Chapter Three: Switch

"Shush! She's still asleep?" The voice of Tarna had woken Alessia up as she leaned up and looked over across her friend's bed.
"Is it dawn already?" Alessia asked in a whisper.
"Yes. It's the weekend though. Lanfear Sedai wants to take the Novices outside the gates to test their strengths.
"Oh." Was all Alessia could say. She frowned at this. How was she going to be able to test her strength when she couldn't channel it? "Why didn't you wake me up?" Alessia asked as she got out of bed to change as did her two friends.
"You looked like you needed sleep." Tarna spoke.
"Yes, but she has to be up at dawn either way." Jane spoke to remind Tarna of the rules.
"It's okay. I'll figure something out." Alessia spoke as she finished changing. Tarna was now doing her hair. She felt uneasy at this but decided she needed her hair up. Smiling at her handi work while putting her bag strap over her shoulder.
"Chores soon. I should go put my stuff up." Alessia spoke as her friends smiled.
"We'll come." Jane spoke. Alessia smiled and took the lead from the room. Making her way down the hallways. Seeing the Tower was wide awake as several women walked around to get to their daily duties. Alessia smiled softly as she leaned against the rail to look down the center. Seeing the men sparring again. 'This early?' She thought while hearing some giggling. She turned to see Tarna smiling while watching. Alessia rolled her eyes and shook her head with a smile.
How is Melinda Sedai?" Tarna asked Jane. Alessia raised a brow and looked at her friend. Seeing she was full on blushing.
"Who is Melinda Sedai?" Alessia asked while smiling at her friend.
"She's a newly raised Aes Sedai a few years ago. She took Jane under her wing." Tarna spoke. Alessia's jaw was hanging at this.
"What does that mean? To be taken under the wing?" Alessia asked.
"It's like a pillow friend but more serious." Tarna spoke.
"What's a pillow friend?" Alessia asked just in time for Alanna to walk up to them.
"A very close friend that you both talk about things with and help each other with tensions." Alanna spoke as all three of them jumped and gave the woman a bow. "To be taken under the wing of a sister is more serious. It usually lasts even after raising to the shawl. So, be warned and be careful. It is to not be taken lightly." Alanna warned Alessia who nodded her head. Watching the woman take her leave. Being followed by two men.
"Why does she have two men following her?" Alessia asked once she was out of sight.
"They are her warders. Some have more than one. Alanna loves both of them." Jane explained. Alessia however was smiling at her friend with a stupid smile. "Stop!" Jane shouted as Tarna and Alessia started laughing. Following Jane as she was mumbling under her breath. Alessia was looking around their surroundings again and hummed softly. Seeing someone watching them again. She waved at the woman and to her surprise, Lillen nodded at her once.
"Alessia dear." Moiraine's voice spoke as the three of them turned around. Seeing the woman gracefully walk up to them. Alessia felt her heart skip a beat. Pushing the feeling back as she gave the woman a bow. "Come find me after morning chores. There is something I wish to try." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded. Watching the woman take her leave. Alessia was smiling softly while watching her go.
"I wonder what she wants you for." Jane spoke as she nudged Alessia who jumped and looked at her friend.
"No idea. Come on! I'm hungry." Alessia spoke as she was basically power walking towards the dining hall after putting her bag up. She wanted to check the library out after breakfast but now, Moiraine wanted a word.

"You were drooling." Jane whispered as Alessia looked up and raised a brow. She was eating toast with eggs. "I saw you watch Moiraine as she left." Jane added. Alessia shook her head with a smile and drank her water. She wasn't allowed to talk unless a sister asked her something. Now, her friend Jane was teasing her. Alessia rolled her eyes again. It seemed to be a habit of doing so now. They finished quickly as Alessia waved goodbye to them as she went to the kitchen. Seeing the other Novices. Trina and her gang included. Alessia frowned at this before walking over to the sink to start on the dishes. Hearing quiet giggles and laughs. Alessia was ignoring this to the best of her ability. She moved to the other side of the kitchen and was drying the dishes. Once done, she had the plates in her hands as she was going to put them up when all of sudden she was pushed to the side. Tripping as she fell down. There was a very loud echo through the kitchen to the hallways as the plates shattered everywhere. Broken glass shards everywhere. Alessia stood up and frowned. Hearing laughs as she glared at Trina. Hearing footsteps running as she looked over.
"Is everyone alright?" Sheriam's voice spoke. Lanfear, Lillen, and Moiraine were all standing nearby.
"Of course Sheriam Sedai. Alessia on the other hand. She is very clumsy." Trina spoke as they all bowed to the Mistress of Novices.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" Sheriam asked while looking at Alessia with a stern look. Alessia frowned.
"I didn't." Alessia began.
"Don't lie. We all saw it. Didn't we?" Trina asked as the other Novices all nodded their heads. All but one who was frowning.
"Get this mess cleaned up. Rest of you are done. Alessia will finish up the kitchen." Sheriam spoke. Alessia opened her mouth to protest but decided against it. Watching everyone take their leave. Moiraine came into the kitchen and placed a hand on Alessia's shoulder.
"Are you alright?" Moiraine asked.
"I'm fine, Moiraine Sedai. Just need to finish my chores." Alessia spoke. Her voice was almost cold. She regretted it immediately. She looked up and frowned as the blue eyes met hers. Feeling her shoulder rubbed. As if Moiraine knew how she was feeling.
"I see. Remember, come find me once you are done." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded. Not making eye contact. The woman in blue had taken her leave.
"Don't let them push you over." A soothing voice spoke. It was slow but, goddess protect! It was beautiful. Alessia looked up to see Lillen Sedai watching her. She nodded her head and grabbed a broom to sweep up. She watched the shards move on their own. Except she could see a weave being used. She looked up to see Lillen move her hand once. It was so quick. She looked back to see the dishes on the counter. Unbroken and neatly stacked.
"Thank you Lillen Sedai!" Alessia gasped as she turned to thank the woman only to find her already gone. She frowned and grabbed the dishes to wash them again. She was glad the dishes were all that was left that she needed to do. She made a mental note to thank Lillen Sedai for what she did. Once she was done, she took her leave from the kitchen. Making sure she wasn't dirty after falling over. She brushed off her dress anywhere she could reach. It was still clean.

She pondered the hallways looking around. She couldn't seem to find Moiraine. Looking into the gardens to see her friends chattering away while working on a weave.
"Have you seen Moiraine Sedai?" Alessia asked as they looked up and shook their heads. Jane was frowning.
"What?" Alessia asked while rubbing her own arm.
"We heard what happened. Did you really break a stack full of plates?" Jane asked.
"No. Trina pushed me." Alessia spoke with a frown.
"I knew she was lying! You aren't the clumsy type." Jane spoke and sighed.
"I can't believe she would lie to Sheriam of all people." Tarna added.
"Are you really surprised?" Alessia asked as they shook their heads.
"I hope you got all the glass taken care of." Jane added.
"Lillen Sedai fixed the dishes for me before she left." Alessia added.
"Wait. Really?" Tarna asked as Alessia nodded her head. Seeing her friends look at each other again before looking at her.
"Normally any sister would just let the Novice clean it up on their own." Tarna spoke while placing a finger on her chin as she was in thought.
"Maybe she knew exactly what happened?" Alessia asked.
"Perhaps." Jane spoke and smiled. Alessia looked over her shoulder to see Alanna walking up to them. They bowed to her with a smile.
"Alessia dear. Moiraine sent me to find you. She got worried you were still cleaning. She's in the library." Alanna spoke.
"Thank you, Alanna Sedai." Alessia spoke as they watched Alanna take her leave.
"Suppose I should go and not keep her waiting." Alessia spoke.
"Good. Don't forget! Lanfear Sedai is taking the Novices soon!" Jane reminded her. Alessia frowned at her friend as she was walking away. She did not want to be reminded as she sighed. Taking her leave. She was glad that her friends believed her on what happened. She stopped when something caught her eye. She knelt down and placed her hand in front of it. Smiling as it crawled onto her hand. It was a small thin black spider with an hourglass on the bottom of it. She smiled as it crawled rather quickly across her hand. Not having any knowledge of spiders, it bit her. She gasped lightly and let the spider crawl onto the rail that was there to keep others from falling. Alessia frowned at the bite.
"That one is poisonous." A voice spoke calmly as she looked over. Seeing Lillen walk up to her and touch her hand. She gasped lightly at the touch. It sent a shockwave of sensation up her spine. She bit her tongue to keep from being obvious. Watching the woman hold her arm as she weaved. Healing the bite. There was no pain now.
"Thank you again Lillen Sedai." Alessia spoke softly and gave the woman a bow.
"You like spiders?" Lillen asked. She was very quiet in her words.
"Yes. They are misunderstood creatures." Alessia spoke softly. It seemed that was all. Watching the woman take her leave again. Now, she was very curious about Lillen Sedai. She turned back and made her way towards the library again.

Seeing Moiraine sitting at a table with a book out. Alessia walked up to her and bowed.
"I apologize for taking so long." Alessia spoke. Seeing the woman smile at her and waved to the seat across from her.
"No worries. Just wanted to make sure you weren't still cleaning." Moiraine chuckled.
"Alright." Alessia spoke as she sat down. Moiraine moved her seat in front of Alessia and pulled out what seemed to be a pendant. Seeing a blue stone in the center of it. She took Alessia's hand into her own and placed the pendant into her palm. Gem facing upwards.
"I want you to focus on the stone and only the stone." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded her head. Her eyes were on the stone only.
"Now, I want you to imagine yourself floating in a river as it slowly drifts you calmly away from any worries you have." Moiraine spoke. Alessia finally understood what Moiraine was doing. She was trying to help. She took a deep breath and let herself go as she was looking at the stone. Trying to imagine floating in a river. She could feel Moiraine using the One Power as there were small swirling around the stone then it was gone. Alessia frowned and looked at Moiraine.
"You are blocked my dear. Do not worry, we will help you get through it." Moiraine spoke as she cupped Alessia's cheek. "Don't forget, Lanfear is heading out soon." The woman added. So she was told. She frowned at this.
"Right." Alessia spoke as she moved away from the hand.
"What's on your mind dear?" Moiraine asked. Alessia looked at her. It seemed she was worried. "You know. You can talk to me about anything." Moiraine added.
"I'm alright." Alessia spoke softly. Seeing Moiraine frown at this. She wondered why this woman was helping her. Was there a motive or something else?
"Alright. Just know that I am here if you need anything. Anything at all." Moiraine added. Alessia nodded her head. Hearing a bell as she sighed.
"Time for you to go dear. Good luck." Moiraine spoke.
"Do I have to go?" Alessia asked as Moiraine nodded her head. Alessia stood up and gave Moiraine a bow before taking her leave. She felt frustrated with everything going on. She couldn't touch the Source. She had gotten into trouble because of Trina on the dishes. She didn't know if she could trust Moiraine or not. She was in deep thought as she bumped into someone. She looked up and felt her face turn dark pink from embarrassment.
"I am so sorry!" Alessia spoke as she gave the woman a bow.
"Just watch where you are going next time." The soothing voice spoke. Alessia couldn't tell if she was upset or not. She nodded her head at the woman.
"Come. Sister Lanfear is waiting. She wants sister Alanna and myself as well for safety reasons." Lillen spoke. Alessia nodded her head and followed. She was silent as her hands were behind her back as she looked up to see the other Novices whispering to each other in their ears. Alessia sighed. It felt like they were children.
"Glad you could join us Alessia. Come along." Lanfear spoke as Alessia was the last one to follow. Feeling a hand on her shoulder as she saw Alanna smile at her.
"Did you find sister Moiraine?" Alanna asked. Alessia nodded her head. Seeing that Lillen was listening in on them.
"She was trying to get me to focus on this pendant she had. Told me to imagine myself drifting on a river." Alessia spoke.
"Trying to get you to use your power." Alanna spoke as her warders were not far behind her. Alessia sighed a little. "What is it?" Alanna asked.
"Moiraine Sedai said I am blocked. It's not from stress." Alessia frowned as she was looking up ahead.
"If you are, we can help you get through it." Alanna spoke.

Alessia was standing away from the others at the back while watching Lanfear speak to Alanna about something. Seeing the warders take spots around them not far away.
"Gather." Lanfear spoke as they all did. They circled around Lanfear while listening. "This weave is simple. Simple but powerful. It is a weave of air. It allows us to see how strong you are." Lanfear spoke as she weaved the air. Creating a small blast from her. The air was strong. She was holding back.
"Lanfear Sedai, could you show us the extent of your power?" A girl spoke. Alessia recognized her this morning who didn't agree with Trina.
"I cannot, daughter Alice because some of you will take damage." Lanfear spoke. Alice. Her name she finally got. She decided she was going to talk to the girl later. They all seemed excited at this. Alessia stepped back and away again.
"Now, who wants to go first?" Lanfear asked. Alessia was surprised to see all of them raise their hands. Trina was picked first as she walked up to Lanfear and recreated the weave. Sending a blast strong enough as the wave went far. Almost reaching the warders.
"Not bad. Good job." Lanfear spoke. Seeing Trina smirk as she took her spot. Alessia watched as each girl recreated the weave. None of them managed to create the wave to go past the warders.
"Daughter Alessia." Lanfear spoke. Alessia frowned and gulped at this. She stood where she was. "Come up dear." Lanfear spoke. Alessia did. She walked up slowly and sighed a little. She was frowning as she stood there. Hearing a snort and laughter from the others.
"Recreate the weave." Lanfear spoke. Alessia shook her head. "Are you refusing?" Lanfear asked as she crossed her arms. Nearly towering over her.
"She can't do it!" Trina shouted. More laughing.
"Very well. Report to Sheriam Sedai once we get back." Lanfear spoke. Alessia nodded and bowed before taking her spot back in the back. She could feel eyes on her as she looked back down.
"Now, depending on how strong you are in the One Power, we have jobs specifically for each one. Some may join the Dragon on his team or some of you may go out into the world to work." Lanfear spoke. Hearing some excited whispering. Alessia felt defeated. To be on the Dragon's team, you have to be strong and willing to follow without question. Many were excited. The lesson was done as Lanfear led them back to the Tower. Still feeling defeated as she began to take her leave.
"Follow me." Lanfear spoke. Alessia nodded and kept her tongue as she followed the taller woman. Hre first weekend here and she was already in trouble. It was definitely not a good impression. She was silent as she followed down the hallways as they approached a door. Hearing a knock from Lanfear as Sheriam said to enter.
"Ah. What can I do for you?" Sheriam asked as she set down papers and looked up.
"Alessia is here for a switch. She refused a lesson." Lanfear spoke firmly.
"Is this true?" Sheriam asked. Alessia nodded her head while looking down. "Explain yourself." Sheriam demanded.
"I am blocked." Was all Alessia could say.
"So. It is true. You could have at least tried the weave." Sheriam spoke as Alessia nodded her head again. "Thank you sister Lanfear. I will take it from here." Sheriam spoke as Lanfear nodded and left. Closing the door behind her.
"On your knees." Sheriam spoke. Alessia nodded and got on her knees. Watching the older woman pull out what seemed to be a flexible looking rod. Feeling her dress unzipped from behind low enough for her shoulder to be exposed. "Let this be a lesson." Sheriam spoke as Alessia felt the rod hit her bare skin. She bit her tongue and groaned. The pain seared through her shoulder and down her back as her eyes stung. Another hit. It was more intense than the first hit. She felt something trail down her back. Then another hit. Her skin was raw and torn. She whimpered at the hits. After the fifth one, Alessia had tears trailing down her cheeks.
"You may go." Sheriam spoke. Alessia weakly stood up and bowed to the woman before taking her leave from the room.

She had her hand holding her shoulder as it was bleeding as her dress was getting stained from the blood. Hearing whispering and laughing as she ignored them while walking down a hallway. She did not know where she was going because her eyes were blurry from the tears. They were falling as she wiped them away.
"Everything alright?" Moiraine's voice came as Alessia stopped. Avoiding eye contact. She felt her chin touched as she was forced to lock eyes with the other blue ones.
"You had the switch?" Moiraine asked. Wiping her cheeks from the tears.
"Why do you care?" Alessia asked as she pulled away. Only for Moiraine to grab her arm gently and pull her into a hug. "You got a good one." Moiraine spoke as she was now standing behind Alessia to look at her shoulder. "Come. Let's get you to a healer." Moiraine spoke. Gently pushing Alessia forward as she then followed the woman in blue. Keeping her eyes down as her shoulder was stinging. She was led to another part of the Tower she hadn't been to yet. Looking around in the large room. There were several beds laid in uniform fashion against the walls on each side.
"What can I do for you sister Moiraine? A woman spoke as she walked up. She was wearing black pants and a yellow dress shirt. It had a floral pattern to it.
"Alessia here received the switch. Her shoulder." Moiraine spoke. The woman stood behind Alessia to look at it.
"I brought the items you requested." Lillen's soft voice came. Alessia felt goosebumps rise on her arms. Thanking the Light that the dress was hiding her arms. "Would you like me to..." Lillen stopped. Alessia looked up to see the woman with an angry look upon her face as she was staring at her shoulder. Alessia frowned and quickly looked away when the dark eyes caught her blue ones.
"Thank you sister Lillen. On my desk please." The healer spoke. Alessia saw Lillen take her leave to a private room. She felt a warm sensation as her shoulder was no longer in pain. Alessia gasped and smiled. Bowing at the woman.
"Thank you!" Alessia spoke as she looked at the woman.
"Chesmal Sedai." The woman spoke with a smile.
"Chesmal Sedai." Alessia added. She was grateful to the woman. "I want to learn that." Alessia added.
"Perhaps once you are raised to Acceptance." Chesmal spoke as Alessia nodded. She then frowned again. How could she if she couldn't even get over her block.
"You alright?" Chesmal asked as Alessia nodded her head. Feeling her dress zipped back up. Alessia gave the woman a bow again before taking her leave. Moiraine on her heels. Feeling her arm grabbed and the next thing she knew, she was in a hug.
"What happened?" Moiraine asked. Alessia could inhale Moiraine's scent and felt a little dizzy. Watching the woman pull back. "I know how hard Tower life can be. I am here if you need anything." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded her head lightly. Seeing Moiraine look over her shoulder. Alessia looked behind her and saw Lillen glaring at Moiraine before leaving. "Stay away from her." Moiraine warned before taking her leave as well. Alessia stood there all confused. Blinking a few times before taking her leave as well.

She knocked on a door as it was quickly answered. Jane pulled her into the room as Alessia heard the door closed.
"How did it go?" Tarna asked as she stood up from the bed.
"Well. Moiraine Sedai tried helping me as well. She said that I am blocked." Alessia spoke as she sat down on the bed. Seeing her friends both sit on each side of her. Listening to her.
"What of Lanfear's lesson?" Jane asked.
"Oh. That was a bust for me. I couldn't do the lesson. So, I didn't channel. I ended up getting the switch." Alessia spoke. Feeling her shoulder touched as Jane looked.
"I see the blood but no cuts." She spoke.
"Yes, Moiraine Sedai took me to see Chesmal. She healed my shoulder. Afterwards, I left. Moiraine stopped me and hugged me. Said I can talk to her about anything." Alessia spoke while looking at Tarna.
"Oooooh. Looks like Alessia likes Moiraine!" Jane teased Alessia. She blushed a little and pushed her friend playfully.
"I have nothing but respect for Moiraine Sedai." Alessia spoke.
"Uh huh." Tarna was smirking at her. Rolling her eyes at her friends again.
"Lillen Sedai saw the whole thing and Moiraine told me to stay away from her." Alessia added. Seeing her friends nod in agreement. She frowned at this. Wondering why.
"Oh! I was bitten by a spider today." Alessia added.
"Did it hurt?" Tarna asked.
"Nah." Alessia replied in a smart ass tone. Receiving a smack on her shoulder as Jane laughed at this. She was happy to be here with her friends at least. If she couldn't channel. The best thing she could do was study hard and stay on top of her classes. She was going to study hard to find out why she was blocked. Smiling at the friends as Jane stood up with a smile.
"Oh, Alice. The Novice girl asked if there were any study groups for Old Tongue." Jane spoke as Alessia raised a brow at her friend.
"Come on! You're the best out of us all in the language." Tarna spoke. Alessia nodded her head. Hearing a pair of hands clap.
"Come on! Let's meet in the library. Alessia. Go grab Alice and we will meet you there." Jane spoke as she grabbed her bag before leaving. She stood up and watched Tarna follow Jane. Alessia turned and went down another hallway. She needed to grab her bag as well. Humming softly again as she wasn't far from the Novice quarters. She grabbed her bag from her chair and saw a spider crawling across the table. She smiled and let it crawl onto her hand. Walking over to her window and opening it. Letting the spider free. She smiled softly at it before taking her leave again. Knocking on another door. Hearing hurried footsteps as it opened. The girl from earlier smiled at her. She had long light brown hair and green eyes. Her hair was a lot lighter than Moiraine's.
"Hi Alessia!" Alice spoke.
"Hello Alice. Um. I'm helping two of my friends in Old Tongue. Would you like to join us?" She asked. The girl gasped and nodded her head. She went to grab her bag as well before leaving her room.
"You have no idea how much I appreciate the help! Alanna Sedai has this choir class. Anyone who is fluent can join. I really want to join!" Alice spoke. Alessia smiled. She loved to sing and dance. She had never heard about this choir class.
"We'll do our best to get you up to speed on speaking it. I am curious about this class as well." Alessia spoke. The girl went on and on about how the songs were in Old Tongue and it was beautiful to listen to them sing.

They made it to the library as they looked around.
"Pst!" A voice made her jump. Seeing Jane wave at her as they walked over to her. It seemed they had a private room. Alessia looked around and smiled. It was just the four of them.
"Should we keep the door opened or closed?" Tarna asked.
"Open for now." Jane replied. Alessia nodded and set her bag down. Seeing a blackboard in the room with chalk. This was definitely convenient for them.
"Alright. So. What are we struggling with?" Alessia asked. They all looked at each other before answering different things at once.
"So.. translations?" Alessia asked as all three of them nodded at once. "My question is, do you know how to pronounce the words?" Alessia asked. They nodded. She smiled and she turned and began to write on the board. "Putting the sentences together is very similar if not the same as Common Tongue." Alessia began to explain. Seeing her friends, Alice began writing.
"Do we all have a core understanding of the language?" Tarna asked as Alice shrugged her shoulders.
"Alright. Now this language is our mother tongue. Many are still speaking this language today. It is starting to get unpopular among the others. As you can tell, it is still widely spoken as to this day." Alessia explained. She remembered hearing many of the sisters speaking this language and she was glad she was taught. She could understand the conversations everyone was having. It was a good thing the Tower made it mandatory to learn this language.
"Why must we learn it?" Alice asked.
"Because it is a widely known language. As you can see, most of the sisters here only speak it." Alessia replied. It was still the most spoken language. Wondering why it was not being taught much anymore. Was it to die out? She didn't want that. She wanted her friends to learn as well. If anything, if they had a mission or a task, this could be vital in communicating with each other without the fear of being discovered. Seeing her friends smile as she began again. Seeing a pair of dark eyes watch her. Alessia's eyes caught Lillen's. She closed the door so they wouldn't be disturbed.

Her friends had left after spending two hours helping them write their papers. In being successful, they were pleased with their work. Alessia was sitting at a table in the corner back of the library while having a few books piled next to her. She was curious about the spider that had bit her earlier. She was drawing different spiders in her book she was given by Jane earlier today. It was an empty book. Alessia drew the spider that bit her earlier. The pen's fine tip was able to get the details of the spider.
"It's called a Latrodectus." The soft voice spoke. Alessia wrote down the name she heard on the picture and quickly closed the book. Looking up to see Lillen standing near her. "Also known as a black widow. Their bites can cause a lot of pain." Lillen added. Alessia raised a brow and wrote down the information. Pulling a book to her and flipped through it. Sure enough, the spider was listed.
"So, don't hold spiders." Alessia spoke lightly.
"Not necessarily. Some are friendly. You just have to know which ones." Lillen added.
"How do you know so much about spiders?" Alessia asked. Seeing Lillen smirk at her.
"Why are you so interested in them?" She asked. Alessia looked at the woman, getting a good look to memorize her face before going back to her books. She started packing her stuff.
"I should go." Alessia spoke quickly.
"You have somewhere important to be?" Lillen asked.
"Yes." Alessia lied. She didn't. She wanted to be alone. Well, Moiraine told her to stay away and she was going to do just that. She quickly walked up to the woman who helped her check out the books before leaving the library. Now knowing Lillen was watching her closely. She finally felt her heart stop racing as she sighed a deep breath. Looking around before heading back to her room. It seemed the woman was always watching her for some reason. She needed answers and she couldn't just go around asking questions. She needed to be careful. Some questions were not allowed to be asked about. Setting her bag down on her chair as she pulled out a book on weaves. Seeing the pictures to show how they were created. She frowned at this. Creating the weaves as well. Nothing coming from them. At least she would have some of the simple ones down if she could ever channel again. Would she be able to ever channel again? Setting the book on the table with frustration again before pulling out loose paper and began to draw her favorite looking spiders from the book again. Writing down their names and some information about them in tiny writing. Wishing she had color. She would have to ask for other colors. There was a new invention called photography. It made her curious on how they could take what one would call a picture. It captures moments in life on a piece of special paper. It would hold it forever. She smiled at the thought before going back to her studies on spiders.
