Well, here I finished chapter 5 finally, my main problem is distractions, video games and other fanfics mostly and also of course my procrastination when I get stuck.
And also I recommend going back and reading the fic again because I am editing out the NSL stuff as well as a few others, so for this chapter to make sense you might want to go back and read it
Lastly to the Guest about the luck fruit, someone in One Piece already has it, even if it is hard to put on the timeline thanks to the Wano arc.

Lincoln to take off into the air but couldn't get off the ground as everyone watched awkwardly. Then Bluejam just laughed at the display and said, "Did you really think you could learn to fly to easily?"
"No," said Lincoln, "That is why I'm mainly a diversion."
"Diversion?" asked Bluejam just then he heard a cry of pain and saw that Saga, Zoro and Kuina had resumed fighting his crew members and they were winning
"Wow, must be embarrassing to have a crew that gets their asses kicked by little kids...twice " said Lincoln smugly.
"You little punk," said Bluejam and he drew his sword to charge...only for a rock to hit him on the head.
Bluejam was surprised he looked at Lincoln, who had changed back to normal, was picking up more rocks and throwing them at Bluejam with little affect
"This is your big game," said Bluejam then one rock hit him in the eye causing him to cry in pain, "THAT'S IT!"
"You want me, come and get me!" said Lincoln as he took off running as Bluejam chased after him.
"Lincoln!" shouted Kuina as she tried to follow but a pirate blocked her path and tried to strike her with a sword, but she was able to block it.
"Damn it," said Zoro struggling with his own.
"Let's hope he can last until he beat these guys," said Saga cutting down another pirate.
Just then someone zoomed in and cut down all the pirates left and right and they all fell to the ground, the three looked in shock until they saw who it was that came to save them as the light reflected off of his glasses.
-With Lincoln
Lincoln kept running through the woods as fast as he could, ducking behind trees and bushes as he checked to see if Bluejam was still chasing him and unfortunately, he was and screaming as well.
"Of all the devil fruits, it had to be a Zoan?" asked Lincoln to himself.
He dove into the bushes and crawled till he was behind a tree and covered his mouth waited to see if Bluejam lost sight of him, Bluejam looked around the area and Lincoln felt he was getting closer.
'What am I going to do?' thought Lincoln, 'I can't fight him like this and I only just got this fruit. The best bet is to run until the others find me.'
"You think you can keep running?!" shouted Bluejam, "I already let three kids get away from me! I'm not about to let a fourth one go as well!"
Lincoln closed his eyes and tried to change into his form but found he couldn't, he tried focusing harder but nothing happened, "What am I doing wrong?" asked Lincoln to himself.
"You really thought you could learn to transform on the first try?" said a voice behind him.
Lincoln turned and saw Bluejam standing over him and he said, "Should have kept running, you little bastard."
Lincoln was about to take off, but Bluejam grabbed him by the back of his shirt and brought him right up to his face, now Lincoln tried to concentrate harder but felt he could not change. He felt the horror and thought he was going to die but then he noticed something.
"Got any last words brat?" said Bluejam as he was about to bring the sword down onto Lincoln's head.
"Yes," said Lincoln, "Can your shirt protect you from bird talons?"
"What?" asked Bluejam
Lincoln then slashed his Bluejam with the talons that had grown out of his shoes, Bluejam let out a scream and dropped Lincoln who took off running. He was so focused on running he didn't notice that he was starting to change again and started growing a beak, and feathers started growing from his arms.
"You son of a-" began Bluejam holding his chest in pain as he took off running after Lincoln calling, "Get back here you, damn bird!"
Lincoln turned around and saw Bluejam was back to chasing him, he let out a scream of surprise but it came out as a birds call.
-With Zoro, Kuina and Saga
"Lincoln!" called Kuina.
"White haired kid!" shouted Saga.
"Would you guys be quiet!" said Zoro.
"But Lincoln is-" Kuina started.
"And if we keep this up, he is going to find us as well, we'll lose our element of surprise!" said Zoro.
"Then how do we find Lincoln?" said Kuina.
Just then they all heard a eagle cry and turned their heads in that direction as Saga asked, "Was that an eagle cry?"
"The Devil fruit?!" said Kuina, "That's why Lincoln looked like a bird when he attacked."
"Well, I think we found out how to find him, c'mon," said Saga and he took off running with Kuina following him...though Zoro had turned around and headed in the other direction.
Luckily Zoro bumped into someone who looked down at him and said, "I do believe the voice came from the other direction."
Zoro grumbled and turned around and headed where Kuina and Saga went with the other person following them, all unaware that a blue portal in the sky had opened up.
-With Lincoln
Lincoln kept running, without even realizing he had shifted into his hybrid form and had been trying to take off, he had hopped and hovered in the air for a while but always ended up landing.
"You think you can learn flight in time to escape me!" Bluejam shouted to as he chased still holding his bleeding stomach.
Lincoln ignored him and kept running and they soon exited the forest and, of course, it led to a cliff, which caused Lincoln to screech to a halt just before he went over the edge. He was about to turn around, but Bluejam had caught up with him and was now marching slowly towards him.
"You have nowhere to go now, you little bastard," he said, "Not unless you want to see if you can learn to fly on the first try."
Lincoln kept backing up but soon he was at the edge with nowhere to go, he could try and fly but he didn't know how and would probably just end up drowning cause of the devil fruit, if he ended up missing the rocks that is.
'So, this is how it ends?' thought Lincoln, 'No one is coming for me this time, I guess I have no choice but to force myself to learn how to fly.'
Lincoln was about to turn around and jump off the cliff but then they heard a cry of, "LINCOLN!"
Bluejam and Lincoln turned and saw Saga and Kuina coming out of the forest, with their swords drawn.
"What are you doing?" asked Lincoln.
"We're here to help!" said Saga.
"Then why did you give away your position and basically tell Bluejam where you are?" asked Lincoln
There was an awkward silence but then Saga facepalmed and Kuina just gave a sheepish look, even Bluejam had to say, "Wow, even I have to agree with the kid that was just stupid."
"Yeah, almost as bad as Zoro coming out from over there," Lincoln points to the right and Bluejam turns and actually saw no one coming out.
"Kid there is no one-" Bluejam began when he suddenly felt a pain in his side, he turned and saw Zoro had slashed his side and now stood protectively in front of Lincoln.
"And you fell for that pretty easily," said Lincoln.
"Okay, that's it! You kids die!" Bluejam said as he was about to charge but then another sword appeared in front of him.
"So, I'm guessing you heard my calls as well?" asked Lincoln to the one who showed up.
"That is correct white haired one," said the sensei.
"You think I give a shit about some old man?" asked an angry Bluejam.
"No," said the sensei before he appeared behind Bluejam and resheathed his sword, "But you will in a few seconds."
"What the? When did you-" but that was all Bluejam said before a long appeared across his chest and he fell to the ground passed out.
"Thank you, Mr.," said Lincoln before realizing he forgot and/or never looked up the name of Kuina's dad.
"The names Koushirou," he said, "And consider it a thanks for saving my daughter.
"You're welcome," said Lincoln, "Now is there a bounty office in town."
"There is. Why?" asked Koushirou.
"This guy is a wanted pirate, you can turn him in a get the money," said Lincoln, "You might get more since most people thought he died in the grey terminal fire."
"You think I will let you just-" said Bluejam before suddenly feeling a great pain below his belt.
The other looked and saw Lincoln hand changed into his hybrid form and slashed at Bluejam below the belt, Bluejam let out a scream in pain and fell to the ground yelling in agony. The other looked at Lincoln, who changed back, and said, "What? I grew up with ten sisters, that is our main defense mechanism, second of all...pirate."
Later-
The group returned to town and after getting back the money they got for the treasure, dragged Bluejam and the rest of his crew to the bounty offices, to say that the receptionist was surprised was putting it mildly. They quickly got Bluejam and his crew tied up and paid Koushirou Bluejam's bounty plus a bonus since it was believed that he was dead. This allowed the group to leave with a total of 10,000,000 berris.
"I knew there would be a bonus, but I didn't know it would be this much," said Lincoln.
"Yes, this money will help our dojo out very much," said Koushirou.
"You sure you don't want a cut?" asked Saga, "You did help."
"Nah, it's fine," said Lincoln, "I'll be leaving with six million berris anyway."
"Only six million?" shouted Saga, Kuina and Zoro.
"How is that fair?" asked Kuina.
"The deal was that if you and Zoro got me to the pawnbroker before the afternoon, I would give you half," said Lincoln holding up a briefcase with six million in it, "A deal's a deal."
Kuina took the briefcase, but it just didn't feel right to her, she was about to say something when Lincoln asked, "But if you guys do want to do something for me, I don't suppose I could have anything to eat on my journey back through the forest to my teacher?"
"Sure, come with us to the Dojo and will get you some food and water," said Koushirou.
"Thank you," said Lincoln.
The group made their way to the Dojo and supplied Lincoln with water and rice balls, as well as a backpack. Zoro and Kuina still wanted to talk to Lincoln, so it was agreed that they would walk with Lincoln to the edge of the forest after that he was on his own. Lincoln said goodbye to Saga and Koushirou and him, Zoro and Kuina walked to the forest.
"Okay, when we get to the forest edge, I will explain everything," said Lincoln.
"Nice to see you keep your word," said Zoro with a smile.
Lincoln nodded and they continued on their way, after a few minutes they made it to the edge of the forest. Lincoln sighed and turned around and stared at Zoro and Kuina
"Now promise me you won't freak out?" asked Lincoln.
"What could you say to make us freak out?" asked Kuina.
"Well..." Lincoln started.
One Explanation Later-
"You actually expect us to believe that you're from a world where we are a comic book?" asked Zoro.
"Manga," said Lincoln.
"Whatever," said Zoro.
"I have to side with Zoro on this," said Kuina, "Do you have any proof?"
Lincoln was about to say something but then he saw Zoro and Kuina's mouths had dropped and asked, "What?"
Zoro and Kuina were about to say something when Lincoln heard, "Lincoln!"
Lincoln turned around and to his surprise he saw Lisa standing behind him with an open portal, the rest of the family behind him with looks of relief on their faces.
"Guys, is that you?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes, Lincoln it is us," said Luna happily.
"Uh, Lincoln who are they?" asked Kuina.
"And Lincoln, who are they?" asked Rita.
"Well Zoro and Kuina, this is my family," said Lincoln, "These are my sisters and parents and guys you might know Zoro and Kuina from the manga One Piece."
"I knew it!" said Lisa thrilled, "You got sent to a world where media is reality!"
"Lisa!" everyone shouted.
"Oh sorry," said Lisa.
"So, you were telling the truth", said Zoro.
"Yes," said Lincoln.
"Okay, we believe you," said Kuina shocked.
"Okay, so I am guessing you guys are coming to bring me home," said Lincoln.
"Yes Lincoln, now come on," said Rita.
"Actually mother," started Lisa, "I only got the viewership up."
"So then just set it to 'travel' and get him back," said Lola.
"I'm sorry but right now that's not possible," said Lisa.
"What do you mean?" asked Lynn Jr.
"Watch," said Lisa as she took out a fly and a rock and threw them into the portal, while the rock passed through just fine...the fly burned to crisp until there was nothing left, "I'm afraid that you're travel to this world Lincoln, as well as the fact Morag's crystal powered it, overloaded the portal device, while the viewing will still work, the sad fact is if you tried to come through now you will be burned to a crisp."
"So, I'm still stuck here?" asked Lincoln.
"But that's okay Lincoln," said Leni, "I'm sure Lisa will fix it soon and you will be home in no time."
"I'm sorry to say that is not likely to happen," said Lisa.
"Why?" said Rita getting nervous.
"Because to get the part I needed for dimensional travel I had to call in a ton of favors from NASA and the CIA to get ahead on the wait list for the part," said Lisa, "And I didn't think my first attempt would be to travel to a world where a form of media was real, and Morag's crystal overcharged the machine. I was lucky just to get view and communications back online."
"Then it shouldn't be too hard, right?" asked Zoro taking this nonchalantly.
"Yeah, dude," said Luna, "Just order the new part, how long is the wait list."
"It can't be that long, right?" asked Kuina but a little nervous.
Lisa remained quiet which caused everyone to get very scared and Lily even said sadly, "Lisa?"
"I'm afraid I will have to put myself on the wait list for a new part...and I would be able to get it until close to the end of the decade, if I'm lucky" said Lisa starting to tear up.
"WHAT?" shouted everyone including Zoro and Kuina.
"So, I'm stuck her for almost a decade?!" shouted Lincoln in shock.
"I'm sorry!" said Lisa crying.
The Louds broke down crying and hugged each other as Lincoln fell to his knees grabbing the grass as tears rolled down his cheeks, Kuina came over and hugged him as tears rolled down her face until they all heard, "SHUT UP!"
They all turned and looked at Zoro who was getting annoyed, "Crying about this won't change anything, you, Glasses girl! Stop whining and try and think of a way to upgrade the machine so you can get your brother back, you want him to come home, don't you?!"
Kuina then pulled Zoro's cheeks angrily and said, "Learn to read the room!"
"Yeah, jerk!" said Lola.
"Meanie," said Lily.
"Stop," said Lisa clearing her eyes, "He's right I will work on a way to get back, I promise."
Everyone smiled and Zoro said, "That's more like it, plus can't you check on him whenever you want with this portal device."
"He has a point there," said Lana.
"Yeah, the swordsman has a 'point'," said Luan laughing as everyone but Lynn Sr. groaned.
"Also, items can pass through fine," said Kuina, "So, you can send Lincoln stuff that will help him."
"Perfect!" said Lori happily, "That is literally brilliant!"
"May be able to help with the bird thing," Zoro suggested.
Everyone suddenly froze, Lincoln looked very nervous as his family stared at him with an angry and suspicious look, except Lily who just looked curious, his mother asked, "Lincoln, what is he talking about?"
"Um..." said Lincoln.
Just then they heard a door open and something coming down the stairs of the basement and a voice called out, "Mom, I'm here! So are the Casagrandes!"
"Lori?" Lincoln asked.
"Lincoln?!" said Lori looking at the portal as the Casagrandes and the McBrides came down the stairs.
"Lame-O!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Where are you?" asked Clyde, "And why is there a young Zoro and Kuina standing behind you."
Lincoln facepalmed and turned to look at Zoro and Kuina and said, "Sorry it looks like we are going to be here awhile."
Zoro facepalms and Kuina just smiles awkwardly as Lincoln once again explained what had happened and this time, he had to include the fact he had eaten a devil fruit in order to help Zoro and Kuina out as well as their friend Saga.
"You mean to tell me that you ate a fruit that turns you into a Bald eagle and some sick hybrid, but in exchange you lost the ability to swim?!" shouted Lori in shock and anger.
"I thought he was stating the obvious," said Zoro.
"Shut up!" said Kuina slapping his chest.
"Lincoln, what were you thinking?!" asked Rita.
"What else was I supposed to do, let Zoro, Kuina and Saga die?" asked Lincoln.
"Well, uh," said Rita unable to come up with anything.
"Well, I think it's cool," said Lana.
"You would," said Lola deadpanning
"Can you change into it, Lincoln?" asked CJ.
"CJ!" shouted Frida.
"What? We want to see him transform," said Carl.
"This isn't funny," said Rosa.
"Yeah, it's cool!" said Carl.
"Chihuahua," Hector sighed.
As this was going on Lincoln, Zoro and Kuina watched on with sweat drops on their heads, Kuina asked, "Is it always-"
"Yes!" said Lincoln, "And my family is like this as well."
"Just show them so they will shut up," said Zoro.
Lincoln nods his head and turns to his family. He clears his throat and then lets out a whistle. Everyone looks at him, then he closes his eyes, and the feathers start to around him, his white hair changes into feathers and grows down to his neck, his nose and mouth merge into a yellow beak, he starts growing until his towering over Leni, his feet start to grow talons and change yellow.
"Well, what do you think?" asked Lincoln.
"You look so cool!" said Lana.
"Agreed!" said Carl.
"You look cool, Lame-O!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Talk about giving us the bird," said Luan as she laughed.
"Birdy," said Lily and Carlitos.
Lynn sr. fainted at what he saw, Rita was surprised as were the rest of the adults were fully surprised as Leni said, "I love you're feathers Linky."
"Thanks," said Lincoln as he changed back.
"Well, is there any way to get rid of this?" asked Lori.
"Not unless I die," said Lincoln.
"What?!" shouted the Louds.
"Yeah, devil fruits don't leave the body until after the user dies and then afterwards, they reincarnate into the nearest fruit," said Lincoln.
"Oh great," said Lori, "So, even if he comes home my brother will be treated like a freak."
"If I studied a devil fruit I could possibly work on a cure," said Lisa.
Lincoln then a familiar box out of his backpack, opens it and says, "You mean like these?"
"You have two others?!" shouted Clyde and Ronnie Anne.
"Yep," said Lincoln, "And I would be happy to give them to you Lisa...
"Thank you, Linc-" Lisa, started before Lincoln interrupted, "But I need you to do something for me first."
"What? Lincoln!" said Rita, "Give your sister those fruits this instant!"
"Sorry mom," said Lincoln, "But if I am going to be stuck here for almost a decade, I have to follow the story for the best chance of survival and I already mixed it up a little by saving Kuina's life."
"What?" asked Kuina in shock.
"Plus, Lisa be honest if I just gave you these fruits and then told to do this favor would you still do it?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes," said Lisa.
Lincoln turns to Lola and Carl, "Lola, Carl is she telling the truth?"
"No," said Lola and Carl at the same time.
"Dang it," said Lisa.
"So, any way Lisa, here is what I want you to do, but first I ask can you view other anime worlds without overloading the machine?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes, I can," said Lisa.
"Then I need some pencil and paper, first," said Lincoln
Leni throws a pencil and paper into the portal and Lincoln picks it up, "Thanks Leni."
"You're welcome," she said with a smile.
Lincoln wrote it down on the paper and threw it at Lisa, who caught it, "It's a miracle!" said Lynn jr.
"Ha, ha," said Lisa sarcastically as she read the paper then looked at Lincoln, "So if I do this you will give me the fruits?"
"Yes," said Lincoln as he took off the watch and threw it at Lisa, "And you're going to need that, but you need to charge that watch first."
"Okay, we'll be back," said Lisa.
"Wait, what? Li-" said Clyde but then the portal closed.
"Okay, now we wait," said Lincoln.
"What was that about?" asked Zoro.
"Something I want to give you guys as thanks for helping me out," said Lincoln.
"What do you mean I was supposed to die?" asked Kuina.
Lincoln gave a solemn look to Kuina and said, "I meant what I said, you were supposed to die yesterday falling down those stairs."
Kuina and Zoro looked in shock at what they heard as Lincoln continued, "And when I learned I arrived at that point, I had my teacher bring me her since I knew you guys were on the same island as my captain, I had to come here and try to save you."
"Why though?" asked Kuina.
"Because of him," said Lincoln pointing to Zoro.
"Me?" asked Zoro.
"When Kuina died you were heart broken, especially since she died the day after you guys made the promise," said Lincoln.
"That's explains the question yesterday," said Zoro in shock.
"Yes, I had to save her," said Lincoln to Zoro, "Because I know that is something that was tormenting you, so even if you become the world's greatest swordsman, it would only be by default."
Zoro looked down in sadness as he knew Lincoln was right, but a question entered his head, "How do you know that?"
"Zoro," started Kuina, "He's from a world where we are a comic book, of course he would know."
"But that would mean the comic focused on me and since it's about his captain, that means I end up joining the crew, don't I?" asked Zoro.
Lincoln went wide eyed, as did Kuina, as Lincoln thought, 'Okay, seriously Nami, this guy is supposed to be an idiot?'
"I'll take your silence as a, yes?" asked Zoro.
Lincoln sighed and said, "Yes, you're going to become our first mate."
"Him? The first mate?" asked Kuina in shock.
Before Zoro could retort Lincoln said, "He will be the second strongest next to the captain, it makes sense that he'd be the first mate."
"Don't suppose you would take me to meet him?" asked Zoro.
"No," said Lincoln.
"What do you mean, no?" asked Zoro.
"I'm sorry, but I have already informed my captain, what I am and where I come from and he has already ordered no spoilers and bringing you to meet him would just be a massive spoiler as they come, plus there is a chance that doing so will remove the adventure that recruited you in the first place," said Lincoln.
"Well, too bad I'm meeting him now!" said Zoro.
"So am I!" said Kuina.
"Guys, this is not up for-" said Lincoln before realizing what Kuina said, "Wait, what?"
"You heard me," said Kuina, "I want to meet Zoro's future captain."
"Who says he's going to be my captain?" asked Zoro.
"That," said Lincoln sternly, "Right there! That is why you can't meet him!"
"Huh?" asked both Zoro and Kuina confused.
"I may have already prevented one of my favorite crew members from joining the crew," said Lincoln, "That is why you can't meet my captain now!"
"Your favorite?" said Zoro.
"One of my favorites Zoro," said Lincoln, "You are one of my favorites of the crew, but now with you questioning if you'll join, this is why I can't have you meet him!"
"What's my excuse?!" asked Kuina.
Before Lincoln could respond the portal reopened and the Louds, McBrides' and Casagrandes looked at the scene as Rita asked, "Is everything ok?"
"Yes, just a small disagreement," said Lincoln, "So Lisa, did you get the stuff I asked for?"
"Yes, I did," said Lisa, "It took great stealth, but I was able to copy the sword you wanted and got that swordsman to write down the scroll you wanted."
"What are they talking about?" asked Zoro still a bit annoyed.
"Well, Zoro, by saving Kuina this means you won't get Wado as your sword," said Lincoln.
"He was going to have what?" asked Kuina in shock looking at Zoro.
"After your death, Zoro asked your father to give him your sword," said Lincoln.
"Why?" asked Kuina.
"So, that way you could both be the world's greatest swordsman since it was your sword," said Lincoln.
"Aww," said everyone watching.
Zoro blushed as Kuina looked at him with a smile as Lincoln continued, "Anyway, since you won't be getting it in this timeline, but you still want to create three sword style, I sent Lisa to observe another world called Bleach and had her scan and copy a sword, minus the abilities it had."
Lincoln held out the sword to Zoro. The blade was long, and the guard was shaped like a rigid, crooked S, while the sheath and handle were light blue.
"This sword is called Pantera," said Lincoln, "It doesn't have any of the abilities that come with and will stay in its sword form."
Zoro took the sword and looked it over, after a while he said, "This sword feels...determined and hungry. I'll take it."
"Glad you like it," said Lincoln with a smile.
"I'm guessing that scroll is for me?" asked Kuina.
"Yes, since you feel a woman can't be as strong as a man," Lincoln started before all the woman watching interrupted with a "WHAT?!"
"What kind of bullshit is that?!" shouted Ronnie Anne...but then got hit by Rosa's shoe.
"Language!" said Rosa.
"Guys, we don't have time for this kind of thing, even though I agree with you," said Lincoln before turning back to Kuina and handing her the scroll, "So I had Lisa copy a sword fighting style that focus on speed, agility and reflexes. It's called Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū."
Kuina takes the scroll as Lincoln turns back to his family and gives the box with the two remaining devil fruits to Lisa, "A deal is a deal and I know you will be able to-"
Just the portal started to get fuzzy as Lincoln looked shocked as Kuina asked, "What's happening?"
"The Crystal's power is draining, it will shut down soon!" shouted Lucy.
"No!" shouted the Louds.
"Lincoln!" cried Ronnie Anne and Clyde.
"Don't worry guys!" shouted Lincoln, "I'll be home, just live your lives until I get back and tell the others I will be back, I promise!"
"Winky!" said Lily tearing up.
"Just remember what I taught you Lily and I love you, little sis," said Lincoln.
"I'll recharge the crystal Lincoln and we'll contact you when we can," said Lucy.
"And I will find a way to make to portal strong enough to get you home, no matter how many years it takes!" shouted Lisa.
"I know you both will," said Lincoln with a smile, "I'm proud of all of you."
With that the portal closed, leaving Lincoln, Zoro and Kuina alone.
(The Basement)
"Lisa," started Rita, "Are you sure?"
"Yes," said Lisa with certainty while holding the box, "I will make the portal strong enough to get my brother home and find a cure for devil fruits."
"And I will get the ingredients needed to recharge the crystal," said Lucy making her way up the stairs.
"I'll help," said Rosa as she followed.
The rest soon began leaving the basement with great sadness, Ronnie Anne was being comforted by her mother, Clyde with his dad and Bobby was doing his best to comfort Lori. Soon only Lisa, Lily and the Loud parents were still down there.
"Luffy, pwease help Lincoln," said Lily as she sadly looked at the portal.
"Don't worry Lily," said Rita, "I'm sure Lincoln will be safe with his new friends."
"Dang it!" said Lisa causing everyone to look at her, "I forgot to give Lincoln back the watch
"Don't worry," said Lynn Sr. patting Lisa on the back, "I'm sure he is talking strategy with those two right now."
(Dawn island, Forest entrance)
"For the last time, you can't meet my captain yet!" said Lincoln.
"And I say I will," said Zoro angrily.
"Did you not hear what I said," said Lincoln, "The captain wants no spoilers on who the crew members will be and now you're already questioning joining, I am not going to make matters worse!"
"He's already going to a pirate, why would I join anyway?" asked Zoro.
"You will see in nine years' time," said Lincoln, "And with the other stuff I plan to change I don't need what is going on right now to happen again."
"And my excuse for not meeting him?" asked Kuina.
"Because I know you," said Lincoln, "As soon as you meet him and then come back, you and Zoro will keep doing your usual style of you beating him and taunting him, only this time you will throw in about how my captain will want you as the first mate and not him, how he is getting stronger and will leave you behind further..."
"Okay, Okay. I get it," said Kuina annoyed, "But I would just do that anyway, so what difference would it make?"
"Because unless you meet him, you can't back it up," said Lincoln.
"Huh?" asked Zoro and Kuina in confusion.
"To quote a boxer for my world, Mohammed Ali, 'It's not bragging if you can back it up' said Lincoln, "And while you are a bragger Kuina, you at least have the skills to back it up, if you don't meet my captain though you can't back it up."
With that it was quiet, they didn't say anything as Lincoln nodded and was about to turn around and walk away when he heard, "I will find him and you."
Lincoln stopped and turned and saw Zoro looking at him with determination, "If this guy is supposed to be someone great enough to guide to accomplishing my dream...then I will seek you both out and see if he is really what you claim and you will not stop me!"
"Zoro," said Kuina stunned before gaining determination herself and looking at Lincoln, "And if you think you can just leave my life after saving it, you've got another thing coming! I will find you and your captain no matter what!"
Lincoln looked at them in stunned shock and thought, 'Hasn't even joined, yet they both already speak with that Straw Hat determination.'
Lincoln sighed and said, "Alright, how about another deal?"
Zoro and Kuina look at him no confused, "I can already see even though I am good with convincing I can't stop you guys from trying, so if you guys really want this, I can at least give you guys a sporting chance."
"And that is?" asked Zoro.
"As I have told you about my mentor's trail for me, I may as well give you one," said Lincoln, "Given how I have six days left to get back, I ask you guys to give me that long before you start going into the forest to try and find me, if you can find in their before the rest of the 9 years are up, I will introduce to my captain."
"Okay that sounds..." said Kuina.
"But keep in mind that time you spend searching for me and my captain, will be time wasted when you could be training in swordsmanship, and my captain plans to set sail when he turns 17 and right now, given the time stamp, even though I don't know the exact date he is eight years old, and his birthday is May 5th," said Lincoln.
They both went quiet as Lincoln continued, "And while I don't know when either of would decide to go a search for Mihawk, just remember the more search for us the more time you waste getting ready for him. So do we have a deal?"
Zoro and Kuina looked at each other then turned back to Lincoln and said, "Deal."
"Then I wish you both the best of luck and don't shirk your training," said Lincoln.
They nodded and Lincoln turned around, picked up the briefcase and walked into the forest disappearing from their site. The two then turned and walked back to the Dojo thinking about what Lincoln said, wondering if they could even find him and his captain in that big of a forest, then Kuina smirked.
"What's with that look?" asked Zoro.
"I think I have an idea on how to find them," said Kuina.
(Two Day later)
'Man, this place is further away than I thought,' thought Lincoln to himself.
Lincoln had been roaming the forest for the past two days. He spent most the day walking down the path he remembered Garp had taken, he also made sure to hide when he saw dangerous animals, lucky he hadn't seen the bear and the tiger this time. He spent nights mostly in caves he found, eating the food that the Dojo had left for him. It was through this that he found the Dojo had snuck some of Bluejam's bounty into his bag, so he was going back with about 11,000,000 berris.
On his first, or as he guesses his second day, out in the forest, he tried practicing his devil fruit powers by turning his feet into talons and trying to catch some fish from a river he found. It took a few hours, but he was able to catch some. He also worked on turning only his eyes into eagle eyes, so far, he couldn't do just the eyes and kept shifting into his hybrid form, but he was able to see an insanely great distance.
Still though he began to feel he had got lost and given that he only had till midday or the add-on to the bet would be terminated, he felt he needed to hurry. So, he did the only thing he could 'logically think of at this point...climb a tree in hybrid form.
Lincoln grunted and groaned, as he used his talons and his arms to climb the tree. After, he made it to the top, he looked around and to his shock he not only saw a cliff on the path he was heading, but a few miles away from the cliff, he saw them.
"Yes!" shouted Lincoln, "Now I just have to-"
Suddenly there was a loud crack and he looked down and saw the tree branch he was on was starting to crack and only one thought past through his head, 'Uh-oh.' and with that the branch broke and he fell.
(Later at the Campsite)
"Well looks like he won't make it in time," said Garp.
"Dang it," said Ace.
"Nah, he'll make it," said Luffy smiling.
"How do you know?" asked Ace.
"I just do," said Luffy.
Garp looks up at the sun and says, "Well he only has 2 minutes left."
"I guess we won't be learning those cool moves," said Ace sadly.
"We will," said Luffy still smiling cheekily.
They waited a while and then they heard a rustling sound coming from the bushes, Garp stands up and gets ready as...Lincoln steps out looking bruised, limping and has a black eye.
"Wow, kid what happened to you," said Garp.
"Well..." Lincoln started.
(Flashback)
As the branch broke, Lincoln closed his eyes and just waited to hit the ground, but noticed he wasn't falling as fast. He opened his eyes and saw that he was gliding down a bit, he sighed in relief and took this as a moment to practice. Lincoln swerved in the air and almost fell before composing himself as he headed for the cliff. He landed and looked down.
"Okay, let's do that again!" said Lincoln in excitement.
So, Lincoln jumped down the cliff and glided down, but what he didn't count on was a powerful wind to suddenly hit and blew at him. He screamed as he was, pun intended, sent flying and hit the top of a tree and, yeah you can see where this is going.
"AH! OH! AH E! I! O! U! AND! SOME! TIMES! Y!" shouted Lincoln as he fell to the ground hitting a bunch of branches along the way, luckily, he was still in hybrid form and a bush broke his fall.
"Ugh!" said Lincoln getting up in great pain, "Well I made it this fair, might as well limp the rest of the way."
Lincoln to out some of the food from his backpack, with great pain and even though some of it was crushed, and limped the rest of the way to the camp in the direction he saw it in.
(Flashback end)
"And now I'm here," said Lincoln before he fell to the ground.
"Well, you did good kid only a minute to spare," sighed Garp, "So a deal is a deal I will teach of you two of the six powers."
"Okay before I pass out, I call the Shigan," said Lincoln and then he passed out.
"Tough, but still wimpy," said Ace.
"Yeah, this is going to be pretty hard, entirely for him" said Garp.
"He'll be fine," said Luffy.
"So, what powers do you want kids want to learn?" asked Garp as he went to start treating Lincoln.
"I'll let Lincoln decide when he wakes up," said Luffy.
"Might as well do the same," said Ace.
(Inside Lincoln's head)
"Hey guys, I suppose you are wondering why I am in my mindscape and why I am talking to you after so long," said Lincoln to the audience, "Well, it's because I heard what Luffy and Ace are saying outside of this, and I want your guy's opinion which of the Six Powers should Luffy and Ace learn and what final power should I have? Let me know what you guys think."
DONE! DONE! DONE! FINALLY DONE! It took me so long to finish this chapter, after being stuck on how to continue, countless rewrites, I have finally finished as well as updated my entire fic to edit out NSL. Still hated that I had to do that. Hope this fic was worth the wait.
Also, for Lincoln's fourth wall break I will set up a poll with the remaing six powers, the two highest votes will go to Luffy, the two second lowest will go to Ace and the lowest vote will go to Lincoln. So cast vote when ready.
