Chapter Two: Decision Making

AUTHORS NOTE! I hope you all liked the first chapter. This one is going to be a bit shorter but is still going to be important. Also if you were wondering why this is rated M, well stick around for later chapters and well you will see what I mean ;)

Saturday May 31st

Time: 06:30 Am

Location S.T.A.R. Labs Infirmary.

Caitlin had stayed behind for two reasons, One was to monitor Barry, the other was because she was really hurt seeing him injured and wanted to spend as much time with him once he woke up. Also because she had fallen asleep while leaning against Barry's shoulder.

Barry woke up to Caitlin gently snoring in his ear. He smiled to himself and decided that she should probably know that he was awake.

He looked over and gently whispered, "Hey Caitlin, wake up."

Caitlins eyes opened slowly to see Barry looking over at her. "Good morning," She said, her voice raspy from sleep. Once she realized that she had fallen asleep on Barry's shoulder she began blushing and quickly turned to hide it. However Barry noticed and smiled.

" How are you feeling?" Caitlin asked. The blush slowly dissipates.

" Better, I have a bit of a headache but other than that I feel fine."

" Here Take this." Caitlin says handing him an excedrin and a glass of water.

Barry takes the pill. "Thanks"

"Anything for you Barry." Caitlin Says, the blush returning.

Barry smiles at Caitlin. He then reaches out and Takes Caitlin's hand in his.

"You ok?" Barry asks, concerned about Caitlin. "You seem a bit off."

" I'm fine, I just got really scared seeing how bad he beat you and how fast it happened."

"Well next time I see this Guy i'm gonna kick his ass." Barry says.

"I'm gonna hold you to that." Caitlin says playfully.

"Speaking of which we need to figure out what he is going to do."

Just then Shadow teleports into the room. Barry instantly stands up and shields Caitlin.

"What do you Want?" Barry said Sharply.

"Well I decided to move my deadline… TO NOW!" Shadow Said with an Evil tone.

" Well the answer is no." Barry said sternly

Just then Barry speeds over to him to try and punch him and in the process knocks over a glass of water that ends up splashing Shadow's face causing him to cry out in pain.

"YOUR CITY WILL NOT BE SAFE, THEY WILL KNEEL BEFORE ME IN DUE TIME.

Shadow then teleports out of there.

"Caitlin, are you ok?"

" Yea and I think water might weaken Shadow."

" You're right, when I fought him last night he seemed to be weakened by the rain and it looked like he was turning back into a human slightly." Barry said thinking back to the previous night.

Cisco rushed into the room. " OK WHAT HAPPENED!"

Barry And Caitlin "Relax Cisco!"

" Ok fine just please tell me what happened."

" Shadow was here and he threatened us. He also probably plan—."

" Wait a minute Cisco, you told me last night that you weren't feeling well so I told you to go home and not come into the lab today." Caitlin said.

Shadow instantly transformed back to his normal state. "Dammit!"

In less than the blink of an eye Barry and Shadow are in a full on fist fight.

Meanwhile in the parking lot of S.T.A.R. labs Oliver and felicity got out of their car and entered the building only to see the fight that was happening and Caitlin standing in the corner frozen in fear.

Oliver runs to the trunk of his car and gets out his bow and one arrow. He runs back inside and Barry sees him and knows what Oliver is planning, he knows Oliver is not gonna kill Shadow, just injure him badly. Barry makes a dash for the door and he must admit Shadow is fast enough to be only a few seconds behind Barry, which is still not good for Shadow but it is better than most.

Shadow dashes towards Barry, not even noticing Oliver. And in the blink of an eye Shadow has a Arrow laced with a poison that will leave shadow well lets just say he is going to get used to the taste of half digested food. ( Quick note Shadow is a meta who can shroud his body in a cloud of smoke. He can still take damage and he eats, sleeps and uses the bathroom like a normal person. The smoke acts almost like armor.)

One puff of smoke later and he was gone.

" Oliver when the hell did you get here." Barry said.

" Caitlin told me what happened so last night I flew out here."

" Sorry Barry I was going to tell you but then we got interrupted."

" It's fine, Cait."

Caitlin always loved it when Barry used that nickname for her, just something about it made her feel adored by him.

" So Barry, how are you feeling?" Oliver and Felicity asked at the same time.

" Better now thanks to Caitlin and Cisco's help."

" Speaking of which, where is Cisco? He and I were going to go over some tech upgrades."

" He called in sick." Barry Said.

" Oh ok. If you see him tell him I hope he is feeling better" Felicity said, a little disappointed.

" No problem." Barry and Caitlin Said.

"Hey uh me and Felicity were gonna go out for lunch do you and Caitlin want to come?"

"I mean if Caitlin is up for then yeah we will go."

" I'm fine with it." Caitlin Said.

And with that they were off to Jitters.
