The Next Morning

Sky and his friends were up then started setting up the table and making breakfast.

"Nothing like a good breakfast." Syd said.

"I'll say, can't have a good breakfast without my buttered toast, it's so buttery." Bridge said, wiggling his fingers.

"Of course it is, just be glad we bought enough bread to last us a while." Z said.

"I never seen you eat anything else for breakfast besides that." Jack said, when Sky sat down with the rest and were already curious to know what Sky wanted to tell them yesterday.

"I know what you all are thinking, you want me to tell you already. Don't you?" Sky said.

"We've waited long enough Sky, now is a good time to tell us." Jack said.

"Fine. I just don't know where to begin." Sky said.

"Whenever your ready, we're listening." Bridge said.

"You know you can count on us." Z said.

"We're here for you no matter what." Syd took a deep breath and was about to tell his friends, when they heard the door open and RIC went running downstairs.

"RIC! RIC! GET BACK HERE!" Sky shouted and went after him along with everyone else, when they came down to see it was Andrea here, as RIC greeted her.

"Sky. Hey." Andrea said.

"Andrea. What are you doing here?" Sky asked.

"I came to see you." Andrea responded. "And who is this?" she asked while petting RIC and he was barking happily.

"His name is RIC, short for Robotic Interactive Canine." Bridge responded.

"Nice to meet you RIC." Andrea said, as RIC barked.

"He seems to like you." Syd said.

"Andrea. How did you know I was here?" Sky asked.

"I didn't come alone." Andrea answered, when Tyler and Megan came in and RIC ran to greet them.

"Hey Sky." Megan said.

"Hey. How did you both know?" Sky asked.

"Our dad told us and he gave us the address before he left off for work." Tyler answered.

"And you weren't lying back when we were kids, you told us you lived in a big clock." Megan said.

"I was waiting for my dad to take us, but he didn't come." Andrea said.

"Why am I not surprised, that's your dad for you." Sky said.

"Sky. Don't start with that. He probably had a reason why he didn't come." Andrea said.

"If you say so." Sky said.

"Anyway, we wanted to ask you, where did you and your friends ran off too yesterday?" Tyler asked, and Sky started to get nervous and so did everyone else.

"Well...you see...we went to go get help, since I told my friends your dad is a Silver Guardian, we called them." Sky answered.

"You did?" Megan said.

"Yes. In fact, how did you think he knew where you guys were at, when Andrea was in trouble." Sky explained.

"Hey, you know your right. I mean dad did show up at a right time along with-" Tyler was interrupted.

"Another ranger who we don't know who it is." Andrea said.

"I thought that-" Tyler was interrupted again.

"No Tyler, we don't know who that other ranger was with dad." Megan said.

"Oh. I get it, your both right, what was I thinking." Tyler said.

"Anyway, the good thing is that you were all safe, especially you Andrea." Jack said.

"Yeah. I mean no thanks to you for keeping us safe." Megan said.

"It was the least I can do." Jack responded.

"Not only him, but thanks to the power rangers who helped dad out." Tyler said.

"Your right, you should have seen them Sky, it was amazing how they fought." Andrea said.

"Yeah. I actually said thanks to the red ranger for the help, he was really brave." Megan said.

"Did you? Nice of you to tell him that." Sky said.

"Anyway, why don't we show you guys upstairs." Bridge said, Z and Syd punched him on his shoulder.

"Bridge. Not quite yet." Syd said.

"What she means is, it's a mess up there." Z said.

"Right. Completely forgot." Bridge said.

"Come on, we should go pick up fast, along with your help, Bridge." Syd said, pulling him by his arm, with Z following along.

"Way to almost blow our cover, Bridge." Z said.

"Sorry, it just slipped out of me." Bridge said.

"They can't know we're rangers it will ruin the mission." Z said.

"Not to mention putting them in danger, especially how Sky's sister was." Syd said.

"Again sorry, I'll try to be careful on what I say, though I think they're hiding something too." Bridge said.

"What do you mean?" Syd asked.

"Bridge. Now is not a good time. And hide whatever we need to hide. From Sky's friends and sister." Z said, replicating herself.

"What she said." Syd said, while hiding most of the stuff, while RIC was entertaining Tyler, Megan, and Andrea.

"Well aren't you a playful robot dog." Megan said.

"A robot dog, pretty cool." Tyler said.

"Who's robot dog?" Andrea asked.

"RIC is basically all our dog, well he mostly favors Sky." Jack said.

"I think he's an awesome robot dog." Andrea said.

"Probably helps you get your mind off Chase." Tyler said. "Sorry Sky, I didn't mean it like that."

"It's okay, your probably right." Sky responded.

"Can that guy be more insensitive." Z whispered to Bridge and Syd while already close to coming down.

"Don't let him hear you." Syd whispered.

"Okay, we already picked up our mess, now it's okay to come up and show you." Bridge said, and RIC went running up.

"Looks like RIC had a head start." Jack said and started laughing, as they all started heading upstairs.

"You weren't even lying about the stairs, there are a lot." Tyler said.

"This should have come with an elevator." Megan said.

"That's what I said too." Syd said, finally reaching to the top.

"Okay, we're here." Sky said.

"Finally, my legs are hurting." Andrea said.

"I don't get how you all manage going up and down so many stairs." Tyler said.

"I'm use to it." Sky said.

"We try to get use to it." Jack said.

"I don't think I can." Megan said.

"Anyway, welcome to the clock tower where me and my friends are staying, even where I once lived." Sky said.

"So, this is it. Doesn't look that bad." Megan said.

"I think it's a cool place to hang and chill." Tyler said.

"Is that what you all do here?" Andrea asked.

"No. We work." Jack said.

"What kind of work do you do?" Megan asked.

"What my mom's friend use to do, odd jobs." Sky answered.

"What kind of odd jobs?" Tyler asked.

"You know like, painting, picking up trash, cleaning windows and so on." Sky answered.

"Oh. Not bad, I guess it's not too bad of a start, while staying here." Andrea said.

"Come here. I want to show you something." Sky said, taking Andrea, Tyler and Megan up some stairs by the balcony showing them the view.

"Wow. You can see the whole town from here." Andrea said, looking amazed.

"It's a really nice view, I'll tell you that." Megan said.

"Really amazing, now we see why your mom and her friends really like it here." Tyler said.

"Yeah. I did too." Sky said.

"Hey Sky!" Z shouted and they all went downstairs.

"What's up?" Sky responded.

"We were thinking of taking a break from work, and maybe just hang around." Syd said.

"Yeah. Even getting to know your friends and sister a little more. Right Z?" Bridge said.

"Sure. What he said." Z responded.

"What do you say, Sky?" Jack asked.

"I guess we can use a break." Sky answered. "What do you say?"

"We don't have anything to do and our parents are working, so why not." Megan answered.

"Great. Let's go." Syd said.

"Alright. More exploring." Bridge said, excitedly.

"Let's go see what there is to do." Z said, RIC started to bark and wanted to follow along.

"No RIC. You can't come with us, you have to stay here, sorry." Sky said, and RIC walked sadly. "We won't be long."

Meanwhile

At the Silver Guardian HQ, Eric was in his office, when he heard a knock in his door.

"Come in." Eric said, and the door opened seeing to his surprise it was Carter. "Carter. Hey. What a surprise to see you here." he got up and hugged him.

"Hey Eric. Same with you." Carter said.

"What brings you here?" Eric asked.

"Well Dana and I just dropped into town, so were only here for a few weeks." Carter answered. "Other than that, how have you, Taylor, and your kids been?"

"We've been good us working, my kids came back from college and there on their summer break till they get back in the fall." Eric said.

"Glad everything is going good with you." Carter said.

"Yeah. Things have been going complicated over the years though." Eric said.

"I understand, since Jen died it wasn't easy for her kids and Alex, when you told us about it Dana and I couldn't believe it." Carter said.

"At least she had spent a whole good years as she could, her kids have missed her so much." Eric said.

"How have they've been though?" Carter asked.

"They've been good, Sky just came back back into town and Andrea has been good too living with us." Eric said.

"What about Alex? I thought he would have watched over while Sky was away." Carter wondered.

"It's a long story and many things have been going on. I'll tell you about it afterwards" Eric said.

"Well Eric, the other reason why I also came here is that I need to show you something really important." Carter said.

"What is it?" Eric asked, and Carter took out some papers from a folder.

"I know you don't want to remember about the day of the fire that took Wes's life, but while I was looking through it, there was something that didn't make sense here." Carter explained.

"What do you mean?" Eric asked.

"I was looking over the blueprints on the building that caught fire and was seeing what could have caused it, though there was something that must have been missed." Carter explained.

"Which was what?" Eric asked.

"Usually when a fire starts a short circuit causes it, but I didn't see anything that must have caused one." Carter said.

"So are you saying that..." Eric paused for a minute.

"Meaning the fire wasn't accidental it was arson." Carter answered and Eric was surprised on hearing this.
