"How much further now?" Ilias yawned. They had been walking without stopping for the last few hours, and they had seen nothing but vast stretches of sand all the way, as one would expect in a desert.
"Hmm... We'll rest here for the night. In the morning, we can head out again. It should only be another hour or two." Luka suggested, already getting to work on setting up camp.
Ilias sat down on the grass as though she were some sort of peasant. The thought annoyed her greatly, but she had no alternative. Fear of Tamamo had driven her to follow Luka, and she was now paying the price.
I guess it's not that bad. Still, it's been strange to talk to him all this time.
Seeing things on the ground like this is so... different.
I'm glad to still be alive... But I still don't really understand how. I mean, did my death really cause some sort of glitch in the space-time continuum? It all sounds so absurd...
But it is reality. And I believe Luka. Besides, he was always a terrible liar. Just like his mother.
Though, she did manage to hide her angelic side for five hundred years, so I guess that's not completely true.
"Alright, how does some bread and meat sound?" Luka asked, sitting down across from Ilias. It was only then that she realised he had finished setting up the whole camp.
"Again..?" Ilias pouted, crossing her arms. "Don't you think a Goddess deserves something better? Bread is so... bland."
"First off, we don't really have a choice. Secondly, you're not really a Goddess anymore." The hero pointed out.
"What did you just say!?" The angel stood up, now furious. "I am a Goddess! I am!"
"...Uh-huh. Acting like a child is so very goddess-like of you." Luka said.
"H-how dare you!" Ilias said. "I am Ilias, the Goddess of Creation! Mother of all humans, bringer of light!"
"Yeah, yeah." Luka ignored the angel's ranting, something he had gotten used to over their short journey together. "Look, just wait for a second. I have some leftover spices for the meat, so it shouldn't be too bland."
"Hmph. Good." The Goddess sat back down, still a little annoyed. That feeling was completely eradicated once she smelled the food. She started to salivate but quickly wiped it away.
He really is a good cook... Heh, If I still had my power, I'd make him my personal chef.
Haah... I miss it all so much. I used to be able to move mountains with my power and now look at me...
What did I do to deserve this!? It's all his fault.
...
Well, that's not entirely true, I guess. I did try to destroy the world...
But I had no choice! Humanity failed me! They were all heretics and traitors! I had to start over... right?
Ilias looked up to the stars. She had never seen them like this before. From Heaven, the innate light of the realm actually blocked them out, making it harder to see them. But down here, down on the surface, they were so clear.
They're pretty beautiful, actually...
Stars... Daystar. Lucifina... Micaela...
They both left me... Were they wrong? Or... was I?
The small Goddess turned to Luka, who was currently focused on cooking the meal. His purple hair, his blue eyes, and his short stature all reminded her of his ancestor, Heinrich. He, too, betrayed her.
Was he justified as well?
Three separate people, all of them once loyal, then all betraying me...
There's only one common denominator. It's me, not them...
"Luka," Ilias called out. The Hero turned up to look at her. His eyes widened once he noticed she was crying.
"I-Ilias? What's wrong?" He asked, worried for the little Goddess. He walked over to her, kneeling down to her height. "What happened?"
"Why did they all leave me!?" She asked, wiping away her tears with her hands. "Your mother, your aunt! Why! What did I do!?"
"Ilias..." Luka sighed. "It... It must've hurt when they left you, didn't it?"
After a few moments, Ilias slowly nodded. "But they had good reasons to." The Hero said. "You understand that, right?"
"...I guess." She said, dropping back down to the dirt, still quietly sniffling.
"Ilias... I can't say I forgive you for everything you did. It's not my right. But... You can make amends for it. Now is the time, Ilias. I believe in you."
"Why!?" Ilias asked. "I tried to destroy the world! I tried to kill everyone you knew, and I tried to kill you! I killed your mother, Luka! I did that!"
"...I know," Luka muttered. "Maybe I am a fool. But... I think there is good and bad in everyone. There is still hope for you. I know it."
But he's wrong! There's not good in everyone, no matter how hard you try to look for it, you won't find it! Some people are just pure evil!
"What about Hiruko, then? Hmm? Is there good in her too? She eats children alive, Luka! Children!" Ilias said.
"...I don't know her. But... killing children cannot be forgiven. If I see her again, I'll get rid of her." Luka silently murmured.
"You mean, you'll seal her?" Ilias asked.
"No... Sealing them doesn't work. Not anymore. Alipheese, or you, could just bring them back. I have to finish them off for good." Luka said. Ilias noticed a lack of emotion in his voice, as though there was a lack of conviction on his end.
"But then, why do I deserve a second chance!? I killed children too, Luka. Not directly, but... My angels did, whether by accident or not."
Luka's eyes widened. He had never known that about the Goddess.
She had children killed? I...
Does that mean she deserves to die as well?
...I'm so confused...
What do I do?
Should I seal or kill? Should I give them all a second chance?
In Heaven, I fought Promestein and Black Alice while they used the drug White Rabbit. They died from its effects after I weakened them, but I didn't mean to kill them, right? And Ilias, she's right here in front of me, so I didn't kill her either...
Can I kill? Should I? Heinrich likely killed on his journey, and my Father killed dozens... and my Mother killed thousands...
What would a true Hero do?
I wish you were here, Alice. You'd tell me to stop being an idiot and just come to a decision...
But, If I do choose to just get rid of them, then I cannot discriminate. That means... I'll have to kill my aunt and my mother too...
I-I can't do that...
I'm sorry, Reaper and White Rabbit, but you chose the wrong person. I can't do this...
"Luka?" Ilias called out, looking at the now disheartened hero. "I... Sorry."
"No... It's fine." The Hero walked back to the fire, continuing to cook the meat. "I guess I've just never really thought about it before."
Damn it... I don't like seeing him like that...
After a brief silence, one of them spoke up. "What would Heinrich have done?" Luka asked, looking up at the Goddess. "You knew him well, didn't you? Did he kill?"
"...He did. When he had no choice. He intended to destroy Black Alice... And, when he invaded Heaven, he tried to take me down too. There was a few other monsters he was forced to kill along the way." She explained.
Luka looked to be in contemplation for a while, a sight that worried Ilias. "But Luka, he failed," She pointed out. "He died in Heaven, alone."
"Right..." He muttered. "Anyway, here's your portion."
The Hero handed the girl a plate of meat and bread, which were adequately salted and spiced. But even though the food smelled so delicious, Ilias had something more important to focus on.
"Luka... You don't have to follow Heinrich. You don't have to do anything anyone else tells you. Do what you think is right." She said. The conversation ended with that, with not another word being spoken during the entire meal.
Ilias sighed as she got comfortable in the tent. As they only had one of them, they were forced to share. Thankfully, they were both small, so it was not a big issue.
Luka... You shouldn't ask me about this kind of stuff. I don't know if you should kill them or not.
They may be monsters, but... that fact alone doesn't make them evil... It is their leader's fault.
...And the same could be said for my angels. I know some of them were quite... unsavoury. And I suppose I may have to possibly take just a little bit of the blame for that, but only a little.
Haah... This is all so much trouble. Let's just get to that damn Tartutus thing and leave.
Ilias's eyes slowly opened. A gentle light was surrounding her, with a warm, comforting feeling coming along with it. The clouds she was lying on were a sight she had seen many times before. It only took her a second to recognise the realm she found herself in.
W-What the hell!? I'm in Heaven!?
"Who the hell are you?"
The Goddess's eyes widened as she looked up at the voice's source. A beautiful blonde angel was floating above her, with bright blue eyes that stood out in the mostly-white realm. Her pale, delicate skin, along with her two large, fluffy wings, were both sights Ilias recognised.
...This isn't good.
"H-hello..." Ilias muttered, terrified of the presence in front of her. The Goddess looked down at the pathetic version of herself below her. She had many questions for this Ilias, such as where the hell she even came from.
"Answer my question." She ordered, her hands suddenly exploding with lighting. "I will hurt you if necessary."
Shit. I better just tell her. I should be reasonable enough, right?
"I-Im you." The little angel said. "From another world."
"Another world..?" Ilias questioned. "Then... Ah, I see now... You are from the same world as the hero, is that right?"
"W-what? Wait, you know!? H-how!?"
"I have no reason to tell you. I was wondering where you came from, but now that I know, it will be fine to just dispose of you." The Goddess said. Thunder began crackling in the distance, a sign of her spell beginning.
"W-wait! Don't do that!" Ilias shouted. "Do you not know how this whole thing started in the first place!?"
The Goddess paused, bringing her hand to her chin as she thought. "Right... Your supposed death... Hmm. I suppose I'll have to find a safer way to dispose of you. You can clutch to your pathetic life for a while longer, other me."
Phew...
The Smaller Ilias sighed in relief. She looked up at her counterpart and noticed something strange. In her eyes, she could see something. They were red, as though she had just been crying.
No way... What reason could I have to cry?
Unless... maybe the war is going bad for her?
But to make me cry... Something really bad must've happened.
But what? What could drive me to tears?
"I have things to do." The Goddess said abruptly. "Rest assured, other me. I will prevail in this war. After that, you and that Hero are next."
Hmph. Don't go lumping us together like that..
I think this dream is over... Thank me. I'll have to tell Luka about this after the Tarturus. I don't want this weighing on his mind.
The Goddess Ilias waved her hand, ending the projection immediately. She had only started the spell out of pure curiosity, and she had planned to destroy the alternate version of herself. But for now, she couldn't. The Goddess signed.
Micaela, Eden... To lose both of you and so close to each other...
The Goddess's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her strength faltering for a moment as the reality of the situation settled in. She had loved her children deeply, as close to love as someone like her could achieve, anyway. To witness Micaela's demise at the hands of that damned fox, and to see Eden fall to the clutches of a succubus... It had nearly shattered her to the core.
"Mother."
The sound of Lucifina's voice broke through the heavy silence. Ilias turned to see her daughter kneeling, her sword sheathed beside her. Her heart ached at the sight of the Daystar, her last living family.
"Lucifina," Ilias said, her voice a mixture of weariness and concern as she moved closer to her daughter.
Lucifina's gaze met Ilias's, a storm of emotions brewing within her own eyes. The pain of losing both her sisters, the turmoil of conflicted feelings, it was all etched upon her face. At that moment, as mother and daughter locked eyes, the gravity of their shared loss was palpable.
The Daystar, so often a beacon of unwavering strength, now looked vulnerable and broken. Her heart was a battlefield of emotions, torn between the fire of vengeance and the depths of sorrow. All her hopes and desires for revenge were now inextricably tied to the Goddess who stood before her.
Ilias closed the distance between them, her arms reaching out to encircle Lucifina in a tender embrace. It was a gesture of comfort and shared understanding as their tears finally fell. The Goddess's own grief mingled with her daughter's, their quiet sobs echoing through the isolated part of the sacred realm.
"We will kill them all," Ilias whispered, wiping away her tears. It was not fit for a Goddess to cry. "Every last one."
Lucifina nodded, holding her mother close.
"Every last one." She repeated.
"Do you think it will work?" Reaper asked, watching as the Hero Luka and Goddess Ilias approached the Tarturus. It was a large, deep hole in the ground. One that would require a ladder to properly explore. Thankfully, Ilias knew a few levitation spells, so the problem was avoided.
"I hope so." White Rabbit muttered, also watching the pair. Both of them had their hopes pinned on the Hero, just as they had done in the past. The Great Reset had come with many costs. Many worlds were prevented from ever existing, meaning millions of people were never born. This was a price that had to be paid.
"Will the same thing happen again?" Reaper turned to her long-time companion. "Will the Apostles of Chaos reappear? Or has that fate been avoided?"
"I am not sure. Apoptosis still seems to exist but... The level of chaos is extremely low, even with Kanon's and Hiruko's death, and Micaela and Eden's. It will take a few more decades for it to become a real issue. That is, as long as no more of them die. Especially either of the Goddesses."
"And what will we do to prevent that? We've never done a good job of controlling him before..."
"I think we did a fine job, first off. And I prefer the word guiding." White Rabbit complained. "We're helping him, in truth. We always have. Don't talk like we're some sort of villains."
"For what we've done in the past... We are worse than Ilias herself."
"...We had no choice. The Hero had to see both sides." White Rabbit countered. "Anyway, this is irrelevant."
The two returned to watching the Hero Luka. He had now managed to enter the Tarturus and was immediately greeted by a strange, semi-mechanical monster girl. Or an apoptosis, as they were more commonly known.
"He sure is different from the one we knew," Reaper commented. "A lot smarter, for one..."
"Remember the original version of him in the past?"
"I do... When he found out that all the new worlds and all the new wars were caused by his slaying of Ilias... He blamed himself. All those deaths in his world, all that destruction, he said it was his fault."
"He's always been like that." White Rabbit sighed. "For now, though, this one hasn't gone down that path. I suppose he doesn't yet really realise that it all happened because of him."
Well, it's not he actually did anything wrong. It is just a twist of fate that something like this would happen.
"Hmm... So, should we tell him?" Reaper asked, turning to White Rabbit.
"No. We can't risk anything anymore. If even one little thing were to go wrong... This whole situation could spiral out of control. For now, Black Alice seems content to stay a spectator. But if she were to suddenly attack Luka..."
"...Damn it. Is there seriously nothing we can do?"
"Not until we gather enough power. But that is a slow process. We still don't even have enough to do a small reset. We'll be no use in a fight."
"And he'll need us for one. With two ancestors and two seraphs dead, winning against Black Alice is becoming more and more impossible." Reaper said.
"How negative of you. I, for one, believe in him. Besides, all he really needs is Ilias and Alipheese, and the whole thing should be a cakewalk!"
"...I'm not so sure." The Goddess of Death said. "Last time he had the power of Chaos on his side."
"Right... Well, it's a good thing he no longer has it. It only ever brought him pain." White Rabbit said.
Reaper nodded as she continued to watch the Hero as he made his way through the Tarturus, easily dispatching the apoptosis that showed up to stop him.
"Well, they're approaching the door. I better get going." White Rabbit said, hopping through a portal.
...Hero Luka...
You beat Black Alice once before, a long time ago. She survived, but... You can do it again. I'm sure of it. Even with all her power, you are stronger.
"Ugh... What the hell even are these things?" Luka wondered aloud.
"No idea," Ilias said. "But there sure are a lot of them. C'mon, Luka, put your back into it. It's going to take us ages to get through here if you keep going this slow."
"You don't have to stay on my back, you know. You can walk on your own, can't you?" The Hero said.
"Oh shut up. I'm not risking getting hit by one of them. And besides, the floor here is filthy, and I don't have any shoes!" Ilias pointed out.
"Fine..." Luka continued to walk through the Tarturus, checking his corners as he moved from room to room. Strange monsters had been showing up all the while, each one more disgusting than the last.
"Over there, Luka! On your right!"
Ilias pointed towards a new monster, one who was six feet tall and had odd, blueish skin. She had armour plates on her arms, thighs, and lower legs. Her hands and feet were replaced with sharp, metal claws, and her green hair stood out in the predominantly grey Tartutus.
That was another strange thing about the place. Instead of being a cave, it was like some sort of metal laboratory combined with parts of a seemingly random landscape. Some parts were filled with grass, while others had sand or stone. It was truly bizarre—a sight the hero never thought he'd see. Though, it did remind him of Promestein's laboratories.
"Who the hell are you?" The monster asked, looking at the boy with critical eyes. It's as if she judged him unworthy based on appearance alone, something that the Hero was used to by now.
"I should be asking you that," Luka said, reading Angel Halo.
"Hmph. My name is Riot. I'm an Apoptosis." She replied. "Tell me, why is there an angel on your back..?"
An Apoptosis? Is that what they're called?
"Don't ask," Luka muttered. "Anyway, are you going to get in my way?"
"You are an intruder here, of course I will!"
Well, I can't exactly blame her for fighting me. Still, I have to get through here!
Riot's tail swept along the ground, her claws snapped open and closed, and a smile formed on her lips. She looked ready for a fight, and Luka was prepared to give her one.
"Eat this!" Luka shouted as he attacked the monster, his blade striking her five times in one rapid attack. The monster attempted to block them all but only managed to stop the first three. The fourth and fifth cut straight into her chest and arm, launching her back.
Before she could rise again, the Hero jumped on her, sticking his sword into her. Her body began to glow as the sealing process began, leaving behind an extraordinarily strange-looking... thing. Luka had no idea what to make of it, but he had seen things like this happen before, like with the Chimeras.
"That was... surprisingly easy." Luka said, sheeting Angel Halo.
"Apoptosis... I feel like I've heard that name somewhere, but I can't recall... Damn it." Ilias murmured. "Anyway, let's keep going. This fifth spirit or whatever shouldn't be far now."
"Right." The Hero and the Goddess continued to walk through the strange location, fending off any attackers with ease. Even with just Gnomaren to aid him, Luka was still a force to be reckoned with.
"Luka, on your right! Watch out!" Ilias shouted, pointing towards a strange, purple-haired rabbit girl who had come out from behind a wall. Luka sighed as he recognised the monster.
"It's just White Rabbit," Luka said. "You remember when I talked about her, right?"
"She's the Spirit of Time?" Ilias looked up at the monster, who did not look like someone anyone would entrust that sort of power to.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the Goddess of Creation herself. You look so adorable up there!" White Rabbit teased.
Ilias scowled as she realised her embarrassing position. She quickly hopped off the back of Luka, allowing her feet to touch the dirty metal floor. She would just have to deal with it for now.
"What are you doing here, White Rabbit?" Luka asked, dropping his guard completely. Ilias noticed this and was surprised by his demeanour.
Why does he trust her so much?
I guess she and that Reaper girl did save his life... from me...
"Oh, you know, just taking a little walk." White Rabbit said. "Wanna join me?"
"Sure," Luka said, following the rabbit further in. He continued to dispatch any monster, or rather, any apoptosis, that had shown up. Ilias helped in this, but with what little power she had left, the difference she made was negligible, much to her annoyance. She also noted that White Rabbit made no attempt to help, instead opting to just watch the battles unfold.
"So, where did you come from, White Rabbit?" Ilias asked, looking up at the Spirit.
"Well, when one rabbit girl and a human really like each other..."
"Oh shut up. I know you're no ordinary monster..." Ilias muttered, annoyed at not being taken seriously.
"You'll learn all you need to soon, Ilias. For now, we must continue on!" White Rabbit led the charge through the Tarturus, with Luka and Ilias following behind her. They descended a few more layers, dispatched a few more Apoptosis, and then suddenly stopped.
"Why'd we stop?" Ilias asked.
"Here we are... The door." White Rabbit muttered. She moved out of the way, allowing both Ilias and Luka to see what she was referring to. A strange, metallic-looking door was seen in the centre of a wall. It had odd symbols on it and looked quite sturdy, certainly not something Luka could break through with ease.
"What's the problem?" Luka asked, approaching the door. "Can't we just open it?" The Hero put his hand on the door and attempted to push it, but it did not budge even a little.
"You used to be able to open it." White Rabbit said. "But that power is no longer yours to wield. For now, we'll have to get through another way."
"Another way...? How?"
"Both of you need to turn around." She ordered. "You can't see what's going to happen. It would bring up too many questions."
Well, now I'm just curious... But she's helped me so far, so I guess I could trust her.
Still, I shouldn't fully trust her. Just like Ilias did, she could betray me. Just because she helped me once doesn't mean she's on my side. I'll need to keep an eye on her.
The Hero turned around, now facing away from the door.
"You too, Ilias." White Rabbit said. Luka looked down to see the little Goddess staring at the rabbit in defiance.
"Ilias, please. Just this once." Luka pleaded.
"...Fine." Ilias reluctantly faced away, allowing the White Rabbit to do whatever she wanted to.
Good... Now, let's get this over with.
White Rabbit opened a portal, allowing her to access a storage space of her own. Inside was... an arm. It had been severed around the elbow, leaving it only half as long as a normal one would be. Its sleeve was made of ordinary, somewhat bland clothing, and the same could be said for the glove.
Luka...
The Spirit of Time pressed the arm up against the door, causing it to shoot open.
Thank you, for all the sacrifices you've made.
Long ago, in the universe that came before this one, the Hero Luka knew of White Rabbit and Reaper's plan to reset everything. In fact, he was an essential piece of it. He pointed out that nobody but him and his father could open the doors found in Tarturuses, and since they didn't have the power to bring him with them, they could make do with his arm. Her magic had prevented it from rotting, but it was simply good fortune that the arm did not need to be alive to work.
I promise. We will make a better future, for everyone. Your sacrifice, and everyone else's, will not be in vain.
"Done!" White Rabbit cheerfully announced, putting the arm back in storage. "Ta-da~ Look!"
Luka and Ilias turned back in unison. "Oh? How'd you open it?" The Hero asked.
"That's a secret! Now, let's keep going." She said, walking through the door. Ilias followed, along with Luka, but she still thought the Rabbit suspicious.
How the hell did she open that door? I think I remember them now...
Luka couldn't open it either, and even if I was at my full strength, it might even be beyond me...
Well, she is the Spirit of Time. I have no idea what sort of powers she may have. In fact, I've never even heard of such a spirit existing.
Speaking of spirits, the Spirit of Chaos shouldn't be far now. I wonder, what would an element like chaos have for its vessel? Something terrifying, I bet.
The Hero, rabbit, and Goddess all made their way past the door and found themselves in a strange, castle-like landscape. It looked like something Luka had seen before, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"It's so... empty. Why is there no life here? And what's with all the purple stuff along the walls?" He asked.
"That's an effect of chaos. This whole Tarturus was created, Luka. Made by Black Alice, not long ago. Normally, there would be plenty of humans here, trapped in time, but it seems as though that didn't happen this time... Perhaps because this is only a recreation of the Tartutus and not one that was formed?" White Rabbit wondered aloud.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Luka commented. "So, how far do you think the spirit is now? I'd rather get out of this place as fast as I can."
"It shouldn't be long now." White Rabbit said, leading the way. "Just follow me!"
Luka continued to follow the strange rabbit but was suddenly stopped when he felt something pull at his cape.
"Ilias? What's wrong?" He asked, looking at the small Goddess.
"I don't trust her." She said. "All this Tarturus business, these apoptoses... She must be behind it somehow."
"I don't know... I don't fully trust her either, but we don't have much choice now. We'll need all the help we can get to end the war." The Hero replied, walking past Ilias. She sighed, then started to follow.
Speaking of, White Rabbit is the same name as the drug Black Alice used in Heaven. I wonder if that's just a coincidence, or if there's something else going on...
"Let's check that house out." White Rabbit suggested, pointing towards a half-broken home. It was nearly completely covered in a purple, goo-like substance, and was far more corroded when compared to the other buildings. On top of that, there was some sort of odd noise coming from inside.
"Alright," Luka said, following her in. Ilias could not hide her fear as she followed. The entire Tarturus environment had shaken her to the core, and she only kept herself from running away through a mix of pride and trust in Luka to protect her.
When the trio entered the house, they found the damage to be just as bad inside as it was outside. Broken bookshelves, along with tables, chamberpots, and other furniture, littered the room. In one of the corners, a huge mass of purple could be seen, and a strange, Kyu-like sound emanated from it.
What could that be?
White Rabbit made way for the Hero, allowing him to approach the dark figure he could see. Ilias decided to keep her distance, afraid of what the thing could be.
Are those tentacles?
Luka managed to get a good look at the figure and found it to not be some sort of apoptosis, but instead a Scylla of some kind, who resembled Omori, even if only a little. She was wearing a strange, predominantly red jacket, along with some sort of mask which hung from the side of her head.
She also had long hair, which seemed to combine with her eight tentacles around halfway down. Her red eyes and yellow scarf were vibrant, something that reminded Luka of his own scarf, or rather, his cape.
"Are you... the fifth spirit?" Luka asked, weary of the monster. The Scylla turned to the Hero, surprised by his sudden appearance. She quickly ran at him, which was surprisingly fast due to her tentacles. She leapt at the Hero, who managed to dodge in time, and quite easily at that. It seemed the monster was not a great fighter.
"Hey, we're not here to hurt you!" He said. "Please, calm down."
The Scylla looked at the Hero with suspicious eyes for a moment, then drifted her gaze to the other two present in the room. After a few seconds, she sighed, lowering her stance.
What an odd monster. Is this really the fifth spirit?
"So, what now?" Luka asked, turning towards White Rabbit. "Do I contract with her or something?"
"No, not yet." She said. "For now, we should bring her with us when we leave."
"Oh, alright. So do we just go back the way we came?" He suggested.
"Pretty much. But whatever you do, Luka, do not go further ahead. Trust me. If you go that way, your demise is all but assured." White Rabbit ominously said. "Now, I have things to do. See ya! Good luck!"
Luka nodded as he watched the Rabbit leave the house. Ilias joined Luka, looking at the strange spirit.
"So, what's your name?" Luka asked. "I don't want to have to call you the Spirit of Chaos every time."
"Kyu, kyu!" She said.
...What? What does Kyu mean?
"Uh... I don't know what that means. Ilias?"
"Don't look at me. I've never heard such gibberish substitute for a language before." She said. "Anyway, we'll come up with a name later. For now, just call her... KyuKyu."
"...KyuKyu? Are you serious? That might be the worst name I've ever heard." He commented, unimpressed with the Goddess.
"Kyu, Kyu! Kyu Kyu, Kyu Kyu Kyu Kyu—Kyu!" The Spirit shouted, sounding as though she were complaining. She looked at Ilias with unforgiving eyes, almost as if she were telling her she was unhappy with the name.
Haah... I sure do hope we find someone who can interpret for us, and soon... I don't think I can handle another round of Kyus.
Notes
The Spirit of Chaos has finally been acquired, though the Hero has not yet contracted with her. On top of that, we've seen Ilias and Lucifna vow to kill every monster alive, a promise that they will do everything within their power to fulfil.
I can understand that those who are not very good with the Paradox lore may be confused by Reaper and White Rabbit's conversations, and unfortunately, I lack the skill to make it all easier to understand. For now, I'll try to explain everything as best I can, but I'm sure a lot of people will still be confused.
