Raging Sea and Burning Ash 3
Chapter 3
-Percy-
As Percy got closer to the surface of the absurdly deep river, he started to hear shouting form the banks. Quickly returning Finizen and Kyogre, despite their adorable protests, Percy rocketed up to the shore. Breaching the surface of the river, he noted Ash alongside a massive blue beetle, getting screamed at by a flailing orangette with a mallet who seemed half furious, half terrified. Seeing her take a swing, the mallet looking like it would hit Ash in the face, his new friend guarding the blue beetle, Percy intervened.
Catching the wooden mallet with one hand, Percy scowled at the assailant "Back…" he growled darkly, clenching his fist as the wood shattered under his grip "off." Ignoring the girl falling on her ass in shock, Percy looked over his shoulder "You good Ash?"
"Yeah man just…holy shit." Ash was staring wide eyed at the wooden remains of the weapon Percy had just crushed one handed, "You've got to share your workout plan dude."
"Sure." Percy snorted dryly, "So what made this bitch try to brain you like that?"
"You're in my fishing spot!" the orangette apparently found her voice again at him calling her out, glaring at him angrily "And you owe me a new mallet!"
"This is a public route." Ash deadpanned "You can't 'own' any part of it."
"I don't care!" the girl stomped over "I'm going to be the greatest water trainer in the world and so I need more water Pokémon so get out of my fishing spot and take that disgusting bug with you!"
At her words, the blue bug seemed to wilt in on itself "Cross." It muttered dejectedly.
"Don't listen to her Heracross!" Ash consoled the Pokémon, one Percy remembered his travelling partner mentioning wanting to catch but hadn't expected to find here.
"Huh, so you did find one." Percy grinned, "I guess your luck was better than you thought." He shot a glance at the still angry orange haired girl "Or worse, hard to say." When she pulled a second mallet from…somewhere, Percy made an important discovery about this new world of Pokémon he found himself in.
Pokémon in their balls were still fully aware of their surroundings.
Letting itself out with a colossal roar, his new friend Gyarados towered over the suddenly terrified girl, snarling ominously as it leaned in to glower "Who dares threaten the Guardian of the Seas?!" oh lovely, he had a title now. Why did he always end up getting titles? As Gyarados spoke, Percy felt a pulse of energy from within the sea serpent, its expression becoming even more frightening as the Orange haired girl turned tail and ran away screaming.
"…You caught a Gyarados?" Ash gaped, working to process the sight of the giant majestic noodle of doom "Of course you did, after getting a baby Kyogre for a started I really shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore." Ash sighed, running a hand down his face "Still, I vote we just push on to Viridian rather than take our time. I'd rather not let that screeching orange Zubat find us again if we stick around."
Silently wondering what the hell a 'Zubat' was, Percy nodded "Let's go then. We can always jog since you apparently want to have gains like mine." Percy flexed smugly before turning to his Pokémon who'd stopped doing his best to look extra scary "Thanks for the backup there man. I'll bring you back out when we get to the center, want to make sure that tooth healed right." Getting a nod, he returned the giant snake.
"Tooth?" Ash raised an eyebrow as Percy pulled the knocked-out tooth from his pocket "…And why do you have a giant Gyarados tooth?"
"…He wanted me to prove my power if I was going to be looking after Kyogre, so I punched him in the face." Percy admitted as Ash seemed to finally decide trying to use reason when it came to him would just result in headaches.
"Of course you did. At least it'll look badass as a pendant or something." Ash shrugged before returning Heracross, Pikachu currently asleep in his bag, having somehow miraculously slept through the orange haired girl's screeching.
-Kyogre Matriarch-
Swimming through the seas, Kyogre felt the call from Arceus, a summons to council. Focusing, she opened a gateway to the council of legendaries, swimming through it and appearing in an orb of water within her 'throne'. Around her, the other legendaries were arriving at Arceus' call, a large scrying crystal floating above showing the Chosen one and that son of the sea, Percy. "Arceus, why have you summoned us?" Yveltal asked, apparently not noticing the large and obvious scrying crystal in use. Then again, the legendaries of Kalos had never been the brightest, she'd lost track of how many times Zygarde had gotten stoned off his ass, split into his small 'worm' forms and then couldn't find the rest of his own energy without help.
"Do ye not see the giant rock ya blind ditz?" the Galarian Moltres asked with a scoff, the legendaries of Kalos and Galar having always fought in a way that wasn't too similar to herself and Groudon with the animosity that could be shown.
"Shut up!" Yveltal snarled angrily, looking ready to start a fight right there in the throne room before Arceus slammed a hoof down onto the floor with a boom.
"Silence!" the ruler of the legendaries thundered, "We are here to observe the start of the chosen one's journey. And to learn more of the one travelling with him as they feel…unnatural."
"Oh, I can answer that." Kyogre gave the closest thing her body could to a shrug "I found him this morning. The powers that be in his world threw him into ours. Given my youngest wished to travel the world and that boy has a connection to the sea I allowed him to look after my child. He's also powerful, a good person to help cultivate the strength of the Chosen One."
"What good would one paltry human be without our blessing?" Ho-oh scoffed derisively as they all watched the two humans run into a 'Pokémon Center' to escape the rain.
"If what I see in the crystal is right, you'll see shortly." Kyogre snorted, seeing one of the sides of the crystal showed an artificial Drifblim shaped like a Meowth's head approaching the center, the Chosen one and the Sea Child unaware as they checked in, turning their Pokémon over to the healer there. The building was mostly empty, just a couple young humans as well as that nurse. Perhaps her new favorite humans would start finding mates? Human babies were adorable and would give more friends for her own little one to play with. Looking back at the artificial Drifblim, she saw it was over the building now, dropping small sticks with a string on fire, the sticks exploding on contact with the roof to blow open a hole. Inside, she saw her favorite humans react to the explosion and flying debris but in different ways.
The chosen one threw his hands out, putting himself between the explosion and the females as a pulsing blue shield of aura sprung up around the group to prevent the flying debris from causing harm. It was admittedly a shortly lived shield, the chosen one not yet used to using such power or trained in its efficiency, but he was young. He could learn.
The Son of the Sea lashed out with power all his own, grasping at the rain falling in through the new hole in the ceiling. The water swirled through the room, putting out fires caused by the explosions before freezing into lances aimed at the now gaping criminals who'd started reciting poetry for some reason.
The two boys charged the criminals, the Pikachu still at the side of the chosen one lashing out against a…Meowth that could speak like a human…that was new. The son of the sea was dodging around the attacks of a Koffing and an Ekans, his ice lances bashing and jabbing as the two human criminals were panicking most amusingly. In the end, the Chosen one had to whip up another hasty aura shield, reinforced with a water barrier, when the Chosen One's partner Pikachu's electricity hit the gas let out by that Koffing and triggered a large explosion, blasting the criminals away over the horizon.
"I believe that my chosen human will be of more than a little use in aiding the Chosen One." Kyogre informed the council smugly, feeling Groudon rolling his eyes at her back.
