"Team Rocket" Ash growled.
"That's right now hand over all the Pokemon you have" James declared.
"If you don't then we'll just have to beat you to a bloody pulp" Jessie smirked.
"Well, you're wasting your time then. This place is for weak and injured Pokemon" Nurse Joy yelled.
"The weaker they are the easier it is for us to steal them," James said as his hand started turning into smoke.
"Smokescreen" James lifted his arms as smoke billowed from his arms filling the whole room with smoke.
'Of course, they would have devil fruits' Ash thought as he began coughing.
"Oh and I forgot to mention but we have to kill everyone here" James's voice echoed through the smoke-filled room. His body materialized behind Nurse Joy until he got a foot to the face.
"You know the biggest weakness of logia's is you need to focus to maintain your intangibility meaning sneak attacks can still land a hit" Ash smiled as he kicked James away just enough to protect Nurse Joy who then immediately left to start transferring pokeballs to another pokemon center and called for help.
"Oh, so you know of the devil fruits then?" James asked.
"Yeah and to think you would so blatantly use it in front of Nurse Joy" Ash frowned.
"Don't think that the league will be able to execute us so easily runt" James replied.
"Since you used yours and Nurse Joy ain't here time to use mine. Gum Gum pistol" Ash's arm shot forward but simply phased through James' head.
"Ah, so you have the Gomu Gomu no mi it appears" James caught Ash's arm as it retracted he then yanked it forward causing Ash's whole body to be pulled towards James. James's arm then turned black before punching Ash's head into the floor. Ash coughed up blood as his devil fruit's defense was negated.
"How did you learn haki?" Ash asked as he got back up.
"All team rocket grunts are trained to use it" James then shoved his fist into Ash's gut sending him flying into a wall before falling on some tables. He got back only for the woman to materialize behind through some fog. They both had logia, one was the Moku Moku no mi while the other was the Kasu Kasu no mi. Jessie grabbed Ash before throwing him through some tables and crashing into another wall.
"Gum Gum bazooka" Ash's arms just phased through Jessie's body as it turned into mist. She then punched him before kicking him in the gut with Haki sending him flying into the counter before his body tumbled over it and landed on the other side.
"We only need to use Pokemon if we encounter other trainers. But for another devil fruit user then we get to use our devil fruits" Jessie explained as she put her foot on Ash's face while putting more force into keeping his face on the ground.
"Gum Gum battle axe" Ash shot his leg up before slamming it down. This let him escape but he saw that Jessie and James were completely unscathed. Ash was getting his ass handed to him and he had nothing that allowed him to harm them.
"I think it's time that I get the hell out of dodge" Ash began to retreat but Jessie turned into mist before reappearing before him. Blidesiding Ash with a blast of mist that threw him across the room before James grabbed him with smoke and began bashing him into the floor repeatedly. He then threw Ash across the room again and into the area with the computer phones. James then grabbed him by the head and slammed him into the wall.
"Did you honestly think you could beat us?" James smirked.
"Let's just kill him and the nurse already," Jessie said standing behind him.
"Good idea, time to send you to the afterlife kid" James grabbed a knife from his pocket before beginning to send it into Ash's throat before a psychic barrier appeared saving Ash's life. Walking through the door was none other than Giovanni himself with his Persian walking right next to him.
"To think that Team Rocket had the gall to attack a Pokemon center in my city. Then trying to murder an innocent kid on top of that" Giovanni's face contorted with rage.
"Sir be careful they have logias" Ash yelled.
"I see and to use their abilities so blatantly as well" Giovanni then released his Nidoking.
"Both have devil fruits" He whispered to his Nidoking who nodded. Ash was then teleported behind Giovanni.
"Stay behind me kid" He ordered. Ash nodded.
"Ah, so can I use my devil fruit?" Ash asked.
"Which one do you have?" Giovanni asked.
"Gomu Gomu no mi" Ash answered.
"No you'll only be a liability" Giovanni responded, with that Giovanni released Rydon.
"Rhydon take care of the woman they have devil fruits" Giovanni then walked towards James who released smoke from his hands.
"Ah so you have a logia" Giovanni then prepared to use the full power of the Neko Neko no mi model Mewtwo.
"Yeah, so what" James growled.
"Let's see which is stronger, a logia or a legendary zoan" Giovanni grinned. James tried to attack but his whole body froze as Giovanni trapped him with psychic. James's body floated a couple of feet in the air before Giovanni pulled him closer and gave him a full-on gut punch infused with some psychic power and haki. This sent James flying backward as he coughed up some blood.
"The problem with Team Rocket is that they think themselves invincible," Giovanni said as he walked towards James who was getting up. James tried to envelop Giovanni in smoke but a psychic barrier contained it before it closed and trapped James in a large psychic bubble. Jessie meanwhile turned into a mist to launch an attack on Rhydon. Rhydon caught the attack with his fist before grabbing Jessie's arm and then threw her onto the floor. Jessie tried to get back up before Rhydon swung himself before slamming her in the gut with his tail. The wind got knocked out of her and she struggled to breathe. Some cuffs were slapped onto her before Rhydon also walked over to put some on James. Giovanni then walked over to Ash and began to look him over for wounds.
"You're lucky that you're devil fruit grants immunity to blunt force attacks" Giovanni sighed.
"You know about my devil fruit?" Ash asked.
"Of course, I make sure to know about all the devil fruits" Giovanni answered. Rhydon meanwhile walked over to Giovanni with two cuffed team rockets.
Several Hours later
The police arrived and so did several members of Dark Squad. Ash saw one woman in particular who seemed like she couldn't wait to kill the two rocket members. Honestly, she seemed unhinged and belonged in a mental ward instead.
"Are those people going to kill them?" Ash whispered.
"Yes the dark squad according to some are just murderers and serial killers with international law backing their actions" Giovanni explained while kneeling, patching Ash up.
"Sounds like you don't approve of them" Ash responded.
"I don't, they are just people who love killing people for some sadistic reason" Giovanni's face distorted at the thought. Ash decided to avoid antagonizing them if he wanted to live a long life.
"There you should be good to go but I would still get your wounds looked at a hospital. No need to risk infection" Giovanni got up and walked over to the police to give them a report while another police officer walked up to him.
"Hello my name is Jenny, do you mind if you give me a statement," Jenny asked Ash.
"Sure so what do you want to know exactly?" Ash asked.
"What happened exactly?" Jenny looked at Ash.
"Well, two members of Team Rocket attacked the Pokemon center looking for Pokemon to steal. They also had every intention to kill me and Nurse Joy" Ash explained.
"What Pokemon did they use?" Jenny asked.
"Uhmm well, they didn't" Ash responded wondering how he was going to dance around the fact that they had devil fruits.
"How did they attack the Pokemon center then"
"Well, I'm not sure I can say the reason why" Ash sweated bullets.
"Why?" Jenny raised an eyebrow at Ash.
"International law" Ash responded.
"Devil fruits?" Jenny whispered. Ash sighed with relief.
"Yes," Ash answered.
"Did you try to fight them?" Jenny continued.
"Yes, but I got my ass whooped considering they had logia's" Ash frowned.
"Did they injure your Pokemon severally?"
"My Pokemon didn't fight," Ash said.
"Then how did you fight them?" Ash pulled his cheek which stretched far more than what was normal for humans.
"Ah, I see" She got the hint that he had a devil fruit of his own.
"Is that everything?" Ash asked. Jenny nodded and then left. Ash meanwhile sighed and sat down on a nearby bench tired and ready to go to bed.
"You look tired, you should go to bed," Giovanni said to him as he left the building. Ash nodded and soon enough made his way to Nurse Joy got a key from her and then walked to his room. He showered, changed, and plopped down on the bed and went right to sleep.
The Next Day
Ash woke up and got his Pikachu and Pidgey from Joy and then left Pokemon Center and soon arrived at Viridian Forest.
"You ready Pikachu?" Ash asked looking at the Pokemon on his shoulder. Pikachu nodded in response and soon the duo walked into the forest and continued their journey. Who knows what they would find or come across?
With Jessie and James
Jessie and James just sat in the van being transported to their deaths. With sea prism stone cuffs on their wrists, they could do nothing more than just wait for their deaths. Or they would have been if it wasn't for a bit of insurance they had set up before the operation. They were both well aware of the penalty for getting caught and using their devil fruit powers in public. So they had something set up if they got themselves caught.
"This is Mewoth here get ready," Meowth said through a hidden earpiece they both had. Soon enough a group of team rocket grunts ambushed the van taking the dark squad inside completely by surprise.
"AMBUSH" The driver yelled before the van sunk into a hole dug by some Dugtrio. The Dark Squad soon responded to the grunts leaving Jessie and James alone. Meowth crept by the chaos and was able to, with the help of a machamp open the doors.
"Right on time Meowth" Jessie smirked.
"Indeed who knew that revenge would be such a powerful motivator" Meowth stated as he unlocked their cuffs with his claws.
"Indeed, that was the whole point of the operation" James stated. Getting caught was part of the operation which would allow Team Rocket to kill some dark squad members in retribution for all the Team Rocket members they killed.
Meanwhile
"Sir Jessie and James's squads have engaged the enemy" A grunt reported.
"Good do we have all the information from Giovanni's gym?"
"Yes sir we know what his devil fruit is as well as confirmed sightings of other devil fruits in Kanto"
"What about their supposed secret vault?"
"We have managed to hack into the League's system through Giovanni's gym. While it did take a while to hack in thanks to Jessie and James's attack on the Pokemon center, Giovanni took his most powerful Pokemon with him. We know where the vault is and what devil fruits are waiting to be transferred"
"Good" The man smiled.
