Franken-Mollie Story 11: The Mad Science Fair Part 2
What Franken-Mollie and the Stein-Torres didn't know was that Professor Von Baddski was staying in the same hotel as them. He was pacing around his room, grumbling to himself.
"To think that a child has moved on to the second day of events, same as me!" he fumed. "And that creation of hers, Franken-Mollie, are making all evil inventions look bad! They hardly even behave like a real monster!" Then he got a nasty idea.
"Those brats don't know about the final of tomorrow's three events. Well, if a monster is what the judges expect, I'll give 'em one!" he cackled.
Using a literal skeleton key, he snuck into his rival's room. He tiptoed up to Franken-Mollie's bed, and pulled a syringe out of his pocket. It was filled with nanobots. He injected it into their arm. They didn't feel a thing.
"Now to bide my time." he whispered, and snuck out.
The next day, it was time for the first of the day's events. The scientists would walk in a ring with their inventions. They all got in position, and started moving.
Franken-Mollie waved to the crowd, who were amazed by them. "We are getting real good feedback." Molly whispered.
"That grand prize is as good as ours." Ollie replied. But Libby turned her head, and saw a sinister look in Von Baddski's eyes.
"What is he up to?" she thought. After the ring showing, it was time for the talent portion.
The Killinator pulled of a pretty good breakdancing routine to the judges. Franken-Mollie watched from backstage.
"For a killer robot, it's pretty good." Ollie said.
"But it won't beat our duet!" Molly told him. They got on stage and started singing. They performed "Two Heads" by Coleman Hell. It was specatacular. Libby was moved to tears by it. So were the judges. They gave the duo a perfect score!
Von Baddski was very annoyed by the results, but his plan was yet to begin.
The head judge then spoke. "Ladies and gentlemen, the final event of the Mad Science Fair is about to start. It is…" he paused. "an elimination Battle of Destruction! All inventions will fight to the end, until one is left standing!"
"WHAT?!" Franken-Mollie gasped in shock.
"There's no way we're doing that!" Molly said.
Libby nodded in agreement. "No grand prize is worth your lives. Let's go disqualify ourselves and head home." They started to leave, when Franken-Mollie suddenly felt themselves walking in the opposite direction!
"What're you doing?!" Libby asked.
"We're not in control of our body anymore!" Ollie said. "We want to leave, but we can't!"
"HELP US!" Molly screamed as they walked towards the arena where the fight would occur.
"I'll save you!" Libby followed after them. She had to rescue her friends!
Franken-Mollie found themselves standing in the middle of the arena, surrounded by a bunch of large and scary looking machines, including the Killinator.
"We are so dead." Molly squeezed her boyfriend's hand tightly. A bell rang, and the fight was on!
The inventions started clashing and tearing each other apart. Franken-Mollie tried to escape, but they were running towards a huge laser! Libby watched from the stands in horror.
"Look out!" The laser fired, but Franken-Mollie backflipped out of range.
"Did we do that?" Molly asked in surprise. Then her hand reached out and tore wires out of the laser, shutting it down.
"Why are they acting like that?" Libby asked. She looked around, then saw that Von Baddski was moving something inside his lab coat.
"They're not fighting because they want to, they're being controlled!" she realized. "Curse you, nanotechnology! I have to get those nanobots out." She ran out of the stands, and purchased a magnet at a souvenir stand. She then aimed it at her friends. The pull attracted them towards her. All the nanobots were extracted from Franken-Mollie via their noses. Ollie twitched his finger.
"I can move myself again!" he said.
"Me too! Libby saved us!" Molly grinned. They hugged her, but their joy was short lived.
Von Baddski had noticed, and was furious. "Killinator, focus on that double-headed dimwit and their creator!" he ordered. The Killinator locked its aim on the kids.
"NEW TARGETS ACQUIRED." it droned. It raced towards them! The kids ran for their lives. The Killinator followed them out of the arena and into the convention center's hallways.
"Von Baddski's got real beef with us!" Molly said.
"YOU THINK?" Ollie replied. The giant robot aimed a laser and fired. Before it could hit them, Leah appeared and blocked it with a piece of the wall.
"LEAVE MY DAUGHTER AND HER FRIENDS ALONE!" she yelled.
"Thanks for the save, Mom." Libby said. But they weren't safe yet.
"DEPLOYING TARGETING MISSILES." The Killinator opened up several launch bays, and a barrage of missiles fired. Everyone ran off. But the missiles had locked on to them.
'We're all gonna die!" Libby cried. But then Molly thought of an idea.
"Not today!" she said. "Follow my lead!"
"No need to tell me!" Ollie said. Everyone turned around, and the missiles followed. Franken-Mollie and the Stein-Torres raced towards the Killinator.
"I hope you know what you're doing!" Leah said.
"Wait for my signal." Molly answered. She noticed a slab of ceiling on the floor. "NOW!"
They ducked behind it just in time. The missiles kept going and plowed into the Killinator, destroying it! The ceiling piece shielded the group from the blast. They peeked out, and saw the remains.
Von Baddski ran up. "My Killinator! It's been destroyed!" he sobbed. Then his grief turned to anger. "YOU!" he snarled at Franken-Mollie.
"What's going on here?" asked the head judge.
"THEY DESTROYED MY INVENTION!" Von Baddski whined.
"That means they win!" the head judge said. One of the others handed a trophy to Libby.
"Thanks very much, but I can't accept this." she said. "Franken-Mollie didn't want to take part in the fight."
"Yeah, Von Baddski was controlling us like a toy!" Ollie said. "And we have the proof!" He showed them some of the nanobots.
"This is a very serious matter." the head judge said. "We may be evil scientists, but even we have rules about competitions. Von Baddski, you are hereby disqualified from next year's convention, and all thereafter!"
Von Baddski was very ticked off. He started to leave, but turned to his opponents. "You may have won this time, but I will get you one day." he vowed, and stormed off.
"Sorry you didn't win, Libby." Molly said.
"That's okay. Your friendship is the best prize of all." Libby told her, and they all hugged.
