Alabasta- Many years ago-

A young girl with blue hair was looking out her window, watching the kingdom below.

This girl is Nefertari Vivi, princess of the kingdom of Alabasta and future ruler.

Right now, she's supposed to be asleep but cannot because a small party is below her.

Her father, the king, is having a get-together to celebrate the anniversary of two royal guards, Pell and Chakra, first becoming guards and honoring everything they've done for Alabasta.

Vivi wanted to go because she was close to Pell and Chakra, who she thought of as uncles.

"Ok, that's it!" Vivi said to herself. "I'm going down there and wishing them a happy anniversary."

Vivi walks over to her door and opens it slightly. She peeks out to see if anyone is in the hallway. Once she saw the coast was clear, she started sneaking down the hallway towards the party.

After wandering the hallway a while, she saw a door up ahead. Vivi ran over to the door and rushed through. But it didn't lead to the party, it led to the courtyard on the OTHER side of the palace.

Vivi had taken a wrong turn.

"Awwhh!" Vivi groaned to herself and slumped over a pillar in disappointment. "There goes saying happy anniversary..."

As she sat there, she looked up to the night sky. Vivi heard watching the stars at night can cheer you up when you're down. This worked until she noticed something else in the night sky. A shooting star with a green tail blazing across the sky.

"Wow!" Vivi said, amazed by the sight before her.

But the beautiful spectacle turned to horror when the comet suddenly shifted directions and headed straight at her. Vivi screamed and ran for cover as the comet crashed into the ground where she was standing.

When the dust cleared up, Vivi came out of her hiding place and went over to the crater the comet made. But, the comet was not a comet at all, but a strange metal sphere.

"T-that's not a shooting star…" Vivi noted, never having seen anything like this before.

Suddenly, Vivi heard noises coming from the hallway behind her. She was about to turn and see what it was when her foot touched an unstable ground. It gave way and made her stumble into the crater, Stopping when she was face-to-face with the metal sphere.

Vivi groaned as he picked herself up and was faced with the sphere. Before she could react, the sphere clicked, making Vivi freeze in her tracks.

The sphere then opened up as a green glow escaped. Vivi was not prepared to see the unexpected contents of the sphere. Inside was what appeared to be a big wristband with a black frame with gray supports and green studs on each side. In the center was a black and green faceplate with an hourglass symbol.

"What is this thing doing in a comet?" Vivi asked herself looking back up at the sky, wondering where this thing came from.

Then, the sounds from the hallway get louder. This time, Vivi recognizes the sound of the guards marching toward the courtyard. Vivi panicked as she tried to figure out what to do now and didn't realize she waved her left arm over that wristband and it came to life and launched itself onto Vivi's wrist and clamped shut.

Making her freak out about the strange thing that was now stuck to her wrist, frantically doing everything to get it to come off. When that failed, she then remembered that the guards were coming.

Without thinking about it, Vivi frantically crawled out of the crater and hid in the bushes.

Several guards then charged into the courtyard, stopping short of the crater. All in shock at the empty pod before them.

"What are all you…." Asked a tall man with a small red nose and blond hair in a style that resembled a powdered wig. This man is Ingram, captain of the Arabasta royal guard.

But he was taken aback by the pod as well as the guard. "What in the…"

"Ingram! Sir! There appear to be no signs of this being an intentional attack." One guard briefs to Ingram.

"I see that, and this sphere is hollow. There may have been something inside." Ingram noted. "Check the area for anything out of the ordinary." He ordered the guards.

"Yes, sir!" As the guards left, one guard stayed behind.

"What about us, sir?" One guard asked.

"We'll be taking this sphere to the king," Ingram explained. "His Majesty would want to get answers as soon as possible."

The guard then removed the sphere from the crater and handed it to Ingram.

"You take the sphere to the council chambers," He tells the guard. "I'll join you shortly after I check up on the princess, I want to see if she's alright, she might be worrying that we are being attacked."

"Alright, sir." The guard said as he went down one side of the hallway, while Ingram went down the other. He was not surprised that Ingram would check on Vivi first.

Since the day the princess was born, Ingram had cared for and watched over Vivi as if she were his own daughter. And has been very protective after the queen passed a few years back.

Now that everyone had left the courtyard, Vivi finally popped out of the bushes. She did her best to stay hidden. But now, she had a bigger problem. Ingram is heading to her room and she's not in her room.

Vivi was terrified by the idea of being caught and worst of all, having some strange armband stuck to her arm.

"Oh, right… this." She says looking at the armband. She then tries to pull it off again, but no matter where she tries, it just won't budge.

"How am I going to explain this to my father, let alone anyone!" Vivi thought to herself, worried about the consequences.

As she did this, she accidentally poked one of the green studs, and the faceplate suddenly popped up. "Woah!"

The X-shaped faceplate then folded to form a diamond shape and the silhouette of a flame-headed creature with thick hands appeared inside it.

Vivi didn't know what to make so she touched the faceplate accidentally making it turn, changing the silhouette to that of a large dog creature.

"Huh, that's interesting." She notes as she keeps twisting the faceplate.

She kept doing this until she arrived back at the flame creature. She was able to count ten different creature icons on the watch.

Vivi was so engrossed by her find, she forgot that Ingram was going to her room. Once she remembered she started to run. In her panic, she didn't realize she set the faceplate to the insectoid icon. In her haste to get to her room, she accidentally trips, pressing the faceplate down, and erupts in a green flash.

The armband sank into Vivi's arm as the skin hardened and turned into a green exoskeleton with the hand becoming black with three clawed fingers. Her head morphed, growing four golden insectoid eyes that blinked vertically and Vivi's face turned black and three horns grew out of it. Her body was reshaped into a more insectoid one. Four green insect legs grew out of Vivi's sides, two green silk wings sprouted from her back, and her abdomen grew two large black stingers.

"Ow, my head…" Vivi groaned, rubbing her head. Only to feel her head now has a weird shape.

Confused, she pulled her hand back and noticed her hands were now claws. "Huh!"

She then looks down at the rest of her new body. "What the…" Saying before falling over due to her inexperience with her new legs.

Vivi tries to get back to regain her footing, but having four insect legs makes it difficult. Eventually, she managed to get the hang of it and stumbled into a hall with a mirror. With that, Vivi sees her new form for the first time.

Vivi was now a large insect creature with four crab-like legs, a large double-barbed stinger tail, and two brown-greenish arms with three-clawed hands. She has four small eyes on long prehensile stalks connected to her large head with three horns on her head that resemble a tiara. On her back are two fragile light greenish-yellow dragon-like wings with veins running through them. On top of that, she now has the hourglass symbol on her forehead. Her clothes have also changed into a blue sleeveless jumpsuit with black lining which covered most of her body.

"T-this has got to be a dream!" Vivi spoke in disbelief, her voice sounding gravelly but still feminine.

She looked at her reflection and touched her face to see if this was a dream. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

"It's not a dream…" She sulked, Vivi then looked back at her reflection and noticed the large wings on her back. "Wait a second…"

She takes the moment to test her wings by making them flutter. "...this is NOT a dream!"

Vivi realized she could use this form to her advantage. Since this form has wings, she could fly back to her room.

She moved back outside and put this to the test. Vivi begins fluttering her wings to build up momentum. As she does this, she then feels the ground disappear beneath her feet.

Vivi looked down and saw she was hovering over the courtyard.

"No way! I'm flying!" She says to herself surprised, while flying forward.

"I'm actually flyi-OWww!" Vivi grunts in pain as she accidentally collides with a palm tree.

Vivi pulled her face off the tree and rubbed her face. "OK, focus on flying only when you're in the air." She noted.

She then changed direction and flew to her room. As she flew she looked down at the ground below. She discovered that her eyestalks can all be moved around independently from each other, by doing so. Vivi couldn't help but feel both weirded out and normal doing this.

"Huh, I guess this is how Pell feels whenever he uses his Devil Fruit." She thought to herself. "I should probably ask him about that to get some pointers."

Finally, she managed to reach her bedroom window and to her luck, Ingram was not there.

Vivi thought she was in the clear until she saw her doorknob start jiggling, Ingram was about to enter!

Without hesitation, Vivi jumped into her bed and covered herself in her blanket.

Ingram then opened her door and stuck his head in. "I'm sorry to bother you, princess." Ingram apologized. "I just wanted to see if you were ok."

"I'm fine, Ingram," Vivi replied, trying to sound as normal as possible. "But I was startled by all that noise outside." She admits.

"Well, you don't have anything to worry about, we managed to get everything under control, so you have nothing to worry about," Ingram assured Vivi.

"Thank you, Ingram," Vivi replied.

"Alright now, get some sleep now," Ingram said before closing her door.

Before he fully closed it, he got a whiff of a strange smell.

"Blerk… Goodness, what is that horrid stench!" Ingram scrunched his nose, he had never smelled anything so foul before.

Just then a guard approached him. "Ingram! Sir! His Majesty wants to see you in the council chambers,"

"Very well, I'll be there soon," Ingram replied.

As the guard left, Ingram got another whiff of the same odor, which made him realize the possible source of the odor.

"Sigh… I know it is not my place to judge, but I believe that man might need better deodorant." He noted to himself.

Vivi peered one of her eyestocks out to see if the coast was clear. Seeing Ingram was gone, she crawled out of the blanket and sat on the bed.

"That was a close one," She sighed in relief. But now she has the problem of her being a large insect. She looks down at her clawed hands.

"Am I going to be stuck like this forever?" She asked herself, worried about how everyone, including her father, would react to this.

As if the universe gave her an answer, a beeping sound started to come out of the badge on her forehead.

She moved her eye stocks to see the badge was now blinking red.

"Beep, beep, beep, beep, beeeeep!"

With that Vivi's entire body erupts in a red flash. When the flash died down, Vivi looked at her hands and saw they were back to normal.

"I don't believe this." She states, running to her mirror. Vivi was indeed back to being the blue-haired princess she always was. "I'm me again."

She looked at her wrist and saw the armband, all the green parts were now red.

Vivi poked the button to try and turn it on again, but nothing happened.

"I guess you run on power." She noted.

After all that excitement, Vivi decided that it was best to not mess with this thing anymore and go to bed.

But as she tried to fall asleep, she couldn't get the thoughts of everything that happened out of her head. The more she tried to push it out, the more her curiosity grew. Until she makes the decision first thing in the morning, she will see what else this armband can do.
