'Hm? It's Viktor.'

One time Viktor visited the sewers with a large frown. Heine noticed Viktor seems to be in a bad mood but decided not to point out.

"This spot of seat is mine."

"Ssure..."

Instead he decided to sit beside him as they watch the flow of the sewer below their feet.

"..."

It was silent.

Can't take it any longer Viktor started the conversation thought a little bit hesitant but truly concerned about what's making him feel so down tonight. "Say...Heine, have you never really met your parents at all?"

Heine shot him an odd look, "Why ask that now?" Not that it's really sensitive matter or anything. It has been 3 months since their encounter, it is a bit too late to ask this right?, So Heine guessed.

"Another argument with your parents?" Viktor made a sad smile. "Sort of." And added as he gaze above the night sky.

"Y-you see..." Viktor feeling a bit nervous as he never actually talk about this to anybody, not even his nanny.

"Father is...I can't feel his love even though he gave me things. I just see him as a busy man. For my mother...well she is lovely but there are times she is much more kinder to father than me her child."

Heine thought he should comment. "Isn't normal? They are wife and husband after all. And you are...just their child."

Viktor shakes his head.

"I don't hate them, but I did not feel loved either. Something must be wrong with me." He chuckles. Heine smirks back, "Surely does." Viktor is disappointed, he can already see Heine is mocking him about his temporary emo-ness.

"Hey! Can't you even comfort me?"

Pouting, Heine yawns as he grab a pebble of rock and threw it to the sewer, the reflection of the moon is visible.

"Who in the right mind whose not even an orphan hanging out here with street kids and what more in a sewer."

Staring at Viktor childish act. "Viktor you are a weird guy."

Viktor grins back with an insult. "At least am not a weird height." Heine sent his deadly glare daggers.

"Hm?"

Viktor felt funny at their conversation and burst into laughter. "Ahaha~haha!" Relaxing his tense up body, Heine watches those golden locks move every time Viktor makes such expression.

'Sometimes Viktor...He looks like a prince...from some painting portrait I saw before. Very beautiful...'

Mentally slapping himself, 'Hold on!' Shaking those thoughts, 'Why am staring at him like that way...?!' Grumpy, 'It has to be the other day's conversation's fault.'

Viktor breaths a bit better now. "Thanks Heine, I feel a bit better now."

Heine whose still wears the poker face to hide his hidden thoughts, keeping them to himself is for the best since he can be blunt, yet again he knew he still needs to make Viktor feel better than said.

Heine thought of a way to empathize with him, "Well...I kind of understand what you are going through." Looking away, Heine didn't really want to talk about it.

Viktor ears perks up, "Eh? You mean your parents?" Heine nods. "I was with them before I became an orphan, just like every other street rats. To be honest I'm too young to even remember exactly how they looked like." Viktor gave him a concerned look, "Why? What happen to them...?"

Heine did not like those eyes.

Viktor's eyes would always have crystal on them whenever it is embodied by joy or care.

Viktor's affection is something else. Parting his hesitant lips,, "...Let's just say, the government did not like them. My father got executed and my mother just died in typical illness."

Bewildered, "E-excuted?! Why? What did your father did?" Viktor moved closer, as Heine remained at his position but his irises seize to the reflection of the moon. "Hmm...he was a violent person, so."

Viktor arch an eyebrow, "Does he hit you?" With a weak nod from Heine. "Sort of." But Heine wanted to clear things up, his relationship with his father was not an abuse...more like...a training.

A lesson.

Heine parents in general did not teach him how to read or write, instead they taught him only how to survive and how the kingdom sucks a lot.

Of how...corrupt and unjust it is.

'My father hits me to prepare me to battle. As one of the pure blooded Klev, my father fought for our freedom and equality. But...truly he wasn't a nice person either. He kills anyone who opposes his belief.' Is something he can't really reveal to Viktor.

Just...not yet. 'Viktor does not need to know. Let his crystal clear eyes without judgement remain as it is.' Unlike Heine between his father's leadership, he had a rule to not kill anybody. In order to take more allies, violence is never the key to gain leadership after all.

"If there is a lesson father taught me is to not smile. Because smiling is for the weak, smile only if people wants to read your moves." Adding some facts about him. "And I'm not that really good at smiling in the first place. I'm quite the ugly child."

Viktor pouts.

"That's not true! Heine's is adorable."

Vein pops.

"You..."

Heine couldn't stop gossiping about himself as he noticed Viktor is listening intently on every word he says. "As for my mother...she gave me a lesson not to ever betray others. That someday I can find someone whom I really trust and open my heart-"

"How about me Heine?"

All of the sudden, Viktor's face is near to his nose. Startled but remained composed at the situation..."E-excuse me?"

Ohh damn, damn. Viktor smells so good.

Viktor grabbed his hands and clutches on them.

"I want to be Heine's number one!" Heine rolled his eyes, this isn't the first of Viktor's obsession to stay with him. But cannot deny this touchy movements from someone who take a bath everyday feels nice unlike him and the other kids.

They smell like a sewer and rarely taken proper baths. Heck even their breaths!

Still surprised someone like Viktor can breath the same air to someone who did not brush teeth nor bathe for weeks. "Here we go again." It always been like this since day 1, Viktor is like a dog following him around. Indeed Heine is curious, "In the first place why did you follow me in the sewers anyway?"

As expected Viktor did not even bother to lie, he was spreading flower buds with his wide cheerful smile. For Viktor it was adventure those run away moments of his.

Viktor started fanboying over short Heine.

"I was attracted to you. You were so mysterious! I thought it is interesting to follow you that maybe lead ro a secret layer and it did! Awesome isn't..?!"

Viktor defines Heine as a rare species, Heine closed his eyes out of irritation. "Huff! ...I think you are referring to my voice and to the comparison of my height."

Only for Viktor to squeeze his tiny hands once more and starts to do those puppy eyes that Heine cannot win over.

"Heine! What should I do to prove myself worthy of your heart?"

Heavy. Viktor is too heavy for Heine not to dismay the dog.

Heine made a heavy sigh.

"Viktor that isn't necessary."
"Why not?"

Heine pulls away from Viktor's larger hands and kept a safe distance. A little bit of shyness reflected in Heine's cheek that Viktor actually noticed. "The moment I let inside our hideout and told you my name is already the start."

Unconsciously Heine took some of his red locks and play with them by his fingers.

"You were interesting to me too...that you look like a uncultured swine in middle class race but you ain't one."

Viktor blushes at that compliment and the fact Heine does not reject him despite the cold looks from the other boy.

Heine though still unsure how deep he can trust Viktor even though he is a dog-ish personality.

'In reality we would have gang up on him and put him in ransom list if he happens to be a higher level of noble brat.'

However Viktor gave his half eaten apple to one of his hungry fellow street kid. Meaning, this Viktor is not a pampered child but has compassion to the poor and outcaste children.

'Viktor does not look like someone who will betray people. I hope not...because if a person like him turns out to be wicked as well.'

Heine hoped that they can stay friends forever, either the dream comes true or not. Heine truly sees Viktor someone he wanted to keep company.

(("Might as well give this place a lesson it deserves."))
