Keeping up with Yang while she and Ruby were on a motorcyle was surprisingly difficult.

Oh it wasn't because she was too fast for him to keep up with (All he had to do was fly over most obstacles and bringer light did plenty to help him keep up even if it was slower than flashstep), its because even in a massive city like Vale she drove like a god damn maniac. He was certain that if he was following in a car of his own then he would've lost her by now unless he was fine with getting into a wreck.

Hell, who was he kidding? With the way she drove he probably would have ended up crashing into someone that was already trying to avoid the blonde bombshell.

Eventually though they made their way out of the massive city and to the docks where Yang was able to board her motorcycle (Was it just him or did it look like it was something straight out of Tron?) on a ferry. Ichigo waited from above for the ship to cast off with the sisters and bike before he used bringer light to appear next to them on the ship, his armor reabsorbing back into the combat pass for the time being.

Yang whistled as she looked him up and down with a newfound appreciation, "Y'know I already realized it back at the club, but you move damn fast. I wasn't sure how long you'd be able to keep it up for. Consider me impressed, good sir." A teasing glint entered her eyes at the end as she did a little bow, grinning up at him as she did.

"Tch, I probably would've done a better job of keeping up with you if you didn't drive like a maniac. Are you trying to get someone killed?" He asked sarcastically.

"Hey!" She darted back up into a standing position, pointing a finger at him, "My driving is just fine, thank you very much! As a matter of fact, I'd even go as far as saying I'm an amazing driver!"

He crossed his arms with an unimpressed look on his face, "Is that why you almost got into a wreck at least three times on the way here?"

"I did not-"

"Yang, you almost sent me flying off the back of the motorcycle at one point. Me." Ruby intervened, a dry look on her face, "You're good at staying alive behind the wheel, but your driving is at best chaos. Absolute chaos. At worst, it's just a tragedy."

Yang brought a hand to her heart and backed away from both of them with wide eyes, her other hand going up to her forehead, "Oh woe is me, you would side with him against me Ruby?! Your one and only sister, betrayed for a handsome stranger! Oh the end is nigh for me!"

Both Ruby and Ichigo gave her a blank look, Ichigo turning to Ruby before pointing at her, "She always like this? Or is the dramatics new?"

Ruby shook her head, "No, no this is pretty par for the course with Yang. Though be warned, sometimes she has a tendency to tell bad puns. Really, really bad puns."

Yang grinned as she came between them, wrapping an arm around both of them, "Whaaaat? My puns are amazing, thank you very much! You'll sea what I mean before long Ichigo! Hopefully I don't end up rocking the boat too much though!"

They both silently stared at her. Ichigo looked down at Ruby despite the way Yang was wrapped around both of them and, deadpan, said, "I should've stayed in Vale. Want me to bring you back with me, or?"

Ruby sighed, "No, sadly, we're stuck with her now. Even if we left the boat now she'd come and find us later. It's better just to let her get it all out of her system now anyway rather than later. Just trust me on this."

Ichigo sighed as Yang went tut tut tut, "Man, seems like the tide really is against me tonight. Maybe I need to go sleeping with the fishes to get any laughter around here."

"Oh my god." They both muttered. This was going to be a long boat ride.

By the time they ended up reaching Patches docks, Ichigo was about ready to throw himself overboard. The last pun to push him to that point was when Yang tried to get him to make a pun, and when he said that puns weren't really his thing, she replied by saying he would quickly "get the Yang of it".

Needless to say, he had also considered throwing her overboard instead.

Instead he elected to get away from her as fast as possible the moment the ferry docked. He donned his armor once more and rose into the air, staying afloat (...did that count as a boat pun?) as Yang and Ruby got the bike off the boat and in the clear. He followed them as they tried to get the bike out and away from the people on the docks when he noticed some... well, oddities.

Namely it was some of the people. He could already tell there was generally less people around than back in Vale (A smaller population if he were to wager) but only now was he noticing others with... odd features. Mainly it was that they were a lot more animal like. Some of them had extra sets of ears (Canine or feline) with eyes to match, some had scales with slitted pupils, others even had feathers.

He had at first thought that it was just a weird fashion statement. Contacts, accessories, the works. A closer look while he waited for Yang and Ruby to get clear though made it pretty apparent that wasn't the case, especially as the tail of one started wagging while they were speaking to someone.

'Are these people supposed to be humans too? Did they get surgery or something to look like that? Or are they something else entirely?'

He'd have to try and learn about that later. He wasn't sure if he could get away with being completely ignorant on another type of people like he did with everything else so far. Though he felt he was already pushing their sense of disbelief and he didn't quite feel like trying to push it with anyone more life experience.

He turned his attention back to Yang and Ruby when he heard the engine rev. He looked and saw Yang turning a thumbs up his way once he was looking before turning back to the road. She revved the engine one more time before she started to drive away, Ruby clinging on for dear life behind her.

Despite his problems with his current situation he couldn't help cracking a small smile at the sisters antics. He followed along more easily than he did in Vale, both due to the nature of Patch being a smaller town compared to Vale and the fact that Yang was actually driving more carefully. Whether it was because they were back in her home turf or because of them calling her out on the boat, he didn't know.

He watched the land pass them by, noting that Patch generally felt a bit more cozy than the big city they had left behind. It felt a lot more rural with massive forests not too far out of the towns borders, though that was something else he couldn't help but question.

'Why do people who seem to be armed with modern and advanced technology need giant walls around their homes? And why are they armed to the teeth?' The walls themselves were plenty large at thirty feet in height, with mounted turrets and sentry guns on top. Armed guards occasionally patrolled the walls as well and Ichigo couldn't help but get the feel that they were at war.

Yang and Ruby however ended up leading him outside of the walled city and through the woods. The path they were taking the trees were more sparse and allowed a more clear line of sight of their surroundings, which again seemed intentional to Ichigo. It took only a few minutes after they left the safety of the city walls for them to arrive at a massive log cabin in the middle of a clearing, with more sparse forest surrounding it.

The cabin itself seemed pretty standard, just large. There was a stone chimney lined with more logs to the side of it and a porch on the right side of the home as well. The dirt path lead straight to the cabins front door, Ruby bursting into a pedal cloud and moving to the door once the bike had slowed down a bit. Ichigo followed Yang as she took her bike around the back to a shed, opening it up so she can store her bike.

Ichigo landed behind her as she secured it as his armor vanished (hopefully) into his combat pass for the last time. He was starting to feel the exhaustion of everything that had happened in the last several hours but he knew he didn't quite have the luxury to rest quite yet. He crossed his arms while he silently waited for Yang to finish going over her bike, the blonde eventually seeming satisfied as she turned to Ichigo with a grin.

"Alright! Ready to head in?"

"Yeah, 'bout as ready I can be all things considered. Anything I need to know before we go?"

"Nah, dad's pretty cool," She shrugged as she tried to think, "Think we already mentioned he's a retired huntsman, but he's pretty chill. Where else did I get my amazing sense of humor from~?"

"Oh no."

"Shut up, I'm hilarious."

Tai was, admittedly, a bit suspicious when he originally got his daughters message. Yang and Ruby bringing home a friend in need from Vale? It wasn't necessarily that he disapproved of what they were doing, it's more so whoever it was they picked up from the mainland as well as the circumstances. Ruby had sent him a message filling him in a bit more on the situation, that it was a young man around their age who had helped Yang out in some big fight.

The first thing he was wondering was why Yang was getting in that sort of fight in the middle of Vale that a stranger felt the need to intervene. Besides that, why hadn't she felt the need to tell him what he was up to? The second was what kind of stranger did they pick up that was apparently capable of keeping up with his daughter so easily.

He knew his daughter wasn't exactly a huntswoman yet, but he had helped personally train her and knew exactly how capable she was. And that was to say, certainly more so than most of her peers her age.

Either way he wasn't too bothered by the situation though. He'd already started a large pot of stew for dinner tonight, so he just set an extra spot at the table for their guest. No guest was going to go hungry under his roof!

When Ruby came flying inside with a biker helmet still on her head he couldn't help but grin, knowing exactly what had her coming in like a whirlwind. 'Looks like Yang's driving has struck again.' He grinned as he looked over at his youngest, hands on his hips as he quickly checked her over before deciding she was okay.

"Hey Ruby, welcome home hon! Good night out in Vale? Find anything interesting?"

"Eh, not really," She shrugged, "Nothing great at my shop this time so I ended up going to wait for Yang. She's outside with Ichigo so they should be in soon."

He nodded along having expected the answer, "Gotcha, anything else I should know about the guy? Or should I just ask him myself?"

"I'd say just talk to him! He seems nice, just a bit... well, y'know, upset because of all this." She waved her hands around in a wide gesture, though Tai understood the meaning. He didn't think he'd be taking it all too well if he got jumped, knocked out, and transported to what may be a different continent entirely.

Yeah, he'd probably be a bit upset too.

"Well we'll do our best to try and help him. I'll talk to him and see what I can to try and get him back home. In the event that we can't though, well, we'll figure something out for him." In the back of his mind, Tai wondered if perhaps Ichigo wasn't telling the full truth. The kid could be lost, but maybe he didn't know how to get back home because there was no home to return to.

'Could be that he's here because of her... if that's the case, then there's no chance he's ever getting back.' He'd just have to hope that wasn't the case.

He shook himself from his thoughts and directed a grin Ruby's way, "Alright young lady, shoo! Go take a shower and get comfortable, and don't take up all the hot water! We got an extra in tonight, and I want everyone all cleaned up before dinner."

Ruby grinned and disappeared up the stairs in the blink of an eye, just as Yang came in the door. "Hey dad, we're home! Here's the friend I wanted you to meet!"

The moment Tai laid eyes on him, he couldn't help but resist the urge to smirk.

He knew his oldest well, and he very much knew her type. There was something about Ichigo that just screamed bad boy. Whether it be the spikey orange hair or the frown he came in with, he knew that Yang had likely brought him along because she was at least a bit interested. He was well dressed at least, and as far as he could tell the hair didn't appear to be dyed that color.

He spotted the sword hilt that came over the shoulder too and surmised it must be a shorter blade considering the way it seemed to lay against his back. He was also just a few inches taller than Yang, and luckily he proved not to be a punk as he offered a hand, "Ichigo Kurosaki. It's nice to meet you, and thank you for taking me in. I didn't really have anywhere else to go. If you need any help while I'm here just let me know and I'll lend a hand."

'And he's got manners? Not bad Mr. Kurosaki. Not bad at all.'

"Great to meet you too! Think I should be thanking you for helping out Yang when she bought herself more trouble. Again." He gave Yang a look from the corner of his eye, causing her to look away and whistle innocently, "Anyway, I'm Taiyang Xiao-Long! Feel free to just call me Tai though, happy to have you here!"

The young man seemed a bit caught off guard by the welcome. He didn't take too long to send a small smile Tai's way however. "Thank you Tai, I'm happy to be here. Sorry, but you wouldn't happen to have any clothes that would fit me by any chance would you? I'd like to get myself cleaned up if that's fine."

"Of course it is! Should be some old clothes of mine that could fit you in my closet. My rooms to the left at the top of the stairs, have a look around and find something to sleep in! Get in the shower and then come on down for dinner, there's a second bathroom attached to my room."

His shoulders slumped just a little, like he was relaxing just a bit now that they had got the initial introductions out of the way. "Yeah, I'll go ahead and do that. Thank you, I'll make sure to make it up to you."

Tai only waved off the sentiment, "Nah, don't worry about it. You already did enough by helping out one of my kids. Now go on, get yourself cleaned up. Dinner is just about ready, a warm bowl will be waiting for ya when you come back down."

Ichigo gave one last smile before nodding, going up to go get washed and changed. Once he was out of sight he directed a raised eyebrow at Yang and crossed his arms. "So, what were you causing trouble in Vale for this time?"

Yang winced and leaned against the wall by the door, looking away from him, "Oh, I wasn't trying to start anything. Just was trying to y'know, do my thing. Ran across a couple of creeps, thought I'd show 'em not to mess with me is all."

He was unimpressed, to say the least.

"Yang..." He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Honey, I love you to bits. But you're not going to find her by going around and starting fights." She tensed up when he brought it up and looked away from him. He laid a hand on her shoulder though, a small frown on his face, "Hon, if I could've found your mom and brought her back, I would have already."

"I know you would have dad but maybe if I manage to find her, if it's me, maybe I can convince her to come back home! Or at least get her to explain why she left, where she's been or why we weren't-"

Yang stopped herself from finishing the sentence, but Tai already knew where she was heading with it. "Why we weren't good enough".

'Damn it Raven.'

He knelt down in front of his daughter as she crossed her arms, still looking away from him as he laid a hand on each shoulder, "Your mother was a lot of things, even back when we were still a bunch of clueless students. She was strong, fierce, smart, and really damn complicated. But she loved the people she cared about as fiercely as she fought. And if there's at least one thing I know about your mother, it's that she loved you more than anything. Never doubt that."

Now she looked up.

For a moment, her eyes were that deep crimson she had whenever she was truly angry. That red that she inherited from her mother that only occasionally came out. But it didn't last as she closed her eyes, letting a single tear drop before opening them again and giving him a shaky smile.

"Thanks, dad."

"No problem sweetheart. Now go and get washed up, dinner's gonna get cold soon."

Ichigo was the first one down despite Ruby being the first in the shower, having taken a quick shower. He came down wearing a white T and a pair of black shorts that went down to about his knees. His sword was still strapped to his back and Tai couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

"You know you can go and put the sword down, right? My house is pretty safe all things considered."

He stopped for a moment, his eyes darting around when he did. Tai frowned as Ichigo continued to hesitate, not sure what was going on.

"If you're not comfortable setting it down you can keep it on you, it's not a problem. But nothing's gonna happen to you so long as you're a guest in my home, I promise."

Ichigo swallowed. He shook his head and reached around his back, unstrapping the sheath and walking over to the front door before laying his sword next to it. "You're right, I'm fine. Just been a lot through the last few days, that's all. Thanks again for takin me in and helping me out, it really means a lot."

"Bah, don't worry about it bud. Wouldn't be much of a huntman or an example for my kids if I didn't help you out, besides, you seem like a nice guy. We'll help you get a little more settled in tomorrow. Think you'll need some more clothes than what you brought, don't ya think?"

Ichigo looked a little embarrassed as he looked away, "Ah, yeah, I suppose I do. I'll find a way to pay you back for everything, thanks."

"Oh stop." Tai waved it off, "I got plenty of lien saved up for emergency situations like this, so don't worry about it. Consider it a gift for helpin my daughter get out of a mess. Though speaking of, you gotta be a pretty good fighter to have kept up with her in a scrap."

"I'm not too bad. My dad helped train me as I was growing up before a few friends took over, so they made sure I could take care of myself."

"I'm sure, so what do you say I go ahead and put you to the test as well? After our little shopping trip we can go ahead and test your mettle, see what you may need to work on. Sound like a plan?"

Ichigo nodded along slowly, a small smile coming to him as he did, "Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad. Just try to keep up when I start to get going old man."

"Why you little-"

"Hello!" Ruby came down the stairs in a flurry of red pedals, cutting off Ichigo's retort as she stood in front of the two in her pajamas. Hands on her hips, she looked between the two with a wide grin, "What I miss?"

Ichigo raised an eyebrow at her before looking back to Tai with a smirk, "Oh nothin much Ruby, just gonna get a chance to kick your dads butt tomorrow."

"Oh as if. You still gotta prove you can match up in the first place. Don't be too disappointed if you end up eating your words." Tai didn't bother hiding the grin that came to him though, putting out a fist as he did, "I'll make sure to point out why you lost when you eat the dirt."

Ichigo fist bumped him, the confident smirk never leaving him. "I'll be plenty polite when I end up beatin you."

Tai snorted, shaking his head and turning away from the teenager, "Sureee, whatever you say Ichigo. Now c'mon, if I know Yang its gonna be at least another thirty minutes before she's ready to come down." 'Longer if she's trying to impress a boy.' He thought to himself, "So let's eat. I left the pot on the stove so it'd stay warm, just grab your bowl and fill it up, seats are ready at the dining table."

Ichigo gave a more genuine smile as he looked at Tai before nodding, moving away from his sword and to the kitchen. Ruby was right behind him as she began to bombard him with more questions about his sword, while Tai turned his attention to the weapon in question. He brushed a hand against the smooth hilt before moving it down to the crossguard.

He wasn't sure what materials the sword was made of, but it wasn't anything that he was familiar with. The hilt was made from a strange metal, and though the crossguard appeared to be wooden from a glance it didn't feel quite right. As he moved his hand down to the blade, he was given the impression that everything was one piece. Like none of it had been created separately. He unsheathed the sword just slightly to continue his examination, only to be further confused by the blade itself.

"Now what in the name of the brothers..." The sword didn't appear to be anything special on a first inspection, but it was clear it was anything but. The blade was razor sharp, yet it didn't appear to be lacking in any durability despite how fine the edge was. And once more he was at a loss as to whatever the actual material was. When he resheathed the sword and picked it up by it's hilt to test the balance it only left more of a quandry.

"This feels... wrong." It was all he could say to describe the feel of the sword. The balance of the weapon didn't feel off, it was well designed despite how off the materials seemed. But the weapon just felt wrong in his hands, and he knew instinctively this was a sword he wouldn't really be able to ever wield effectively.

Though it wasn't as if he was a swordsman by trade in the first place.

'Gotta talk to Qrow about this and get his opinion on it. He might know a bit more than me on the subject.' He laid the weapon back where Ichigo left it before he went to go join him and Ruby in the kitchen. Having Ichigo around would end up being interesting if nothing else.

That was only reinforced by the fact that it did, in fact, end up taking Yang the better part of an hour before she actually joined them for dinner. A father's intuition strikes again.

Ichigo honestly hadn't been expecting the level of hospitality he had been offered by Taiyang.

He'd stayed with them for a few days now, having managed to get in their shopping trip for clothes before Tai had to leave and postpone their sparring session. Apparently there was some sort of conference being held between combat schools that he had to attend, leaving the run of the house to the teenagers. Before he left he declared Ichigo was in charge of things, and when Yang protested he had just stared at his daughter.

"If I wanted to come back to the house either in flames or filled with a bunch of kids I don't know, I'd let you take the lead. As things are, I think I trust Ichigo to run things more."

Yang had done her best to act offended, though Ruby hadn't exactly helped her case by agreeing with his logic.

This left Ichigo with very little to do overall. Tai had made plenty of prepped meals behind for while he was gone so all they had to do was cleanup, which Ichigo did. He wasn't gonna let his hosts home become a mess when they had given him far more than they had to. Though right now the house was clean, and both Ruby and Yang were out with some of their friends which left him with very little to do besides explore.

So, explore he did.

He left the house dressed in a red shirt with sleeves going down to his elbows, a grey sleeveless vest with a white collar being worn over the top. Put together with a pair of black jeans and belt and he was ready to go. Once he had his shoes back on and his sword strapped to his back again he opened the door, donning his armor and bursting away with bringer light.

At first he was tempted to go back to town and have a look around, perhaps learn more about the animal people or why the town itself had so many defenses out in the open before he decided against it. 'May as well check out the rest of the island and see what it has to offer.' He thought to himself, green coming alight under his feet as he continued to use bringer light.

There was little in the way of other homes outside of the towns walls on the island, and what little he was actually able to find seemed to have been abandoned. Yet as far as he could tell there wasn't a reason why they were abandoned. Some of the homes seemed relatively new, yet there was nothing on the island that pointed to there being a conflict that would drive people to seek shelter in the city.

'So why does no one but Tai live out of the city?'

Tai was a fighter, that much was blatantly clear, as were Ruby and Yang. So what made it so that only people on the level of fullbringers could live out of the walls?

He stopped briefly at another home. It was unremarkable in its appearance, and the clearing the home was built in was now overgrown. The door was open and a hole was in the roof, whether it had fallen in from disrepair or poor weather he was unsure. He touched down in front of the house and crossed his arms. He let the armor fade away back into the combat pass before he stepped through the doorway.

He kept quiet as he looked around. Furniture was overturned around what he presumed was the living room, and shattered picture frames laid around the room. An intact one on the wall showed a young couple that used to live in the home, a young man with his arms wrapped around a woman. He assumed the home itself wasn't too old based on how the overgrowth outside looked.

'So what did all this? Did they have to leave in a hurry or...' Did they ever get a chance to leave in the first place?

He moved through the house as he looked around, not really seeing much else of note. More wrecked furniture and personal belongings, yet he stopped as he came to a bedroom. There was a hole in the wall, with deep claw marks on the floor in front of the hole itself. They were too large to belong to any animal he knew as he knelt down to examine it. 'What the hell did this? Are the animals here super sized or something?' Looking back up at the hole into the house he knew that whatever it was that had made the claw marks was also likely what had made the hole in the wall.

And likely the reason the place looked like it had been ransacked.

He donned his armor again and took off, using bringer light to move just above the forest. He paid closer attention this time, trying to see if he could find any beasts like what may have attacked that home. Something clearly lurked in the woods here, though he wasn't confident enough to name it as the reason why the town itself seemed so heavily armed.

The clearing he found even further north though started to change that opinion.

He touched down in a clearing filled with dead, blackened trees. All the plant life around him seemed long dead, and the teenager kept his armor on as he looked around. This time around he could feel something was off besides the dead plants, feeling like he was being watched. By what exactly he wasn't all too sure.

Then he saw a flicker in the shadows.

He rose his sword up in the direction of the movement, having just barely caught it from the corner of his eye. His eyes narrowed as he looked around, just barely catching another flicker of movement. He was about ready to charge towards whatever it was when something finally revealed itself. His face morphed into a scowl as he took a stance, both hands tightly holding his sword.

"Oh this is just... wait, what the hell are you?"

There was three creatures that came from the dead woods. Monsters for a more apt description. They held the appearance of bideal woods, standing far taller than any human he'd met and covered in bony plates with bright red markings. They all had a white plate on their head similar to a hollows mask, though unlike hollows they were all missing the distinctive holes in their chests. They were snarling as they approached him, more appearing from the woods around him. Between the giant wolves were massive bears as well, covered in the same plates and markings while being further adorned with spikes.

The reason why everyone seemed to live in such a heavily armed settlement suddenly became a lot more clear to him, as well as what exactly a huntsman must be responsible for. He tried to reach out with his senses to see what the hollow knock offs felt like only to recoil.

'How in the hell do none of them have any spiritual pressure?!' The more he tried, the more his original suspicions were confirmed.

These... things had no soul.

'This isn't physically possible. Every living thing has a soul of some sort, hell, the fullbringers back home specialized in drawing out the soul from inanimate objects! So how the hell are these things able to exist without a soul?!'

His tolerance for their existence snapped the moment one of them tried to lunge for him, Ichigo easily avoiding it with bringer light.

'These things shouldn't exist, at all! So it's about time I go ahead and get rid of them so they can't hurt anyone else!'

As the beasts began to charge forward, he charged a getsuga on his sword. He plummetted back to the earth below as monsters tried to jump into the air after him, missing as he drove his blade into the ground.

"Getsuga tenshou!"

An explosion of energy went out around him, sending monster bears and wolves alike flying or stumbling back.

Ichigo withdrew his sword from the dirt and dashed forward for one of the bears, ramming his sword through its head and planting the blade in the dirt. He paid the black smoke that began to waft from the corpse no mind as he turned to the rest of the horde.

He had to focus.

Here he had no need to hold back now that he was dealing with monsters rather than living humans.

He smashed an armored leg into one of the wolves faces, shattered teeth going flying from its maw as it fell into another wolf. Ichigo jumped back from the beasts gathering in front and charged another getsuga, this time firing the wave into the group in front of him, the energy blast cutting through the first row of monsters before detonating and blowing away the rest that were in front of it.

Ichigo moved his head out of the way of a paw swiping at his head, the massive limb belonging to another bear. Ichigo turned and shoulder tackled the beast and sent it tumbling next to him, spinning and flicking his blade through the monsters neck and severing its head.

Bringer light brought Ichigo above what remained of the group he blasted away as they stumbled back up, not giving them a chance to go back on the offensive as he charged and fired another getsuga. This time the detonation consumed the remaining monsters in that group, as the rest that had been sent flying from the first getsuga began to close in.

He kept his focus as he caught a wolf in its mouth with his sword, his left hand leaving the hilt to grab the arm of another before its claws could rake down his armor. He drew his arm back and threw the beast with some difficulty, sending it flying through other members of its pack before he withdrew his sword.

The monster slaughter lasted but a few minutes as Ichigo tore through the beasts, using bringer light to speed himself up and slam a kick into another wolfs torso, sending it through a tree as its back snapped from the impact. He used bringer light again, this time to bring his heel down onto the last bears skull like a hammer. The axe kick caved in its skull from the top and smashed it face first into the dirt.

Only a few wolves remained as the corpses dissolved into a black mist, eyeing the survivors as drool dripped from their snarling mouths. Not a hint of fear in any of them despite their comrades bodies surrounding them.

Ichigo didn't stop to think about it yet, lunging forward as he his sword lit up with a getsuga. He drove the getsuga empowered blade through the chest of one of the wolves, letting it detonate in the corpse and eviscerate it in the process.

Another flash of bringer light brought his blade through the neck of a wolf.

One more flash brought his blade down on the top of the last wolf's head, cutting through the beast all the way down the middle and leaving the split halves to fall to the side.

Ichigo took in deep breaths as he examined his handiwork. Even now the most recent monster he killed was already nearly dissolved, leaving little trace that they had existed in the first place if it wasn't for the signs Ichigo himself had left behind. Everything about these things screamed hollow, yet the lack of a hole and soul left him feeling completely lost as to what the hell these things were.

'These can't be natural. They have to have been made by something, but how the hell something like this would exist is beyond me.' Were Kisuke here he was sure the man would have a few theories, though even then he wasn't sure what could be done about it.

'Are these things a problem everywhere? It would explain why huntsmen are a thing and why Vale was so massive. Humanity has to probably stick close together just to survive.' He'd need to go and try to learn more about these things when he could, that was for sure. The world he was dropped into suddenly seemed a lot more dangerous, and he couldn't continue to coast on through it without knowing what was actually in it.

He sighed and shook his head. He'd go into town later to do his research. For now it was time to head home and get cleaned up, he was sure Ruby and Yang would be back before long.

Hopefully there weren't any other nasty surprises in store for him.

Ello, and welcome back!

Sorry for the wait, I was intending to try and get this out yesterday but work this week ended up having me pretty busy. But a day later than intended isn't too bad xD

Ichigo discovers the grimm and intends to actually do a bit of learning about Remnant, and I get to touch on Yang's issues with Raven. It's never really touched on much in the first 3 volumes despite our introduction to Yang being her looking for Raven, with the only mention on Yang's part being her story in volume 2. Obviously Raven appears during those volumes, but I felt it always was weird that Yang's problems there were never left in the air.

So here we are!

Anyway, not gonna waste y'alls time with a lot, but thank you for taking the time to read! Also, fuckin, thank you for all the support. 58 follows and 36 favorites? That shit is bannanas y'all.
