It was now time for Fuutarou to return to school and start his third year. While walking, the young man noticed a familiar butterfly ribbon girl whose head was down like she was reading something. Recognizing the girl, he called out, "Nino! You're quite early and are you not with your sisters today?"
The girl yelped in surprise, dropping the little purple notebook she was reading.
"Sorry for scaring ya." He apologised as he picked up the notebook and gave it to her. While giving it back, he noticed that the notebook had multiple notes from various subjects, including the ones he gave her during their tutoring sessions.
"It's fine, Fuu-kun..." She softly replied as she took the notebook from his hands and put it back in her bag.
"Studying quite early huh? Are you nervous about your make-up exam later?"
"Y-yes... I'm afraid that I won't be able to pass and... I might get left behind..." She meekly said as she started to match his pace. Fuutarou was curious about Nino, who was fierce and aggressive before, suddenly turned meek after the incident that Christmas. 'Did Yotsuba really scare her that much?' he thought as he tried to think of a way to make the girl feel a little better.
"The teacher let you take the exam after school right?" He asked the girl where he received a nod. "Then why don't I help you with some last minute studying at lunch later?"
She stopped in her tracks in disbelief. 'How is he so kind when I treated him like trash before?' she thought as she looked at his back and thinking about the times she was mean to him then how he saved her from falling like a prince, she felt her heartbeat slowly getting faster while feeling the heat rising in her face.
"Nino? Why'd you stop? You haven't answered my question yet."
Realising that she didn't answer him, she immediately replied, "O-oh, yes! T-thanks for helping me, Fuu-kun... Even if I was mean to you before..." She said with an apologetic smile.
"Didn't I say that we should just leave that in the past? Also, come on, let's hurry or else we'll be late." He said as he grabbed her hand and started to sprint.
Nino blushed at the sudden action as she started to feel his hand. She never really noticed his rough and big hand from the part-time jobs he worked before, nothing like her or her sister's hands. 'T-this feels nice...' She thought as she started to sprint as well as gripping his hand tighter.
Some passersby giggled at the sight as the two looked like a young couple while others were jealous of the boy for having a girl that beautiful with her hair flowing through the wind as they ran.
Her heartbeat became faster as they ran with her face having a slight tint of red. Usually she'd be tired just by running a little but when she was holding his hand, she didn't even feel tired but rather... she wanted to run more while holding his hand.
Gripping his hand tightly, she whispered, "I really do love him..."
Once they arrived at their school, a black limousine stopped in front of the school and the other quints came out of it. They noticed their tutor with Nino holding hands and they pouted.
"Nino, you should've told me that you were going to walk with him. I wanted to walk with him too.", said a pouting Miku.
"I thought I wouldn't have to worry about you anymore, Nino. But it seems like I was wrong."
"Nino, you should not displaying such affection openly it public. And you, Fuu-chan. I won't tolerate this either. Unless you were to hold mine as well." Itsuki said as she held out her hand, her face full of red while students watched the former loner being asked to hold hands.
As Itsuki slowly approached to hold his hand, another hand beat her to it. "Morning Fuu!" Yotsuba greeted as she gripped his hand while hugging him. "Let's see which class we're in! I hope that I'll be in the same class!" Yotsuba energetically said as she lead Fuutarou to the bulletin board.
Seeing what what was written on the board, the quints faces were immediately filled with joy.
"I-I'm in the same class as Fuutarou?"
"Seems like Onee-san can keep a close eye on you so no one would steal you~"
"I hope to sit next to you this year as well, Fuu-chan."
"Look, Fuu! We're in the same class!"
"I guess we all are. So shall we head to class?" He asked, receiving a nod from all five as they walked together, with him in the middle since they've agreed to share him equally. For now...
Arriving at their classroom, he saw some familiar faces like Takeda, Tsubaki, Maeda and Matsui and some new ones. He greeted all of them before choosing their seats. Of course the Quints surrounded his seat to make sure that no one will steal him.
When all the students finished choosing their desk, their homeroom teacher arrived. "Apologies for being a little late since I had to tour some new students. You all may come in now." He said.
As the teacher signalled, five figures entered the room. Fuutarou gulped while four out of five quintuplets eyes suddenly became competitive. Nino was surprised as someone was suddenly right beside Fuutarou, her arm around his neck.
"Geez Haruka, at least introduce yourself first." Tsuyu sighed.
"Hehe, I can't help it since it's been a week since we saw him."
"Hello, darling~" Aki waved as she approached Fuutarou as well as the others did.
"Do take care of us, Fuu-chin~"
"So do I, Fuutarou."
"Sorry for Haruka, Fuutarou-chan but I hope you take care of us as well."
And suddenly their class gained five new students with Fuutarou who just laughed awkwardly and quints eyeing their rivals.
