The faint smell of the burn scene twists Nova in and out of her consciousness. Only to be awakened by a throbbing pain. She groaned as she tried to set herself up, while holding up her head with her hand. Her other hand presses something soft. She hazily glanced over seeing that she was surrounded by large royal pillows of reds, greens and blues. Puzzled, she looked around in the dimly lighted room. "Where am I?" She uttered, trying to piece together what happened with her clouded memory.

Suddenly, there was a faint whisper, "This was the third glass repair at the Sanctum Sanctorum this year," said a man, with a strange accent. More likely not american. Nova looked around and could not see where the voice was coming from before realizing her high detecting hearing. The voice continues to rant on but more in a different language she could not decoded.

"Settle down, Wong," said another voice, strong yet smooth, "I can repair it once the girl wakes up and leaves. But for now, we need to figure out what she is and why she is here,"

Nova manages to get herself up. Her legs were a bit wobbly and part of her clothing was badly turned with blood stains. Was this her blood? She examined herself, not seeing a single scratch on her where there were open gaps and blood stains. Was this a new ability that she just discovered? She slightly laughed, "What you know, I'm still alive," she muttered as she continued to walk out of the room.

There were no doors, but a beaded curtain that she pulled apart. Creating a clicking chiming sound that made her wince.

"Ah, you are awake," said a man, standing a few meters away from her outside the doorway, along with another man who looked like a monk or some sort. "We were not expecting you to be up and walking so soon after your surprising entries," continued the man, pointing his gaze at shattered glass on the hard stone floors. He was fairly handsome and wore blue like robe clothing and a red cape cloaked over his shoulder. Nova could feel her cheeks burning with flush as she gazed at the man who she is half his age. She glanced up, seeing the opening where she fell through. It was a three story drop. Not a normal human could survive from that kind of height.

A nervous sweat ran down her forehead, "I-I'm so sorry," Nova squeaked out, "I don't know what had happened… I was chasing this man who robbed the deli meat store and-" her face turned pale as she recalled the glowing yellow eyes that stared at her. The two men noticed her change of face reaction. She looked around, "Was it here?" She asked.

The man in the cloak raised a brow and crestly rubbed his beaded chin, "What was here, exactly?"

"The monster that was chasing me…" she said.

The monk, seemily the same age as the man, looking at him, "Stephen," he whispered, "Do you think she was chased by an unnatural being?"

The man named Stephen shook his head and whispered back, "I'm afraid not, Wong. If it was, I would have since it and this girl seems not normal as well,"

Nova's ears perked as she overheard the men whispering.

"Do you think she is a mutant?" the monk, Wong, whispered very lowly.

Nova quickly reacted, "I am not a mutant!!" She snapped, making the monk jump knowing she heard him.

"Settled down kid," Stephen held up his hand, "He didn't mean to offend you," he looked over at his friend, "Wong, won't you mind making us some tea as I investigate this matters,"

The monk nodded and quickly secured out of the main hall into another room. Supposedly the kitchen Nova thought.

"Now then, come with me," the cloak man beckoned her to follow him, "I have some questions to ask you,"

Nova glanced over, seeing the double doors, that it could be possible for her to escape out. The only thing she was thinking was heading home but then again, the creature might still be out there. Maybe I'll be safe if I stay here, she thought as she followed the man into the room she came out of. He led her to a low table and kneel down on both of his knees on a cushion beside the table. "Let me properly introduce myself," he said, as Nova sat across from him in an Indian style. "I am Doctor Stephen Strange. I help the inner mind and bodies. I help those who need it and those that seek my help," he looked at her, "So tell me, who are you and how did you manage to come through my sunroof?"

Nova gulped as she bit her inner cheek. She and Peter made a pact not to tell anyone of their powers or secret identity after what happened to her with Norman Osborn and his assistant, Doctor Octavious, with her brother to trap them. Luckily they had not heard from them for over a week after they escaped, but it still paranoias her that they might ambush them once again. But this man was nice. Even though she broke into his property and caused some damages. He was still calm about it.

Nova took a deep breath, "My name is Nova Parker. I live in downtown Queens and my… partner and I were looking to make some quick bucks to help our caretakers after we discovered our new abilities," she was not lying but she didn't want to tell a stranger everything. Stephen nodded his head as she spoke but urged her on to continue, "Eh…. well… my partner and I lost our job after some misunderstanding took place and we feel like we were no longer welcome,"

"So, you are Lady Arachnid from UCW, aren't you?" He said. Nova felt like everything slowed down around her. How did he know! Stephen pulled out a mask. Her mask! "You were wearing it when you fell through, may have gotten damage from the shards of glass but it held together," Nova sat frozen, staring at the mask and he kept talking, "Also Wong is a big fan of the show and I know you and your partner are a big hit. Was not expecting you being a kid and I assumed he must be the same age as you as well,"

Nova starts to feel uncomfortable. What a fool she was to use her stage prop to chase after bad guys and pretend to be a superhero. If only she listened to Peter and stayed out of it. Maybe she should have let the robber go and she would have not been chased by that deformed green monster on roof tops. She would still have her hoodie and be heading home with Peter now. But no, she had to stick her nose where it shouldn't be.

The doctor looked at her with concern, "I have a feeling you wanted that to be kept a secret?" Nova nodded her head, "Well then," he softly smiled, "You don't have to worry, you're secret's safe with us. As long as you use the front door starting now," he handed her mask to her.

Shocked and relieved that her second identity was safe, "Thank you, sir," said Nova, as she received her masked back and stuffed it into her pocket. Wishing she still had her hoodie.

"Tea is ready," said Wong, as he entered the room carrying a tea set tray.

"Splendid, thank you Wong," said Stephen as the tea cups were set in place before them.

"I do need to remind you," Said the monk, as Nova was about to drink her tea, "That you have an appointment at eight o'clock sharp with the minister in a few hours," the girl spat and almost choked on her drink, getting some on the two men.

"Wait what?! What time is it?" She glanced around for a clock.

Strange brushed the splatter liquid off her cloak, "It's a quarter to eight," he said, not pleased how the girl reacted.

Nova jumped up on her feet, "Oh crud! May is going to kill me if I'm late!" She dashed out of the room, "Thank you for the tea!" She called out before disappearing in thin air.

The two men blank at what just happened.

"What was that about?" Asked Wong, as he wiped up the mess Nova left behind.

Strange face turns into a serious look, "I don't know but I do pray the best of luck to that child. She would need it," he took a sip of his tea, "I have a feeling we will meet her again in the future,"

Meanwhile, somewhere in the dark allies. A creature trying to fight in and out of his once human conscience. It clings onto a black hoodie, that it stripped away from a masked girl over an hour ago before disappearing from his sight, just like someone he knows. Her voice sounded so familiar and even the hoodie looks familiar. He brought it up to his disform face and smelled it. A spark of his past memory jolt back of a girl he had in his grasp. A girl that he has been keeping an eye on that led him to his unfortunate events. His teeth gritted together as he growled, "Mmmerker…"

With fury, he ripped apart the fragile fabric until there was nothing left, but it didn't satisfy him. He wanted the real thing. He wanted to see, taste, and feel her blood. No, their blood! It was equally the boys fault as hers. They turn him into this!

He lifts up his head to smell the air, picking up the young teens scent. He smiled, "Mmmorvaaa…" he growled as charged through the dark streets to find his prey.
