"Welcome, Midtown students," greeted the tour guide as she led the students down the great condors of the laboratory. Provided them with a long speech introduction to the facilities as she gave the whole class about Osborn Industries, Inc.
Nova started to dazed off, hearing half of what the woman had to say. She yawned in boredom and glanced over at her brother and his admirer, Mary Jane.
Peter was so absorbed by the laboratory sensory, like a child in Disney World for the very first time. As for MJ, she drafted down notes and miner sketches in her notebook that she carried as they walked. Nova thought about asking MJ if she could get a copy of her notes at the end of the trip.
"We are a leading global manufacturer Osborn operates, a quarter one hundred and ten major manufacturing and seventh research and development facilities worldwide," the tour guide continued, sounding like a documentary with a sophisticated tone that could comfortably put anyone to sleep. Nova could feel the effects of the tour guide's power as she gave a mighty yawn. It felt like she was about to doze off any second while listening to this woman with half the words she barely could comprehend herself.
"Hey, long legs," whispered Harry into her ear. Almost making Nova jump out of her skin.
"Oh jeez, Harry!" she scowled, "You almost gave me a heart attack!"
He chuckled and wrapped his arm over her shoulder. Nova could smell the fresh musk of the colon illuminated from his body. Making her noise twinge. "Sorry about that, long legs," he said to her, hushing his voice down. "Say, let us ditch this joint and head to my dad's office. There you can see a great view of the laboratory."
Nova pushed his arm away over her shoulder, "Na, I am good," she said, "But you can take Peter there instead, for he is more interested in this stuff than I am," she insisted. She was aware of Harry's smooth tricks for she had heard them so many times back in middle school. Even though the temptation was luring, Nova did not want to fall for him so easily. Deeply, she does like him but fears if she shows any endearment, it might lead to something else that she is not fully ready for yet.
"Oh come on," begged Harry, as he held her hand, "I won't try anything, I promise, my dad would be there. It's main ideas for the cemetery project."
Nova raises an eyebrow, "I'm not sure-"
"You want to out beat your Peter and MJ, don't you?" he asked.
Nova glanced over at Peter, seeing him sliding his hand on the guiding rails. She always wanted to impress her caretaker for once and it would be so nice to glute into Peter's face. He can't always be great at everything.
"So, are you in?" Harry asked again, still holding her hand.
At the moment Nova was about to respond. A loud, horrified scream blared out. She turned her head and saw Peter fling his hand into the air, as something black and hugged flew up before falling towards Mary Jane and landing on her bosom. MJ's face turned pale as she stared at the thing. Spider?!
Mary Jane screamed, "Oh my God!!" as she staggered back while Nova rushed past her.
"Peter!" Nova cried out as she rushed to her cousin's aid. He collapses to the ground, clinging to his bleeding hand.
"The spaz is freakin out!" Howled Flash.
Nova tries to set Peter up, "Peter!" She called his name again, kneeling beside him. She could see a puddle of his breakfast mixed with his dinner from last night. She covered her mouth at the sight, almost hacking herself.
"Oh my god!" MJ continued screaming, and the spider slowly crawled up her pink blouse, towards her face. "Oh my God, get it off me!!!" she squealed as she fanned the notebook book in hand until she finally flicked it away. The spider flipped off and landed on a new target in front of her.
Nova felt something land on the back of her neck, but before she could even react. A sharp sting stuck through her spine. She screamed in pain.
"What is going on here?" yelled Mr. Osborn, as he rushed into the chaos. His eyes were on the frightened teenagers.
Harry rushed in, snatching MJ's notebook from her, and swatted the giant arachnid off Nova's neck.
It bounced on the floor before it scattered itself towards the exit.
All the students screamed and jumped out of the way as the spider passed them.
"I got it! I got it!!" yelled Kong, as he stumped on the bug, making an enormous SPLAT!
The older Osborn stood in shock when he saw the spider being distorted and then his eyes went to the two teenagers laying on the ground and his son aiding a young girl.
"Nova," Harry called for her, "You okay?" he held onto her. Blood oozed from the back of her neck dripping onto his clothes.
She felt dizzy as everything started to spin and faded into darkness.
