Chapter 1
introducing Partners: Pikachu and Eevee
Pikachu and Eevee were, rivals, they don't hate each other, but they were rivals in impressing people, both wanted to impress whoever they cared about, loved, or thought are amazing, that's why people who see them call them rivals, they keep trying to prove that there better than the other, but they seem too have almost an identical mind, they love the same person, care, and are kind and loving to share.
"Pikachu!", Eevee called.
"Over here", Pikachu said, "was just getting some berries."
"Oh", Eevee said, then he realized, "wait, that was why I was looking for you."
"You wanted berries?" asked Pikachu.
"No, I wanted to give you some, I didn't know you got some, I didn't see you leave the man's lab."
"wait, when did you get berries, I didn't see you leave either."
"I didn't leave, a boy, a human got me them, he was nice."
"he wasn't in a big group of kids with that Oak man leading them, right?"
"ya, he was, why?"
"he also got me to mine too."
"Really?"
"ya, I was going to eat the berries and go thank him."
"I'm not gonna wait for you to do that", then Eevee jumped over Pikachu and dashed away, disappearing in 3 seconds.
"What?" Pikachu was confused, then he realized that Eevee had gone before him to thank the boy, "hey! Wait, Eevee! get back here" he shouted, and then dashed away.
Wandering in the forest was.. easy, for someone who knew where to go that is.
Well, that wasn't the case for Ash.
"I really should've asked for a map," he said, wondering where to go to find the berries.
`Why aren't these berries found easily, like the berries that I found for the Pikachu and Eevee?` He thought, `but Then, the professor wouldn't have told us to go search for them, would he?`
"Pika Pika!" a voice was heard.
"hey ah, boy ah," Pikachu called.
"you need to call him by his name", Eevee said, " or he won't know-"
"do you know his name?"
"ah, nnno?" Eevee replied, "but."
"hmm?" the boy noticed them, "oh! It's you two, the Pikachu and Eevee from before."
"ya, we came to say thank you", Pikachu said.
"do you need anything?" he asked.
"ah, Pikachu! A human", Eevee said.
"oh! Right", Pikachu replied, then he started to move his paws and head in a way, trying to say thank you.
"umm, oh! You're trying to say something, hmmm, thank you?" the boy asked, telling the Pokémon his thought, Pikachu nodded, "all right I got it quickly, I'm guessing for the berries, right?", when the Pikachu and the Eevee nodded, he continued, "well, sure, if you need more sometimes, just tell me", he started looking around, "these are all normal, seriously, do I need to go to Viridian city to find these berries?" the boy said to himself in frustration.
"Wait, what berries?" Pikachu and Eevee asked, but to the boy(Ash) it just sounded like Pikachu saying "Pikachu?", and Eevee saying "Eevee ve?", Pikachu and Eevee gave the boy a questioning look, so thinking he got the message, he explained.
"I'm searching for some rare ingredients. professor Oak told us to go search for them, so we can make a special recipe of some sort, he said it's so tasty for both humans and Pokémon and full of things that can make even Snorlax full!"
" Are you sure he's not just exaggerating?" Pikachu asked.
"I'm not sure even if he said it seriously", replied Eevee, "but let's help, umm, the boy whose name I don't know, introduce yourself already!" Eevee raised his voice in that last part.
"what." The boy didn't know what was being said, so he was a little confused when Eevee raised his voice, Pikachu went to a tree that is nearby, and picked up a berry, "you want me to help you get more berries?", Pikachu shook his head, no, that wasn't what he meant, Pikachu tried his best to explain using body language, the boy didn't understand, Eevee then helped Pikachu by getting the berry from him, giving it to the boy then picking up another and giving it to him, "oh! You want to help me."
"yes, finally!" both shouted.
"you know, I changed my mind", Pikachu said, "I don't wanna-"
"oh no you don't, you're not going now", Eevee interrupted.
"look! I'm not trying to run away, but it's so hard to communicate, and", Eevee silently stared at Pikachu, "OK, we can find solutions, who am I kidding, this is going to be fun!"
"I knew it", Eevee said, "you and I never back down from something like that."
Three smiles, on three faces, two Pokémon and one human, they were so happy, Ash had explained what ingredients they have to find, and Pikachu and Eevee were searching, Ash found a few, and Pikachu and Eevee found the other few.
Now they were back at professor Oak's summer camp, and the professor wasn't in view, he was making the `mysterious secret recipe `, what's so mysterious about it? hmm, I wonder.
Pikachu and Eevee were playing around Ash, sometimes hitting him with tackles, he didn't mind though.
"attention!"
Everyone looked to the source of the voice, it was professor Oak.
"you all went to the forest and gathered the necessary ingredients for this recipe, so here you go everyone", the professor then put plates of food, with his grandsons helping, Gary Oak, Blue Oak, who was almost identical to Gary, and the third was Daisy Oak, "be sure to not eat very quick and-"
"Don't worry grandpa, we'll be", said blue calmly.
The food was, `indescribably delicious!`, Ash, Pikachu, and Eevee were eating the third plate, the professor warned Ash that he was eating too much, Ash lost hope, except that Eevee had a trick of his sleeve, not Baby-Doll Eyes, but cute controlling like eyes, Oak couldn't resist, and he gave them more.
"Eevee! You're the best", Pikachu said in his language, while Ash said it in human language.
"oh! Thanks, Pikachu, does this mean I get a point?" Eevee asked playfully.
"in your dreams", Pikachu said.
"o-come-on."
It was night, the kids were going to tents, Pikachu and Eevee followed Ash, which worried Oak `this is not good, why did he have to give them berries? I'm happy for the boy, but…-`
"are you OK grandpa?" blue asked his grandfather.
"yes, just deep in thought, did you like summer camp this year?" Oak asked.
"hmm, I did", blue said with a nod, "but I wonder, who are those Pikachu and Eevee? Where did they come from?"
"That is my concern, they are too friendly. that is why they stayed in my lab for the last year, I'll explain about them later…", Oak said, worry obvious in his voice and on his face.
"OK, gramps", blue responded.
`Wow! gramps is really worried, I wonder what's going on` blue thought, he then turned to go to his bed in the camp, only to see Ash asleep, Pikachu and Eevee on him, trying their best not to wake him up, and finding a comfortable way to sleep.
Morning- in Oak's camp…
The Oak family were the first people up, the professor especially.
"whoa, are you serious?" Gary asked daisy, who nodded.
"dragging gramps like that isn't easy, even for humans, and Pokémon?" Blue said, "you're definitely joking."
"no, I'm not", Daisy said.
"Morning guys."
The three turned to the voice's source.
"Ash, morning", Blue said, "Sleep well?"
"hmm, of course I did", the eight-year-old replied.
"I wasn't sure of that until now, there were two Pokémon on you, how did you-"
"whoa wait, there weren't two Pokémon on me, were there?" the boy asked.
"oh! So his name is Ash", Eevee said.
"OK, now we can stop calling him, `boy we do not know the name of`", Pikachu said, trying to mimic Eevee's yesterday words.
"sorry OK?"
"I'm just kidding, Eevee."
"Hey! You two", Pikachu and Eevee turned to Ash, "sleep well?"
"hmm", both replied.
"Blue told me you were asleep on me, is that right?" both nodded.
"he was soft", Eevee said.
"I know, right?" Pikachu said, "ya, we probably shouldn't have done that."
"Well, next time, can you please tell me? I can get you covers, also we can play before we go to sleep", Ash said, the two Pokémon nodded.
"Are you serious?" Blue was the one who talked, "I warned you about these two."
"Hey! What did we do to you?" Pikachu and Eevee were a little frustrated.
"now now, let's not get angry, OK?" everyone looked at the professor.
Blue was about to defend "but-"
"no buts blue, please, I was a little worried not because these two" Oak pointed to Pikachu and Eevee "are unfriendly, it's because they're different."
"Different?" blue asked.
"yes, different, you see, they are too strong for normal untrained Pokémon, and after a lot of time researching them, I have noticed that they even have different DNA than the normal Pokémon's, so I am worried that this is too much for a none expert Pokémon professor", Oak explained, "but I do not think that they are harmful, in fact, I think that they're too much friendly and overprotective."
Professor Oak remembered that time when two thieves attacked his lab and stole Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, he chased after them, one of them attacked him using a Golbat, the Golbat was immediately knocked out when Pikachu and Eevee attacked, but Pikachu's thunder shock hit Oak as well, he remembers that surprising pain and remembers Eevee dragging him back to his lab after getting the starter Pokémon back.
"so are they good or-", Ash wondered.
Blue sighed in defeat, "Yes, Ash, you can be friends with them."
"Moving on, can you four help me and gather the Pokémon in the lab? It's the second to last day", Oak requested.
"wait! Second to last?" Ash, Gary, and Blue's excitement was clear on their faces and in their voice.
"that means-"
"it's Pokémon battle time", Ash finished Gary's sentence.
"Ash and Red! It's your turn", Oak told the boys from his judging spot, where the kids battled, Ash and Red, like Gary and Blue, were almost lookalikes.
`OO! OK, I give up`, Ash thought, `I don't stand a chance.`
Red was known for his power, even without any Pokémon, he's the one who stops bullying with just a few words, `less talk, more action`, that was his way.
"Ready?" Red asked, getting Ash out of his thoughts.
"I don't know", the eight-year-old replied.
"Where did all the confidence go?"
"I don't know."
"What Pokémon are you going to choose?"
"I don't know."
"Are you OK?"
"just thinking."
"OK, usually I'm the one who doesn't make conversation", Red said after a few seconds of silence.
"ya, I know", Ash replied, "and I'm the one who loves to make one, but I don't know what Pokémon to pick."
"These two have been following you for a while, maybe they want to battle with you", Red said, pointing to Pikachu and Eevee.
Ash looked at the two, "do you want to battle with me?"
"ya, I can battle", Eevee was the first to answer, and he also nodded.
"OK, so Eevee it is then."
"in your face Pikachu", Eevee looked at Pikachu.
"mmmm", Pikachu said, frustrated.
The two humans either did not care about what was, or they had amazing skills in hiding it, this is mostly for Red, as Ash didn't know.
Oak didn't give the kids Pokémon like Charizard or Dragonite, he made them battle just to feel like they were trainers, this was to prepare them for their Pokémon journey after all, so there were Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Poliwag, Bellsprout, and the first stage Kanto starters…
Ash and Red stood on the battlefield.
That was.. really quick.
"what just happened?" Blue asked, in total confusion.
"Eevee just dominated that Charmander", a kid said.
Eevee did that. he just quickly attacked the Charmander, and then did that another couple of times, barely giving the Charmander time to attack.
"Whoa! You're amazing Eevee", Ash said.
"Oh! Thank you Ash", Eevee thanked the boy in his language, making sure he used body language.
