Chapter 3
Izuku sighed. He really didn't want to deal with Bakugō for the next three years. He took a look at his watch, realising that he was late. Izuku chose to use another path back home since it was a shortcut.
Just a couple of blocks away from his house, Izuku went through an old deserted tunnel. Suddenly, Izuku felt a presence, but before he could even move something attacked him.
A large amount of slime-like substance suddenly was all around him, restraining his arms and legs as it wrapped itself around his body.
W-What? Izuku thought in panic as the disgusting thing entered both his mouth and nose, preventing him from being able to breathe.
"Ah, you're going to make a good meat suit for me to use. I hope that you have a good quirk too." A voice as slimy as its owner made Izuku aware that he was captured by a villain.
A villain that was planning on using his body which likely meant his death. Izuku's eyes were becoming hazy as his body fought for every bit of oxygen that he could get. He could feel his body growing weaker, a burning sensation in his lungs as struggled for air. If Izuku didn't do anything, then he was going to die for sure.
Ah… Shit.
▬▬ι═══════
Now if Izuku was a quirkless boy or had a weak quirk then one might have been worried about the teen. Izuku's quirk, however, was quite strong. After the moment of panic had passed, Izuku – now much calmer – gathered the energy in his body and with a push, he sent a wave of energy erupting from every part of his body. The energy blasted the villain away and allowed Izuku to escape his clutches.
"You little bastard!" The villain bellowed as he gathered himself.
Izuku coughed as he finally was able to breathe again. It took him a few moments to fully regain his bearing and take in the villain that had attacked him.
The villain's body was made out of a dark green mud-like substance. He had big sharp teeth and big, round eyes. Parts of his body were on the ground and the walls obviously from when Izuku had blasted him away using his energy burst.
"I'll kill you, you little shit! Then I'll use your meat suit to escape that thing!" The villain growled, getting ready to attack Izuku again.
Now that he could breathe probably, Izuku wasn't really threatened by the villain. Calmly, he took out another wand – they kept on breaking so he had several on him – and aimed at the villain. Izuku already deduced that the villain's quirk would negate any simple physical attack, so he'd have to deal with him in another way.
"Anemoi: Sirocco!" He quickly enchanted his wand before he japed it in the direction of the charging villain. What followed was a gale of hot wind that tore through the street, leaving a trench in the asphalt in its way, and hitting the villain dead on. The strong wind literally blew the villain apart as his body was reduced to mere chunks on the street and nearby walls.
As soon as the villain was down, a manhole just behind where he stood opened and a large figure jumped from it. "Fear not!" the figure declared in a familiar voice. "For I am he-" and they stopped when they took in the state of the villain.
Izuku meanwhile had stars in his eyes as he goggled, seeing his favourite hero, All Might. All Might himself stood looking around confusedly, wearing a tight white shirt and a pair of jeans. Izuku was literally vibrating as he bounced in his place amazed by his luck to meet one of his idols. All Might was everyone's idol, well, except villains, and to see him in person was a dream come true to Izuku.
"Ohmygosh! It's All Might!" He exclaimed with a squeal.
That caught All Might's attention as he realised for the first time that he had an audience. He was surprised when he arrived to see the villain that he was chasing already defeated. He wondered where was the hero who did it and why did they leave him and left. The damage to the street was also obviously from the same quirk that took out the villain. Now he had a possible witness to ask him what he wanted to know.
"Young man! Can you please tell me what happened here? Which Pro Hero defeated the villain and why didn't they stick around?" All Might asked the teen.
The teen in question looked about 5'9" tall. He had a toned body with his muscles visible under his school uniform. He had dark green hair and green eyes with four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek.
"Ah, All Might talked to me!"
And he was clearly a fanboy.
All Might sighed and extended his hand, plastering his trademark smile on his face. "Well, let me give you my autograph and then can you answer my question?" He was used to this reaction at this point.
The teen particularly teleported in front of him with a notebook out of nowhere. All Might took the notebook and started skimming through it after noticing the first page. There was a detailed analysis of several heroes and even villains; their fighting style, their quirks, their weaknesses… etc. It was really impressive. He found an empty page and quickly scrawled his autograph.
All Might handed the notebook back to him, and Izuku almost shouted from happiness at seeing All Might's autograph.
"Ah, thank you, All Might!" He stopped remembering something or rather someone. "Would you mind giving me another one? For my friend, Nejire."
"Ah, asking for a friend? That's nice of you young man!" All might said as he took the notebook back before adding another autograph on another piece of paper. Izuku thought that he could later take it out, enchant it to protect it and give it to Nejire.
"Now, will you be kind and tell me who was the hero that defeated the villain here and why did they leave him alone without properly securing him?" He was going to have a few words with whoever was careless enough to leave without detaining the villain, risking his escape.
Izuku chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "Ah, that's because there was no hero. The villain attacked me and there was no one around, so I used my quirk to defeat him."
All Might paled, realising that he had put a civilian's life in danger because of his carelessness as the villain escaped earlier because of his own mistake. He bowed. "I'm sorry, you man! I'm new to the area so the villain managed to escape me! I'll never allow this mistake to happen a second time!"
Izuku waved his arms. "It's okay, All Might. I took care of it easily with my quirk. No harm was done."
"What is your quirk, young man? To be able to defeat the villain before I arrived and to cause this much destruction…" All Might said as he began picking up the remains of the villain so he'd not escape and putting them into a bottle.
Izuku was only too happy to explain his quirk to one of his most favourite heroes. He knew he could trust All Might, and his 'secret' would be out soon anyway. "It's actually not my quirk directly that caused this damage. My quirk is called 'Enchantment'. I can put the energy that my body produces into anything or anyone to enchant a certain effect that I desire. Kind of like magic if you want to think of it like that."
"How did you exactly beat this villain?"
"Well, I simply used this wand. A focus to make my enchantment faster and better controlled. I enchanted it to basically be able to produce very powerful winds…" Izuku then gained a sheepish look. "I kind of went overboard and destroyed part of the street while taking out the villain."
All Might's eyebrows reached his hairline at that. Izuku's quirk was quite amazing. If it worked as he said, then it was like having several quirks at the same time! "That's an incredible quirk, young man! It's quite powerful and versatile and can be useful in both support and frontlines!" Maybe he could be my successor? His quirk with One For All would make him a hero like no one before him. He'd be able to take on that bastard easily! All Might thought as he decided to add the young man in front of him to the list of possible successors. "Tell me, young man. What's your name?"
"Izuku! Midoriya Izuku!"
"Young Midoriya, do you want to be a hero?"
Izuku stood straighter, his eyes narrowing in determination. "Of course! I want to be a hero like you, All Might. I want to help people and use my quirk for good. I've already applied for UA Hero Course and I'll be taking the Entrance Exam in about ten months!"
This is fortunate. All Might thought. He himself was going to become a teacher at UA at the same time so that'd give him the opportunity to see the boy in action and truly test his character. Not to mention all the other kids there that could also be a great successor for him and One For All. "That's an admirable goal, Young Midoriya. I'll look forward to seeing what you'll do at UA. I'm sure you'll make it if your ability to take down a villain here is an indication of your strength."
Izuku felt his chest swell up in pride at hearing the confidence that his idol had in him. "Thank you, All Might! I won't let you down." His expression turned sheepish as he took in the sight of the damage that he caused. "But what about the damage here? Will I have to pay for it?"
All Might simply laughed and waved his concerns off. "Worry not, young Midoriya. The villain escaped because of my own neglect and so I'll take responsibility for the damage that you've caused protecting yourself because of my mistake!" He said as he finished putting the last of the villain in the bottle and sealed it off. He was really fortunate that the kid could take care of himself, or else he'd be dealing with possible blood on his hands.
"Here let me," Izuku said as he put his hand on the bottle. His wand has broken after that powerful enchantment from earlier. "Fū," He said as he pushed his energy into the bottle. A green kanji-like rune appeared on the bottle. "This way, the bottle won't be opened easily and the villain won't be able to escape until you reach the nearest police station. The seal will disappear after about an hour."
"My thanks, young Midoriya!" All Might felt himself nearing his limit and decided to end it here. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go and hand this villain in. Don't worry about the damage. I'll take care of it. Goodbye!" All Might said before he bent his knees and jumped rocketing off the ground and leaving a large crack in it.
Izuku simply smiled as he hugged the notebook. This was one of the best days of his life. He couldn't wait to give Nejire her autograph and tell her about it!
▬▬ι═══════
"Thank you, Izu-Kun!" Nejire exclaimed as she glomped him. Izuku's cheeks warmed as he could feel Nejire's rather impressive assets pressed against his chest. He had just given her All Might's autograph after making sure to enchant the paper enough that it'd never tear or get ruined.
As he got older, Izuku began to gain interest in girls and Nejire was one hell of a girl. Her lovely and bubbly personality aside, her body had begun developing in the right places as she grew up to be a gorgeous teenager from the very cute little girl that she was. Izuku had caught himself more than once admiring her curves and her long beautiful hair.
Of course, he made sure that she didn't notice him. Or at least he thought he did. Nejire was his best friend and he doubted that she'd be interested in someone like him. Not to mention that she was two years his senior. He doubted that she'd be interested in someone younger than her and who she saw as a best friend for years.
"I'd rather that he didn't have to get attacked by a villain for him to meet All Might." His mother said as she was preparing their dinner. She had fussed over him for an hour after he had explained what happened.
Izuku shrugged. "I'm going to experience situations like that when I become a hero anyway, so maybe I should know how to deal with it this early instead of freezing up when I'm truly in danger?"
"Izuku! Don't say it like that! You almost died!"
"I dealt with, Mom. The villain wasn't really that strong. I'm going to deal with similar situations a lot in the future, maybe even more dangerous."
His mother shook her head, tears in her eyes. "That doesn't mean that I won't be worried about you each time, Izuku!"
Izuku gave his mother his best smile to reassure her. "Don't worry, Mom. No matter what villain I am facing, I'll return here safe. I promise."
"Oh, Izuku-baby!" Inko exclaimed as she rushed to hug him. And Nejire, since she was still hugging Izuku.
"It's good to be confident, Izuku. However, don't let it get to your head or it could cost you. Arrogance is your enemy." Nana said as she watched the family hug from her seat (read throne) on the table. Made of an old coffee cup, some pencils, a bit of sponge, paper and other stuff.
Izuku nodded as he hugged both Nejire and his mother. "Of course, Nana."
After a few minutes, his mother and Nejire released him. His mother went back to continue working on dinner while he and Nejire sat at the table.
"So, how was it? Suffocating? How did it feel? Were you scared? Was the villain's quirk disgusting?" Nejire rambled her questions non-stop.
Izuku really admired how blunt and oblivious Nejire was. If anyone heard her now, they'd think that she didn't really care about Izuku. That's because they didn't see how worried she was and how much she fussed over him just a few minutes earlier, hugging the life out of him. Of course, now that she was sure that he was safe. Her curiosity took over.
Izuku smiled as he began describing what had happened to him and what suffocation felt like. Obviously, Nejire had paled at that though her curiosity was too much for her to ask him to stop.
"Itadakimasu!" They chorused as they dug into their food. They were having Katsudon. Izuku's favourite food.
"Ah, Nejire. I found us a new place to use for training."
"Eh, why?"
"I found a certain beach near here that is filled with junk. If we clear it out, it could both be of help to the city and use it as training to build our strength further."
Nejire clapped her hands excitedly. "That's a great idea, Izu-kun. People will surely appreciate cleaning the beach! Maybe we can enjoy it together after we finish!"
Izuku blushed as an image of Nejire in a swimsuit entered his mind before he shook his head, forcing it away. "Y-Yeah… Also, the junk isn't owned by anyone anymore, so I can use it for my experiments for the staff."
Nejire tilted her head cutely. "Staff?"
"Yeah. Using a wand isn't that practical since they break easily and don't really offer an alternative choice in case of close combat. I was thinking of using the junk in there to try and find out the best material for the staff and try to design some prototypes. I won't be able to build it since it's not something that I'm good at, but it'd be useful to come up with designs and if possible find out the best materials to use for it."
"Huh, that makes sense. Free stuff is really cool! It's good that support items are covered by U.A. We won't have to worry about the costs as long as we're students of the Hero Course."
Izuku nodded. "Yeah, that's really a great advantage there. I'm sure that many quirks need expensive support items that the students wouldn't be able to afford. It's best to take full advantage of that to bring out the full potential of one's quirk in both support items and hero costumes. It'd be idiotic to not really on them and instead try to make it yourself."
Nana added her two cents. "That's right. Using a support item because your father built it for you or wearing a hero costume that your mother made for you is nice and all, but it could cost you your life or someone else's in the right circumstances. It's better to prepare the very best rather than rely on sentimental yet fragile things."
They continued chatting for a while before they finally finished their dinner after Izuku ate his eighth bowl of Katsudon.
"That was great, Auntie! Delicious as always!"
Izuku nodded in agreement. Katsudon was his favourite food, but Katsudon made by his own mother was the best of the best. No one could compare. "Yup, thanks, Mom!"
Inko smiled at them happily. "Of course! I'll always cook you the food you love!"
"Um..." Nejire interjected, unusually bashful as she played with her fingers. "Auntie… " She said shyly. Izuku noticed that for some reason she was looking at him from the corner of her eyes. "Will you teach me how to make Katsudon as good as yours?"
His mother squealed and jumped to hug Nejire, surprising Izuku. "Of course, Nejire-chan! Oh, Izuku! You're so lucky!" She said making Nejire blush bright red, but her face had her usual bright smile.
Izuku didn't really understand why he was lucky because Nejire wanted to learn how to cook Katsudon so he only shrugged. Girls are weird.
▬▬ι═══════
"Ah~" Ryuko stretched as she walked leisurely through the streets of Musutafu. "It's nice to relax once in a while." She had just come back from a girl's night out with both Midnight and Mt. Lady. She had known Yu for a few years now, having met while Yu was still a sidekick, while she met Midnight as a Pro Hero. She had struck a friendship with both of them and liked to spend some time with them every now and then whenever she felt she needed to relax and have some fun, especially with how both Yu and Nemuri bickered with each other. Though maybe there was something more to her friendship with Yu. Only time would tell.
Ryuko appreciated the anonymity that her casual clothes offered. It was astonishing how people were unable to recognise her simply by abandoning the claw that she put on her head and wearing casual clothes, unlike the elegant expensive dress of her hero suit. It's not like she hated interacting with others, but she was rather tired of it and needed time for her away from the fans every now and then. It was an aspect of the job that she didn't like. She became a hero to help people, not to get fans. It didn't help that she didn't feel that she deserved the adoration of fans because she always felt that she could be doing better.
Suddenly, a small explosion rocked the place. Ryuko looked out frantically only to notice a plume of smoke rising from the nearby beach. She didn't waste any time running there. The distance was short so she didn't transform into her dragon form, not to mention she didn't want to alert the villains before she knew what she was dealing with.
Upon arriving, she noticed that the smoke was rising from an area of the beach that was covered in piles and piles of trash and junk. It seemed that people had thrown away anything they didn't need any more; she could see an old bridge, a broker bicycle and even an eighteen-wheeler! She made her way past the heaps of trash to check out just what happened here and the first thing she saw.
"Nejire-chan!" Ryuko yelled in shock as she saw her favourite intern in a clearing between the mountains of trash wearing a blue tank top and black compression shorts.
The girl in question widened her eyes in surprise before she glomped Ryuko. "Ryukyu! What are you doing here? You're not on a patrol, are you? You don't seem to be wearing your hero costume! Oh, yeah. How are you?"
Ryuko simply chuckled as she briefly returned the hug. "I'm fine, Nejire. No, I'm not on patrol and simply relaxing for the night. What are you doing here though?"
Before the girl could reply, a series of coughs caught her attention as a teen emerged from the smoke.
The teen in question was quite tall, standing easily 10 centimetres above her. He had fluffy long dark green hair that was pulled into a messy ponytail with two short bangs framing his face. Large green eyes that gave him an innocent look, especially with the little baby fat that he had left on his face. The teen was quite handsome and Ryuko could appreciate the lean muscled body of his that was visible from his shredded and signed tank top. The teen obviously trained his body and the results were showing themselves clearly with the muscles on his arms, chest, and the beginning of a six-pack.
Besides him was a small person, not bigger than some of the figurines that Ryuko saw, floating in the air.
Unsure of who he was or what he was doing here, Ryuko tensed as she prepared for the possibility of a fight only to be surprised as Nejire left her side and jumped on the boy.
"Izu-Kun! You're alright?" Asked Nejire before she began fussing over the boy searching for anything wrong with him.
The teen's cheek coloured slightly pink but he didn't appear much affected by it as if it was a normal occurrence.
Ryuko coughed to grab their attention. Both of them separated immediately with the boy looking confused, obviously not recognising her, while Nejire was a bit sheepish.
"Ah, Ryuko, this is Izu-kun." She mentioned the boy before she gestured towards her. "Izu-kun, this is Ryuko."
The teen's eyes widened in surprise before an excited gleam appeared in his eyes as he teleported in front of her, taking her by surprise as a notebook appeared out of nowhere.
"You're Ryuko? The Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu! Nejire talks about you a lot but I never imagined that I'll meet you in person! I'm really a big fan. Your quirk is really amazing and looks so cool. Dragon quirks are very rare and people don't appreciate them enough! I didn't recognise you at first in your casual clothes but you look as beautiful as ever even in them!"
Ryuko blushed slightly at the praise. Not many people complimented her quirk or how it looked. Many people actually feared her quirk especially when she was younger back before she became a famous Pro Hero. Now that she was a hero, compliments were a dime and a dozen, but they never felt genuine to her that people would act like this toward her now that she was a hero. Compliments for her appearance were always appreciated of course, but Ryuko met them with wariness normally as they often were accompanied by ulterior motives. The teen in front of her, however, didn't appear to be hiding anything behind his comment and was clearly sincere.
Then, it finally dawned on Ryuko who the boy was.
"Thanks. You're Izuku Midoriya, aren't you?" The boy's eyes widened in surprise as his jaw dropped, apparently shocked that she would know of him. "Nejire-chan doesn't shut up about you at all at the agency."
The boy blushed a little before his mouth gave a playful smirk as he turned towards Nejire. "Oh, I didn't know that you talk about me a lot, Nejire-chan~"
Ryuko watched in amusement as Nejire's face lit up like a Christmas tree. The girl hurried to deny her accusations.
"That's not true! I-I don't talk about you at all!" The girl denied vehemently earning a mock hurt expression from Izuku.
"So, you don't talk about me at all? Am I not your best friend, Nejire? To think our friendship meant so little for you…" Izuku's shoulder slumped in obvious depression as the small floating person started patting his shoulder.
Nejire grew even more flustered as she launched herself at Izuku, hugging him closely. "N-No! I didn't mean it like that, Izu-kun! You're my best friend! Ever! Ask, Ryuko! I talk about you a lot! Like: Izu-kun is amazing or Izu-kun is really smart and stuff, like that!"
Ryuko had to force herself not to laugh as she tilted her head with a blank look on her face. "Really? I don't remember hearing such things."
"W-What? But you just-"
Ryuko couldn't help herself as she started laughing, quickly joined by Izuku and the small floating person – she really needed to ask about it! – making Nejire pout cutely at them.
Ryuko didn't get much chance to tease anyone, let alone an intern at her agency as she preferred to act professionally, so she appreciated this opportunity. Nejire was a girl who caught her eyes two years ago at the UA Sports Festival. She had approached her with an internship offer which Nejire accepted and the rest was history. Nejire had become an intern at her agency ever since, always choosing to come back to work with her rather than go to better heroes, something that Ryuko treasured. She had grown close to the hero trainee and was even going to offer her to be her future sidekick officially after she graduated from UA.
Nejire was someone that Ryuko deeply cherished and recognised her potential as a future Pro Hero. Despite being an airhead, she was still a competent individual when it counted and had a bubbly lovely personality that made it impossible to hate her.
While Nejire was stretching Izuku's cheek, the small floating person approached Ryuko. "Hey, I'm Nana. You can say that I'm Izuku's helper and friend." She said as she extended her hand for Ryuko to shake.
Ryuko shook her hand with two of her fingers. "I'm Ryuko Tatsuma. Nice to meet you." She paused for a moment before she added. "Can I ask what exactly your quirk is? You can fly but you're also… so small." She added softly, fearing to offend Nana.
Nana simply laughed. "Ah, I'm not really a person." Seeing Ryuko's confused face, she explained. "I'm a figurine that Izuku had given 'life' to with his quirk."
Ryuko's eyes widened in surprise at that. He made a figurine alive with his quirk? Just what the hell is this his quirk? "So, his quirk can give life to inanimate objects?"
Nana simply smirked. "Well, that can be part of it, I guess. If you want more, you need Izuku to explain it to you."
Izuku interrupted them after mollifying Nejire somehow. "Not that I mind, but Ryukyu why are you here?"
Ryuko finally remembered why she arrived at this beach in the first place. "I saw the explosion and I came to investigate but I was surprised to see Nejire here. What was that explosion? I thought it was a villain attack, but it obviously wasn't."
Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Ah, that was me… I was experimenting with my quirk but it went wrong. Another failure."
"You guys are experimenting on your quirks alone without any supervision? Don't you realise how dangerous that is?"
Nana put a hand on her waist as she smirked smugly at Izuku. "See? What did I tell you?"
Izuku sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "It's not like we have any choice. We don't have anyone to supervise us while we train."
"Why are you doing it here anyway?" Asked Ryuko. "I can't imagine this mountain of trash to be an ideal place for training."
"Actually it's perfect," Nejire interjected. "We use moving the junk around here to help clean the beach while giving us physical training at the same time. The junk is also free to use for Izuku's quirk to experiment on."
Ryuko smiled softly at the pair. Not many people paid much thought of doing something like this. Everyone just ignored the beach, including her she guessed, and just assumed that it would stay that way. These two were cleaning the beach, and providing a valuable service to the community while also using it or their training. It certainly showed their character.
"If you promise not to experiment on your quirks when I'm not around and only work on moving the trash, then I'd not mind overseeing your quirk training whenever I have free time. I can't allow you as a Pro Hero to endanger yourself and others in your quirk training and it's my duty to help you." Ryuko didn't exactly know why she suggested it, but she supposed that she wanted to help these two.
Both of them goggled at her, her offer for them being unexpected. While Izuku preferred to work more on his quirk, he understood Ryuko's and Nana's argument and he actually agreed with it. The explosion from earlier only reinforced their point. But he was astounded that a Pro Hero like Ryukyu offered to supervise their training. Ryukyu was a heroine that he admired and maybe had a slight crush on. How could he not? She was an amazing heroine, humble, gentle, and professional. Someone that many looked up to. It didn't help that she was incredibly beautiful. She, Mt. Lady, and Mirko both were his biggest crushes.
"We'd love to, Ryukyu/Ryuko!" Both of them exclaimed at the same time.
Ryuko smiled, feeling that her decision was the right one. "Great. Now, if you'll explain to me your quirk. Nana here said that your quirk made her alive, and somehow you caused an explosion… I'd like to know what I'm dealing with."
Izuku was only too happy to explain his quirk to her.
▬▬ι═══════
"Help, please!"
Izuku was on his way home from another day at school when he heard a cry for help. He didn't even think before he moved toward the direction that the voice came from. There was a side street a few meters away was a blue-haired, dark-skinned woman. She looked around thirty years old and had a pair of small black bir – angel wings – on her back.
The reason for her screams was a tall muscular guy. His body from the chest and upwards was that of a shark with blue scales. He was growling at the woman, baring row after row of large sharp teeth. "Shut up bitch! I'm going to kill you for what you've done. How dare you break up with me?"
The woman whimpered before she screamed again. "Please, someone save me!"
Izuku looked around but he couldn't spot any hero nearby. In fact, he could spot anyone around. He should be running away to search for a Pro Hero or try to call the police and hope that either option would be fast enough to save the woman, but Izuku couldn't just let this woman be attacked by the Shark villain and do nothing. Not when he wasn't sure a Pro Hero could make it in time.
"Leave her alone!" He found himself saying, stepping forward without even realising it.
Izuku saw hope rising in the woman's eyes upon hearing his voice, only to die down when she saw that she would be rescuer was just a kid. Izuku rolled his eyes at that.
The shark villain stiffened before he also turned around. His frozen face broke into a wide mocking grin as he saw the one who interfered. "Oi, brat. Don't you put your nose in what doesn't concern you!" He growled out, brandishing his long sharp teeth – teeth that could easily tear a man limb from limb.
"I said, leave her alone." He repeated, his voice louder and firmer than before.
The villain sighed, closing his eyes. "It seems that you don't want to listen, brat." He opened his eyes, blood red from pure rage. "I'll kill you first then!" With that, the shark villain lunged towards Izuku, his jaw open, teeth ready to tear Izuku apart.
Thanks to his training over the years and already dealing with two villains in the past – the evil Bakugō wannabe and the sludge villain – Izuku was more than ready. He leapt to the side, rolling a few times before he came to a stop. The villain sailed past him as Izuku avoided the attack without any injury.
"Damn it, kid! If you don't stay still, you'll only make it worse for yourself!" The villain was getting angrier, his eyes were blood red, glaring at Izuku with hatred.
"No wonder you escaped your fish tank. You couldn't intimidate a goldfish with that glare."
The villain snarled; a vein popped on his fishy forehead as he lunged at Izuku again. He avoided the attack again as the villain landed near the woman, but thankfully, he didn't seem to notice her as all of his attention was on Izuku.
I need to get him away from that woman so she doesn't get involved in the fight. It'd be pointless if she was injured or worse as collateral of our fight. He thought, remembering the notes from his observations of various heroes. So, he ran in another direction.
"Are you running away you coward? As if I'll let you!" The villain growled as he ran after Izuku.
Riling up the villains is important when dealing with normal street-level villains. Most of the time, they aren't the brightest of people and are easily enraged. Rage makes them rasher and more prone to mistakes. Thought Izuku as he led the shark villain away. "Running away? From a mere fish? If I wasn't allergic to disgusting meat, I'd eat you for dinner!" Izuku said, mentally apologising for all the fish out there.
The Shark villain bellowed incomprehensibly as he ran even faster after Izuku.
Once he was far away enough, he turned to face the villain. The criminal was glaring at him, spittle flying from his mouth, his sharp teeth gnashing against each other. He prepared to leap at Izuku, but Izuku was faster. Raising a hand in front of him, brilliant emerald energy gathered before he shot an energy beam at the Shark villain. The villain was surprised by the sudden attack that it hit him directly in the chest, sending him flying a few meters backwards with a yell of pain.
Emerald energy surrounded Izuku's body to enhance his speed, strength, and durability. It wasn't as effective as using a spell specifically for that, but for the level of the villain he was dealing with? It was more than enough. Rocketing towards the villain, who was just standing back up, Izuku sent an uppercut to the villain's jaw, sending him floating in the air for a moment before he followed with a sidekick. As soon as Izuku's kick connected to the side of the villain's chest, emerald energy burst forward, enhancing the kick and sending the villain flying into a wall.
"Well, that takes care of it," said Izuku, turning his back on the villain only to double-take when he saw the same woman from before. Are you kidding me? I'm trying to save her and she follows us to film the fight? Is she insane? Before he could give her a piece or two of his mind, the villain groaned, catching his attention.
"That hurt you fucking brat…"
Izuku turned, surprised to see the villain standing up. His wife-beater shirt was in tatters, exposing his upper body completely. There were some bruises and scratches where Izuku had hit him, but that was about it. This guy must have insane durability Thought Izuku, trying to figure out a way to defeat the villain. While he could increase the power behind his attacks, he didn't want to deal more damage to the area around him or endanger the stupid woman he was trying to save. His body from the chest up, except for his hands, is that of a shark. He has gills from what I see. I could use that to make him lose consciousness. Izuku could see the gills located between the villain's shoulder and neck. "Although, how the hell is he breathing out of water? No matter." He muttered to himself. Chalking it up to the ridiculousness of Quirks, Izuku decided on his course of action.
He had just the spell for it. Though he never actually tested it on anybody as he didn't want to use it on a friend or an animal, a villain was a good first test for it. Taking out a wand, emerald energy enveloping him again, Izuku waited for the shark to attack. He wasn't disappointed as the villain lunged at him, waiting until the last moment, Izuku jumped over the villain to dodge the attack while making sure to strike him lightly with his wand. An emerald sheen could be seen around the villain's body. Not finished, Izuku poured more energy into his wand, striking the ground as he landed. A big circle made of green energy formed, and Izuku stood behind it.
"You missed me, you big fat shrimp!"
"I'm a shark!" the villain growled, turning to attack Izuku again.
Izuku waited patiently. As soon as the villain crossed the circle, Izuku used the spell. "Lösche Luft!" He yelled.
The villain suddenly stopped, eyes bulging as his hands instinctively went to his gills, trying to claw at some invisible thing around them. He opened his mouth wide, trying to breathe, his face paling as his lips turned blue. The villain struggled for a few more steps before he fell down, unconscious.
With a sigh, Izuku released the spell. That… that wasn't pretty. He thought with a shudder.
A small tremor shook the street, making him jump in surprise. He turned around to see the shrunken form of the Mineyama Hero: Mt. Lady.
She was in her hero costume. A purple and pale tan-coloured skintight bodysuit, which is accented with orange stripes. The suit appears to have a pair of purple gloves with orange accents on the edge of the cuff. The design is similar to her "boots" which are cut off at the thigh in a deep V-shape. The suit also has three peculiar orange diamond-shaped dots on the purple top that are located under her chest, and she also wears a purple domino mask with horn-like protrusions on the sides. Her long, voluminous, creamy blonde hair which reached her waist, with two shorter strands curled to frame her face which were parted slightly to her left, was free and she didn't have it covered with anything.
"Thank god you were here. I'm sorry I wasn't able to arrive on time," were Mt. Lady's first words.
"Huh?" obviously was Izuku's eloquent reply.
"I was patrolling the area in my giant form like way over there." She gestured vaguely in one direction. "That was when I saw the villain attacking the woman over there. I tried to make my way over here as fast as I could, but I had trouble moving freely in my giant form, fearing that I might step on something or crush someone, not to mention there wasn't a street leading straight here, ya know." She moved towards the downed villain and from god knows where she suddenly had a rope in her hand and used it to tie up the villain.
"Look… I'm going to take credit for this one when the cops arrive."
"What?" Then he remembered her debut. Mt. Lady has come out of nowhere and took credit for defeating the villain the morning without shame.
Whether he said it out loud, or his thoughts were projected on his face he didn't know as Mt. Lady sheepishly scratched the back of her head.
"I-It's not like that, honest," she said, flailing her arms in front of her, "It's just you're not a hero and you look like you're about to enter high school. Using Quirks is against the law without a license even if you had a good reason, and at your age, they would consider you old enough to understand it, ya know. Best case scenario is that they give you a fine and put it on your record. That would hurt your chances with the bigger high schools! I'm sorry, I'm really not trying to steal your kill and all that."
Izuku's eyes widened. He had forgotten about the Quirk Usage Law. She was right, if he was caught here and it was put on his record, he could kiss going to U.A. High goodbye whether it's the Hero course or any other course. Vigilantism was heavily frowned upon and Izuku wasn't in any danger before he stupidly tried to intervene. Come to think of it, it's basically what All Might did with the sludge villain.
"Sorry, I thought badly of you because of what happened this morning. You're nothing like I thought you'd be."
Mt. Lady's face fell slightly before her mouth curved into a sad smile, "Well, yeah. I get what ya mean. It's just, and I'm not bragging but I know that I'm beautiful. I'm a beautiful blonde. Since I… I was a sidekick I've been giving people what they want and expect ya know. Today, I honestly didn't see the wood guy, honest. I saw the villain and got into it and went to attack. When I realised what happened I just went with the flow." She scratched the back of her head with a sheepish smile on her face. "I… Ya know… heroes need fame and whatnot to earn money, and I really need money. I… some people are depending on me and ma career so I'm taking advantage of the system, I guess."
Izuku understood that part. The system of ranking heroes and paying them in accordance to their performance, fame and other factors wasn't flawless and while there were heroes who clearly cared only for fame, some were forced to use it if they wanted to stay in the game and earn their money.
"A mentor of mine once said that it's what it is. That I'm beautiful and my sex appeal isn't different from my Quirk. I was born with it and worked on it, so if it helps then it's not wrong to use it to make things easier."
"A mentor?"
Mt. Lady wrinkled her nose, "Yeah, Midnight… What hero school are you aiming for?" Asked the now curious Mt. Lady.
"… U.A. High…"
She goggled, "U.A.! Wow. That's amazing. I myself failed to get in. Good luck, I'm sure-"
Mt. Lady was interrupted by a new voice, "Excuse me. You're the hero, Mt. Lady, aren't you? Did you take down this villain?"
Both Izuku and Mt. Lady looked to see a police officer standing near the villain, with a police car behind him.
Mt. Lady grimaced but nodded. "Yes, that's right." She struck a pose with a wide smile, but Izuku could see the conflict in her eyes.
Izuku watched Mt. Lady with interest, her previous words playing through his mind.
"Ya know, heroes need fame and whatnot to earn money, and I really need money. I… some people are depending on me and ma career so I'm taking advantage of the system, I guess."
He figured that she must be strapped for money, being a new Pro Hero. There is also the fact that her quirk would cause a lot of damage. In fact, I remember reports about how much damage she caused in the year she worked as a sidekick.
Izuku waited until Mt. Lady finished her report before handing the villain to the police officer who then escorted the villain away.
"Mt. Lady," said Izuku, getting her attention. "You can't fight well with your quirk without causing damages, can you?"
"Agh!" Mt. Lady reeled back like she was physically struck. She slumped her shoulders, looking really depressed. "Yeah… No matter how much I try, I always end up damaging things around me when I fight, and It's not like I can take on a lot of villains without using my quirk."
"Can't you control your size or what your quirk is affecting? Like only your arm or something?"
Mt. Lady shook her head. "Sadly, no. I tried for years to control my size but no matter how much I try, I'll continue growing until I reach my current size. The only thing that changed was my limit, but never could I stop myself at a specific height while growing in size." She sighed, pausing for a moment. "I also tried only growing my arm or something, but it never worked no matter how much I trained. " She shrugged. "Some quirks are just exactly what you get, and you can't change that no matter what."
"Why did you become a hero?" Izuku asked. "With your incredible beauty, you'd be a top model and earn a lot of money easily."
Mt. Lady blushed slightly. She was no stranger to compliments, but at least the boy in front of her sounded honest without leering at her or being a pervert. "Have you seen any model that wasn't a Pro Hero or at least a side-kick?"
Izuku thought about it for a moment and shook his head. How has he not noticed this before?
"Exactly. With the rise of Pro Heroes and with how many there are, no modeling agency cares for civilian models anymore," she said with a sigh. "Besides, I became a hero first and foremost to help and save people, not just for the sake of money, so being a model wasn't an option even back then."
Izuku smiled, he could see that Mt. Lady was truthful. Well, I'm already working on developing items with various effects to prepare for my support item… Maybe…
"Mt. Lady," said Izuku. "I can't promise you for sure nor can I give you a timeframe for now, but I think I have a solution for some of your problems."
"What do you mean?"
"My quirk allows me to enchant things with various effects. You can think of them as spells like in old fantasy novels," he then proceeded to explain his quirk better. "I'm working on making items with specific permanent enchantments or at least long-term ones on them. And ones that work not only for me. I'm mainly working to develop my quirk and create my own support item that maximizes my usage of it."
Mt. Lady perked up, a small smile on her lovely lips. "I see, and you're saying?"
"I can't promise you anything, but I think I can make some items to help you fight villains without needing your quirks. Something to enhance your physical stats like strength, endurance, speed… etc so you'd be able to fight villains without your quirk and only using your quirk when it's absolutely necessary."
Mt. Lady couldn't believe her ears. "You'd do that for me?"
Izuku nodded. "Yes. Not only do you want to help and save people, genuinely, but you have people who are depending on you, right?" Mt. Lady nodded, remembering her slip-up. "Then I'd love to help someone like you, Mt. Lady. Don't worry about money. I wouldn't take any, and it'd be part of my training, anyway."
"OHMYGOSH!" Mt. Lady exclaimed, bouncing on Izuku and hugging him, burying his head in her heavenly chest. "Thank you! Thank you!"
Izuku blushed intensely, enjoying the feel of her soft pillows secretly. "Y-You're welcome!" He managed to stammer out.

It has been several months since Ryuko started overseeing Izuku's and Nejire's training. She had grown closer to the two of them in the last few months. Nejire was Nejire and she already had a good relationship with her before and she adored the bubbly teen a lot. Nejire had become an important person in her life beyond merely being an intern. It's why she wanted her to be her sidekick.
Izuku on the other hand was an amazing person as she discovered. He was nice, gentle, humble, and very kind despite having such a powerful quirk. He was someone who was born to be a hero. He was also smart and his analysis abilities astounded her when she first read through one of his notebooks. She had already used his notes on her to help improve her work as a hero.
She and Izuku had grown closer. Not as close as it was with Nejire of course but it was closer than she thought she'd have with the teen. She could easily call him a friend. They had bonded over their love for fantasy novels too as they'd discuss it over the phone or in-person and exchange novel recommendations.
Most of the time watching them consisted of her sitting around, just watching what they were doing and offering a bit of advice here and there while they experimented on their quirks or Izuku worked on finding the best material and design to use for his staff or other projects.
Time passed quickly as Ryuko enjoyed her time with them and now only a week remained before Izuku needed to take the Entrance Exam for the UA Hero Course.
Currently, she was reading through one of his notebooks while she watched a shirtless Izuku discretely carrying a fridge out of the beach. It was the last piece of junk that existed on the beach. Ryuko was pleased with the results of both their works as the true beauty of the beach showed itself after it was cleaned.
Izuku's body has become more tuned with the months of training, his six-pack and ripped arms were obvious and not just merely beginning as they were before. The baby fat on his face and body was no longer present, leading to a very handsome young man who looked older than his true age. She and Nejire had managed to convince him to let his hair grow longer when he wanted to cut it out and the results were more than pleasing to the eye.
Ryuko's cheek coloured slightly red as she watched a bead of sweat travel down Izuku's forehead, to his chest and down to his abs. She'd never admit that she appreciated the free eye candy that was the sight of a shirtless Izuku. She could understand why her favourite intern had fallen for the boy. Aside from his personality, Izuku was a handsome young man who was bound to grow up to be a lady killer. Though despite being quite the charmer when he wanted, he was still dense as he never noticed that Nejire thought of him as more than a friend. She might have been eight years older than him, but she could admit that she found him attractive. It didn't help that he was much taller than her and looked older than his age of nearly sixteen years old.
Ryuko didn't have a crush on the boy and neither did she have any special feelings for him; she merely acknowledged his good looks and great personality. The teen simply ticked off the right boxes for her, but Ryuko understood that she was quite older than him, and didn't entertain the thoughts of anything more than a friendship.
Even if she were to at any point, she'd crush it down. Izuku was Nejire's crush and she'd never get in the way like that. Not to mention, Ryuko herself was in a relationship with Yu, and wouldn't cheat on her girlfriend no matter what. It wasn't like Yu would also fall for Izuku and Nejire, and they'd all be together. That was impossible. Though I admit it's a hot thought. She shook her head to dismiss the ridiculous thought. Yu hadn't even met either of them, and their relationship was a secret for now, so it was better not to think of such fantasies.
Ryuko was brought out of her thoughts as she heard Izuku roar while standing over a pile of junk that was waiting to be loaded into a truck before they were shipped off. Ryuko's face morphed into a warm proud smile. "Congratulations, Midoriya. You managed to clean the beach nicely. People are going to appreciate the beautiful place that they were given even if they didn't know who did it. It was all thanks to you and Nejire."
Izuku rubbed his hair, his cheeks dusting pink at Ryuko's praise. "Thanks, Ryukyu. Sadly, people had buried all of this under their junk, but I'm happy that we cleaned it even if part of it was for training." He gave her his best beaming smile. "Also, thank you very much, Ryukyu. You didn't have to waste your free time with us, but you did anyway. I'm really grateful."
Ryuko averted her face so that he'd not see the blush on it. "It's my duty as a Pro Hero to ensure that you're safe. And, I never thought of it as wasting my time. It was a pleasant time for me to spend with both of you. I'm happy I could help in any way two young promising heroes such as you two, and you even helped me with my own quirk."
Izuku smiled, his admiration for the heroine in front of him growing. He watched her stand up from her place and stretch her body as his mind froze. In her tank top and jeans stretching her body under the light of the sunset, Ryuko looked quite ethereal making Izuku's mind halt as he admired the beautiful sight in front of him. He was mesmerized by the stunning Pro Heroine in front of him, his face turning red before he shook his head to get it back into working order.
Ryuko looked at Izuku, tilting her head cutely, confused by his red face. "Is something wrong, Midoriya?"
Izuku shook his head quickly, too quickly for his liking. "N-No!"
Ryuko was still confused but simply shrugged. "Anyway, the Entrance Exam is just around the corner. How are you feeling?"
Izuku shrugged. "I feel like I've done everything that I could to prepare myself and I'm pretty confident of myself and my quirk, although I can't help but feel nervous after all. As if something bad might happen."
Ryuko smiled, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I guess it's natural to be nervous, but I'm not worried at all. I'm more than sure that you've got what it takes to get into UA, Izuku. In fact, if there is anyone that deserves to be there, then it's you. You can be sure that I'll be rooting for you."
Ryuko saw Izuku's face turn a shade darker as he gave her a beaming smile that made her feel warm inside. "Thanks, Ryukyu. I won't let you down." He declared, as intense as ever.

It took him a long time, but Izuku finally finished the first version of the support item that he was working on. The ones he made for Mt. Lady. After calling her, though without telling her why he needed to meet her, she told him to go to her Hero Agency. So that's why Izuku was now standing in front of an old, run-down building that housed Mt. Lady's hero agency. Mt. Lady didn't even own the whole building and was just renting a floor for her agency. It showed how difficult her money situation was compared to other Pros.
Stepping inside, Izuku took the stairs, as the elevator wasn't working, and moved towards the sixth floor where Mt. Lady's agency was. Knocking on the door, a sleepy, pretty, middle-aged woman with black hair and grey eyes opened the door. She looked like she was about to collapse at any moment.
"Yes? How can I help you?"
"I'm here to meet Mt. Lady. I have an 'appointment' with her."
The woman tilted her head. "You're Midoriya Izuku?" When Izuku nodded, she opened the door further, allowing him in. "Just go to the end of this corridor and enter. You'd find Yu there."
Izuku followed her instructions. He found Mt. Lady, looking like she hadn't slept, working on a mountain of paperwork. Izuku idly noted that there were some kids' toys in one of the corners of the rooms.
"Mt. Lady?" he called out, snapping the woman out of her work.
"Oh, Izuku. You're here!" She exclaimed happily, taking the distraction from her never-ending work.
"Are you busy?" he asked, not wanting to take her attention from her work.
Mt. Lady snorted. "This?" She gestured for her paperwork. "This never ends."
"What are all of those?" He asked, taking a seat while putting the gift box in his lap. Mt. Lady didn't appear to have noticed the gift yet.
"Being a Pro Hero isn't just beating up villains," explained Mt. Lady. "There is a lot of paperwork included; AAR to the police, the HPSC, and other organizations. Bills, contracts, and deals. Stuff to do with sponsors, PR teams, media, and many other things. It's never-ending. Top heroes have people to handle this stuff, but not everyone can afford it."
Izuku hummed. No one talked about this side of hero work, so he was actually surprised by how many things heroes have to deal with aside from saving people and defeating villains.
"Why did you want to meet me?" asked Mt. Lady after a momentary pause.
Izuku smiled widely. He put the box in front of Mt. Lady on top of her desk. "Well, I have something for you."
Mt. Lady's eyes widened, looking at the box for a moment before looking back at Izuku. "Is this what I think it is?"
Izuku nodded, opening the box revealing four purple bracelets with golden-coloured etching on them. Mt. Lady snatched them up. "This is the first version of the support items that I promised," he said, and Mt. Lady hung on every word. "You wear these on your arms and legs, and they'll give you a boost to your speed, strength and endurance." He pointed toward a rune-like etching. "See this? This activates the enchantment by just pressing it, and if you press the rune just behind it, you can take off the bracelets. It's important because I don't know how to make them grow with you, so you can't use them and your quirk at the same time for now.
"I'm working on a better second version, but these should last you for months. If anything happens to them, then please tell me and I'll get you a replac-"
Izuku didn't get to finish as Mt. Lady bounced on him, hugging him tightly. He blushed, but he went nuclear when he felt two soft wet lips land on each of his cheeks.
"Thank you, Izuku!" Mt. Lady exclaimed happily. "This is one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done to me! These will help a lot!"
Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "N-No problem. I'm happy to help, Mt. Lady."
Mt. Lady let him go, taking a step back. "None of that. Call me Yu, you've earned it."
"Okay, Yu," Izuku said with a smile. "I must go now though. Mom wants me to buy a few things for dinner."
Mt. Lady nodded. "Thank you again, Izuku." Before he left the room, she called out to him. "Izuku!"
"Yes?"
"I don't know when we'll meet again, but I'll be rooting for you. I'm sure you'll get into U.A."
Izuku smiled. "Thank you, Yu."

Standing in front of U.A.'s main building was a teenage boy staring in awe at the tall all-glass building. It was his first time seeing it in person.
The teen in question was about 6 feet tall. He had long fluffy dark green hair pulled into a messy ponytail with two long bangs framing his face. His ponytail now reached below his shoulder. He had lost the last of his baby fat leaving him with an angular face that made him look older than he was. His eyes were a little sharper and narrower but still had that innocent look to them. The teen had symmetrical freckles, four on each cheek, in diamond formations. A unique feature for him. The teen wore a black screen uniform that barely hid his toned muscled body.
This was the place for the written part of the Entrance Exam before they explained their Practical part. At each side of the path leading towards the main gate stood out the busts of great, famous heroes of old, welcoming the new students and reminding them of the heroes who took these same steps before them.
Izuku had done everything he could to be here. He had trained his body, his quirk and his mind for this day. He wasn't going to let anyone who believed in him down; His mother, Nejire, Nana, All Might, Ryuko and even Yu.
This was the first step toward achieving his dream
"Okay, here we go." He said as he took a single step forward. The first step of many on the path of his journey toward becoming the best hero in history.

Anemoi: Sirocco | Anemoi were the wind gods related to the cardinal directions from Greek myth while Sirocco is a Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and can reach hurricane speeds in North Africa and Southern Europe, especially during the summer season. Basically a wind elemental spell.
Lösche Luft! | Extinguish air or Air erasure. It basically erases the air around a specific target inside a specific location (circle) for a short period of time enough to make them pass out.
A.N. (OLD)
I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT.
So because I have a lot of shit to deal with like
1- IRL shit (Uni, lack of electricity, depression... etc.)
2- My muse is a fickle bitch and I can't really get it to focus on one thing
3- I don't have much free time so I just write whatever my muses want
among other things
I decided that I'll just post and update whatever story that I write without focusing on one specific story.
I gave up on trying to focus on or providing consistent updates, so I decided to do the best with what I have atm, and just update and post whatever I can. At least I'd update more then.
For those who actually read my stories (especially Rise of the Saiyans), I'm sorry about that since I know some would be pissed cuz I might not be updating the story that they want. I understand if they don't want to follow my stories anymore, but this is what I can do at the moment. Sorry.
Now for the chapter itself.
All Might met Izuku for the first time. The encounter didn't go exactly like canon so while he was impressed by Izuku's quirk, that didn't mean he was going to hand OFA over like that. Not that Izuku will get it in this fic. If you read ao3 version, you'd see that as one of the tags. Sorry for anyone hoping for Izuku to have. Izuku isn't going to need that shit.
Anyway, Izuku meets Ryuko too and gets to know her better. And no, Ryuko doesn't have feelings for Izuku at the moment.
And yes, she and Yu enter a relationship during the months of time-skip. By the way, for those who can't handle the fact that some girls are going to be bisexual in this Poly/multi relationship then… sorry. Don't bother commenting to tell me how sad you are that some of the girls have feelings for other girls in the poly.
And some, yes. Not every girl is going to be bisexual, and some girls will fall in love with other girls, for some, that'll include sexual attraction, and for some, there won't be sexual attraction. Only romantic feelings.
Mt. Lady appears! It's a reworked scene from my Ben10/MHA one-shot for those who read that one. Yu is one of my top 3 girls in mha, alongside Momo and Miruko. She's really underrated by the fans. For a character who had barely any screen time, she had a lot of character development. Hori is usually shit at writing female characters, but Yu is certainly his best-written one.
For those who asked about it. Izuku uses various languages and references for his spells. He is a nerd who reads a lot of comics and fantasy manga and books. He takes inspiration from that by using foreign languages to name his spells, though if a Japanese word sounds better in his mind, he'll use that.
Next chapter is the Entrance Exam. It'll have some differences from the canon one.
Anyway, I hope that you liked the chapter. Please follow, favourite and review.
