It was the day after Jasmine and Mindy started trying to help Emily with her fear of the mysterious fiend type monster and the three of them were slowly waking up after they had been cuddling together. Jasmine was kissing Emily. Emily kissed her back only to pause and frown.
"Girlfriend?" Jasmine asked seeing that.
"Sorry, I'm just worried about Jaden." Emily admitted.
Mindy kissed her cheek at this saying, "You want to go see him?"
"Yeah, I think so." she nodded only to pause and blush before kissing Mindy gently. "Once we're dressed."
Both girls giggled at this. Emily smiled as they three of them got dressed before meeting up with Alexis to head to the Slifer Red Dorm. They walked together arriving just in time to see Syrus having a bag looking disheartened.
"Huh, Syrus?" Alexis asked seeing that. "What's going on?"
Syrus looked to them before looking, "I'm leaving the Academy..."
"Leaving, but why?" Emily asked him.
"I stink, I'm not good enough to be with Jaden. They'll give him a better partner then me, I'll end up getting me, and him kicked out." Syrus answered not looking up before moving to walk away.
"Syrus, why do you think that?" Alexis asked him.
"Yeah, I mean even a Slifer Red has to be able to win something and Jaden's not a terrible duelist even if we was taken out by Alexis." Mindy pointed out.
"Jaden's a great duelist, but that doesn't matter in a tag match." Syrus admitted looking down. "I'll just hold him back..."
Flashback...
Syrus was dueling against Jaden, Syrus has 2600 LP and no cards in play while Jaden has 4000 LP Elemental HERO Sparkman, and Elemental HERO Avian on the field along with a set card.
"Okay, my turn." Syrus drew before activating, "And I use Pot of Greed. This spell allows me to draw 2 cards." After drawing two his eyes widen seeing their both Spells, Power Bond, and Polymerization but Power Bond was what he widen his eyes on.
'This, if I play that I can win.' he thought only for an image of Zane to pass through his head as he frowned. "Alright, I activate Polymerization to merge together my Gyroid and Steamroid in order to bring out Steam Gyroid in attack mode!"

What rose was a large warrior wearing gold bulky armor with lightning all around it.

"… If I duel with Jaden there's no way he can win." Syrus finished.
Jasmine then asked confused, "If you had Power Bond in your hand, how come you didn't use it? You would be able to win if use that."
"I can't use that card, I'm not good enough." Syrus admitted looking down. "If I use it, I'll definitely mess up and end up making things even worse than I already do."
"Well by what your saying, you, and Ems both are in the same boat." Mindy said to him before telling to Emily, "Right, Emily?"
"Now that you mention it, yeah I think so." she nodded at that.
"So little bud, Emily is like you but that didn't stop her, or Jaden did it?" Jasmine asked Syrus with a grin gesturing her thumb to Emily.
"Well, I guess not. But Emily's an amazing duelist, she even managed to beat Zane." Syrus pointed out. "I barely passed my entrance exam, and I lost my promotion duel."
"Yeah but she's still hesitating then, and there." Mindy patted Emily's back, "We're helping her out with it though."
Syrus just looked down. "Thanks for saying that, but I've made up my mind. I'm leaving Duel Academy."
With that said he turned and walked off looking down.
"Poor little guy." Jasmine said with a frown at this.
"Should we let Jaden know?" Mindy suggested Emily.
"Yeah, we should. I just hope he's not sleeping in." Emily admitted as they walked into the dorm.
They knocked on the dorm room but no response. After Alexis opens the door taking a look she closed the door turning to the three girls, "Jaden's not in the room, and neither is there Roommate, Chumley."
"Huh, where do you think they are?" Emily asked only for Jasmine to frown.
"If you guys want to look for them let us know, but Mindy and I need to work on some of our homework for tomorrow's class." she told the two of them.
"You two go ahead, and head back, me, and Emily will look for Jaden." Alexis told her.
"Got it, see you two later." Mindy smiled before walking off with Jasmine.
"If I know Jaden he's probably wanting to challenge Zane to boost Syrus' confidence." Alexis told Emily, "I'll look for Zane, Jaden should be heading to the Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm for Zane."
"That's definitely the kind of thing Jaden would do." Emily nodded in agreement. "Hopefully I can convince him not to."
With that she ran off towards the Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm. Alexis walked off herself to somewhere else.
While on the way Emily found Jaden only he was grumbling, and looking down. Jaden looked at his sister saying, "Oh hey, Ems..." He then sighed, "I tried to find Zane to challenge him but you know how Obelisks are."
"Not all of them." Emily pointed out only to frown. "But I get what you mean."
"And I tried submitting a request form but Crowler took it, and ripped it apart." Jaden sighed, "Man, who knew wanting a duel like this would be this complicated?"
"He ripped up your form?" Emily asked in confusion before shaking her head. "You want to duel Zane because of Syrus right?"
He looked at her asking, "How did you figure that out?"
"Alexis, Jasmine, Mindy, and I heard about his duel with you." she answered.
"Oh yeah. I looked into his hand why exactly he hesitated, and when I saw Power Bond, I asked him why he didn't use it. He said, that while he was younger he was dueling against this bully, and had a winning move but Zane stepped in, and after bribing that guy off, told Syrus that he had Spellbinding Circle which would have Syrus lose the match. Then what did Zane do? He only scolded him." Jaden clenched his hands, "I wouldn't do something like that to you, sis."
"No you wouldn't, then again you're the one who might run into a trap." Emily smiled softly only to frown and shake her head. "Jaden, Syrus is planning on leaving the island."
"Wait what!?" Jaden cried shocked at this.
"He thinks he's just going to hold you back, he was planning on leaving so you could have a different partner." Emily explained. "I think he was heading to the beach near the Slifer Dorm with his bag."
"Why didn't you do anything!?" Jaden asked shocked before running off grabbing her hand, "Come on sis we gotta reach him before it's too late!" With that he ran off holding her hand.
"Jaden slow down!" Emily cried as she was dragged off. "Someone had to tell you what was going on!"
Meanwhile...
Zane himself was a dock at a lighthouse staring out at sea from a sunset before hearing something, and turned seeing Alexis.
"I had a feeling I'd find you here." she mentioned as she stood next to him.
Zane looked back at sea before asking her, "I heard from Sheppard, you went to the Abandoned Dorm, and gotten taken. Did you find any clues about Atticus?"
"No, nothing." she admitted. "I'm guessing you heard about Emily, Jaden, and Syrus though?"
"Indeed all three of them engaged in two matches with opponents of Crowler's choosing." Zane answered at this, "Lose, and they'll be expelled."
"Don't sound so excited, it's not like your brother's future here is on the line or anything." Alexis frowned.
"I'm not saying it like that if that's what your saying." Zane told her looking over, "This is Syrus' greatest test as a duelist. I can tell Crowler will bring in three opponents that are tournament quality. The rest would be up to him, Jaden, and Emily."
"Maybe not, Syrus is planning on leaving before the match." Alexis pointed out.
Hearing that Zane closed his eyes before they heard something looking over.
Meanwhile...
Syrus had finished building a raft before looking at Duel Academy, "Someone better then me will do fine then Jaden. At least I know, I won't have you kicked out."
"Sy!" Jaden cried running to him along with Emily.
Freezing Syrus looked before hopping on trying to row away. Seeing that Jaden jumped into the water before grabbing the raft.
"Jaden let go! I'll get us both kicked out!" Syrus told him.
"No way Syrus." Jaden told him. "We'll be fine, who cares what your brother said."
"I stink, I'm only a lost cause." Syrus argued.
"He's right you know."
Hearing that they looked seeing Zane, and Alexis just arrived.
"So your leaving?" Zane asked him.
"Uh, yeah." Syrus nodded dejectedly.
Zane only turned away with closed eyes, "It's about time." Syrus looked down upon hearing that.
"What was that?" Jaden questioned as Emily frowned.
"How can you say that about your own brother?" she asked him.
Zane opened his eyes turning to them, "You heard what he said he is, a lost cause."
Syrus looked down more at that.
"What gives you the right to decide if someone's a lost cause? Just because he lost a duel or two?" Jaden questioned. "Well you know what, I will pick a duel with you right now!"
"Oh really? I should probably let you know, against your sister I was holding back against her." Zane informed Jaden, "If you duel with me, you won't get any mercy, do you understand?"
"You were holding back?" Emily asked in shock before frowning. "Jaden, if that's true there's no way you can beat him."
"Maybe but still I'm gonna try, it's better then not doing anything at all." Jaden told her before asking Zane, "So Zane, what do you say about dueling me?"
Zane gave a challenging smirk, "Didn't back down... Alright then Jaden, I'll accept your challenge. Follow me." With that Zane heads off somewhere for them to follow.
"Jaden..." Syrus whispered as they all followed Zane.
It was now night where Jaden, and Zane are ready with Emily, Syrus, Alexis, Jasmine, Mindy (Who both came cause Alexis informed them Jaden managed to challenge Zane), and Chumley cause he was around while looking for Syrus are at the sidelines at the lighthouse Alexis, and Zane were.
"If I were you kid, I would not think of holding back." Zane told him.
Jaden only grinned, "Oh, I'm more then thinking that! You dueled against my sis, but let's see about me shall we?" He then turned to Emily, and Syrus, "And you two watch close okay?"
"Be careful Jaden." Emily frowned.
Jaden nodded as he turned to Zane who asked, "You ready?"
"I'm always ready for a match." Jaden grinned.
With that the duel began.

At Zane's command Zwei charged a blast attacking Ocean which Jaden called, "It will cause I'm using Hero Barrier!"

"That's his most powerful monster." Emily explained.
"It is?" Mindy asked hearing that.
After sending the cards Jaden added, "Next is Ocean's own ability!" Ocean glowed as he explained, "I take 1 HERO from my graveyard, or I control, and place it back to my hand. And I choose the Elemental HERO Bubbleman!" He takes the bubble hero card before adding, "Next up, I use Miracle Fusion!"

"Well, as far as attack points go." Emily clarified. "This next monster might be one of his best monsters though."
The two fused together as suddenly they appear at a galaxy where Jaden is behind it with the earth behind him.
"HERO of the Earthen Lands! Combine together with the trident wielding guardian, and form together into a legendary planet built for Earth! Fusion Summon! Level 8, save the galaxy! Elemental HERO Terra Firma!"
What appeared was a large white warrior with blue gems on his shoulders, and head with a red jewel on his chest looking muscular ready as they appear back at Duel Academy.

"Yeah there were a series of cards based on each of the Planets all having really powerful abilities." Jasmine explained to him.
"They were created by someone who is talented but they were lost back then." Mindy explained before turning to Jaden, "We never seen one before but he has one of them?"
"Yeah, it was the first Elemental HERO Jaden got and it's what inspired our decks." Emily mentioned. "Actually, it's part of one of our most powerful combos when paired with Absolute Zero."
"And he's sticking with me ever since! Let me show ya!" Jaden grinned, "First I'll summon Elemental HERO Lady Heat!"
Flames rose before what emerged was a female fire HERO different from Burstinatrix.

What rose behind him was a large mechanical serpent dragon roaring.

"Jaden!" Syrus cried seeing that.
Jaden slowly stand, "Hey don't worry Sy... it'll take more then that to keep me down!"
"Well now I use Cyber Repair Plant." Zane said using the spell he revealed.

"If there's a Cyber Dragon in the graveyard, I can do one of two effects. However if it's 3 or more, I can do them both. I have a regular Cyber Dragon, and both Zwei, and Hertz who both are Cyber Dragons so not only do I take my third Cyber Dragon in my hand, I can also shuffle back Herz to my Deck."
He shuffles the card while adding a third Cyber Dragon to his hand, "That ends my turn Jaden."

"Well Zane your strong I'll tell you that... But I'm not this far from giving up!" Jaden grinned.
Zane acknowledged with a nod, "Same to you, you certainly know how to play your cards."
That doesn't go un noticed by Syrus, 'Knowing how to play your cards...?'
"Well now, it's my turn!" Jaden drew looking.
"Emily?" Alexis asked her seeing that.
"Mom taught Jaden the difference... back then." she answered quietly.
They looked over before Jaden called, "Now, I activate The Warrior Returning Alive!"

"I take a Warrior back to my hand or in this case my Extra Deck!" Jaden said taking Terra Firma back to his Extra Deck before adding, "Next with it the only card in my hand, I can summon Elemental HERO Bubbleman!"
Bubbleman rose up readying with a grin.

"Jaden needs something big now that Future Fusion didn't bring out his monster." Chumley pointed out.
Jaden looks at his drawn cards before grinning, "I summon Blazeman!"
At that Blazeman rose up readying.

"I'll not use his first ability cause, I am using his second!"
"Second ability?" Mindy asked hearing that before turning to Emily, "Doesn't Blazeman just add a Polymerization to the hand?"
"Actually no, here take a look." she mentioned showing Mindy her copy of Blazeman.
Mindy reads, "It sends an Elemental HERO to the graveyard to become that monster's attribute, attack, and defense points?"
"Like Necroshade!" Jaden sends the card.

"Next, I use Polymerization!" Jaden added.

Bubbleman, and Blazeman flew up combining.
"HERO of the Blazing Fire! With your dark flames, combine with the waters of the bubble justiciar to form into a darkened warrior that has a sharp claw! Fusion Summon! Be ready to save the night, Level 8! Elemental HERO Escuridao!"
The same monster Emily used to defeat Zane rose up readying her claw.

Emily's eyes widened. "Wait a... Jaden why do you have Escuridao? I'm the one who has those HEROes."
"What do you mean?" Jasmine asked her hearing that.
"Elemental HERO Absolute Zero, Great Tornado, Gaia, The Shining, Escuridao, and Nova Master are six special Elements HERO monsters that need any HERO and a monster of the right attribute to Fusion Summon them. When we both started using Elemental HERO cards we both agreed I'd use the six of them in my deck while he used cards like Flame Wingman, and Thunder Giant." Emily answered.
"Well Ems believe it or not, I found a copy of Escuridao myself, and decided to only use it whenever I really need it." Jaden told his sister, "I guess this match counts as such."
She nodded at that. "Well Escuridao will definitely come in handy. Especially with her little trick."
"Which is gonna help! Go Escuridao!"
She charged in swiping her claws at Eternity Dragon destroying it while Zane watches. (Zane: 2000/Hand: 2)
"Not bad but beating me with the same card your sister used against me won't work twice." Zane said before saying, "As Eternity Dragon is destroyed, it's ability summons a Cyber Dragon from my graveyard!"
Said dragon rose with a growl.
Cyber Dragon: (Attack Position)
"Then as a Machine Fusion Monster was destroyed, I can banish Pharos from the graveyard to add a special spell to my hand." Zane added taking a spell which Syrus has a clear idea what card it is.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Alexis frowned.
"He didn't do badly, but Jaden's just about done for. He really should learn to stop challenging Obelisks." Mindy pointed out. "He's just not at that level... not yet anyway."
"What do you mean?" Emily asked confused.
"Just watch Emily, my brother would use this combo if he wanted too in your match with him." Syrus told her.

Zane drew looking before saying, "I use D.D.R - Different Dimension Reincarnation!"

"By sending a card from my hand to the graveyard, I can summon the Cyber Dragon, I had banished earlier."
At that said dragon rose up.

"Then I use the spell..." he raised a card which was the one that he added with Pharos, "Power Bond!"
She blinked and turned to see what Zane was planning.

"With this card, I am able to Fusion Summon a Machine Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck by selecting cards from my hand, or field!" Zane said as the two Cyber Dragons on his field, and the one in his hand all flew up fusing together.
Emily's eyes widened. "Three Cyber Dragons?"
"Three Dragons of the Cyber Art! Reform together to your true self with the power of light! Fusion Summon! Level 10, Cyber End Dragon!"
What rose was a giant mechanical winged dragon with three heads roaring.

"4000 points!" Emily cried in shock.
"Yeah, that's Zane's best monster and thanks to Power Bond it's attack points are doubled." Alexis pointed out.
Cyber End Dragon: (ATK: 4000 * 2 = 8000)
"What the... 8000?" Chumley asked dumbfounded by the amount.
"You played good Jaden but not good enough." Zane told him before calling, "Cyber End Dragon attack with Super Strident Blaze!"
The dragon charged a large blast firing at Escuridao destroying her while Jaden watched.

Hand: 0
Field: Nothing
Zane: 2000
Hand: 0
Field: Cyber End Dragon (Attack Position/ATK: 8000)
Zane wins!
"Jaden!" Syrus cried worried.
Jaden only looked up with a grin, "Thanks for the duel Zane."
Zane only grinned back before turning walking off, "Perhaps Syrus has some hope after all with you."
"Well Zane, what do you think after dueling both of them?" Alexis inquired.
"Remember how I said that only Jaden is worth this Academy?" Zane asked her before saying, "Well I take it back they both could be interesting as long as they support each other."
"You don't have to worry about that, we always will." Jaden smiled before turning to Syrus. "And the same things goes for you
Syrus looked before nodding, "Right, and... now I'm willing to duel with you at the Tag Match."
Jaden grinned. "Awesome, we'll be sure to win."
