Chapter III: Camping Discovery.

Author's Note! Buckle Up chuckle fucks this is going to be a bit of a long one.

Tuesday June 8th

Time: 08:00 AM

Location: Caitlin's Apartment.

Barry stood outside Caitlin's apartment. He was going to have gone camping with both Caitlin and Cisco but Cisco had a date with a girl that he met at Jitters, among other things to deal with. Shadow must have either died or forgotten about what he said because it has been a week and literally nothing happened, except for the Flash stopping the usual breaking and entering, drug deal, and robbery.

Barry gathered his courage and knocked on Caitlin's door. About thirty seconds later a half awake Caitlin, wearing flannel pajama pants and a loose fitting T shirt, answered the door.

"Hey Barry, come on in." Caitlin said with a very raspy voice.

She sounds so cute when she's tired, Barry thought to himself. He sat down on the couch and was surprised when a pure white cat jumped onto the couch and looked at him.

" When did you get a cat?"

" Oh, that's Snowball. I've had him for a few weeks. Don't worry he won't hurt a fly." Caitlin said as she sat next to Barry.

" Cool" Barry said, pun half intended. Caitlin giggled a little at the Joke.

" So Barry, why did you stop by?"

" I was wondering if you wanted to go camping, Cisco said that he wouldn't be able to go because he has a date, but I figured you might want to." Barry said as he pet Snowball who was now sitting on Barry's lap.

" That sounds like a fun Idea. I have a tent and sleeping bag somewhere around here. I think I put it in the closet under the staircase."

Barry gently moved Snowball off his lap and then flashed over to the closet and got Caitlin's tent and Sleeping bag.

" Thanks Barry, I'm gonna go take a shower and get changed." Caitlin said happily.

" You're welcome." Barry said as Caitlin went upstairs and into the Bathroom.

Barry then decided to make Bacon and eggs as a surprise.

Caitlin got out of the shower, got changed, and packed up her clothes for the next three days.

As she went down stairs she was greeted by the amazing smell of bacon and eggs.

She walked into the kitchen and saw Barry with a grin on his face as he turned off the stove and loaded the food onto two plates.

" Barry, you did not have to do this."

" Well what else did you expect me to do?" Barry teased playfully.

Caitlin giggled and accepted the plate that Barry offered her as they sat down at the Kitchen table.

" Oh Barry, can you give me a minute? I need to call Joe and ask if he is willing to come over and feed Snowball while we are gone."

" Sure thing." Barry said.

Caitlin called Joe and he agreed to it.

Caitlin then took a bite of the bacon. " Mmm Barry this is so good."

Barry smiled at the compliment. " Glad you like it."

The two then ate and joked for the next few minutes before they grabbed their things and loaded them into the back of Caitlin's car. Barry drove and they were at the campsite in about an hour.

Barry looked over to let Caitlin know they got there but she was asleep.

He got out of the car and went over to her side, opened the door and gently woke her up.

" Hey sleepyhead, wake up." Barry said quietly.

" Hhmm? Oh hey Barry I must have fallen asleep."

"We are here so let's get our tents set up." Barry said as he helped her out of the car.

They get their tents set up and decide to go for a walk in the surrounding woods.

After a little while they find a stream and decide to sit down next to it and watch the water flow.

They spend the rest of the day roaming around the forest and doing various things.

It is now 6 pm and they are sitting next to each other on a log roasting marshmallows, they put their marshmallows on graham crackers as well as some chocolate and begin to eat their s'mores.

" They taste so good." Barry said, taking a bite.

" Yes they do." Caitlin said, moving slightly closer to Barry.

They finish eating and then Caitlin leans her head against Barry's shoulder. Barry smiles and rests his head on hers as he puts a warm arm around her.

They spend the next few hours talking and then decide to call it a night.

Barry dumped some water on the hot coals of the smoldering remnants.

" Good night Barry." Caitlin said with a sweet voice. " Good night Cait." Barry said back to her.

About an hour later Caitlin was still awake, she was tired but she just could not fall asleep. On top of that she was also a bit cold because her sleeping bag had somehow gotten a tennis ball sized hole in it. Caitlin turned over and saw a faint light coming from Barry's tent, she figured that he was probably still up and decided to go over and at least talk to him.

She unzipped her sleeping bag and put on her shoes, she unzipped and zipped the tent door and walked over to Barry's tent.

She mustered up her courage and then spoke up, " Hey uhh Barry do you mind if I come in?"

" Sure thing." Barry said as he sat up.

Caitlin entered and re-zipped the tent door. She then sat down next to Barry on the floor of the tent.

" Let me guess, can't sleep?" Barry asked, a little concerned.

" That and I'm freezing, I didn't realize my sleeping bag had a hole in it."

Barry then took off the hoodie that he wore over his T-shirt, he then offered it to Caitlin.

" Barry I can't take this, then you are gonna be the one freezing."

" I will be fine Cait, besides you are the one freezing your ass off."

" Ok fine." Caitlin said feeling a little guilty but also thankful for Barry's kindness. She put on the hoodie and was instantly surrounded by so many things: warmth, the scent of Barry, the softness of the fabric on her arms, and the feeling of peace.

" Barry this might sound a bit weird and I understand if you say no but could you maybe put your arm around me like you did earlier." Caitlin said with worry in her eyes of how he would react.

" Why not." Barry said as he put an arm around her and pulled her closer. He could not believe that he was getting this far, but he did not want to press his luck, however he did want to be the one to make the next move.

" You're really warm." Caitlin said snuggling into his side, her head resting snugly on his shoulder.

Barry didn't know how to respond, hell he didn't even know if he should, he had only ever really had one girlfriend so to speak and things only lasted about seven months between them. It was the girl's fault because she was a cheating bitch but Barry felt he was to blame for giving her a reason to cheat even though he couldn't think of anything he did wrong.

Caitlin realized what Barry was thinking and gave him a reassuring look that instantly set his mind back on track.

Just then their eyes met and they both saw a spark as well as both of their hearts skipping a beat. They both knew that eachother felt the same way and like clockwork they both closed their eyes and leaned in for a slow and gentle kiss.

Barry's heart practically leapt into his throat as he kissed Caitlin. Her lips are so soft and they taste like marshmallows. He thought to himself He pulled her into his lap so they were now facing each other.

Meanwhile Caitlin was completely lost in the sensation of the kiss. She felt herself being pulled into his lap and his arms wrapping around her waist. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close.

They finally pulled away slightly to catch their breaths. They look into each other's eyes and stay like that for a while.

" Barry, do you mind if I stay here for the rest of the night?" Caitlin asked softly.

" I don't mind." Barry said as he opened up the sleeping bag and laid down.

" Thank you." Caitlin said as she crawled in and zipped it up. She was surprised at the amount of room in it considering their height difference.

Barry wrapped his arms around her and said, " You're welcome Caitlin." Caitlin then moved onto Barry's chest and snuggled into him. He rested one hand in her hair and the other on her back, he then gently started scratching the back of Caitlin's head.

" Good night Barry."

" Good night Dr. Snow" He said as he gently Kissed her forehead. He reached over and turned off the lantern and before they knew it they were sound asleep.

They woke up at around sunrise and gave each other a sweet good morning kiss.

They spent the rest of the trip sharing sweet and romantic moments. They also went fishing and caught a few.
