Chapter 81 Return to the Underground

Mitsuki was at his place and was sitting at a couch, he looks to see Sydney sitting at a couch looking worried.
"Your worried about your friends?" He asked.
"Oh, yeah." She nodded.
Sydney has been wondering aboutt he others back at the underground city as she was the only one that escaped.
"Well how about we go check the turtles for any progress?" He suggested.
She smiles and nodded at him, Sydney looks at Prima who was in her crib smiling and looking around.
"Be safe there sweetie, mommy will come back." Sydney smiles at her.
Prima waves at her, Hansel and Gretel looked after her while the other two left the house.
Later
The duo arrived at the sewers and Don was showing some of the group off.
"Hey guys." Mitsuki said.
They saw them and Venus said: "Mitsuki, Sydney."
"We came to tell you about the progress about helping the people of the underground." Mitsuki said.
"Well I was trying to figure it out." Don said.
"Yeah, that freaky place." Mikey said.
"Well, how do you think they feel? They're like prisoners down there." Don said.
Sydney looks down and knows she avoided the same fate thanks to Poppy.
"Man, remember that spooky sole survivor guy?" Mikey said.
"I wish I could forget. Remember what he said?" Don said.
"The crystals were the only thing there to keep them human." Mitsuki frowns.
"I remember we had to put that wack-bag on ice." Raph said.
"Thanks to Poppy." Venus said.
"And when our friends strayed too far from the city's crystal moon, they turned right back into monsters." Don said.
"We made them a promise, remember? A promise to find a cure, and I know the cure has something to do with these crystals." Don picks up a crystal and stares at it. "I just don't know what."
"Hey remember what happened with Poppy?" Mikey said.
"You mean Sydney got infected by the Bugster virus." Mitsuki said.
"Well, why not something similar with the crystals." Mikey said.
"That's too dangerous." Mitsuki said.
Don thinks of something and Venus checks the crystal. "Why not sound?"
"Sound? Of course!" Don smiles as he puts it inside of a machine. "With sound vibrations we can turn the crystal into liquid."
"Really?" Mikey said.
"I learned many things in my travels." Venus said.
"You should have asked Venus then." Raph said.
"Maybe, but now I got what I need to do, we need more." Don said.
"Well we should go." Leonardo said.
Sydney was happy that her friends can be saved.
Mitsuki noticed a new gashat being called Sims but it's still not complete. "New Gashat?"
"Oh yeah, but that's still not finished. Come on, i've been working on a way down." Don leads them.
They arrived at the service bay, where the vehicle he's built is parked.
"Ladies, gentlemen, and Mikey, I give you the Turtle Tunneler!" Don said.
"Not bad." Mitsuki said.
They went inside as they took different seats with Don starting it up. "Tunneler engaged!"
Donatello drives out into the sewer tunnels, they reached the place where they met Sydney once, Donatello activates the laser drill on the front of the Tunneler.
"From here on in, the ride gets a whole lot bumpier." Don said.
He proceeds to widen the tunnel, driving through to reach the abandoned subway tunnel where they first encountered Stonebiter, Donatello makes a shortcut to the underground through a wall.
Sydney looks around a little nervous since it's been a long time since she was here.
"Don't worry Sydney." Poppy talked to her.
"I know." She said.
"Who are you talking to?" Raph said.
"Oh, Poppy." Sydney said.
"You talked to her just now." Raph said.
"It happens." Mitsuki said.
"Next stop, underground city." Don said.
"Already? I barely had time to watch the in-flight movie." Mikey was holding a computer.
"Wait a minute. Isn't there supposed to be a light at the end of this tunnel?" Leo points.
Sydney got worried and they arrived at the other side to see the crystal is gone.
"The crystal moon... it's gone." Don said and they gasped.
"How can this be?" Venus said.
"I don't know sis, but it means, that they're back as monsters." Mikey said.
And by what he said the others appeared making Sydney scared as they attacked them, they tried to run but they lifted the tunneler sending them into lava.
But then they came out of it with some still stunned.
"What? You think I wouldn't have designed this thing to withstand lava? What kind of idiot do you think I am?" Don said.
"Are there different kinds?" Mikey asked.
They proceed farther into the city.
"Okay, we need to be careful." Mitsuki said.
"Yeah, maybe you should, you know, transform." Mikey suggested.
"I will, we need to find the main room." Mitsuki said.
As they kept going someone sees them and follows them.
"They're out there." Raphael said.
"Yes." Venus nodded.
"Why don't they attack already?" Raph said.
"Cause they don't want the Tunneler, just the chewy green snacks inside." Mikey was scared.
Don stops the tunneler. "Guys, don't worry. I packed us a little something for emergencies. Our seat backs detach to become Tech-Pack units, high-tech weapon and survival gear. And from the look of this place, we're gonna need 'em."
They got the packs on and went out, Mitsuki changed into Fuma for safety as they exited.
"Excuse me. Why are we getting out of the nice, safe, heavily armored vehicle?" Mikey said.
"Cause I need to find more crystals." Don said.
"Don't worry, let's just go inside." Fuma said.
They went inside and saw the High Mage is still encased in crystal suspended animation.
"You still here? Yo, buddy, that bus ain't coming." Raph checks him.
Don takes the crystal from the base. "The Entity's amulet seems to be the only crystal we've seen. It's a start, I guess, but I'll need more."
Then it made a room opened revealing others in suspended animation too.
They went inside and Leo said: "What's this place?"
"Just what we need, more creepy bald guys." Mikey said.
"Why do I get the feeling Mr. Sole Survivor didn't exactly tell us the whole story about his extinct race?" Don said.
They heard foosteps making them get ready to fight but to they're surprise it was a Bugster, it resembles Lovelica but blue with the flowers replaced by a green crystal.
"Greetings." He waves.
"A bugster?!" They said.
Fuma has a bad feeling about him. "Are you Lovelica?"
Sydney gasped hearing that name since she knows from Poppy's memories.
"At one time, but I am now Sim Bugster."
"Wait this is another guy from when Poppy was different." Mikey said.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Leo asked him.
"Okay." He nodded.
"It was a long time, when I was reborn in a new gashat, I appeared in this city. The people here saw me but they weren't afraid, instead they accepted me and I lived here with them to keep them safe and entertained. But they used so many crystals to find a cure until they used explosive geods we found to get some from the big one, but the explosion was too much making it fall down, then they all changed I had to hide until you came." Sim explained.
"No." Sydney said.
"But you found a cure didn't you?" Sim asked.
Fuma was surprised that Lovelica was being nice.
"Yeah, except for a little problem. I only had enough crystals to make one vial of serum. I never expected to find a shortage of crystals down here." Don said.
"With the crystal moon gone, all the crystals are dead." Sydney said.
"We'd have to raise the crystal moon from the lava to bring back the energy source." Don said.
"What are you talking about? That thing has to have melted away to nothing in that lava." Mikey said.
"Not necessarily. The crystals are almost indestructible. They don't liquefy from heat. They liquefy from sonic vibrations." Don said.
"Well, if it's down there, let's get it back up where it can do some good." Leo said.
"Yeah, Donny. You're on a roll today. Any more bright ideas? We're gonna need one." Raph said.
Don then thinks of one. Well, we could try to use the crystal cable from the old underground tram, secure one end to the tram tower, and the other end around a sturdy rock ledge, thus rigging a giant-sized variation of the old block and tackle. The ledge should provide us with a good angle for optimum leverage. Then I'll take the Turtle Tunneler down into the lava to hook the cable to the crystal moon. We can use the explosive geodes Sim discovered to dislodge the tram tower from its foundation and topple it over."
He shows the plans. "We'll be cutting it close, but it just might work."
"Just one question. Who came up with this plan, Wackos R Us?" Mikey said.
"It is a little unorthodox, but it'll work. I hope." Don said.
They did what they were told, Don was at the tunneler with Sydney as Kamen Rider Poppy and Sim.
"Are you sure you want to come?" Don asked.
"I am the only one that knows where it is." Sim said. "A rider can even handle the heat."
"Engaging infrared scanner. Let's do this quickly. I don't know how long the heat shields will hold." Don said.
They enter the lava, pulling the crystal cable along behind the Tunneler. The others finish placing the geodes around the tram tower.
Leonardo uses his headset to communicate with Donatello. "Explosives are in place."
"Now all we gotta do is sit back and wait for Donny's signal." Raph said.
They heard roars and looked up at the buildings to see the other monsters.
"Or we can keep busy by fighting for our lives!" Mikey said.
They went down and Leo said: "Donny, we got company up here!"
"Stall them, but try not to hurt them." Don told them.
They group then fight them off with Fuma going first blocking many of they're claws with his swords while moving around.
Leonardo uses the cables from his pack to avoid the monsters, while Raphael blasts them. The Spider shoots webbing at him, which he dodges, and the concussive stun blast he retaliates with knocks the Spider into the lava. It proves impervious to lava by crawling right back out again.
Michelangelo gets backed into a dead end, but Leonardo lowers himself on his cables to rescue his brother.
"Thought you could use a lift, Mikey." He bring shim up.
Venus jumps over many as she and Fuma worked together fighting against them.
"We gotta keep them away." Fuma said.
"Yes." She nodded.
Cyclops manages to grab Raphael by his Tech-Pack and lift him off the ground. It crushes the pack, which explodes and Raphael drops to the ground. Michelangelo leaps on the monster's back before it can attack his brother again.
Cyclops then smashes Mikey against the wall, but Venus came hitting him back.
"Donny...hurry! I don't know how much longer we can keep this up!" Leo told him.
Fuma spins his swords making tornado hitting the others back, Leo then swings away with his siblings.
The Spider spits webbing at the fleeing turtles and manages to catch all of them. Wrapped tightly in cocoons of webbing, the turtles lie helpless on the ground.
"Guys! Venus!" Fuma goes after them.
In the lava, Donatello wraps the crystal cable around the crystal moon.
"Crystal moon is nearly secure." Don said.
"Heat shields are almost gone. We've got thirty seconds before we're cooked." Poppy said.
"I just have to lock off the cable." Don said.
Fuma keeps them back from his friends as he got pushed back.
"Guys now!" Don told them.
Fuma cuts Mikey letting him jump away. Michelangelo shoots a line to the top of a building and then rides it up and over the monsters.
"Whoo-hoo!"
Using a vibrational activator, Michelangelo sets off the explosive geodes. The explosion causes the tram tower to fall, which pulls the crystal moon up from the lava. As soon as the light from the crystal moon hits the monsters, they begin to revert back to their human forms.
"Yeah! Yes!" They cheered.
Fuma didn't hear about Poppy and Don so he rushes where the tunneler went out with the others following them.
They were at the spot and were worried but then it comes out making the trio come out as well.
Sydney went out first and Fuma hugs her, she got surprised before hugging him.
Donatello begins inoculating the humans with his serum. The group then helped them out of a manhole coming back out into the city seeing the sunlight.
"This is it, guys. Daylight again." Don said and they smiled.
The humans smiled and they went back home, Sydney stayed with Mitsuki as they watched them leave.
"Your not going?" Sim asked.
"I am where I belong." Sydney said.
Sim nodded. "I'll be going too." He goes on his own.
"Where?" Raph asked.
"Somewhere." He goes off.
Sydney holds Mitsuki's hand as she smiles.
"You know, let's give them some space." Raph said.
Venus frowns a bit before they went back inside of the manhole, the couple went back home to see they're daughter.
Note: Heres Return to the Underground, since Sydney wasn't there to explain a new bugster appeared that was living with the humans, who is the reborn Lovelica.
