Nezu as the other students wondered what was wrong, though Bakugo grinned.
"Sure." Said Izuku as the two headed off. Once off to the side the two talked.
"Frist off do you have the data I asked for." Asked Nezu curious.
"Yes." Said Izuku as he held up a high-tech flash drive.
"All the data I have on monsters and aliens." Izuku told him as he handed it over.
"Thank you, Mr. Midoriya this data will help us greatly." Said Nezu as he took the drive.
"Now onto other matters." Said Nezu seriously making Izuku worried.
"I know your about to have your first hero course, but I'm afraid I have to give you limitations." Nezu told Izuku who was confused.
"Limitations?" Repeated Izuku confused.
"Personally, I believe your mature enough not to need these, but some of the staff are worried. And as such you have these limitations. Frist you are not allowed to be a giant. Second your limited to how often you can change your forms. And finally, you are not allowed to use your energy attacks." Informed Nezu as Izuku understood the first rule, but not the rest.
"But why?" Asked Izuku as he was greatly handicapped as Nezu sighed.
"Some feel that your too young and inexperienced to properly handle your powers." Said Nezu in a tone that says he disagrees with them.
Izuku tightened his fist as he couldn't believe it. When they didn't know who he was they were fine with it, but now that they do, he's too young. Nezu blinked as he swore, he saw Izuku's eyes glow red for a second.
"How many times can I change form?" Asked Izuku as he clamed down.
"Just once, but that may change." Said Nezu as it was better then nothing.
"Fine." Said Izuku as it still annoyed him.
"You'd better get going." Said Nezu as he took enough of Izuku's time.
Izuku then took off as Nezu sighed. He felt bad for Izuku. This school was to help young people become better heroes, but for Izuku it felt like they were shackling him.
Izuku rushed into field beta as he was the last one there. He honestly felt a little off being the only one in a school uniform while the others were in costume. But Izuku didn't want to waste energy if he could avoid it.
All Might looked at them all and smiled but was a little confused by Izuku. With him being in his school uniform.
"Let's see what you're made of. It's time for the trail of battle." Announced All Might before looking at Izuku.
"Now then young Midoriya why aren't you changed yet?" Asked All Might curious.
"I'm saving my energy." Answered Izuku confusing the others.
"I'm not sure what that means, but I must insist you change, or it may affect your grade." Informed All Might as Izuku sighed.
Izuku then went over what he saw. Field beta was a city field, so there was no way of knowing if the training as indoor or outdoor. So it would be best to use Primitive here. With that in mind he pulled out his riser and opened up his case and pulled out his Ultraman capsule.
"You go!" Said Izuku as he activated the capsule. Everyone was shocked when Ultraman appeared with his right arm raised with a grunt.
"I go!" Said Izuku as Belial appeared the same way. All Might eyed Belial as something about him made him worry.
"Here we go!" Said Izuku as he scanned the capsules in the holder as his classmates watched on.
"Fusion rise!" Announced the riser.
"Time to get ready!" Said Izuku as he did his pose and activated the riser.
"Geed!" Cried Izuku as glowed and the others could somewhat see his ultra form, as Ultraman and Belial started merged with him.
"Ultraman! Ultraman Belial!" Said the riser as the two ultra's fully merged with Izuku.
"Ultraman Geed, Primitive!" Said the Riser as Izuku fully transformed into Geed.
Everyone was surprised by what they just saw as a few grinned.
"That was awesome!" A few of the guys yelled.
"That seemed a little redundant didn't." Said Momo as a few agreed with her.
"Young Midoriya who were those two beings?" Asked All might curious.
"They are Ultraman and Ultraman Belial. Ultramen who's power I borrow." Said Geed as he was worried about his time limit.
"So the great Geed can't fight without using others powers. HA!" Said Bakugo as he looked down on Izuku.
"All Might the class." Said Geed as he ignored Bakugo.
"Oh right." Said All Might as he got distracted.
"Today's class will be an indoor battle trail." Said All Might as he then explained that most villain fight are held indoors and most of the villain fights they see on the streets are just thugs and such.
"For this test you'll separate into 'villain' and 'hero' teams. For a two-on-two team battle." Said All Might as he saw some students looking at Geed hoping to be his partner.
"What about foundational training?" Asked Tsuyu curious.
"This is foundational training!" Said All Might as he added. "Only this time, there won't be any robots."
Then everyone started to talk at the same time as All might could hear any of them.
"I can't hear you if you all speak at once!" All Might told them as he then brought out a piece of folded paper.
"For this training, we'll have some 'villains' guard a nuclear weapon they intend on deploying! The heroes must stop them and their nefarious scheme before its too late. If the heroes capture the villains or reach the nuclear core before time runs out, they win. If the villains manage to keep the core the whole time or capture the heroes, they win." Explained All Might as the students understood the rules.
"Your teammates and opponents will be chosen by lottery!" Said All might as he pulled out a box from nowhere.
"Is that really how we'll do it?!" Asked Ida surprised.
"Well, pros are often forced to make impromptu team-ups with other heroes they might not know very well, so this is probably testing that." Said Geed.
"I see! Always with our eyes on the future we are. I apologize!" Said Ida.
"Anyway! Let's start this!" Said All might as he then realized something. "Though Geed you will have to go last."
"I understand." Said Geed as he saw the looks earlier.
Soon everyone was teamed up as Uraraka was happy. She got Geed as a partner.
"Let's do our best Izuku." Said Uraraka happily.
"Right! But call me Geed when I'm like this." Said Geed as Uraraka nodded her head.
"And the first two pairs to do combat will be the following!" Said All Might as he reached into two boxes. One for heroes and the other for Villains.
"Team A will be heroes! And team D will be villains." Announced All Might as Geed and Uraraka were team A.
Geed looked at Bakugo as he and Ida were team D. Both of them were ready for this.
"This scenario has the villains inside the building first! Then, after five minutes the heroes will be let in as well. Everyone else will be able to watch what unfolds though the surveillance cameras!" Explained All might.
"This will allow young Ida and Bakugo to get inside the heads of villain kind!" Said All Might as Geed gave Bakugo a look.
'He doesn't have far to go.' Thought Geed when Bakugo told him to jump off a roof.
"This is a practical training exercise! So go all out without fear of injury! Though naturally we'll cut it short if things get out of hand." Said All Might.
"All Might Sensei if Izuku goes all out we'll be dead." Said Ida as he wasn't wrong.
"Do not worry, Young Midoriya had limits on what he can do." Said All Might as the others saw Geed grumbling about it.
Soon the two groups were the separated as they waited to begin.
With the villain team Ida was looking at where the bomb was located. He even checked the bomb and was glad it was made out of paper mâché.
"It may just be a training exercise, but it still pains me to be a villain. Though I suppose I just need to defend this thing." Said Ida as being a villain wasn't for him.
Meanwhile with Bakugo he was fuming. All this time Izuku, that damn nerd was Geed. Everybody was saying that Geed was the next All Might. It won't be that damn Deku it was going to be him. And he was going to prove it.
Outside with Geed and Uraraka, it was a little awkward for Uraraka. Ever since Geed saved her parents she wanted to thank him, but never knew how to. She sat at home looking at her computer trying to think of what to say but couldn't think of the words. But when she saw him today, she couldn't help herself and hugged him.
"Um Geed sorry about the hug earlier." Said Uraraka awkwardly.
"It's ok." Said Geed glad he couldn't blush when he was in his Ultra form. Especially since that was the first time a girl hugged him.
The two stood awkwardly as they studied the map when Uraraka realized something.
"Um, Geed how can we communicate?" Asked Uraraka as Geed didn't have 'ears' for the ear piece.
"Don't worry Rem already patched me in." Answered Geed as Uraraka wondered who Rem was.
"Battle start!" they then heard All Might say as the two nodded and head to the building.
"How should we enter?" Asked Uraraka curious.
"I'll fly us up to the mid levels. That should confuse them long enough for us to get an idea where the bomb is." Answered Geed as he went to pick Uraraka up only for her to stop him.
"I can get up there myself." Said Uraraka as she touched her fingers together and floated up.
Geed wanted to ask her about her quirk, but knew it wasn't the time. But he really wanted to.
The two then entered the building through a window. Geed then took point as Uraraka followed him.
As they walked Geed was going over his notes in his head. But he was worried. He had never fought in tight spaces like this before and with his energy attacks banned he was in a tight spot.
That was when it happened. When they reach a turn Bakugo appeared out of nowhere. He then attacked Geed, who moved Uraraka out of way.
"You ok?" Asked Geed as he was grazed by Bakugo's attack.
"Yeah." Said Uraraka as she was startled by the sudden attack.
"Dammit Deku, don't dodge me!" Growled Bakugo.
With the other students and All Might watched what happened.
"That Bakugo's a cheater! An ambush is so unmanly!" Said Kirishima as part of him wanted Geed to win.
"Ambushes are good strategy! They are in the heat of battle after all!" All Might told everyone curious how this will go.
"But Izuku ducked away from it pretty well." Said Mina excited for the fight.
Back with the fight Geed made sure to be between Bakugo and Uraraka.
"Uraraka go." Said Geed as he eyed Bakugo.
"But Geed…" Trailed off Uraraka as she remembered their quirk tests yesterday.
"This is a fight that needs to happen." Said Geed calmly.
"For once Deku I agree with you." Said Bakugo as he felt the same.
Uraraka looked at Geed and closed her eyes as she turned around and ran off.
"Its time we settle this you damn nerd." Said Bakugo as he held up his hand and an explosion went off.
"I couldn't agree more." Said Geed as he got into a fighting stance.
Bakugo charged first as he swung his right arm at Geed. But then to his surprise, Geed caught his arm and flipped him over his shoulder. Bakugo was shocked by this.
'Did he read my movements?' Bakugo asked himself in surprise.
"Surprised?" Asked Geed. "Don't forget my hobby is analyzing heroes and that includes you as well."
Bakugo got up as he growled at Geed.
"Hey Bakugo!" Said Ida over their radio's. "Tell me what's going on! What's happening!?"
"Shut up and keep guarding! I'm really fucking pissed right now!" Said Bakugo as he turned his radio off.
Bakugo then used his explosions to launch himself at Geed, only for Geed to fly upwards. Bakugo then tried to change direction, but Geed was ready for him and punched him in the face. Bakugo then hit the ground with a thud as Geed landed near him.
With the other students they were amazed by what they saw.
"Man look at Izuku go." Said Sero amazed.
"This fight had just started, anything could happen." Said Shoji.
"All Might sensei, you said Izuku had limits, what are they?" Asked Momo curious.
All Might sighed as he thought these limits were ridiculous as he doubted Izuku would abuse his powers.
"He is not allowed to use any of his energy attacks and can only change his forms once." All might told them as the students talked amongst themselves.
"But isn't that harmful to him?" Asked Tsuyu confused.
"I agree with you, but there are some who feel he isn't responsible enough right now." Answered All Might.
At the same time with Uraraka she found the bomb. She then saw Ida guarding the bomb and talking to himself.
"Bakugo is naturally rotten, but that actually hits the mark for this exercise. Hmm… following that train of thought, I ought to act more like a villain as well, yes. This too is simply another trail to become a splendid man worthy of my family's name! Put yourself in a villain's shoes!" Said Ida as he then turned his head.
"I am now… quite evil!" Said Ida in a fake evil tone. Hearing that was too much for Uraraka as she laughed.
"He's so earnest!" Said Uraraka, but unfortunately for her Ida heard her.
"So you've come Uraraka." Said Ida as Uraraka realized she goofed.
"I knew you'd come here alone as soon as Bakugo bolted off! Yours is a quirk that causes whatever you touch to float. With that in mind I moved to counter you. By giving this floor a thorough cleaning!" Said Ida as there was nothing on the ground expect the bomb.
"Now there'll be no little tricks you can try! You've made an error in your calculations, 'hero'!" Said Ida as he started to laugh as Uraraka was worried now.
Back with Geed and Bakugo, Bakugo was getting pissed off even more. Nothing he did worked on Geed. Currently Bakugo was catching his breath will Geed just stood there.
He saw on TV how Geed struggled against his opponents. Bakugo's eyes then went wide. Did this mean he was weaker than those monsters. Not that can't be! He was to be the next All Might.
"Give it up Bakugo." Said Geed as he hoped Uraraka was ok.
"You damn nerd." Said Bakugo as he realized Izuku stopped using that nickname for him.
"What happened to the Kacchan thing anyway?" Asked Bakugo curious.
"Nicknames are for friends." Said Geed sternly as he didn't see Bakugo as a friend anymore.
That actually shocked Bakugo as Izuku was always there, and now he won't. But his pride got the better of him.
"So you think your better then me!" Said Bakugo with a snarl.
That was when Bakugo noticed that Geed wasn't even looking his way.
"Geed!" Said Uraraka over their radio.
"Uraraka what's wrong?" Asked Geed worried.
"I got discovered by Ida! Sorry! Now he's edging closer." Uraraka told Geed as he could hear Ida laughing over the radio.
"Where are you?" Asked Geed as Uraraka needed him.
"The middle room on the fifth floor." Uraraka told him as Geed looked up.
"THAT'S IT!" Screamed Bakugo as Geed looked at him.
"Hey Deku, you know about my quirk." Said Bakugo as he raised his wrist so his grenade like wrist guard was pointed at him.
"Yes. Your explosions are caused when you spark the sweat from your palms." Said Geed confused.
"Yeah." Said Bakugo as he pulled out a pin. "Now image if I were to collect that sweat."
Hearing that Geed realized what he was saying as he took a step back in worry.
"I see you figured it out." Said Bakugo as he had a bit of a crazed look on his face.
"Bakugo, my boy, stop this!" Yelled All Might over the radio but Bakugo didn't hear him.
Bakugo pulled the pin on his wrist device and a powerful explosion came out. The explosion was so strong Uraraka and Ida stopped as the building shook. Even the other students were shocked by this as well.
Soon the smoke and dust started to clear and what the students and All Might saw shocked them. The building had a big hole in it. Seeing this All Might thought about cancelling the match worried the building may fall on them.
They then saw the hall Geed and Bakugo were in and many of them paled. None of them saw Geed anywhere.
"Did he kill Izuku?!" Cried out Mineta in panic.
"There's no way Izuku's dead. I saw him fight three enemies at once. There's no way he's dead." Said Kirishima without any doubt in his voice.
"Then where is he?" Asked Sato confused.
All Might stood there as he looked at the damage the building took. To be honest he wanted to end this right now. But he knew what Izuku was doing. If the test didn't end in five minutes, he was going to end it. But part of him was a little worried as Bakugo looked proud of himself.
Back with Uraraka she tried to take advantage of Ida's distraction and used her quirk to make herself lighter as she jumped for the bomb.
"Oh no you don't." Said Ida as he used his quirk engine to quickly move and grab the bomb out of Uraraka's way. Because of the quick movement Uraraka tumbled on the floor before hitting a wall.
"As long as you can't touch me, your no threat to me!" Said Ida confidently as he continued. "So I'll just hold out like this for all the time I need!"
Uraraka got up as she frowned. Ida was right, there was nothing she could do in this situation. With the room clear there was nothing for her to use her quirk on other then herself. But with Ida's speed he can easily keep the bomb away from her.
But then she saw something that made her grin. Ida saw the grin and go confused.
"What are you grinning about? I have you out classed here." Said Ida confused.
Then something grabbed Ida from behind him. Ida turned his head and gasped as Geed had him in a lock.
"Izuku!" Said Ida in shock as Uraraka used this chance to run up and grab the bomb.
All Might saw this and to Bakugo's shock announced the results.
"Hero team WINS!" Announced All Might as part of him was glad it was over.
Hearing that Geed let go of Ida.
"Are you ok?" Asked Geed as Ida nodded.
"Yes, but my pride is hurt." Admitted Ida as he got so caught up with Uraraka he forgot about Izuku.
Soon the four of them were standing in a line before All Might as the other students stood nearby.
"I'd say the best in this match was young Ida!" Said All Might as this caught all the students off guard.
"But weren't the winners Ochaco and Midoriya?" Asked Tsuyu confused.
"I wonder why I could possibly think so? Who knows why?" Asked All Might curious.
"Yes All Might Sensei." Said Momo as she then explained.
"It's because Ida was the one who adapted the most to the situation. Having watched the fight, Bakugo's behavior was clearly driven by some personal grudge, and thus totally arbitrary. Furthermore, just as you told us earlier, a large range attack in an indoor arena is just idiotic. For Izuku he was looking down on Bakugo the whole fight. We've all seen him on TV fighting, and we know he could have ended that fight sooner. Uraraka's game got loose halfway through and had to let Izuku finish the fight."
'Holy moley! She said it all!' Thought All Might surprised.
"W…Well… Young Ida might also have been a bit too stiff. But correct answer." Said All might as he had to say something as a teacher.
But then they all heard a weird beeping noise. Confused everyone saw it was the light on Geed's chest flashing. Geed looked at his color timer and let out a sigh of relief. He then transformed back into Izuku as he really confused the others.
"Um Geed… No Izuku why did you turn back?" Asked Uraraka confused.
Then the others jumped in asking 'what's with that light?', 'what are you doing?', and such.
"Young Izuku why did you turn back to normal?" Asked All Might as he had a gut feeling why.
"I can't tell you." Said Izuku as he refused to let that secret out.
"Young Izuku you can trust us, trust me. I know that flashing light is the source of it." Said All Might as Izuku broke as his hero told him he could trust him.
"It's called a color timer." Started Izuku. "It gauges my energy levels. When it starts to flash red, it means my energy levels are dangerously low."
"I see. And what will happen if it stops?" Asked All Might curious as to why Izuku was reluctant to transform earlier made sense.
"I'd run out of energy and most likely die." Answered Izuku as this shocked everyone. Even Bakugo was taken back.
"I see." Was all, All Might said as he felt there was more, but choose not to probe further.
"We have a few minutes before the next round, as we set up a new location." Said All Might as Izuku looked at Uraraka.
"Uraraka your quirk does it just make yourself lighter, or other things as well? If you can make other things lighter what is your limit for weight? Can you make multiple things float?" Started Izuku as he had a notebook in hand as he spoke so fast no one could understand him.
"Um… What?" Was all Uraraka could say.
"Wait you really do find quirks fascinating and study them." Said Kirishima.
"Yeah." Nodded Izuku.
"He's been at it for years." Said Bakugo as he was upset that Izuku made a fool of him.
"By the way what happened out there when Bakugo used that attack on you?" Asked Shoto curious.
"Well Uraraka asked for help and I knew if I rushed over Bakugo would follow me. But when Bakugo used that attack on me, I formed a barrier to block it and when the dust was still up I flew through the whole it made and went to help Uraraka." Answered Izuku as some of his classmates nodded in approval.
"Man, I wish could fly." Said Toru as Izuku turned to her and blinked.
"Are you naked Toru?" Asked Izuku with a blank face.
"Um… Yes?" Asked Toru as it didn't matter to her since she was always invisible.
Hearing that Izuku blushed and turned his head away. Seeing that the girls approved of his actions.
"Hey it's ok, I'm invisible." Said Toru.
"No it's not." Said Izuku as the others were curious.
"Why not?" Asked Toru curious.
"For two reasons. The first is you might be breaking a hero costume rule right now." Izuku told her as this shocked Toru.
"What do you mean?" Asked Toru in shock.
"There's a law that limits how much skin a hero can show. If you want to know more ask Midnight, she the reason the law exists." Explained Izuku as they didn't know that.
"And the other?" Asked Momo as she wondered if her costume was alright.
"With my ultra senses I can see some of her outline." Said Izuku with a blush.
Hearing that Toru didn't know what to say. As this had never happened before.
"The next teams are B team for heroes, and I team for villains." Said All Might as he heard what Izuku said and saved them some embarrassment. As Toru was on the hero team.
But when the match started everyone was shocked when Shoto froze the whole building. Both Ojiro and Toru couldn't move as Shoto easily walked to the bomb. And when All Might declared the hero team winners Shoto flames to free both Ojiro and Toru.
"That was amazing Shoto." Said Izuku when they came back.
"Thank you." Said Shoto as he eyed Izuku.
"I don't think I've ever heard of a being able to use both fire and ice before. If you can master both and or mix them who know where you go." Said Izuku as Shoto gave him a look that gave Izuku shivers.
"I'll never use his flames." Was all Shoto said as Izuku got confused but left it alone.
The rest of the class continued on. After each match Izuku would ask his classmates about their quirks. Some of them couldn't answer Izuku as they didn't know. Like Mina when Izuku asked if she could change the type of acid she uses as she never tried that before. Or Sato when Izuku asked if different types of sugar have different reactions to him.
But Izuku did find one thing odd. When he asked Aoyama about his quirk it was very vague almost as if he didn't know his own quirk. But Izuku dismissed that thought as that couldn't be true.
"Good work everyone." Praised All Might. "You all went out there and gave it your all. It may have been your first class, but I see potential in all of you. Now head back and change clothes."
Everyone started to head back when All Might spoke up.
"Oh, Young Midoriya a second." Said All Might as Izuku was confused.
"Is everything ok All Might?" Asked Izuku curious as the two were alone.
"First off you handle yourself very well with the restrictions that are on you. This will go a long way to gaining the other teachers trust." Said All Might as Izuku smiled.
"All Might…" Said Izuku nervously.
"Yes?" Asked All Might confused.
"Will Bakugo get a restriction on that move of his?" Asked Izuku as while he did put up his barrier in time, it could have been bad for him.
All Might sighed as Izuku brought up a very good point. One could see Izuku used his powers carefully, the same could not be said for what Bakugo did today. That attack could have brought down the building today.
"I can't say anything. I will have to bring it up with the other teachers." All might told him as it was the truth.
"But on another note, that color timer of yours why keep it a secret?" Asked All Might.
"Why do you keep your secret." Countered Izuku as All might understood. If people found that out it would be disastrous. Luckily all the students sighed waivers to keep quite about it.
"Tell me is there anyway to keep your energies up or recharge you?" Asked All Might as Izuku thought on how to explain it.
"It's not that simple All Might." Started Izuku. "My energies drop when I fight and such. And another bigger factor is while I'm half human and can operate longer than most Ultra's at human size, I'm still affected by the same problem."
"Problem, what problem?" Asked All Might curious.
"We draw power from the sun. And the Earth's atmospheres block some of it." Explained Izuku as that surprised All Might.
"And here I thought global warming was taking care of that." Joked All Might.
"Not fast enough." Joined in Izuku as All Might got serious.
"Young Midoriya in light of this new information, I will allow you to transform when you deem so. But you will have to wear your gym clothes from now on though." All Might told him as Izuku nodded in agreement.
Soon school ended for the day, and everyone headed out. As Izuku headed out he was talking with both Uraraka and Ida.
"Wait you mean to say the Ultramen has a power structure!" Said Ida in surprise. He thought they did what they wanted when they wanted.
"Yes, but it's very loose, as the ultra on the scene can tell more then the ones back home." Said Izuku.
"I see." Said Ida as this was interesting to him.
"Um Izuku, why did Bakugo sometimes call you Deku?" Asked Uraraka curious as Izuku sighed.
"We were friends when we were younger, but when I didn't get a quirk and he did he started to insult he and such. His favorite was the worthless Deku." Answered Izuku as part of him wished that Bakugo, the one before he got his quirk would come back.
That caught the two off guard as they were training to be heroes. But at the same time, they believed it, mostly by Bakugo's actions.
"I see, but Deku well… it screams 'do your best!'. I kinda like it." Said Uraraka as Izuku blushed a little.
"If you want to call me that it's fine." Said Izuku as it sounded right from her.
"Bu the way Izuku, where do you live?" Asked Ida as he was starting to get a little awkward.
"In a secret underground base." Said Izuku as that caused the two to stop and stare at him.
"Are you serious?" Asked Uraraka.
"Yup." Said Izuku as he held onto his holder. "Rem the elevator."
Izuku then looked into an alleyway as Ida and Uraraka followed his line of sight. Then their eyes went wide as the elevator appeared out of nowhere.
"Well see you tomorrow." Said Izuku as he entered the elevator and it vanished.
"Did that just happen?" Asked a shocked Ida.
"Yup." Said Uraraka as the two then headed for the station.
Meanwhile back at UA Bakugo was slowly making his way home. He couldn't believe it. That worthless Deku was Geed, and he made a fool of him twice in one test.
"Ah young Bakugo." Said All Might as he appeared out of no where.
"All Might." Said Bakugo as he didn't seem to care.
"Still thinking about your fight with Geed?" Asked All Might as Bakugo said nothing, but his posture said everything.
"Personally, I think it's a good thing you lost today." All Might told him, as Bakugo's eyes went wide, and he turned to face All Might.
"What was that!?" Asked Bakugo as he couldn't believe All Might just said that.
"Let me guess young Bakugo. Ever since your quirk came in people have praised you over and over again. I wouldn't even be surprised if some of your past teachers looked the other way for you." Stated All Might as Bakugo stood there wide eyed as he was right.
"Because if that is the case, you needed this defeat. To humble you." Finished All Might as Bakugo was shocked.
"What the hell does that mean?!" Asked Bakugo annoyed.
"You've been over praised, young Bakugo. I seen it happen to many promising heroes. They get swallowed by their pride and something terrible happens to either them or the people around them." Warned All Might as he didn't want that to happen to Bakugo.
Bakugo couldn't believe what he just heard All Might say to him. His pride wasn't the problem here. It was that damn Deku for lying all these years to him. And with that Bakugo turned around with a huff and walked off.
All Might could only sigh as he watched Bakugo storm off. He knew one talk wouldn't do much, but he was worried Bakugo was on the path of self destruction. Maybe he should talk to Gran Torino and Nighteye about this. He may need they input on the matter.
But what no one knew was things were about to get worse. The man who was responsible for the monster attacks was looking at the bar he was staking out.
"I suppose its time for the devil of the earth to team up with the devil of space." Said the man with a grin as he got ready for contact.
And so there is Izuku's first day at UA. I know that I made the fight between Bakugo and Geed one side, but I did that for two reasons. The first is Geed has experience fighting monsters and such, while Bakugo doesn't. And the second reason being, and this is more of personal reason. He needed some humbling. He always thought of himself as the greatest and his attitude reflected that. And it always rubbed me the wrong way. For those who are Bakugo fans I hope you don't hate me for that.
As for the color timer I did some research on it on the Ultraman Wiki. It said that the atmosphere of some world are harmful to Ultramen. But Since Izuku is half human it works in his favour, but only when he's human sized.
And that law I mentioned for hero costumes is real. I looked into what Midnight used to wear for a hero costume and lets just say that the group nudist beach from Kill la Kill would be proud of her.
