Ryusei POV
After the discussion I had with Horikita last night she agreed to try to help Sudou and the other two study, so me, Horikita and Ayanokouji were together planning how to invite those three back to the study group.
Ayanokouji: So, my honorable strategist. What should we do?
Horikita: Obviously, we need to persuade Sudou-kun and the others to join the study group again. This means you're both going to have to drag and beg them to return.
Ryusei: This will be difficult, the first time we asked them to participate in the study group, they quickly refused, so now that there was that fight it will make it even more difficult for them to accept.
Ayanokouji: Why do we both have to do this in the first place, you're the reason there was a fight.
I don't think it's better, I feel like this will make the situation worse.
Horikita: The real reason is that they didn't want to study. Don't distort it.
Sudou really didn't want to participate anymore because of the fight, now ike and yamauchi left because they didn't want to study.
Ryusei: We're going to need Kushida's help if we want to bring them back together, and you know that right?
Horikita: I understand sacrifices are inevitable.
Even though she wants to avoid kushida as much as possible, she understands that we need her help if we want to succeed.
Horikita: Alright, can you get Kushida-san to help us right away?
Ryusei: Me?
Horikita: Of course. You made a contract with me. you agreed to be my workhorse until we reach class A. You and ayanokouji-kun have to do what I say.
Ayanokouji: Huh??
Even Ayanokouji was confused by what she said.
Ayanokouji: I don't remember agreeing to that.
Horikita: Here, look at this written contract. Horikita speaks while handing over the papers
What's worse is that there actually was a contract for both of us, it even had my name and signature on it.
Ayanokouji: You do realize they can charge you for forging documents, right?
Ryusei: Well, leaving that aside, you better go get kushida. I say to horikita
Then Horikita got up and went towards Kushida who was about to leave.
Horikita: Kushida-san. I want to talk to you. If possible, would you like to have lunch together?
Yes, it will take time to get used to Horikita inviting someone to lunch, that is of course if there are other times.
Kushida: Lunch? It's weird being invited by horikita-san, but sure.
I'm impressed that she accepted quickly, but I think it's because of her kind personality.
So me and ayanokouji went together with horikita and kushida to the most popular cafe in school, pallet. I paid for my drink, ayanokouji did the same and horikita paid for kushida's drink. So we sat at an empty table, and Kushida smiling said.
Kushida: Thank you. About what you want to talk?
Horikita: I'm making another study group to help Sudou-kun and the others. Can you help us once again?
Kushida: What's your reason for doing this? this is really for sudou-kun and the others.
Horikita: No, this is for me.
One of the things that I think is good about Horikita's personality is that she always gets straight to the point and doesn't try to make excuses.
Kushida: That's right. Horikita-san, as usual, acts for herself, huh.
Horikita: Won't you help people who don't act for their friends?
Kushida: I think you're free to think however you want. However, I wanted to make sure you wouldn't lie, so I'm glad you answered honestly. Okay, I'll help you. We are classmates, after all. Right, Ayanokouji-kun, Nogami-kun?
Ayanokouji: Yes. You're really helping us. Ayanokouji muttered.
Kushida: I want to ask you directly, though. It's not for your friends, it's not for points, but rather, you want me to help so we can reach class A, right? Kushida asked horikita.
Horikita: Yes.
Kushida: This is unbelievable... isn't it impossible? Oh, I'm not trying to call you stupid. But how should I say... more than half the class has already given up, you know?
Ayanokouji: Is it because the difference between our class and Class A is too big?
Ryusei: Maybe they are not confident that they can reach class A, mainly because they are called defective products.
Kushida: Yes... Honestly, I don't know if we can reach them. I don't even know if we can get any points next month. I feel discouraged.
Horikita hit the table with a loud bang.
Horikita: I will absolutely do it.
Kushida: Hey Nogami-kun, Ayanokouji-kun, do you also want to reach Class A?
Horikita: Yes, the two of them are my assistants in reaching Class A.
I raised my eyebrow after she said that.
Ryusei: Since when did I say I would be your assistant?
Horikita just ignored me waiting for a response from kushida.
Kushida: Hmm...ok. Let me help.
Horikita: Of course, that's why we're asking in the first place.
Kushida: That's not it, I want to join you in heading to class A. Not just the study group, but I want to help with everything you're going to do from now on.
Horikita: E-eh?but.
Kushida: So you don't want me to join?
Kushida looked at Horikita with wide eyes.
Horikita: Okay. I will formally ask for your help again if this study group goes well. Horikita replied
Horikita gave in to Kushida's request, knowing that he would be more successful in his plan if he had Kushida's help.
Kushida: Really!? Yay!"
Looking truly happy, she applauded in delight. This appearance of hers is also cute, so she happily shook hands with horikita, then mine, and then ayanokouji.
Horikita: However, I don't know if Sudou-kun and his friends have agreed to team up again, Horikita said.
Ayanokouji: Yes. In the current situation, it certainly seems difficult. ayanokouji agreed with what horikita said.
Kushida: Well then, can you leave it to me one more time? It's the least I can do after you let me join you.
Ryusei: Well, I have a plan if they still refuse to join the study group!
I say smiling devilishly
Horikita: And what would your plan be?
Ryusei: Secret.
Horikita didn't seem happy with my answer but decided not to respond.
Then kushida picked up the phone. Soon after, Ike and Yamauchi came with ecstatic expressions. As soon as they saw me and Horikita, they looked at me as if saying, "Did you really tell her about the chat!?" They were probably afraid that I said something to Horikita, but I'll just keep what they said in the chat a secret.
Kushida: Sorry for calling you two. I have, or rather Horikita-san has something to ask you two.
Ike: What is this? What do you want with us?
Horikita: Do you two have any plans to join hirata-kun's group?
Ike: Huh? G-study group? No, we don't want to participate because it's very popular... let's study the day before the test. It has worked since elementary school.
To Ike's words, Yamauchi nodded two, three times. They seem to have somehow managed to get through the last few years this way but I doubt this method will work at this school.
Horikita: This kind of thinking suits both of you. However, the probability of being expelled from school is quite high now.
???: You're the same as always, whatever that means.
Sudou appeared while frowning at Horikita. It seems that Sudou was also caught in Kushida's trap
Horikita: The one who should be most worried is you, Sudou-kun. It sounds like you have absolutely no concerns about getting kicked out of school.
Sudou: You already knew that. If you're not careful, I'll hit you. I'm busy with basketball right now. I'll be fine if I study the day before the test.
Ike: S-calm down, you sweat.
Ryusei: Sudou you should try to study one more time, even if you study a day before like you said you will, it's not a guarantee that you'll get the grade needed so you don't fail the test, what if you end up failing? You will be expelled and you will be unable to play basketball, aren't you worried about the fact that you won't be able to play basketball if you don't pass the exam?
Sudou: That's... but I don't want to receive 'charity' from this girl. I haven't forgotten the words you said to me the other day. If you want me to join, I want an apology first. A completely honest one.
Now screw, it's easier to ask Horikita to hit Ayanokouji, than to make her apologize, she's too proud for that, even I've also had times when I'm too proud to apologize.
Horikita: I hate you, sudou-kun.
Sudou: What?!
How wonderful, she just added more fuel to the fire.
Horikita: However, our dislike for each other is just trivial in this situation. I will teach you for my sake. You will study for your own good. Am I wrong?
Sudou: Do you really want to move up to Class A then? Even if it means inviting someone you hate, like me? He muttered.
Horikita: Yes. Exactly. Otherwise, why would anyone be willing to involve you?
Horikita really doesn't mince words when she wants to say something, and Sudo was getting irritated by those words.
Sudou: I'm busy with basketball. Even before a test, others don't take a break to study. I can't afford to fall behind while I'm studying.
I see, so the other members of the basketball club are going to the club as normal, that means either they are smart enough to pass the exam or they are studying after the club ends or they are simply acting like they sweated and leaving to study for a day before the exam.
Horikita then took out a piece of paper and showed it to him. It was a detailed schedule leading up to the day of the test.
Horikita: In the last study session, I learned that the
Regular method of studying didn't work for you. None of you understand the basics of the topics. It's like taking a frog and throwing it into the ocean. The frog wouldn't know where to go or how to swim. Additionally, I understand that taking time away from your hobbies will only increase your stress. Therefore, I thought of a plan to solve this problem.
Sudou: What kind of sorcery did you use to come up with this? Alright, tell me the plan.
He could have time for studying and club activities. Sodou, believing such a thing to be impossible, snorted in amusement.
Horikita: We have two weeks from now. You all started studying during class every day as if your lives depended on it.
This seems to have surprised everyone.
Horikita: You three don't usually work hard during class, do you?
Well, I think they waste more time doing something stupid than actually paying attention in class.
Ike: You can't know that about us.
Horikita: So, do you guys work hard during class?
Ike: Well... No, we don't. We just sat until class ended.
Horikita: So, in other words, you guys waste six hours a day doing nothing. Instead of struggling to study for an available hour or two after class, we are wasting a much larger period of time and the more precious that time improves.
Kushida: Well, certainly...in theory it would work, but isn't that absurd?
Kushida was worried and rightly so, those three obviously have difficulty following the class and understanding the things that sensei explains, so it would be difficult to believe that they can understand the problems on their own.
Ike: I can't even follow class.
Horikita: I know. Then we will do short study sessions during our free time.
Horikita then turned to the next page. He had a full description of what we were going to do.
In short, after the first period, she intends to get everyone to meet and discuss what they didn't understand. In the ten minute break, Horikita will teach them what they didn't know.
And then the whole process would repeat itself in the next period. Of course it's not as simple as it seems, after all it can be difficult for you and others to follow and understand the issues in this short period of time.
Ike: W-wait. I'm confused. Will this really work?
Ike also recognized that this would be difficult.
Ike: I mean, isn't it going to be impossible to understand these things in just 10 minutes apart?
Horikita: Don't worry. During class, I will make sure to get all the answers to each question. And then the four of us will teach you face to face individually or in pairs.
If we use this system, I think there is a chance that everyone can understand it in just 10 minutes.
Horikita: You two, if it's just explaining the answers, you can do that, right?
Ike: But I still don't think we can do it in that short time. Studying is so difficult.
Horikita: The content covered in a single period is surprisingly small. It's just one page of notes, two at most. If you cut it down to just the test content, you can probably write in half a page of information. Anyway, if time is not enough, we can always use the lunch break. I'm not saying I want you to understand the material. I just want you to memorize it. During class, you should focus on the teacher's voice and what is written on the board. Forget about taking notes at this point.
Ike: So you're telling us not to take notes?
Horikita: Trying to memorize things is surprisingly difficult when you're writing notes.
She's right, it will probably be difficult for the three of them to memorize the content while taking notes.
Horikita: Just try it. Give it a chance before saying no.
Sudou: I still don't want to do this. I want to spend my time differently than someone who studies 24 hours a day. Besides, I can't possibly study with a cheap trick like that.
Sudo, who was quiet until now, still decided to refuse Horikita's strategy, saying that it's a cheap trick, but it's funny coming from someone who planned to leave it to study the day before the test.
Horikita: It seems like you're misunderstanding the fundamental concept here. Cheap tricks? There is no such thing. You just have to spend your time carefully. This doesn't just apply to studies, but to all other things as well. Or are you telling me that there are shortcuts and cheap tricks in basketball?
Sudou: Of course there is no such thing. Only after practicing and training do you get good.
Sudou then realized that he was caught by horikita's words.
Horikita: For people who can't focus or work seriously, this is impossible. However, you put all your effort into basketball. I want you to put some of that effort into studying, even if it's just a fraction of what you have. Put in the effort so you can continue playing basketball at this school. Don't throw away your own potential.
Horikita was serious in what she said to Sudou.
However, her pride still got in the way. He seemed unable to agree to the plan.
Sudou:... I'm not going to participate yet. Thanks for being more civil, but I still can't agree.
It looks like I'll have to put my plan into practice, since Sudo doesn't want to give in to his pride.
Ryusei: Hey Kushida, do you have a boyfriend?
Kushida: Huh? Ehhh?! I don't have one, why are you asking something like that?! she asked embarrassed.
So I put my arm around Kushida's neck, getting closer to her and then she blushed a little.
Ryusei: If I get 50 points on the test, would you go out with me?
Ike: That's not fair nogami, you're going to win because in the last test you scored 96 points in the last test!.
I turn away from Kushida and say
Ryusei: If I really wanted I could have asked 80 or 90, I said 50 so you would have a better chance and if I score more than 50 I won't go out with Kushida but that only applies to me.
Ike: Oh if that's the case I'm excited, Kushida-chan will go out with me if I get 50 points or better yet I'll get 51.
Yamauchi: No no no, go out with me kushida-chan I will score 52 points.
I knew when something involves Kushida these two quickly agree to do something, it was right to use meeting with Kushida as a prize so that they would be motivated to try harder in their studies, and it seems that Kushida also understood my plan with Ayanokouji.
Kushida: How embarrassing...I don't judge people by test results, you know?
Ryusei: But they need a reward for trying. Look at their enthusiasm. If there is such a reward, they will probably try even harder.
Kushida: W-well, how about this? I will go on a date with the person who gets the highest score on the test... I like people who work hard, even when they don't like doing it.
Ike: Woahhhhh! I'll do it! I'll do it!
The two were very happy with the possibility of a meeting with Kushida.
Ryusei: So sudo are you going to try too? This could be your chance.
Even though I know that Sudou isn't like the other two, I'm hoping he gives in to the temptation of having a date with the most popular girl in our class.
Sudou: A date, huh? I think it's not bad. Hmm, I have no choice... I'll participate too.
Kushida then let out a sigh of relief.
Ayanokouji: Remember boys are the simplest creatures on earth.
Ryusei: And girls are the hardest to understand.
I couldn't help but say that.
Ryusei: ouch!
Horikita stepped on my foot, apparently not liking what I said.
...
A few days passed after the conversation with those three, and the study group was reunited and has been going very well.
Of course, none of them thought it was fun or cool to study, but they all did their part to avoid being expelled from school. The stupid trio began to change their behavior. They frantically repeated everything written on the blackboard, wracking their brains to understand the problems. Sudou was occasionally on the verge of fainting, but he managed to stay awake, probably because of his dream of being a professional basketball player. Most people would laugh at such high aspirations, but he pursued them sincerely. Most of us first graders, fresh out of elementary school, didn't yet have a "dream." Many just briefly thought: "What will I be when I grow up?", But nothing more. In comparison, Sudou, who already works
for his dream, he is a commendable person.
Anyway, how does this school define and measure ability? at least it is not measured only by academic ability, this is clear seeing the results of ike sudou and yamauchi.
If the school enrolled talented students in other areas, though, it was strange that they had a system in place to expel students for just one failing grade. At least, that's how I saw it.
If the system itself is not a lie, then there are not many possible answers.
Or are they causing difficult problems for Ike and Sudou so they can overcome them?
This question popped into my mind. Well, there probably isn't such a simple answer. Both the lessons and the small tests are more difficult than what Sudou and the others can solve.
After the morning classes ended, Horikita looked at her notes with a small nod. Looks like she managed to compile all the answers
Even though she is teaching the stupid trio, Horikita wanted the best results possible. That was her nature. Our class assessment would improve, as would individual student skills.
However, trying to get perfect scores was absurd. All we want is for lke and the others to pass.
As soon as the bell rang for lunch, everyone rushed to the cafeteria. Lunch lasts 45 minutes. After eating, everyone was promised to meet in the library for 20 minutes to study.
At first, we planned to study in the classroom, but since it would be noisy, we decided to study in the library to concentrate better.
However, I think the real reason was so Horikita could avoid Hirata. Hirata's group usually discusses after-school study methods during lunch. If we were close, they would probably try to talk to us. She absolutely doesn't want that.
When I was about to go out to eat something before starting the study group, I heard someone calling me.
Horikita: Nogami-kun, could you come with me so we can talk about the content we will review for each subject in the study group?
Ryusei: Of course, but can we stop by a place so I can buy something to eat while we talk?
Horikita: Yes, no problem.
After saying that we both left the classroom.
Ryusei: So, what subject do you plan to teach them today?
Horikita: History and geography, I think they will be the "easiest" for them to remember.
Ryusei: I agree, starting with these two subjects will be good for them.
Horikita: So do you think they'll be able to pass the exam if we keep up what we're doing until the day of the exam?
Ryusei: Good for us, but mainly you have done your best to teach them, but it will also depend on how willing they are to make an effort to learn.
Horikita: I see you have the same opinion as me.
???: Oh!, Ryusei!
I immediately recognized the person who was calling my name.
Ryusei: Nee-san!
I was surprised to see her here, as I thought she would be with the third year crowd.
Ryusei: Why are you here?
Maki: I was going to meet people from my club, since we planned to have lunch together.
Ryusei: Oh okay.
Maki: So you're not going to introduce me to your classmate!?
She said this in a happy and innocent tone but I know she will try to do something, horikita who was also quiet was probably surprised that I have a sister and who also studies at this school.
Ryusei: Nee-san, there's my classmate Horikita Suzune.
Ryusei: Horikita, this is my older sister Nogami maki.
Horikita: Nice to meet you, nogami-senpai.
Maki: Also nice to meet you, horikita-san, Ryusei already told me about you.
I KNEW SHE WOULD DO IT.
Horikita: Oh yeah.
Horikita said giving me a half-lidded look saying "What did you say".
Maki: He said that you are very stubborn and you are also very intelligent, but you being very intelligent was expected after all you are horikita-kun's little sister.
This left us both surprised.
Horikita: Do you know my brother, nogami-senpai?
Maki: Yes, I'm from class A in the third year, me, horikita-kun and akane are a trio of inseparable friends!
She said smiling.
Horikita: Did you know that? Horikita asks me
Ryusei: I must have forgotten.
Maki: So what did you two intend to do?
Ryusei: We would first get something to eat and then meet up with some other classmates to form a study group.
Maki: That's new, committing to showing up to a study group twice in a row.
Ryusei: Well, I promised I would help.
Maki: I'm glad you have something to do after class ends even if it only lasts a short time, so you don't get all lazy.
I just kept quiet as I had no right to refute what she said.
Maki: Well, I'm going to leave so I don't disturb you two, see you later.
She said as she walked away.
Horikita: Then I'm not stubborn.
Horikita said this giving me a deadly look that looked like it would kill me.
Ryusei: But I meant it in a good way, that you didn't give up easily and you don't back down.
Horikita: I'll let this one slide because I need you to help with the study group.
I'm even scared to think what she would do if it weren't for that.
Horikita: So your sister is from class A... tell me something, do you think you are an inferior person to your sister because she is in the best class while you are in the worst class?
I'm surprised by a question like that but I can see that she asked this question because my situation is similar to hers, after all, we both have brothers who are in class A while we are in class D.
Ryusei: No, I don't mind at all, Horikita I could see that you apparently admire your older brother a lot and I'm no different, I love my sister a lot but I know we both have a lot of differences.
She continued listening to me attentively
Ryusei: And I won't be like her because we have different thoughts about many things, but it doesn't matter if I'm from class D, C, B or A she would continue to treat me the same way she always treated me. And if I felt inferior to my sister just because she was in class A and I was in D, she would definitely hit me and yell at me so I wouldn't feel down because of something like that.
I say smiling at Horikita.
Horikita: I understand but we've already wasted too much time on this, let's go to the library.
Ryusei: Okay.
...
Ryusei POV
???: I thought I would need more help, but geography is surprisingly easy.
???: Chemistry is also easier than I thought.
We were currently in the library having met with everyone and starting to teach the three of them and Ike and Yamauchi were talking about how surprisingly easy some of the subjects were.
Ryusei: That's because there are a lot of memorization problems. Subjects like math or English have questions that you can't answer if you don't have the basics.
Horikita: Don't let your guard down. There may be current events in the test.
Ike: Current events?
Horikita: Current events. Events in politics or the economy that may have occurred in recent years. In other words, there may be questions that cover material that is not in the textbook
Ike: Ugh, isn't that against the rules? That means we have no idea what will be on the test, right?
Horikita: That's why you must study everything.
Ike: I suddenly hate geography.
Ryusei: Come on don't complain, if you want to pass the exam, you'll have to study these subjects.
Of course, current events issues may come up on the test, but I think it's something we can ignore for now.
If you worry too much about things that might not even be on the test, you'll miss the important parts.
Ayanokouji: Shouldn't we hurry?
Horikita: Yes. We're late because a certain someone was late.
Ayanokouji: Are you still stuck with this?
Kushida: Here's a question for everyone. Who invented inductive reasoning?
Ike: Um... it's this guy we learned about last class, right? Uh
While thinking about the answer, Ike twirled his pen.
Yamauchi: Oh, it's this guy. His name made me really hungry, so I remembered.
Sudou: Francisco Xavier! or something like that, right?
Ryusei: Almost but it's wrong.
Ike: I remembered! It was Francis Bacon! Ike shouted.
Kushida: Correct.
Ike: Yes! I will get a perfect score!
Ryusei: Don't exaggerate.
I say referring to what ike said.
But if we keep studying hard over the next few weeks, then all three will have a good chance of passing.
Kushida: Everyone, please take care of your health. We don't have much time to study
Horikita: Don't worry. Not about those three, anyway,
Ike: As expected of Horikita-chan. It seems like you are trusting us!
Ryusei: Pftt.
I held myself back from laughing, because I understood what Horikita meant, she said "Idiots don't catch colds."
Student: Hey, be quiet. Her complaining is getting annoying.
A nearby student turned his gaze towards us.
Ike: Sorry, sorry, I think I got carried away. I was happy to have resolved the issue. The person who came up with inductive reasoning is Francis Bacon, did you know? I won't lose points on this question~
Ike said as he laughed happily.
Student: Huh? Are you guys in class D by any chance?
Ryusei: "How wonderful this is going to start again" I think sarcastically
A group of boys nearby looked at all of us at once. At his reaction, Sudou became angry.
Sudou: "So what? So what if we are in class D. Do you have a problem with that?"
Student: No, no, we have no problem with that. I'm Yamawaki, from class C. Nice to meet you.
Yamawaki looked at us as he laughed.
Yamawaki: Well, how should I say this... I think it's good that this school divides classes by ability. This way I don't have to study with people like you
Sudou: What!?. Sudou's fury flared
Seriously, this idiot just came here to make fun of us, they have nothing better to do.
Yamawaki: You're just getting mad at the truth. If we fight inside the school, I wonder how many points you would lose. Oh wait, you don't have points to begin with. In that case, you would probably be expelled, right?
Sudou: That's fine with me. May come!
Ryusei: Sudou calm down if you start a fight it will be bad for our class as we won't know what punishments will be applied, so just ignore this trio of clowns from class C.
Yamawaki: What did you call us!?
Ryusei: Are you deaf? I don't see why you are bragging, after all, in my opinion there is no difference between class D and C.
Yamawaki: There seems to have been some kind of miscalculation between classes A to C. But you are on a totally different level.
He said while laughing
Horikita: That's a pretty inconsistent measuring stick. The way I see it, all classes except class A are grouped together.
As soon as horikita said that, yamawaki stopped laughing and looked at her.
Yamawaki: For an inferior product that doesn't have a single point, you're saying some cheeky things. Do you think you can say whatever you want just because you have a pretty face?
Horikita: Thank you for your words that have no logical connection to the topic. I've never been self-conscious about my appearance until now, but I feel uncomfortable being praised by you.
Yamawaki:!!!!
Hitting the table, Yamawaki got up, Sudo also got up ready to fight and I got up too but to prevent a fight
???: Okay, stop, stop!
B-but what does this girl think she's doing!!!
Sudou: What? This doesn't involve you, stay out, he said,
???: Doesn't it involve me? I'm trying to use this library, I can't just ignore this disturbance. If you really wanted to hit him, couldn't you do it outside?
Sudou quieted down after she said that.
???: And you, aren't you provoking him? If this continues like this, I will have to report it to the school, do you want that?
Yamawaki: S-sorry. We don't want this, Ichinose,
I've told Honami several times when I see a situation like this, not to get involved, but she continues to be stubborn.
Honami: Hey, let's go. If we try to study here, we will end up catching the stupidity around us.
Yamawaki: Y-yes.
Yamawaki and his group of friends left the area.
I got close to her, looking at her like a teacher about to reprimand his student, she noticed this and gave a smile.
Honami: Oh! Hi Ryu-chan!
Ryusei: Don't give me a "Hi Ryu-chan", what possessed that empty head of yours to get into an almost fight!?
I said flicking her forehead.
Ichinose: Kyaa, my friends and I are studying and it's noisy because of this discussion, so I felt obliged to intervene.
She said with teary eyes because of my flick.
Ryusei: What if one of them hadn't heard you and was going to attack you?
Of course if that happened I would obviously defend her but what if that happened when I wasn't around.
Honami: Ah, but that's over, there's no need to worry!
She said happily
Ryusei: When you say that, I only get more worried.
Meanwhile, the people in the study group just stared in surprise at the interaction between me and honami.
Honami: So Ryu-chan, are you here also studying with your classmates?
Ryusei: Yes, that's why you're here too, aren't you? how is it going?
Honami: *Sigh* It's been tiring as we've had to review everything again since they changed the test topics.
Ryusei: Huh? How did it change?
This not only caught my attention but also caught the attention of horikita and the study group.
Honami: Yes, it changed, didn't your teacher tell you?
Ryusei: We weren't informed of that. Maybe it's a different test for each class?
Honami: I don't know if this is the case, but I think you should ask your teacher, just to be sure.
Ryusei: That's what I plan to do, thank you honami.
After saying that, Honami returns to her colleagues, and I turn to Horikita and the others.
Ryusei: Well, I'm going to the teachers' room to see if that's true.
Horikita: I'll go with you, if it's true I want to know why we weren't warned.
Horikita spoke as she stood up from her chair.
Ryusei: I think it's better just the two of us go to avoid any complaints about having too many people.
I speak to ayanokouji and the others.
Ayanokouji: Okay, we'll wait here.
With that said, Horikita and I went straight to the teachers' room, we needed to see if the topics really changed.
Arriving there we found Chabashira-sensei with the other teachers
Horikita: Sensei. We have something urgent to ask.
Chabashira: That was a good entry. You surprised the other teachers.
Horikita: I sincerely apologize for the sudden intrusion.
Chabashira: Okay, but we're in the middle of something. So please be brief.
Chabashira-sensei continued writing in his notebook, continuing his work.
Horikita: Last week, when you told us what would be covered in the test, did you make a mistake? A little earlier, a student from another class told us that their test was different
Without raising his eyebrow, Chabashira-sensei listened to Horikita. Then Sensei, who had been listening silently, suddenly stopped moving his pen.
Chabashira: The topics covered in the test were changed last Friday. Sorry, I forgot to tell you.
Horikita/Ryusei: What-!?
Ryusei: "I can't believe it! How could she forget to tell us something so important to us"
After writing the new test scope on a piece of paper, she tore out the page and handed it to Horikita. The pages of the book on paper were all the material we had already covered. Most of the new material was from before we started the study group, things that Sudou and the others hadn't learned.
Chabashira: Horikita, thanks to you, I noticed my mistake. Thanks to the rest of you too. Until later.
Realizing that there was nothing the two of us could say or do, we left, going to the staff to inform them about the change in the test.
Ike: Huh!!! What do you mean they decided to change the topics!!!
Ryusei: Yeah, they've changed since last week.
Yamauchi: And now what do we do!?
Yamauchi asked desperately, which was understandable considering his situation.
Ryusei: Well, we're going to continue doing the study group, but now we're going to put all our effort into this one week left for the tests.
Horikita: Kushida-san. I have a small favor to ask of you. horikita asked kushida.
Kushida: Hmm? What is it?
Horikita: I want you to tell the rest of class D about the changes to the test
With that, I gave her the paper containing the page numbers that Chabashirasensei gave us.
Kushida: I'm fine with that, but is it okay for me to do this?
Ryusei: You're the best option, if you and Hirata inform the rest of the class, I'm sure there won't be a mess among the students.
Kushida: Okay, I understand. Leave it to me. I will tell Hirata-kun and everyone else.
Horikita: I'll prepare for tomorrow. By then, I should have narrowed down everything we'll need.
Horikita tried her best to appear calm, but I could feel her anxiety. The time we spent studying had been useless, and we were back to square one. Besides, now we only had a week left.
However, the biggest concern was the motivation of Sudou, Ike and Yamauchi
Sudou: Horikita. I know it's been difficult, but I'll trust you.
Sudou lowered his head to Horikita.
Sudou: Starting tomorrow, I will take a break from club activities for a week. Will this work?
Sudou:...That's...
While it was a good decision from Sudou, it was also surprising, I didn't expect him to take this action.
However, the offer surprised Horikita so much that she could not accept it immediately.
Horikita: Is everything really okay with you? It's going to be difficult, you know?
Sudou: Studying is difficult, isn't it?
Widely smiling, Sudou patted her shoulder.
Horikita: Sudou, are you serious? She asked.
Sudou: Yes. I mean, I'm also annoyed with our teacher and those idiots in Class C.
I guess you could call it a blessing in disguise. Due to this difficult situation, Sudou is starting to give studying a chance. He probably felt like he wouldn't pass if he didn't try harder. Sudou's new motivation seems to have inspired Ike and Yamauchi.
Ike: I guess we have no choice, we will try harder too
Horikita: Okay. If you prepared for this, we can work together. However, Sudou-kun-"
Horikita took Sudou's hand off her shoulder.
Horikita: Don't touch me. If you do that again, I won't show you any mercy.
Sudou: You're not cute at all, woman.
Ryusei: You're expecting this from the wrong person, sweat.
I say with an amused smile on my face, in response Horikota gives me a deadly look.
Yamauchi: We will definitely pass!
Kushida: Me too!"
Kushida, also feeling motivated, stretched out her fist.
Kushida: Ayanokouji-kun, you too! She screamed.
Ayanokouji: Huh? No, I'll-
Kushida: Did you happen to give up?
Ayanokouji: ...I thought about it a little...
Horikita: You promised to work with me. You forgot? Horikita asked as she stared at the ayanokouji.
Ayanokouji: I'm not good at teaching. People have different strengths and weaknesses, right?
Ryusei: Your test score wasn't that bad, right?
Ayanokouji: There isn't much time, so I think it's better for the three of you to work together to teach these three, rather than doing individual sessions. Also, there is something that is bothering me.
Ryusei: Is something bothering you?
Ayanokouji said, looking like something was missing, well, but the main thing now is to make an effort to teach these three the new topic.
