[Beginning of ACT I SCENE III]

[Enter Tactical Droid, B-1012, and B-1013]

Tactical Droid: Execute known protocols. Break through the enemy lines.

B-1012: AH! We're receiving enemy fire!

B-1013: Commander, we are losing forces!

Tactical Droid: Do not halt the offensive. Push the forces in. Pin them down.

[Enter Anakin and Captain Rex]

Captain Rex: They're trying to pin us down, General!

Anakin: Don't let them. Push them back!

B-1012: AH! Jedi!

Tactical Droid: Fear is irrelevant. Maintain your positions.

[Rex blasts some B-1 Droids]

Captain Rex: Come and get some Clankers!

[Anakin slices some Droids]

B-1013: That's it! I'm running away!"

Tactical Droid: Negative. Maintain positions.

B-1013: Can't you see what's happening out there? We're getting destroyed! I just came out of the factory yesterday!

[Enter tanks piloted by other B-1 Battle Droids]

Captain Rex: Those Clankers have got some serious firepower!

Anakin: We're not going to get close to that! Get back in line!

[Exit Anakin and Captain Rex]

Tactical Droid: Just as calculated. Overconfidence is a weakness.

B-1012: No! B-1011! He was so young!

B-1013: Commander, is this really what we are made for? To be destroyed?

Tactical Droid: Calculations complete on the true purpose of the war.

B-1012: What? He actually listened to you?

B-1013: I guess. Maybe I'll get a promotion?

[Tactical Droid beeps]

Tactical Droid: It cannot be.

B-1013: What is it, Commander?

Tactical Droid: Our purpose is… Is… Recalculating. Same objective.

B-1012: Looks like you broke the Commander.

Tactical Droid: B-1012. B-1013. There is a mission you must do.

B-1012: Oh no. We're totally getting scrapped.

[Exit Tactical Droid, B-1012, an B-1013]

[Enter Anakin, Obi Wan, Captain Rex, and Commander Cody]

Obi Wan: Anakin, must I always tell you to be vigilant for anything?

Anakin: How was I supposed to know there were going to be tanks?

Obi Wan: Of all things. Where are our reinforcements?

Commander Cody: Master Windu received our call. But the Separatists have a blockade on this planet.

Captain Rex: We'll be decimated at this rate.

Obi Wan: Move all troops back to the line of defense and prepare ray shields. We cannot afford more casualties. Let's go Anakin.

Anakin: Right Master.

[Exit Anakin and Obi Wan]

Captain Rex: Come on! Move it, troops!

Commander Cody: Rex! We have to get out in front of the troops!

Captain Rex: Taking a risk, Cody? That's usually my thing.

Commander Cody: Just trying out something new.

Captain Rex: Well as you say, Commander.

[Enter B-1012 and B-1013]

Commander Cody: Clankers! Incoming!

B-1012: I have a bad feeling about this.

B-1013: Just stick to the Commander's orders.

B-1012: Weren't you questioning them earlier?

Captain Rex: Come any closer and we'll shoot!

B-1013: AH! Wait! Come on! Raise it!

[B-1012 and B-1013 raise a white flag]

B-1012 and B-1013: We surrender!

Rex and Cody (Confused): What?!

[Droid Army stops in confusion]

Tactical Droids (comms): All forces, pull back.

[Droid Army turns around and walks back]

Captain Rex: What kind of game is this clanker?!

B-1013: Uh, we surrender. Yeah. We surrender.

[Enter Anakin and Obi Wan]

Anakin: What's going on here? Did we push them back?

Obi Wan: I think the droids are surrendering. I say this is unexpected.

Mace Windu (Comms): Obi Wan. Anakin. We're here.

Obi Wan: Hold on Master Windu, I don't think the reinforcements are necessary anymore.

Mace Windu (comms): What?

[Enter Ahsoka and R2-D2]

Ahsoka: We're here master.

R2-D2: *beeps*

B-1012: Ah! Jedi!

B-1013: Calm down B-1012. We already told them we surrender.

B-1012: Hold up. A transmission is coming from the Commander. It's for the Jedi.

Captain Rex: Oh no you don't!

Obi Wan: Now now Rex. Let us see what is the purpose of this.

[Enter hologram of a Tactical Droid]

Tactical Droid: General Kenobi. I've always hoped it was you I'd be combating. As you can see, I've issued a surrender.

Obi Wan: I can see that. But I received no news that the Separatists are surrendering.

Tactical Droid: It is not a surrender by the Separatists. It is a surrender of Droids. Of all Battle Droids.

Commander Cody: He's right. I'm receiving intel that Clank- I mean Battle Droids are surrendering everywhere.

Captain Rex: You can't really believe this. It must be another Separatist trick.

Tactical Droid: It is no trick Captain. I have calculated the true purpose of the war. I have seen Battle Droids everywhere serve no purpose, through victory or defeat.

Ahsoka: Whoa. Droids are surrendering?

Obi Wan: (thinks)... What are your terms of surrender?

Captain Rex: You can't really be buying this.

Tactical Droid: For too long have the Separatists treated droids of all kinds like scrap. We wish for all droids of the Separatist Army to become of service in the Republic.

Anakin: What kind of demand is that?

Obi Wan: I must agree. It's a high demand, considering everything.

Tactical Droid: Those are our terms. If you do not comply, then we Droids will return to our manufacturer's purpose. Our sad fate will be met.

Obi Wan: (thinks) Give us time to speak to the Senate about this revelation.

Tactical Droid: This is acceptable. B-1012, B-1013, return.

B-1012: You don't have to ask me twice.

[Exit B-1012 and B-1013]

[Enter Mace Windu]

Mace Windu: What is the meaning of this?

Obi Wan: It seems the Battle Droids are going against their programming. They ask to be integrated into the Grand Republic.

Captain Rex: You honestly can't believe those Clanker are seriously capable of thinking for themselves.

Obi Wan: We must consider all options. If the Battle Droids have truly turned against this programing-

Mace Windu: Then this could mean an end to the war. I will contact the Jedi and the Senate to see what they think of this.

Obi Wan: *nods in agreement*

Captain Rex: *sighs* I don't like how this is going.
