TRIGGER WARNING (MENTIONES RAPE)
"About time you guys made it!" Heather exclaimed at Gwen and Trent annoyed.
"Got stuck in traffic." Trent said apologetically while Gwen just rolled her eyes.
Courtney, Alejandro, Duncan, Heather, Gwen, and Trent were gathered at heather's house she shared with her partner to talk about the party they were gonna throw for Geoff and Bridgette.
"Okay we're all here what's going to happen?" Duncan said clearly bored.
Courtney frowned before turning to him. "Are you always this rude?"
Duncan smirked. "I don't know, am I?"
"Stop it! Now I figured we should do this in sections. Music and decorations is Gwen and Trent. Gwen and Duncan you're gonna music dj. Trent and Courtney you're entertainment. Last Duncan and Courtney you're food and guest list." Heather started to list off.
Courtney felt her heart thump. She was going to work with Duncan?
Gwen frowned. "And what are you and Alejandro going to be doing?"
Heather narrowed her eyes. "I'm going to be working on venues, working out the time with Bridgette and Geoff and cleaning and ect. Plus me surpervising you. Anything else you wanna ask goth girl."
Gwen rolled her eyes.
"Now we're gonna start today cause we only have..."
Courtney looked over to Duncan and saw him smirking at her. What an ass.
————————————————————————
Courtney was anticipating working with Duncan today but instead had to work with Trent. She tried not to be disappointed about it. She was kind of bummed about how Gwen got to spend time with him first instead of her. If it was them two, they probably would've planned the food or something untill Duncan would distract her and kiss her neck. Then after that, things would've led to another and they would have crazy hot sex-
"Courtney?" A voice asked.
Courtney looked up and saw Trent looking at her concerned.
"Sorry I zoned out I was thinking about something at work." Courtney lied.
"I was thinking music? Maybe a band and fireworks? Maybe even a special show for them?" Trent repeated.
"Oh that sounds nice. Maybe we should. It all depends what kind of venue she gets. I'll let her know we're aiming for one that's outside or indoor and outside." Courtney said before texting her.
After 2 hours of looking for people online they called it a day and left. Trent was really nice. Unlocking the door to her apartment. She heard someone walking towards her.
Looking over she saw it was Duncan. "Duncan we need to talk.." Courtney said before gesturing her head to her apartment.
Duncan nodded and walked in and closed the door.
Courtney took off her jacket and was going to speak when Duncan's lips crashed on hers.
Her eyes widen in surprise as he caressed her back with his hand. He moved his lips to her neck aiming for her sensitive spot.
"D-Duncan oh my god." She arched her back.
He just hummed in replying giving her more pleasure.
"Duncan wait. We need to talk about something." She bit her bottom lip trying to keep her composure.
"We'll talk after. I need you..." He said unbuttoning her pants.
Courtney pulled away. "Wait! It's important."
Duncan smirked as he panted but said nothing so she could speak.
"We got caught." She said running a hand through her long dark locks.
Duncan's smirk fell. "What?"
"The neighbor. Gretchen. She saw you and is asking questions. I know what she's planning on doing." Courtney informed him.
He sighed flexing his jaw muscles. "So what are we going to do? That bitch is going to tell him. We need to figure something out." He said.
"Well I already did. I have a bed I got that never got build. I need you to build it. Also since we're partners in this party thing that can give us another excuse."
Duncan nodded.
"What do you think?"
"I think that we should break the bed so I can build the other one." Duncan smirked.
Courtney furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"Wait what?"
Duncan walked over to her and threw her on his shoulders and carried her to the bedroom.
"Duncan!" She laughed on the way to the bedroom.
—————————————————————————
A few days later.
Duncan made his way to the place his mom wanted to meet up at.
The country club. He felt so out of place here. The only thing they had here was the really good drinks and food.
He sat at one of the tables and waited for his mom.
A text sounded on his phone and he checked it. It was pictures from Geoff. He sent more pictures from his trip. Duncan couldn't help but smile.
He was happy for Geoff. He wanted to be as or even more happy than geoff one day.
He'd one day be married have a few Duncan juniors running around. But he couldn't see who he'd spend his whole life with.
It'd have to be someone strong. Willful. Optimistic, smart and knows how to have fun while can manage being responsible.
Suddenly a picture of Courtney came to mind. He furrowed his eyebrows. Courtney? Yeah she fit all the categories but she was married. Then they're just fuck buddies. Nothing More and he'd doubt that would change. He briefly wondered what kind of mom she'd be like.
"Duncan!" A voice called out.
Duncan turned to the voices to see his mom walking up. Pushing Courtney to the back of his mind he put on a bright smile.
"Ma! And here I thought you'd be late." He greeted her. His mom rolled his eyes as she stopped by him. "I'm never late."she said before kissing his cheek then sitting down.
"So you missed me that much you couldn't just come over?" Duncan asked.
"Yes. I love my sons. I'm hanging out with one tomorrow.i have to talk to all of you guys." She informed him.
Duncan smirk faltered. "Talk about what?" Usually they spoke to everyone at the same place. it must've been important.
"Don't worry I'll tell you later. Right now I wanna enjoy my time with you right now." She smiled before sipping her water she brought.
Duncan frowned. "Are you dying?"
She choked over her drink and dramatically spat it out. He rolled his eyes. His mom was always dramatic.
"No! God.what made you go there?!? She asked in shock.
"Are you okay ma'am?" A waitress came over to them and asked frazzled and concerned.
"Yes dear I'm sorry my son said something incredibly unexpectedly." She explained trying to fix herself.
Duncan rolled his eyes as he saw other people staring in shock and judgement.
"It's okay let me know when you're ready to order." she said to them both before leaving.
Duncan's mom rolled her eyes. "No I'm not dying.I would've told you that."
"Then what is it?" Duncan asked inquisitively.
"You'll find out."she said to him before the waitress asked if they wanted to order. As Duncan was saying his order Adelina grabbed her phone and texted her husband.
Adelina: get ready to come in

"So adultery is why you want a divorce correct?" The person asked typing something in his computer.
Courtney looked at the man infront of her trying to mask her annoyance
"That's what I said. 4 times."she replied.
"And apparently you cheated after countless times and is now cheating?" The man asked unenthusiastically.
"Yes!" She exasperated annoyed.
"So you're telling me. He cheated on you numerous of times. And you are just now getting a divorce." The man deadpanned rudely.
Courtney looked at his name tag and saw the name tag.
"Look Noah. You aren't here to be a sarcastic asshole. You're here to sign my papers to give to the judge to grant my request for divorce. Got it?" Courtney snapped.
Noah just rolled his eyes and typed some things on his computer.
"Alright. You should get approved. However since you guys are both wealthy and no prenup was signed be warned this may be a long process as long as a messy one." He answered checking his watch.
"Okay thanks. Am I going to get a call back? Or emailed? I don't want this in the mail." She said.
"I'll call for you to pick it up miss 'I'm too scared to tell him now'." He mocked standing up.
Courtney glared. "Oh shut the hell up."
Noah ignored the woman's rudeness and continued. "Since you aren't really in a rush to divorce I'll set our meeting till next week. And we'll go from there."
She stood up while grabbing her things. And walked out the door.
—————————————————————————
Duncan noticed his mom was checking her phone a lot.
"Expecting a call?" He asked before he bit into his Buffalo chicken French bread pizza.
His mom glanced up at him. "Oh I'm just talking to my bank I'm actually gonna rent out a cruise. Don't tell your brothers." She winked.
Duncan smiled. "That's cool."
"The thing is I want everyone to go. We have a family reunion coming up next year and why not have it there. It's my turn to plan it. So why not go all out." His mom boasted.
Duncan smirked. His mom was a riot.
"Will you go? I know you have some... issues with some people but I would like foryou to go for me and your brothers." She said reaching out for his hand. Her phone buzzed and her eyes scanned it before looking back at him.
He noticed something about her changed but he dismissed it. Maybe the bank wasn't giving her what she wanted. "I guess I can go. Don't expect me to wear a t-shirt."
She gave him a small smile before she focused on something behind him.
Duncan furrowed his eyebrows before turning around to see his dad.
"Hey Duncan, hey Adelina. This seat taken?" He asked nervously before sitting down.
Duncan turned to his mom with anger on his face.
"What the hell is he doing here?" The last person he wanted to see was his dad.
"I invited him here. Ca-" she started but got interrupted.
"I asked you to respect my feelings?! You lied at the dinner and probably from the whole phone call asking me to come here!" He couldn't help that his voice was raising and getting attention from other people making them stare. The anger he felt at the moment was all he could feel and think about.
"I do respect your feelings! We respect your feelings and I didn't lie. I just wanted us all to talk. I want you guys to make amends." his mother pleaded
"Yeah just hear me-" his father tried. Duncan stood up nearly flinging the chair back. "Don't call me again. I'm not going to the reunion. Don't talk to me anymore." Duncan yelled before grabbing his things and storming off.
Duncan's parents watched as he walked away knowing they couldn't do anything at the moment.
—————————————————————————
"Who does he think he is? If he wasn't so fucking good at his job I'd kick his sarcastic scrawny ass. He literally is changing the dates of my thing. This may take way longer cause he's an ass!" Courtney seethed into the phone.
"Can't you complain?" Heather asked on the other line.
"I could but I'll probably get a sucky lawyer. Ugh!" She cried out.
"I- oh hold on it's the venue. I'll call you later. Probably tomorrow. Bye." Heather said before hanging up in her face.
Courtney threw her phone on the bed and screamed in fury. She had nobody to talk to now. She couldn't talk to Bridgette, she doesn't want to ruin her trip.
She couldn't talk to her parents. She was alone.
Suddenly a loud knock on the door sounded. She jumped in fear before glaring at the door.
She went to the door preparing to tell whoever was on the other side of the door off before she saw Duncan.
And he looked pissed.
"What the hell?! Why the fuck are you screaming like a banshee." He snapped before walking in the apartment.
She closed the door and turned to him with a frown.
"Cause I can. I deserve to scream on the top of my lungs." she snipped
"That's all you've been doing since I got the hell home. And it's clearly not helping." He snapped.
"Well everyone I know is busy. So therefore I have no one to talk to. So shut the fuck up." She barked back before running her hands through her hair in a stressful manner.
Duncan sighed."look we've clearly have had a shitty day."
He sat on the couch and practically sunk on the couch.
Courtney took a deep breath and sighed. "Yeah clearly."
Duncan then patted the seat next to him.
"Just letting you know I'm not in the mood for sex right now." She said before sitting next to him.
"Me neither. I was just making you sit so you can talk to me, that way you can calm down." He said turning to her giving her his full attention.
Courtney raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? You wanna hear what's wrong?"
Duncan nodded and waited for her to speak.
Courtney rolled her eyes. "Okay well. I'm in the process of secretly divorcing Abraham. I've had enough. I'm waiting on the house I've been looking at to buy so I can move. But in order to do that I've been gradually putting money into my new bank account. That way he won't see the money gone when I buy it. My lawyer is a cynical piece of shit. My parents don't want me to divorce Abraham I'm so fed up with dealing with abe entirely."
Duncan just nodded. He could see how stressed she was. He didn't know what steps or what she was doing to deal with that asshole. But now he knew what she was doing. Was it weird he found her more attractive?
"Well it's a long ride but it'll be worth it in the end. However about your lawyer I could kick his ass." Duncan said grabbing her hand.
Courtney gave him a small smile. "I just can't wait for this to be over with."
Duncan then realized something. "Wait why are you hiding that you're divorcing him?"
Courtney rolled her eyes. "Because he's not gonna let up till he gets what he wants. He does it all the time. He'll probably just say something that I need or try to get in the way or even harass me till I change my mind."
Duncan scoffed. "What a bitch."
"Yeah I know. I'm going to wait till the house papers and all the lose ends are together before I serve him the papers." Courtney answered back.
"Don't worry. With your friends and I time will go by fast. And now you can rant to me anytime you want." Duncan offered trying to make her feel better.
"You really mean that?" She asked with a faint smile growing on her face.
Duncan felt his heart skip a beat. "Of course. Don't tell anyone but, I have a small heart that chooses when it wants to work."
Courtney smiled a bright dazzling smile at him that made his chest tighten. "I'll be sure to keep your secret bad boy."
Duncan smirked ignoring the weird feeling he felt.
"Well since we talked about my problem. Why are you so pissed?" Courtney asked standing up and stretching. Her sweater dress rose up a little passed her mid thigh. he couldn't help but look and lick his lips before looking back up at her face.
"I'm not as pissed anymore so it's okay." Duncan dismissed. He didn't want to get into it. But he was more scared she wasn't going to believe him if he told her the full story.
He felt his phone start to ring and knew it was his mom. His mom has been constantly texting and calling him since he left the country club.
He sighed annoyed and grabbed his phone. He declined her call and blocked her. Just as he was going to turn his phone off it was suddenly snatched out of his hands.
Duncan looked up in shock to see Courtney had it and wave it tauntingly. "If you want it you have to tell me."
Duncan rolled her eyes at her childlike antics. For a split second he felt like they switched bodies or something.
"Princess. Give me my phone." He stood up and reached for it only for Courtney to quickly move it out his grasp.
Her smile only got bigger as he sighed.
He stepped forward to help him get his phone but Courtney started running. He blinked before he registered her actions.
"Princess I swear to-"
Courtney closed the door and locked it behind her.
He quickly rattled the door handle before huffing out in annoyance.
"Courtney." He groaned.
"Ouuu your phone is unlocked. I wonder what you're hiding." She called out tauntingly.
He rolled his eyes. She wasn't going to find anything but work shit.
He reached in his pocket to see if he had anything to pick the lock.
—————————————————————————
"Ouuu your phone is unlocked. I wonder what you're hiding."Courtney taunted to get him riled up before looked for somewhere to hide his phone.
Of course she wasn't going to look through it, that would be overstepping boundaries, Even though she wondered what he had in there.
She settled with the drawer and hid it in her bras. It was the last drawer at the bottom and she knew he wouldn't go all the way down there. She barely stood up and turned to the door and saw the door swing open.
She gasped in shock. She wasn't expecting him to get through.
"You really thought I couldn't get in?" He asked before holding up the object he used to get in her door.
A paper clip.
Courtney looked surprised and confused. "A paper clip? That works?!"
"I used to be a criminal babe." He replied with a wolffish grin before putting the paper clip in his pocket.
Before Courtney could reply he ran up to her and pinned her to the bed. "Where's my phone babe?"
"Im not giving it to y-Duncan! St-stop!" She started stubbornly before bursting out with uncontrollable laughter.
Duncan beamed. "You gonna give me my phone?"
Courtney still stubbornly shook her head as she laughed.
He continued determined to win till she flipped over and sat up out of his reach.
Just as he was gonna lunge for her she lunged for him and pinned his hands over his head , now straddling him.
Usually if she was to do that he'd usually think sexual thoughts. But at the moment nothing came, instead he was thinking about how cute she was.
"Now that I won. we can sit her all day." Courtney said stubbornly with her eyes daring him to challenge her.
Duncan rolled his eyes before sighing. "Fine. Fine.fine. But only if."
Courtney furrowed her eyesbrows. "Only if what?"
Duncan flipped them over. Now he was on top and he smirked victoriously.
"If I can be on top." He finished. He didn't pin his hands like Courtney did.
Courtney rolled her eyes. "Fine I guess I'll allow it."
Duncan scoffed but a smile was on his face.
"So why are you upset?"
Duncan told Courtney what happened previously before hoping that she wouldn't ask any questions. But of course she would.
"Why do you not like your dad?"
She asked. Duncan sighed before rolling her back over wanting her to be on top again. He never liked telling this story.
Flashback
13 year old Duncan and his family were visiting their aunts house. He was excited to see his cousins, however he had one in specific he wanted to see.
His cousin Derrick. Duncan had his new skateboard he was excited to show him.
"Hi loves!" Duncan's aunt Wendy smiled out hugging all of the boys.
"Can I play with Derrick?" He asked his aunt.
"He's cleaning his room. He'll be done shortly. However when he gets done, I'll tell him to meet you in the back yard at the ramp? No boards in the house." His aunt said with a smile.
He nodded before asking his older brother if he wanted to come. But all he wanted to do was sit on the couch and play games with his older cousins, David and Jeremiah.
He shrugged. He didn't need those losers anyways. He walked outside and sat on the bench bored.
He hoped derrick would hurry up and finish his room. Duncan looked at his super smash brawl skateboard and smirked. His cousin was gonna be so jealous of his board.
He sat out there for about 5 minutes before he heard a noise in the the shed on the others side of the yard by the back door.
He frowned not knowing what the hell the sound was. He stood up and grabbed his board and walked over to the shed.
He walked in the shed and didn't see anything at first till he in the corner of his eye he seen his youngest cousin Alina. She was crying.
He followed the noise and saw his cousin nude and with weird stuff drooling from her mouth. He frowned worriedly and dropped his board and ran to her. He didn't know what to do. he just figured she could have one of the shirts he was wearing. Taking off the navy blue AC/DC t-shirt leaving him with a white t-shirt under, he put it on his niece.
"What happened to you?" He asked before realizing his barley 2 year old niece couldn't talk yet.
He realized the weird stuff that was around her mouth was on his hands. Duncan gagged in disgust and wiped his hands on his pants to get rid of the unknown sticky stuff on his hands.
He guessed she threw up or something but how did she get naked? Something wasn't right.
"come here. It's okay." He said to calm her tears. Alina walked over to Duncan and cried in his shoulder. He frowned, he needed to get his aunt and his mom.
Suddenly he heard a group of footsteps. Good, they could figure out what was wrong with her.
"Get away from her." His aunt screeched.
He moved back confused thinking there was something wrong.
He looked at his aunts face along with his family and they looked terrified.
"Oh my god Duncan what did you do to her!" Wendy screamed.
"I- I didn't do anything I found her like this." Duncan stuttered out bewildered and scared.
"Now is not the time to lie Duncan. What did you do to your cousin!" His father screamed.
His aunt ripped off his shirt off his niece and took her to the house.
"I just put a shirt on her that's it." Duncan exclaimed.
"Did you touch her inappropriately." His uncle in law asked. Duncan hasn't even seen him at all since Duncan and his family came over.
Duncan immediately got offended that they'd think he did anything like that. "No I never did that!"
Unfortunately for him. Nobody believed him.
His aunt banned Duncan to come to her property or family after they called the police
His brother saw him as a monster and didn't talk to him. and his mother, she didn't know what to say.
His dad however was furious. When they got home he was sent straight to his room while his parents talked.
A while ago he hid a baby monitor in their room so he could hear them for Christmas gifts or punishments.
He turned it on and heard the conversation that he'd never forget.
"That is not my son! He forced oral sex on Alina who knows what else he's done." His father angrily shouted out.
"Look we don't know if it was him for sure-"
"We walked in on him. What other proof do you need. He needs to be in jail."
"No. If he's acting out like this he needs therapy! He can't handle it. He's only 13!" His mom exclaimed.
"Do you want him to be a rapist?! Or worse. We need to stop it now. He can get both. It's not an option. He's going. If we ask him he's going to agree!"
Duncan turned off the monitor not able to take hearing anymore. How could his own dad think that he did that.
End if flashback
He was scared to look at Courtney's face but he continued.
"I got sent to juvie the next day. They found further evidence of sexual abuse and I got blamed. I was supposed to get 4 years. But my father pushed it to 5, so I'd get out at 18.
So I was there for 2 years. Getting bullied and being mistreated. I got beat on and was an outsider from the people in juvie and my own family. Only people that visited was my mom and eventually my brother. Most of my family disowned me. Until my aunts husband got caught with my niece. When they called the police, he confessed to doing everything. Including blaming me for what he did. Apparently he knocked over a tool out his tool box after he just finished doing what ever to Alina and he saw I was outside and walking over there. He was scared of being caught, so he ran inside the house through the back door and pretended to look for his own daughter. My cousin Derrick found me go in the shed and saw me and her and told my aunt. He took the opportunity to blame it on me."
When he didn't hear a reply he bit through his fear and looked up and saw Courtney covering her mouth with her hand.
"That's why I hate him. He put me through that. I was innocent and he didn't trust me. His own son. I've never did anything for him to think I'd do anything disgusting like that. He didn't even apologize til I was 16. A year after I got out. I hate him. And apparently my mom can't respect my decisions so I decisions, so I'm done with her too."
She didn't say anything the only thing she did was give him a hug.
"I'm so sorry Duncan you didn't deserve that at all."
He felt a rush of relief fill his mind. He was scared she'd hate him.
"It's okay Courtney. It's over now and I just blocked her. I don't think she'll ever understand." He said to her.
Courtney sat up and wiped her eyes. He felt his heart sink that made her cry? That's definitely not what he wanted.
He wiped her tears and told her he was fine now.
When her tears stopped she reached down off her bed and grabbed his phone.
"Unblock your mom. Mute her messages and calls but don't block her." Courtney said handing him his phone.
Duncan looked down at the phone before looking up at her.
"Alright."
One thing he'd always remember was the way her voice didn't change. If anything it was more of a caring tone. She didn't look at him with any negative emotions. She didn't judge him nor did she assume anything. He'll always remember that.

A/N: what do you think? I know this chapter was heavy but it goes up from here with Duncan's feelings. Now we're waiting on Courtney hehehe
