Peter was in awe once again as he entered the establishment, just like when he first arrived. Before he could marvel any further, a woman greeted him.
"Are you Peter Parker?" she asked.
"I am he," Peter replied.
"Great! follow me, please," she said as she led him down the facilities. "Have you been here before?" she asked him as they made this short conversation.
"Actually yes," Peter nodded, "I was with my class for a tour last week."
"You mean the one that was attacked by the spider?"
"Have you heard about it?" Peter pondered the question.
"Heard about it? It was the talk of the town here."
"It was…. huh?" Peter was not shocked by this, for it did create a big scene.
Down the corridor, they turn into a room where a man in a lab coat is working with contained animals.
"Doctor Otto Octavius," the woman called, "Peter Parker is here."
The man turned and gave a friendly smile, "Ah, Parker, it's good to finally meet you," he removed his gloves and outstretched his hand to greet the boy.
"Doc Oct?" Peter said only to gain a sour look from the doctor.
"Doctor Octavius," he corrected Peter, "I heard you're quite talented in the science arts."
"Oh, well, that's," his eyes started to wonder when he saw something, "Hey, I wouldn't mind having one of those 9-640's," he pointed and rushed over like a curious child.
"Oh, you don't want that," said Octavius, "It's an old one." He closely followed Peter to the machine.
"Can I have it when you throw it out?" he jokingly smiled.
"Sure," he said, "But let's move into important matters, Peter. I heard about the unfortunate incident with the arachnid experiment?"
Peter narrowed his eyes at the doctor, not liking where this was heading.
"I hope that you and your sister—"
"Cousin," Peter corrected him.
"Cousin…. Haven't had any odd side effects. Like Dizziness? Drowsiness?" the old doctor called out some other Side effects.
"Well, there has been a little," he hummed, "but that's normal for her once a month. Boy, you would not want to mess with her on those days," he chuckled before he caught a few live animals in glass containments. "What are the animals for anyway?" he asked as he approached a white rabbit.
"We check the blood work for reactions," said Octavius.
"Reactions?" Peter repeated.
"Yes," he nodded, "Just sample blood work." A sly smirk crept up. "Have you ever had your blood work, Peter?"
"Oh yeah, you know, physicals," he said as he moved further away from the doctor, for he was getting a bad feeling around him. "Hey, what does this machine do?"
"Well, why don't we take some of yours and I can show you what we do here," he said as she slipped his hand into his lab coat.
"No, that's okay," Peter said as he went up to the machine, "I'd like to keep my all in its original container."
Suddenly, Peter could feel that tingling feeling up his neck.
What was that?
He stumbled back, still unsure what was that feeling and it was getting stronger when suddenly—
"Hey, what are you doing?" Peter felt his sleeve pulled up and behold a needle stabbed him through the arm. "Hey! What the heck is wrong with you?!" he screamed before pulling away.
"Just taking a sample," Octavius said so calmly.
However, Peter was not so calm and went to make a run for it.
Strangely, no one went after him. Octavius smiled as he looked at the vile in hand before making a phone call.
