Franken-Mollie: #scratchforchairman
It wasn't long before word about Scratch running for the position of Chairman spread around Brighton, and everyone caught on. They didn't like the way the current Ghost Council was treating them, and really wanted a change. Franken-Mollie were helping out as Scratch's running mates, and their friends were giving them a hand as well.
They made posters, buttons, ads, and more to promote Scratch's campaign. One day he was giving a speech in front of the town hall.
"I promise that if elected Chairman, I will make Brighton a better place for both ghosts and monsters alike! We are all spooky, so we deserve to live together!" he said.
Andrea took photos and livestreams, even though she didn't appear in them. "Like and share! Brighton is gonna be much better with Scratch running the place!" she said.
"Your campaign is going really well." Ollie said.
"Nearly everyone in town is on board!" Molly added. "At this rate, you'll be elected in no time!"
"Thanks, you guys." Scratch told them. "Sure hope nothing stands in our way." But just then, Jinx floated over to them.
"Not so fast! I'm throwing my hat into the ring." she said.
"You're going to run against me?" Scratch asked. "Good luck! The town is on my side already!"
"No one wants you as Chairman, or is it Chairwoman? Either way, no one is gonna vote for you!" Molly stated. The others agreed with her.
"Vote for Scratch! Vote for Scratch!" chanted the crowd. Jinx grew frustrated.
"We'll see about that." she mumbled, and floated off.
The next day, at the castle, the residents were planning for a new promotion when a green ghost floated in. It was Scratch's best friend, Geoff.
"You guys have to see this!" he said.
"What's the matter?" Pete asked. Geoff turned the TV on.
"Scratch. He says he's the right ghost for the job. But would you want someone who eats food that's not his for Chairman?" a voice said as a campaign ad came on. "Not only that, how can we trust a guy who spends most of his time napping? If he falls asleep on the job, he won't get anything done! Plus, he said this about our citizens!"
"I think all of Brighton can go jump in a piranha-infested lake!" an edited video of Scratch said. Then Jinx appeared on screen.
"I am Jinx, and I approve this message. Vote for me."
"An attack ad?!" Molly shouted. "We can't let her get away with that!"
"Certainly not!" Darryl added. He got an idea, and whispered it to June.
That night, they snuck into Jinx's campaign office, and tampered with her new posters. The next day, when they were put up, Jinx was furious to see that she was depicted as picking her nose!
"THAT'S IT!" she yelled. "I'm gonna beat Scratch, even if it unkills me!"
Soon it was time for a debate. Each candidate took their place at the podium.
"Any opening comments?" Patty asked. She was overseeing the debate.
"Yes. Scratch is not fit for Chairman!" Jinx pointed to him. "He can't do anything by himself!'
"Oh, yes I can!" Scratch replied. "You are just afraid of change!"
"You are a big-nosed lazy oaf!" Jinx shouted back. A glob of mud hit her face.
"Why'd you do that?" Molly asked Darryl.
"It not called mudslinging for nothing." he answered.
The campaigns continued for another month until the final voting day arrived. All the citizens gathered at the town hall to cast their ballots. Once that was done, they were all counted.
"The new Chairman of the Ghost World is…Scratch!" Patty said. Franken-Mollie hugged their ectoplasmic friend.
"Thanks for all your support!" he said. Upon doing his cloak, his first act was to put the old council back in charge. The current members stepped down, but they were not happy about it. Jinx noticed, and she was equally ticked off.
"One day, I'll get my revenge." she muttered before disappearing.
