"Uesugi-kun, please wait a moment." A redheaded girl with an ahoge called out to the young man. It was none other than one of the girls he tried to avoid. Nakano Itsuki, was infront of him.
He tried to pass her, which he did successfully but the girl was persistent. She followed him out to try to talk to him again.
"Uesugi-kun, please wait for a moment." She called out to him again which worked as he stopped and turned to the girl.
"Do you need something Nakano-san?" He asked.
As she heard that, her heart ached and she felt emotions swirling within her. Did Fuutarou not use her first name like before? Why? She thought as the two stood face to face.
"Nakano-san?"
"Ah yes! I would like to ask you something if it is alright with you..." She said as she recollected her thoughts. She needed to ask him why did he quit.
The young man nodded saying that it was fine with him as the two moved to a bench at a park not to far from their previous location.
"Why did you quit being our tutor Uesugi-kun?" She asked him a stern look on her face as the man had a relaxed look as he had already expected this if ever he had to meet with them.
"What your sister, the second eldest said rung true to me... I was the one who caused things to go this way. And I left because I don't think I am the one you five need... no, you need someone who can understands your bond as sisters as well as your emotions better than me. That's why I left Nakano-san. I left by my own conviction so I would not bother you girls anymore..."
As Itsuki was about to speak, she was cut off by Fuutarou.
"... You girls disliked me being in your lives before correct? I even insulted you when we first met so now that I'm out you girls should be happy that I won't intrude on your lives any longer. Plus your grades are far from failing so trying to bring me back to become your tutor would be useless and a waste. Not to mention your sister would be against it, so it would be better if you and the others refrain from contacting me from this point onward." He said with a soft smile, thinking that they would be glad that he was out of their lives as they were the ones who were against the tutoring in the first place.
The redhead was stunned from what she had
heard. Was he really bothered with their first meetings? And what did Nino really say to him that day to make him feel that way. As she tried to talk to him again, Fuutarou immediately left as he said he was about to be late for work while apologising to the girl as he began to run for work.
Itsuki just stood there watching the young man leaving for work as her hair fluttered to the cold wind.
'It really is cold out...' she thought as she placed her hand on her chest to try to soothe the aching in her heart as she started to walk home.
Fuutarou who just arrived at the convenience store, was met with Haruka cleaning the store.
"Sorry I'm late. I met up with an old friend." He said as he went inside the break room to change into uniform.
"Ah it's fine!" Said the young blonde with a big smile on her face as she continued to clean while Fuutarou, who was now in uniform was at the cash register serving the customers that were lining up.
After the customers left, Fuutarou went to help Haruka clean the store while Rikka watched the cash register this time. The three teens did work until it was almost time for the night shift to arrive.
"Hey Fuutarou, you have your finals next week right?"
"Yeah, and then it's Christmas break. You girls too?
"Yep! On Monday until Wednesday then it's winter break!"
"Mine's on Wednesday to Friday... Guess our schedule is really different."
"I really wanted us to hang out after the exams..." Said a dejected Haruka as she couldn't play with the young man with her sisters like the time they invited them for dinner the day before.
"Then let's all go to the shrine at new year's eve." Rikka said as she joined the two's conversation.
"Nice idea! Fuutarou will you come with us?" Said an excited Haruka.
"I've got nothing to do that day so I'll come." Saying that, the young man received a hug from the energetic Haruka accompanied with a radiant smile on her face.
'This really isn't too bad...' he thought as the three worked until it was time to change with the night shift with Fuutarou heading home.
Seeing that today was the weekend, Fuutarou thought of spending the day with his little sister as they currently have no debt and has quite a lot of money saved up.
"Hey Raiha where do you want to go for today? Don't hold back because your big brother will treat you for today!"
"Then can we go to the arcade again?"
"Of course! Get changed because we'll be going later at 10." He said receiving a bright smile for the young girl as she ran to her room to get changed.
"Oi Fuutarou take this too" his father said as he threw a set of motorcycle keys to him. "It's the bike when me and your mom used to go on dates and stuff. It's down inside the bakery and the condition is still good."
The young man looked at the keys when he
heard his father. Another memory of their late mother. His little sister doesn't have a lot of good memories of their mother and because of their debt from before so he'll take the chance to make some for her.
"I'll get you a beer when we get back" he said as he went to his room and change but not before he saw his dad giving him a thumbs up and a smile.
A/N: Quite a short and normal chapter this time. Exams are closing in for the young man as well as for the Kawano quintuplets. Fuutarou will also have a small date with his little sister to the arcade again but without a certain redhead joining them this time. Stay tuned till the next chapter of 'This story is quite fun to write!'. Farewell minna! (P.s Three songs isn't a oneshot for those who are asking and will be updated after or before I finish next chapter and Kuints and Quints confrontation will come soon)
