"I think we got away tonight," Olivia said, kissing him and snuggling back against his side. The house was finally quiet. They finally had some alone time. Eli was with Kathy, Noah and Lily were asleep. She sighed into his neck just before hearing it. The small sound of footsteps.
"There she comes," he says, smiling.
A small knock is heard at the door and the door opens. A little head full of dark hair peaks inside, looking at them with wild blue eyes.
"Helow," Lily said from her place by the door.
"Can we help you, Lilygirl?" Elliot said, sitting a little bit in the bed. Olivia groans as she is moved from her comfort.
"I sleep here," she said, pouting.
Olivia looked at the little girls, then at her husband, and sighed knowing what was about to happen.
"Of course you can, baby," Elliot responds before even asking her.
"El," she protests just as Lily jumps in the bed snuggling in between them.
"Come on, Liv, you gonna say 'no' to this face?" she looked down at Lily who widened her pleading eyes even more and pouted her little lips.
"Okay, but just tonight." Liv concedes at least.
Lily jumped in excitement and moved to pull the comforter over herself. "Mama, 'cuse me," she said, pushing Olivia a little farther away.
"Oh, now you want me to leave? Listen, kid, that's my husband right there." The girl looked at her snuggling even further into her dad's side.
"Babe, she's three," Elliot defends his little girl.
"Going on 30…" She looks down at the girl almost asleep.
"Don't worry, I'll make up to you." He promises. She rolls to the other side, getting ready to sleep.
"Liv?" he says as she turns the lamp off.
"Yep?"
"Thank you, I never thought I could be this happy." He says softly, pulling his baby a little closer, afraid she'd just disappear.
"I love you, I've never been this happy either."
