The characters and the plots belong to their respective owners. I therefore own nothing, minus the names of my OCs. However, I do own the OC of Ava Grady as well as the DEFCON Year Universe books, which you can find on Amazon through typing "Defcon Year Ryan"
BTW : I sign this fanfic to the brave defenders of Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine, glory to heroes.

Months after taking part in the invasion of Russia and its downfall, Ava and her squad were now part of the invasion of China after sucessfully helping the Allied forces and the local resistance movements take over Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan before pushing further East towards Beijing. Ava and her fellow US Marines from her company were now involved in the battle for Beijing and had the task to provide cover for Norrie Vastano and her company.
As Ava and her men looked through their scope, they spotted Chinese snipers trying to fire their guns at the Allied troops, only for said snipers to get killed by Ava and the rest of C Company, who had become an effective fighting force despite half of their numbers being rookies who only booted for four months. Ava then looked through her scope towards the gate of the Forbidden City before sniping several Chinese soldiers and killing them as they tried to kill Allied troops. Little did Ava know she would be transfered back to the 2nd US Marine Division for the invasion of Eritrea once the invasion of China was over.
As she thought about the last steps of World War III, Ava saw Norrie Vastano and the latter's men breaching through the doors of Xi Xingping's official residence. For miinutes, Ava kept watching over rooftops, seeing only Allied forces positioned onto them, including American, New Zealand, Australian, Japanese, South Korean, French, Indonesian, British, Indian, Nepalese, Malaysian, Dutch, Singaporean, Taiwanese and Peruvian troops to quote only a few. Suddenly, Ava saw Norrie Vastano and her men bringing the body of one Australian soldier as well as Xi Xingping's body outside. Ava also saw many Chinese dignitaries being brought outside by several Allied troops as POWs while many dead Chinese soldiers were counted down.
Ava understood World War III would only end in a matter of days, months at most. And she would be right, since Summer 2027 would spell the end of the war and the beginning of a new era ruled by the West and its allies.
A few months after the successful invasion of China, the US and its allied of World War III had managed to take full control of Gaza area while also strenghthening their hold over Central Africa and Latin America, meaning they could now use more ressources than their only remaining enemy, Eritrea, while also invading the Chinese base in Djibouti. And Ava had indeed been transfered back to the 2nd US Marine Division for the invasion of this country in response to Eritrea's even more blatant human rights violations, going as far as liberating every single political prisoner held in underground prisons.
Indeed, Ava and the 2nd US Marine Division were now in the capital city of Eritrea after taking the ports as well as crossing the deserts of the country, surrounding most of the Eritrean military in the process, either killing or capturing hundreds of ill-motivated soldiers. The American military even managed to surround the different ministries of the Eritrean dictatorship. Ava was now in a narrow street of Asmara, where she aimed her M27 rifle towards a window when one of the most fanatical Afewerki supporter tried to use three Asian male civilians and a Caucasian American female tourist being forced out in the street at gunpoint alongside many Eritrean civilians. Suddenly, Ava saw one of the Eritreans had been forced to carry an explosive belt before she shot the armed Eritrean soldier.
Ava then motioned one of her men, who happened to be an EOD expert, to go to the booby-trapped man and defuse the bomb. Suddenly, the EOD expert got killed with a headshot from an Eritrean sniper, who was in turn killed by a USMC sniper from C Company of the 2nd US Marine Division. The reinforcements, consisting of the 6th US Marine Division, among whom Norrie Vastano, then arrived and secured the other side of the street before one of C Company's EOD experts went to the booby-trapped man and tried to defuse the bomb, to no avail, forcing Ava to run to the man, punch him in the face and push him in an empty building before he got blown to bits. Even if she did save hundreds of civilians, Ava still felt sad for the man.
But she didn't have time to cry, as bullets began hissing all the way around the US Marines, forcing Ava to leap onto her feet and run for the machine gun nest, which she fired upon before taking cover and preparing a M67 grenade. Ava the flicked the pin off before throwing the grenade at the Eritrean machine gunners, who barely had time to duck before the grenade went off, enabling Ava to run for the MG nest and gun these two soldiers down.
Ava then ran for another stronghold, which happened to be a cellar, before tossing a primed M67 grenade inside the cellar, killing the Eritrean soldiers inside. Ava double-checked it with a snake camera and was relieved no civilian was present in the building. As the rest of Ava's platoon went to her, she ran for a sniper's nest and kicked the door of the building, which happened to be the ministry of information. Once the door was open, Ava tossed a stun grenade, which went off, enabling Ava to barge into the room and kill the Eritrean soldiers protecting the sniper. Ava then neutralized another booby trap before carefully climbing the stairs, eliminating two other Eritrean soldiers on the way.
Once Ava reached the door to the sniper's perch, the door flew apart as another US Marine got killed by a hail of AK fire. Ava then silently paid her respects to her fallen subordinate before tossing a primed stun grenade, blinding the sniper and his spotter. Ava then went in the room before firing her M27 rifle at the three Eritrean soldiers inside, killing them with several bullets before letting the magazine of her rifle fall. Only to be forced into drawing her SIG-Sauer M18 pistol before using it against an Eritrean machine gunner who tried to kill her with a Tokarev TT-33. Ava shot the guy in the chest twice before finishing him with a headshot.
Suddenly, Ava reloaded her M27 rifle before sighting fellow US Marines invading the ministry of information and seizing all of the employees, even the minister himself. Ava smirked upon looking through the window, seeing a lot of Eritrean officials and soldiers being led to POW staging areas.
